My friend just sent me this site and you’re going to love it. It has all those stats you try so hard to work out. In fact it has it for all sports, but here it is for the Habs
Finally Lapierre see’s the inside of the pressbox on game night. Unfortunately he is replaced by MAB.
I’ll take off an underperforming third line center and add in an undersized power play specialist.
Buffalo is shaking in their boots at this coaching genius.
Hopefully Lapierre will take this move to heart and return to the form of last year. His regression and deteriorated play is a major factor in the poor performance of our third and fourth lines. Mgmt expected better from this player but he hasnt performed.
Ryan White will almost certainly take his spot next year.

Dude. I’ve been watching the team since ’73. True, Price played well the 1st two games of the season but face it, he plays great when benched for a while but doesn’t carry the same intensity to the next game(s). I wish he did, but he doesn’t.
I’m sticking with standard home jersey, my CA 15-16 jersey failed to make anything happen so I went back to the one I wore when we started the LA Kings comeback.
Pouliot did have a hit on Monday and was not on the ice for either goal against. If you didn’t noticed, no one on the Habs scored. That why it was a shutout.
On Saturday he had 4 shots on goal, 4 missed shots, a hit and 3 blocked shots. He earned that point.
In case you missed it, he had his bell rung on Monday too, and still was involved in the play as much as anyone on the Habs, right till the end of the game.
Providing Price plays well, I have a good feeling about this game. And I didn’t have a good feeling about Toronto or Ottawa. Price just has to play well. COME ON, PRICE, SHOW YOUR STUFF.
Well, I was actually referring to your point about them needing to skate and work hard. I have a feeling you know that though.
Having said that, if little Bergy can help pop one on the PP, and avoid causing one in our end, I’ll at least refrain from disputing his purported awesomenss.
But, I will correct you on one point, once again: Pouliot did not record a point in the last game. But, he hasn’t gone 2 games without a point in 15 games. In fact, he has only gone 2 games without a point twice in his time here and has never gone 3 games without a point in Montreal. He has 8 points in his last 10 games. He is hardly the problem.
Furthermore, he doesn’t make millions, he is paid 800K to be tied as our second leading point producer(tied with Gionta, behind only Gomez) and tied as our number 1 goalscorer(Gionta again) over the 30 games he has been here.
Cammi and MAB are big parts of the powerplay even if they are not scoring bc they are legitimate threats that teams have to defend. With all due respect to Darche but it’s much easier to cheat away from his coverage to close another lane than it is to leave cammi.
Looking forward to some Pleks/AK/Cammy magic tonight, might be a bit rusty but having Cammalleri changes that line’s dynamic a lot, Pleks has a finisher and Cammy is good at setting AK up.
Maybe it has to do with the 2 horrible games Halak has had against BUF this year, giving up 5 goals in each game. Price on the other hand has a win 2-1 in OT and a loss 1-0. So who would you start?
So basically, at this point, if we go the rest of the season playing .500 hockey, we have a 0.500 chance of making the playoffs. The better our record, the more our chances increase, to the point where if we win 100% of the remaining ganes, we’ll have a guaranteed playoff berth.
Volchenkov with two really dirty hits in the same game last night versus Philly. No call on either play, absolutely ridiculous! The replay of the hit on Gagne shows the referee looking directly up the ice at the play. Gagne then gets 19 minutes in penalties for going after Volchenkov himself, and Volchenkov gets nothing of course. This is where Campbell has to do his job when the refs are too incompetant to do theirs on the ice. Two hits in one game like that should equal a suspension for each one.
Considering the way Montreal has played against teams not in a playoff spot in recent history, this game is a must win. They’ve only got 9 games left to clinch a spot at this point and that needs to start now. But if they can’t beat Buffalo I don’t see this team doing much in April anyway, so this game will be an interesting test and hopefully a preview of Montreal’s first round matchup since they probably won’t do too well against Washington or Pittsburgh.
IMO, white pads are better for hockey since it is harder to differentiate between the pads and net/boards/ice. In a game of inches, I think it provides a competitive advantage.
Price played 11 games in November and the team scored 2 or less in 5 of those games. Halak played once in November stopping 30 of 31 shots in a 1-0 loss to Calgary. I don’t think Price was the reason they beat Phoenix 4-2 in November, he had only 20 shots that night, but he certainly did have a great game against Nashville.
