Liveblog: Canadiens rally late but lose road trip opener 5-4

Iginla scores

Make that six losses in a row in Calgary.
The Canadiens have not won here since January, 2002.
They did make it interesting, rallying from a 5-2 deficit to turn the game into a nail-biter.
But in the end, it was another L in the season from Hell.

that’s what it looks like when 2 crap teams play each other…Calgary is going nowhere as well.

Wow i just got back from the game at the Dome…. The habs are even worse in person then they are on TV!!!!!! Bourque was just plain awefull out there all he really did was float around.Big joke around where i sat was hey Bourque and Cammy are playing just as good as each other out there. Well at least Cammy was injured and never played.

I really liked the way Patches played tonight he was all over the place only hab that really played well.
Plekanec should of bodied Iginla on his first goal instead of the pussy stick check he tried to get him with. You ain’t stopping Jerome by stick checking him. ANd the same thing on jeromes second goal the habs D just let him waltz around them especially Georges who should have stopped Iggy.

I liked Ryan white out there the kid is a spark plug, too bad he has hands of stone.

I also think Price should of stopped 3 of the 5 that went in tonight.

FIRE GAUTHIER, FIRE GAUTHIER, FIRE GAUTHIER

Markov, Kaberle, Bourque, SK74, AK46, O’Byrne, Moore, Gorges for $1.5MM more than he could have had him in the summer.

    This guy is clueless.

    • RGM says:

Really? You’re lumping O’Byrne in there? Not sure if you’re just seeing if we’re paying attention or whatnot, but c’mon….O’Byrne?

Way to pad the stats Carey…..best assist of the night, stuck in the blue on the giordano goal, overplay on iginla, then the stupid one leg up and one down nullifying his ability to push off on iginla’s other goal. The screen/deflection goal was the only goal that he wasn’t on the hook for. Hey RC there’s no reason that budaj shouldn’t get the majority of the remaining games. Shut Carey down just like marky. Why risk injuries?

Could Rene Bourque be any worse?

Are there any mathematicians out there who can tell me that we won’t make the playoffs?

    • ths says:

I’m a mathematician and I can confirm the Habs are absolute shite.
Now do you need a weatherman to confirm it snows in Calgary in winter ?

Ooh Aah Habs on the war path

  10. jedimyrmidon says:

I think it’s essential that the Habs end this season on some kind of positive note… any kind of positive note. Like the Devils and Senators did last year.

Finishing by losing 6 games in a row will not help next season. They need to feel like they can accomplish something out there.

    • AndyF says:

How about finishing the season knowing that we have a really good chance to draft first overall? This would make the Habs season worth something, don’t you think?

      Fail to Fail for Nail

    • jedimyrmidon says:

I’m sure they’re excited to potentially have another future star player come in. But these guys have made it to the NHL level through their personal efforts and a season like this makes it all wasted. Also, the Habs have made the playoffs every year in recent years so for a player like Price it must be extremely frustrating.

    For all the Price haters

HNIC flashed a graphic either last thursday or Saturday ( i cannot remember) of Prices numbers right now and last year numbers. They were basically IDENTICAL. Price just benefited from a better defence last year. Seriously what is Weber doing in the NHL. When we have our young guys (Tinordi, Bealieu, Nash and Ellis) with PK, MArkov and Emelin thats a solid core.

    Price in 11/12 – GAA (2.43) SV%9.14

Oilers tied with Sharks 2-2 at end of second. If Edmonton wins tonight, they’ll only be 2 points behind the Habs with a chance to tie them on Thursday.

    YES!!

If Diaz had played, we would have won this game.

    ;-)

  16. habs001 says:

Good news pk showed that he can be a dominant player in a game…i believe we will see a lot more of this next year…

  17. The Jackal says:

Every game we are in we are outshot but are in it because of price. If we could score goals and if we had a competent team… Too many ifs… We need a group of players who work hard and are talented and who complement one another, like the cannucks
