Chalk it up as a learning experience.
Your Montreal Canadiens dominated the first 12 minutes of the game, skating off to a 7-0 shot advantage.
But they couldn’t beat Tuuka Rask.
And Boston proved, through subsequent play, that you can’t let a good team up off the deck.
Third-period goals by Tyler Seguin and David Krejci erased the lead P.K. Subban’s secodn-period power-play goal had created.
You couldn’t fault Carey Price on either goal.
The Bruins’ penalty-kill was the best the Canadiens’ heretofore high-flying PP has seen this season.
The Canadiens’ promising rookies were largely invisible through the latter part of the game … as were many of the veterans.

get a grip..
So Jones Barkov Mackinnon or Drouin?
I kind of like that 6’4 big boy from Russia Valeri Nichushkin scored the ot winner against Canada
Lots of players had very indifferent games (which is quite polite).
Pleks (does so much, but did he ever look like creating or developing offense?).
The DD line — something must be up.
Emelin — one big hit on Lucic (who forechecked well but was otherwise anonymous) could have woken up the rest of the team.
The PP.
Liked: Bourque; Gionta unafraid to mix it with Chara; Price.
But know what? There was a lot more to like on the other team tonight.
Don’t worry. The Bruisers won’t last. No Thomas and injuries will eventually ruin their year.
Beantown disappointment will be so severe, it might even cost Julien his job.
One can only hope.
Well…..that looked eerily similar to the team we saw last year; two days off and come out with a crap effort like that, no net prescence and no finishing……sigh
Last year we only have our 1st finishing anything. This year we have a the same 1st line that can’t do sweet F-all. DD has to go! Please MB please god please!!!!
Sorry to say it but a well deserved loss. Blew half a dozen excellent scoring chances including empty nets and breakaways then slept walked through the 2nd half of the game.
Sadly, a very good summary.
No more days off, perhapd?
First star of the game: pleks… For the bruins… By far the most pathetic performance I have ever seen from him but hey I’ve only watched every single game since 2004
It had to happen. Too many passengers and guys pissing their jocks at having to play Lucic and Chara.
At least Bourque continued to show he’s the real deal and I expect Cole and Max to come out of hibernation one day (I’ll give Max a pass as he’s got a very legitimate doctor’s note…)
Chalk this one up to being a part of the learning process…….there I feel better already
we made it easy for them
Tough loss. Stupid Bruins.
BACK TO REALITY !!!!!
Best player tonight: Bourque, by a long way
Worst: Markov
Pleky has also had far better nights.
Where is MaxPac? Tough to be hard on him since he just had an appendectomy, but he needs to be better.
Gallagher was a trainwreck in his own zone.
Price was great.
I thought Amrstrong and Moen were good. Everyone else was pretty meh.
Where was the response to the Bruins trap and forecheck? We couldn’t get anything going.
That’s the same guy I saw, Twilight, except I’d be slower to credit Armstrong, except relative to a lot of stink around him tonight…
Well last year they were playing hard for 20 minutes a game. In this game they played pretty well for 57 and fell asleep for 3 and that’s all she wrote.
I think it’s time to try Eller with the other kids. He deserves it.
—————-
Me skull and crossbones arn’t the only thing I plan on raisin’ tonight.
anyone else think cole looked really bad that game, i don’t think he finished a check once for the entire 60 minutes.
He’s already checked out mentally he’s just going through the motions it seems.
He was rough, but at the start of last season, there were people ready to run him out of town. He is a slow starter. It’s no fun to watch, but it is early in the short season. He’ll burst out.
Well that game had some good, some bad and some ugly.
But, we shall learn. Onwards and Upwards.
Canadiens outplayed the Bruins for much of the match. They badly need to improve their finishing ability, which has cost them dearly. They’ve been a bit unlucky and the Bruins goalie has made some great saves. But even so, they would have scored a few more had they had more presence and thrust in front of the Bruins net.
I think it’s time to break up that DD. Cole, Patches line it’s just not clicking anymore
Habs didn’t just get out-played in the 3rd period… they got out coached.
Missing all those juicy chances in the 1st period came back to haunt us.
Buck Fruins…

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
They missed juicy chances in every period, right up until the end. I have no problem with this loss, it was a close game, legit could’ve gone either way.
Full Breezer 4 Life
No chance this team wins one playoff game. NO CHANCE! That was an embarrassing finish.
I think the bruins could win one game.
Good try.
Next.
Not much to say here.
Reality is that 5 bad minutes of hockey and a hot goalie beat us.
Gotta play the full 60.
Go Habs Go!