I have a midterm tomorrow. Screw it, there are so many stories for tonight’s game that I can’t miss it! Price back in nets with white pads, Cam completing the first line, and MAB on the PP. Can’t wait!
I agree that Halak is not the reason the team has lost two in a row…however, the Leafs made him look awful in the shootout…anyway, I would have played Halak tonight and Price tomorrow, unless they want to keep Price away from the home crowd until he gets his consistency back.
The PP has gone 1-11 or so in the two games and the pucksterbating habits have come back to this team…JM better tell his players to get the puck off their sticks and towards the net.
How about in November when he played so well all the team needed to do was score but couldn’t go above 2 goals a game for most of the month? Nashville was one of his greatest games ever, right after he got the team their win in Phoenix. More examples there as well.
Team not scoring in front of Price has cost them more than anything.
What the hell is wrong with you people? IT DOESNT MATTER WHO PLAYS IN NETS TONIGHT.
Halak is not the reason we lost 2 straight, and Carey wont be the reason we snap out of this mini-slump.
The problem has been on the PP (which will get a boost with Cammy and Bergy) and overall system play (i.e. long stretch passes vs puck possession and dominating down low which is where we have had success).
It is the TEAM that needs to make a change. The goalies are both doing their jobs. It is clear Halak has claimed the No. 1 status for now (which I think is important to choose one going into the playoffs), but that does not mean Price can’t do his part as well.
So many idiots on this website… It’s amazing how many of you have only been watchign this team for a couple of weeks… First 2 games of the season? Anyone? Or is this truly the terrible level Habs fan have reached…
Great video unrelated to hockey to help you pass the time between now and 7:30. A TV show theme song medley performed by a really talented musician: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i7u3fl-hP8
Price will play amazing tonight and steal the game, however next game they MUST play Halak, because Price cannot string two good games in a row together yet in his career.
i rather have the pussy hitting, agitating maxim lapierre and his 6g 6a and 152 hits this year than tom pyatt’s girly figure skating with 1g 3a and 23 hits this year.
- Team Halak V.S. Team Price…Montreal Canadiens Fans are similar to 14 year-old Girls going through Puberty.
I agree it’s a good move to give Price a shot tonight, but Halak did not lose those last two games. It was a lack of effort and execution on the part of the rest of the team that cost us those games. Especially the power play.
Pouliot has been playing with our 2 best forwards and has been given 20 mins. ice time. He was lucky to have an assist 2 games ago. Last game, he recorded no hit, no shot on goal and was invisible the whole game. He better starts to skate or we need to change our 1st line.
The save Price made was really nice, but it was totally his own fault. That puck should never have been in that position to begin with. A bad rebound led to a highlight reel save.
Did anyone see Brian Gionta smile?! on Camera!! Now is not a time to be smiling!!…Get some Goals…Win some games…Then smile….Wait dont smile…Maybe a grin…Just a grin…The nerve of that guy…

The injuries that could be eliminated tommorow if visors were mandatory, helmet straps had to be properly fastened and no-touch icing was brought in, think about it.
Ranger / Islander game being broadcast in 3D, I think they should get all the games in HD first. Watching a game on a HD tv without a HD broadcast is horrible. I miss my 19″ TV
I know right, cause right now, no player at all is better than gomez, ya know that guy we dont have to replace gomez…Ahhhh god your like super bright…great stuff humphry bogart
“I went to see a fight the other night…And A hockey game broke out!” ~Rodney Dangerfield~
Are you on drugs? 11 pts in 9 games?????? Oh right, this is normal kinda stuff the Leafs do. Trade away all their goal scorers for big dumb defence and give away the top 5 draft pick in the year that they will end up DEAD LAST in the league…
He may be overpaid, but 11 pts in 9 games works for me…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
What a frickin mess! 8 games left and still no killer instinct, always playing not to lose, attaboy JM! Was Pouliot benched in the 3rd period? is he JM’s whipping boy now?, that’s just what we need in the stretch run, Pouliot in the doghouse!
No sweat, i’ll consider it a bagde of honour to stir you from your lethargy.
