A question for Boone. I was told the refs in this league, especially the Canadians one are intimidated by the US press. They fear for their rating. losing playoff pay and keeping their jobs. Here is the prove I offer.
Boone would you or anyone one at the Montreal Gazette write a piece like the Boston papers did about Patched when he got hurt? If it has been the other way around.
The Canadian press does not write negative stories about the refs. The American city paper do.

I’ve liked him every time I see him. Without bringing in any UFAs, we have Kaberle, Diaz, Weber (all three of which play a similar game) and St Denis for the bottom pair.
I’ll be shocked if at least of that group isn’t moved in the off season.
The Toronto / Tampa game appears to be being played with a similar effort level as the Habs game…. This whole league is fulling engulfed in The Tank!

The three of us were watching the game last night at Tony’s and it was suggested that in order to keep the bottom teams trying at the end of the season like this, the team that would finish at a specific place, like 5th or 6th from the bottom would get the first lottery pick. That way, the tanking teams would have to make a game of it at the end of the year. I don’t know how it would work, but it wasn’t such a bad idea.
it gets endless the permutations on how to try and fix it, but agree is seems flawed currently.

I place great value on Eller’s skills. He’ll be one of the best 3rd line centres in the league for a long time, and he’ll get the most out of some really cheap wingers, but he’s a puck chaser, and he makes stupid passes, so there’s no point putting him on a line with highly skilled hockey players.

If he could ever learn when to pass, and when to shoot, and when to just dump it in the corner I think he’d be the best player on the team. What I can’t understand about him, is how a good defensive player who always knows where to be and what man to take in his own zone can be the same guy who skates the puck into double coverage and makes blind-back-passes to open points in the offensive end.
