The Senators blew the game open in the second period while Ryan White was serving a double-minor for roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct.
PP goals by Habs-killer Daniel F. Alfredsson and Mika Zibanejad made it 3-1.
Then Chris Phillips capped off a period of total dominance by the Chris Neil line to give the Senators a three-goal lead.
Three goals on Peter Budaj in 3:35, and the Canadiens never recovered … although there some quality shots on Craig Anderson.
Chris Neil iced the cake with a wraparound late in the third period.
The game included two first-period fights and a parade to the penalty box that sabotaged any rhythm or flow to the action.

Did the same thing against Florida. Nobody complained then. But they didn’t give up 2 goals either. I agree, White needs to sit for a while.
I know what you mean and I understand he has a role to play so give him the first penalty cause thats what he does but the second one for running his mouth in a game where they are calling everything is plain stupid.

First “getting run out of the rink” of the season. Probably a good wakeup call for them…I don’t think they’ve had a decent shot on goal in the 2nd period…O well..back to backs are brutal..and the SEns get more calls in their building than most teams. But we got caught with a lot of retaliation penalties and you can’t win doing that.
Wonder if Therrien reads them the riot act?! Might as well tinker with line combos and take it easy on Markov and lighten his load for the weekend matchups..