Far fetched? Sure. But, this ain’t journalism and I ain’t being paid. I made an observation. I could be wrong. I might be right. Frankly, who cares what I think. I may not even agree with myself come morning. I’m currently a bit worked up after that collapse.
The beer is not in the bag yet, but I do smell something malty in the air. ;o)
I say you can’t fault Price for the last two goals in regulation, but his reaction to the defencive collapse is indefensible. He needs to stay strong and focus on winning in overtime or shootout. The look he gave Gorges at the end of regulation was the look of a guy who sees himself as apart from the team. In this aspect Halak is far superior and by extension gets better results from his teammates when the chips are down. He inspires them to atone for their mistakes by not chastising them, but focusing on his job instead. Carey needs to learn the value of that.
This is why Jacques Martin is a career loser as a coach.
He won’t play Andrei Kostitsyn in a game when it’s 2-0 and the Habs might make it 3-0 but in the last minutes with the team clinging to a one goal lead, he puts him on with Cammalleri so the Sabres can keep the puck in the zone and score the tying goal.
God what an incredibly stupid decision.
I’d like to punch him in the face right now.
He deserves it for the way he mismanaged the last two minutes tonight.
Absolutely and totally inexcusable for a veteran coach.
You’re right. I’m sure if the Habs lose out on the playoffs by one point, the Molson brothers and their investors won’t be bothered that Martin might have cost the team millions in revenues. No biggie at all.
good effort no worse or better than vs ottawa,,,this team is a 85-90 point team thats all…in the playoffs if teams start to pressure the habs like the sabres did for last 3 minutes we are in big trouble as we do not have enough mobile or physical d….if the caps pitts, jersey play all out pressure offense we would lose most games by 4-5 goals.
guys can we stop bringing up the other goalie when talking about one or the other…
I do it as well, but it’s ridiculous.
WE have two very good goalies… one who is better at this point and time (Halak) and one who is going to be dynamite.
We can’t say, oh price would have had that or halak would have won in the shootout… because we don’t know what would theoretically happen in an alternate universe.
this isn’t a case where someone passes a one timer to pyatt who has no idea how to shoot, and we say.. oh if Cammalleri was there he would have scored…
our goalies are a bit more equal in skill then that.

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
When you’re negative all the time no matter what, of course you feel justified during a losing streak. It’s like yelling at a traffic light to turn green at the top of your lungs until it finally changes, and then saying “HA I did that!”. Saying you were right about the team sucking during a winning streak, when as a middle of the pack team losses are an eventuality is nothing but self righteous BS.
Price will throw a tantrum and get the start next game, where he’ll shit the bed, because he’ll let in an early softie and his confidence will collapse. Halak will come back and the team will win a few more games before finishing 8th in the conference. We will be promptly embarassed by the Caps in the first round, where Halak will start the first two games, and Price the latter two, and Price will be traded in the offseason.
I knew we would not win in a shootout, Miller is the better goalie, but that horror show in the last 1:59 was not Price’s fault. We were scrambling and could not get posession of the puck. Price was not ” Swimming” but reacting to a onslaught. It is just unbelievable the kids luck or lack there of. He played great all game and his team let him down. Not the other way around. Oh Yea, I efin hate the Sabres and there douche coach. I guess hes happy with the officiating now, Little bitch
No you are wrong. Where were you during the game, do you just come out after to gloat on how bad your team is. Miller was the difference and he does not play for Fla, we will score 5 tomorrow. Then we will beat your beloved Martin F. I hate losing to but I will not continuously bash my team
Agree. If you are a d in front of the net protecting a lead at the end of the game and you are not knocking someone on their ass or taking away their stick, why are you on the ice?
He is playing for the Bulldogs. He is second in the league in plus minus and is third in scoring on his team. He is fast and he is physical. He is the Subbanator!!!
I don’t love the Cammalleri decision either but do you suppose his first choices were dead exhausted? He probably wanted to go with Gomez/Gionta/Moore/Sergei but those guys got a lot of ice in the last few minutes.
Also, Martin had the wrong players on the ice in the last couple of minutes. Andrei Kostitsyn does not belong on the ice with a 2 goal lead and 2 minutes to play. Even if he had a good game, he doesn’t belong on the ice at that point.
Thanks. You know all that from watching on TV. Holy Kreskin, you must be pyschic. I think you should email that theory to the boys at the Gazette because you seem to know more about what goes on in the room than the boys that follow the team.