yup, also coach did not have them prepared for the opening 3rd period push
I’m not sure what’s sillier: thinking the coach didn’t prepare them, or thinking they needed to be prepared. I think your average NHL player might anticipate that the opposing team is going to come out hard when down one starting the third!
Full Breezer 4 Life
It wasn’t passion or being ready for the skate, it was the tactical response to the Bruins’ trap that left something to be desired.
Then why have a coach Bill, preparation ,line matchup and assignments, motivation, stating the obvious at times, did you ever coach and or play, what a dumb ass comment
+1
Well, true only in part. On some of the tap-ins (DD, Pleks), we didn’t even require the goalie to make a save. We could have had this one. Bummer!
——————————————
Long signatures are annoying
Where is the captain? At least Plekanec has been in some screen shots!
stupid bruins
There’s your Markov. What a lousy pass.
Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.
yea..nulified..
A glimmer of hope.
Even up!!
And so it ends.
oh geez.
Bull****

DOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
They’re trying but you have to give your head a shake at all the missed passes and the invisible Wolverine. WTF?
Well we had our first Eller with the kids. A sign of the future?
I hope so.
I really like Prust but yes, it should be. With Eller playing Center
Before the lockout I was convinced that Gallagher was going to make the team out of camp but figured that Galchenyuk would go back to Sarnia and my dream third line was Prust Eller Gally
“Et le but!”
Great effort from the cube on the forecheck
The Habs aren’t used to being good. The Bruins are.
we just have to many visors on our team if you no what i mean!!!!
SOFT!
Don Cherry is that you?
lol
Too many cups, too. Real men play commando.
it appeared Price was commando in warmup?
I didn’t hear about that. Ouch?
Great teams always capitalize. Habs are not doing so. They could have been leading this game by a few. That’s been the difference. Good news is that they are ‘right in it’. Just no killer instinct.
Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.
They aren’t a great team. They are 9 games removed from being the worst team in the East. Given that they competed with one of the favorites for the Stanley Cup, I can’t understand why everyone’s so down on them.
So many blown chances in the 3rd alone
Let’s steal it. C’mon guys. Give the crowd a chance to give you a lift
Bourque has been best winger tonight.
Unreal. Can’t even buy a goal.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
Ok muting the tv and turning on tsn 690. If I hear Mcguire pumping the Bruin’s tires for much longer…
Its going to be much worse this year cause he was snubbed for the habs g.m. job for the second time.
When you look at the 2 goals the Bruins scored, we have missed what, 10 of those tap-ins tonight?
Taberslack.
They aren’t rolling over.
DD’s Fenwick and Corsi are off the charts this game.
This is a Habs/Bruins Game? No hits, No Fights…zzzzzzzz!
So close for DD
Go Habs Go!

DD had one on his stick
For god sakes DD…
Diff game if they had a bagged a couple of the those early scrambles.
Time for Cole & Pac to wake the F up!
Frustrating when this game should have been put away in the first period.
agree Showey.
Huge negativity here – a last place team from last season has outplayed (but not outscored) a power in the league. The Bruins are grinding the Habs down, and finishing. The habs are missing in close, and have to play all out all game to beat a team like this. They sagged at the end of the second and paid for it in the third.
Still, I’ve seen a decent game with two teams getting in each others’ way a lot – sometimes it looks like there are 20 guys on the ice.
Six minutes to go, and both teams have to be very sharp – I hope the habs are sharper….
We need to push back .
I think we need the young guys out there. We need infusion of energy, more tempo
The Habs tonight are bearing an uncanny resemblance to the 2011-2012 team, no jump, no flow, no sync
VERY DISAPPOITING WITH THERE HEART IT NOT THERE.
Time to put out Gally Eller Gally line
“Et le but!”
Video session tomorrow for the boys!
Bag skate time
DD getting killed in the faceoffs at 33%, Eller 67%
Tough Crowd!!!
Who accused us of being outcoached? I agree. Habs have no answer for Bruins’ trap. Forwards are getting way too high, D can’t pass it thru 3 guys.
Lots of lessons to be learned from this game.
Yes, like BLOW IT UP and WE ARE TOO SMALL AND SOFT and THIS TEAM SUCKS and JUST LIKE LAST YEAR.
LOL that is Lots!
It’s time to unleash the stallion called Subban.
Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side.
Little Habbies getting tossed around like rag dolls….
I’ve honestly tried for as long as humanly possible, but I am absolutely done with DD. he has to go.
Hey Mr. Boone some of the Commentariat is getting on DD’s case as well!
What’s up with Diaz tonight? Is he drunk?
Krejci vs Plekanec we are being out Czeched tonight,
This team is still soft.
I totally agreed SOFT…
This is (groin) pain for the kids. Better to happen now than when we meet Bruins in playoffs.
I would like to see Therrien make some adjustments. Anything to kick start this thing!!
Time to blow up 1st line. Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
Really !! NO WHITE can our team be a team and work and stand together wake up!!!!!!!!!!!! my GOD.