I guess you’ll have to blame Price for Martin’s coaching brain fart. It makes you feel better even though Halak lost the game to the Leafs and didn’t win against the Senators. But He’s got that Can Do Attitude or whatever your pyscho-babble suggests from your observations from another galaxy.
Thanks for your analysis, it was precise, concise and has no basis in reality whatsoever.
It’s pretty rare to see Cammy out there and was not advisable, but I’m saying that it’s easy to say that now. The PK unit just got pounded, the Gomez line held on for dear life, now it was Pleks line. After a tough shift, even with a timeout, there’s no way you stick with Gomez line. It’s not like those guys are defensive monsters. If the tying goal was scored on them, the world would have said JM was an pure idiot for playing the same line back to back. The goal was actually mostly the fault of the guys in front of the net, like Gorges who were just standing around, instead of battling. I blame the team as a whole for blowing up the last minutes. Every line was getting dominated, just so happened Pleks (who should be out there) got scored on. Cop out to blame the coach and let the players off the hook.
Say what you want about the bad coaching but the two double minors in the 3rd were the game. I said earlier that 2-0 leads were the toughest to keep. I should’ve bought a lottery ticket instead.
This is so true. he also had the wrong pair out there for the first goal. but so many pks in the last 5 mins that im sure gomez and pleks were tired. but seriously why is the pleks line out for 6 on 5. such a dumb move its unbelievable.
Look at all the missed odd man rushes blown in the 3rd. These dwarfs suk it. Who gives a crap if they squeak in by 8th place. No team chokes or fails to close like these losers.
Are you forgetting the 5 min OT with a 4 on 3, he hardly looked disinterested then. SO are hard especially after a long layoff, Miller is just better, but he’s the best i the league
They got at least 1 point in 9 of their last 11 games Timo. What do you want from them? It hurts to lose a game like this but buffalo had 2 extra skaters on the ice for the first goal and 1 extra for the second. Miller played very well and kept them in it. There isn’t much you can fault the Habs for in this game except maybe not being disciplined enough when it counted the most. I was just thinking to myslef how few penalties the team has taken in the last few games when they started taking them late and it cost them.
Oh sure, if the Habs miss the playoffs by 1 point, it’s because JM put the best line of the night out in the last minute of this game, the Sabres tied it up on a 6-5 and they eventually lost in a shootout that gave the team a great chance to make amends. Missing the playoffs had nothing to do with any of the other 4918+ minutes of the season or the players that played them. What a weak statement and a total cop-out.
if Miller is so great why is he minus 2 huh? they can’t paly with him on the ice ….. this team needs to work on pulled goalie situations? c’mon guys this shit happens….not sure why pleks line played that shift…but…
i’m glad the majority of people have acknowledged he’s not to blame. Habs fans are supposed to be the most knowledgeable when it comes to hockey afterall.
He can be pissed, pissed at losing the lead, but he shouldn’t show it toward them when the game is still on the line. At the end of the game I can buy it, but it wasn’t over yet.
Yeah you’re right. None of what I’ve said has any historical basis.
Do you even follow this team? If you can’t see this pattern that’s repeated itself over and over and over and over and over and over then you’ve got to be out to lunch. Aside from the trade, I can virtually guarantee this is what will happen.
Horrible display of coaching in the last 2 minutes to play. JM should step his game up or he’ll be golfing soon. Sure, we jsut plain lost it and Buffalo were very fortunate to win this one. It reminds me of the Anaheim game but the other way around,… i guess what goes around, comes around..
I did not see that look and I think it’s a bit farfethced of a theory. You might be onto something in terms of him not being a team player/giving that look to gorges. I mean, I don’t believe it, but it’s so refreshing that your criticism of Price is based on reality that I’m excited and willing to look for evidence supporting it.
I disagree about the defensive collapse though. His game at that stage really consists of getting into a tall butterfly and placing the pucks where the D can clear it. They utterly failed in that respect. You can’t ask a goalie to not give rebounds in that type of situation cause it’s just impossible.
Put your agenda away…Halak will play tomorrow, the team still needs to win games….Price has not complained at all….so stop burning Price at the stake with false accusations.
Gotta disagree with you Eric, since the olympics Halak has been staring down defensemen like crazy. This idea that somehow Price maliciously stares at defensemen after goals while Halak doesn’t is completely fabricated, when a goal goes in and it was a result of bad defense, they both do it.
A few quick thoughts on Price…I thought he played a hell of a game tonight! I liked the white pads, and he played with a great deal of confidence for most of the game. The kid just can’t get a break….he’s unlucky….cursed. I have been a vocal Halak supporter for much of this season, but really have no beef against Price personally. I feel horrible for him tonight…he deserved a better outcome.
Look, I am a huge fan of Halak, ask anyone here, but to blame Price for whatever he gives his team after that performance…? You have got to be kidding, they deserve to have 100 lashes.
i don’t care if he puts up point here and there… i want to see him make a difference, not just get lucky by touching the puck and then letting gomez and gionta doing all the work
it’s beena round 4-5 games he’s been really of… bad time to cool down

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
You hate the habs. What else is new? Basically, they got beat by a gutsy coach and a gutsy team…and lost…1 point…and now you have your platform to hate them…again. Bravo, mon ami.
IMO it was just a look of disbelief, you can not possibly know anything for a fact. Just keep blaming the goalie and maybe this loss will make some sense. Maybe then youll sleep tonight knowing what you know
What I don’t understand, is that with an empty net on the PK, why not rifle the puck down the ice every chance you get? The worst that could happen is you miss the net, but everyone wanted to chip it up the boards. Stupid.
yes sure.. but that’s not what he said.. he said he looked like he is apart from the team.. how can you tell that? Sorry but a smart person would never say something stupid like that.
Please prove me wrong. tell me of anyone you know who can look at someone and know what they are thinking. Sure you can see a guy who looks happy or sad but not someone who wants a trade or lonely or feeling apart from the team…
I look at twocents avatar and i see a 12 year old.. does this count?!
Honestly , do you feel better after bashing them. I know its your right, but it just seems that thats all you ever do. Whatever, Keep bashing them. its not their fault that you or I were not good enough to be pro athletes, They make money and I will never feel really sorry for them. Its my fault that there winning and losing effects me so much. I live and die with this team and have much more things that are germane in my life to be overly critical of. I just want them to win
They just had to move the puck out with over 3 min left and put it in an empty net. We have some supposed snipers, surely they can put a puck in a (franking) net from their blue line!
I commented earlier to someone who said that we don’t have a defender who can impose himself physically and is fast enough to clear the zone when the other goalie is pulled for an extra attacker. Well we do and he is in Hamilton. He is third on the team in scoring and second in the league in plus minus. I think he deserves to be here. Lets cut the crap about him being protected. Ask him if he needs to be protected and hear what his answer is. If Bergeron can play on the fourth line imagine putting him there and then on the power play. I could go on but I’ll stop.
We were unlucky there. They turned it on in the last 2 minutes. We deserved more than a point there. This loss sucked. But on the bright side… We are 7-2-2 and we have taken 16 of 22 points. NOT BAD AT ALL.
Price played excellent.
Were almost completely healthy.
We outplayed them, and they are a GOOD TEAM.
Crappy, but we will win tomorrow.
GOD I WANTED PRICE TO GET A SHUTOUT. He deserved it.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
I have no agenda, believe me. Halak v Price I don’t care. But this is the way this situation has played out many times. The trade will be a combination of Price’s request and management losing confidence in him. I didnt say I supported the trade, just that I think it’s unlikely that this team will go forward without a bonafide number 1, its just not working. And I think Jaro has done more to deserve the number 1 spot. That is all. Fuck. Why is everyone on this board so goddamn presumptuous?
I think he was more late then weak. He also had been out there for awhile. It’s dissapointing but it’s hard to find too much fault when it is 6 on 4 and the bounces were going Buffalo’s way.
you know what, about 1o minutes after I punched my cofee tabe, i realized that the outplayed one of the top teams in the east, so you know what, stay out of the penalty box, and we are ok. no shoot outs in the play-offs. good game, maybe poetic justice for the anaheim game

I am not blaming the loss on him, the players in front of him lost it, but at that point the game was still on the line, and he should have stayed focused on getting the extra point. He was not focused in the shootout.

Some blown leads have been Price’s fault this season — this one isn’t. Absolute garbage defence — someone told the Habs a hockey game only has 56 minutes in it.
…let’s talk a little hypothetically for a few minutes …and, I am the first to recognize life nor hockey should be rationalized by hypothesis …THAT is though, …generally speaking
…the is the Hypothesis that floats through this ‘ol mind of Mine through all of the ups and downs of Our Team
…what IF We had not the key longterm injuries We had this year, and had not had to reinvent the makeup of Our Team this past summer and throughout this ongoing season ? …would any argue We may very likely have 5 to 10 points MORE than We have now ? …that rationally We would be closer to New Jersey and Pittsburgh in the standings than We are at this time to the BeanBoys and Philthyboys et al ?
…now, many will argue other teams have also had their injuries and challenges to the season, but I think if We measure Ours against theirs rationally, no one should argue Ours made a difference of at least a few games along the way
…when I look around and see the Penguins, the Senators, the Bruins, the Sharks, the Red Wings, and yes the Sabres et al goin’ through tough and inconsitent stretches just like Our Guys …I say to Myself We have a competitive Team that that has done Real Well to be WHERE They are, …and feel quite confident will not embarass Us at playoff time like the loser-bunch We employed last year
…so all those griping minions among Us that call this Team a bunch of Lillputians with no heart …please go see a shrink before You hurt Yourselves
…Our Team have had to have gargantuan balls to be where They are today …maybe a few of You should respect THAT
…Stanley Cup Material, I really don’t think so …but this is a Good Team
And the Habs snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again. Too many 3rd period penalties cost the 2 points. Complete loss of momentum at the end did the rest. Ruff’s move was sheer desperation. 99 times out of 100 the team on PK clears the puck and probably scores an empty netter. Tonight, the Sabres got lucky while Price continues with the black cloud over his head. Too bad, too; he played an excellent 57 minutes.
JM holding the lead tactic: Team holds back, avoids that 3rd goal that would’ve prevented the 6-on-4 for the 1st and the 2nd would’ve been avoided. Price gets the shaft again.
Secondary? Miller outplayed Price (esp. in SO – Price had a good game, but why is it the kid can’t seem to finish with W’s? Not his fault, but I think he lost his composure after the Sabres tied it and he just couldn’t get focused for the SO – he needs more maturity, but that comes with more experience & good coaching through adversity)
Habs special teams are hurting. They had the game to seal in the second with some glorious PP opps, but came up empty. It came back to haunt them.
Mtl. is still on the playoff bubble, for sure. I hope they can pull it off. But, prepare for an early exit nevertheless.
My favourite Cup win to date is ’76 against the team I hated the most, the Broad Street Bullies. I always had a major dislike of Bobby Clarke, although his slash on Kharlamov probably was what tipped it in favour of Canada in the Summit Series.
Blame the coaching. They had a 66% chance of putting the right defensive paring on the ice and they blew it. We only have two defenders who clear the front of the net and that is Gill and O’Byrne.
If either of those parings had been out there would not have been a Sabre standing in front of the net. The coaching tonight was Carbo-esque.
Of course my friend, I dont always agree with what people say buy always respect their right to say it. I know your a fan like me. This is our team right now, like it or not. I wish some things were different. And I also can express some anger at they way some of these guys compete. I really wanted this one for many reasons, Buf is a house of horrors for us ,It would have gone a long way to really building some confidence, instead it might hurt in the long run but I have to believe it wont or there is no hope
i agree Miller is a better goalie. My point was that after the 3rd period ended Price’s body language was so negative – looking down and shaking his head repeatedly – and it had an effect on his head (fragile to begin with). I think by the time SO came, he was just tired and pissed. A bad combo. Again, I agree he had a good game and made some nice saves, but the late goals got the better of him. Was the loss his fault? nope.
price cant buy a shutout. just for the record, fourth time hes lost one in the 3rd period, 2nd time inside 2 minutes. a good recovery game for him nonetheless

Really? Halak didn’t look so good against Tyler freakin Bozak in the shootout Saturday. Shootouts are no way to evaluate a goaltenders performance. It’s a complete crap shoot.
“…what IF We had not the key longterm injuries We had this year”
I don’t know if you even need to take it that far. I often wonder what might have been different if Markov had not been injured in game 1. Even if he got the same injury but in game 15 or 20. Right off the top of the season we never got to see what kind of chemistry Markov could have built with guys like Cammalleri & Gionta. Would a few more exciting end to end rushes and a few more power play goals at the start of the season set a different tone? Would Price have kept up the pace of his first couple of games for a little longer then he did?
So many what ifs but in the end none of them mean anything.
Not to mention the usual gord miller talking about a shutout… Every habs game he insists on talking about the shutout with 10 minutes left… One game Mcguire even called him out on it.
The game is 60 minutes. Whether they score in the 5th minute, the 29th minute, or the 59th, makes no difference. You play to the END OF THE GAME. And no one on this team does. It’s embarassing.
Yeah, pin the blame on Price. Absolutely. Didn’t your hero Jaro lose to a far worse team in the shootout in Toronto? In fact, didn’t Jaro give up the GWG to a career AHLer that made Jaro look like a Jr. C goalie?
Hey but what the hell, bash Price to your heart’s content. It’s all his fault. Everything. I believe he is responsible for all the ills in the world.
Put this on the coach not doing his job in the 3rd period and sitting on yet another lead when he should’ve had his boys attacking to extend the lead. Team sat back and let Buffalo run the 3rd period, JM did not respond with anything.
I didn’t say you blamed the goalie, you just predicted what will happen in the future by saying Price will suck again after a solid performance. I was just saying that blaming the goalie in this case is wrong.
No way you can fault Price on the last two goals. It would’ve been nice if one of the two were stopped though. Two double-minors in the 3rd. Indiscipline.
We played a terrific 50 min game. Thought in was in the bag, got
lazy, took stupid penalties, lost the war. Price had a good game but
when he shoots the puck out of the zone it always ended up on a Buffalo
stick. He tries to do to much with the puck and gets into trouble
instead of just giving it to one of his players. This loss was not his
fault he played well.
The coach told the players the game was
over by changing the lines in the 3rd. Sure not looking like a hungry
play off squad lately. Coaching is becoming a huge issue now, In my
mind I am not as comfortable with Martin as I was for the first half of
the season. Old school in a faster game maybe.
Can’t wait to play the Panthers tomorrow, I hope for 60 min. this time.
Price played a very good game, but it wasn’t over after 60 minutes and he seemed to lose his focus becuase he was pissed about what happened. It’s human, most of us would do it, but none of us get payed millions to win hockey games.
The loss is not on him, but I bet he fairs better in the shootout if he doesn’t let his mind focus on blame.
Sure I am implying alot from a look or two, but I am not accusing him of rape, I am forwarding a plausible scenario.
btw i know people are here saying this team is a bunch of losers, but i am assuming that is because we are all very emotional after that loss.
We have done this to teams as well… i don’t think Hiller, Getzlaf, Selanne, Koivu, Niedermayer are all losers just because we scored two goals in a 1:45… without a PP.
we are now 6th in the east.. sometimes shit happens
Also, people feeling bad for price should stop.. this is a team game, i feel bad for the team not price.
it’s not like Price has never let in a soft causing the team to lose.. it goes both ways.

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
Wow…Hiller just let in stinker from a cheeky little backhand flip from the blueline by Sedin.
The Habs game is over…they blew a 2-goal lead but got a point against a team they have had trouble with all season and a point that half of the people on here did not expect. Bring on Florida and hopefully they will fill the Florida net in rage. Price should feel down for this loss until he wakes up in the morning and re-focus…he had a 45-for-47 night and in those kinds of nights, the goalie is generally blameless.
Atlanta plays the Leafs and the Canes for the next 4 games. The plays the Pens/Devils/Caps to close out the season. If they don’t do great in the next 4. They’re toast. Enough said.
Good thing the Sabres (with Miller being the exception) only played 7 minutes tonight, that’s all they needed…… or else it would have been a blowout…. but let’s all say in ‘unison’ can’t blame Price…..
that was definitely one reason but he does have 517 wins to his record which places him 10th all-time.
A lot of people blame him for the Sens poor performance in the playoffs but they never had a solid goaltender when he was there. Patrick Lalime was brutal in the playoffs. I remember watching him let in two soft wristers by Nieuwendyk from the side boards just inside the blueline against the leafs in Game 7 I believe.
If there’s one certainty, it’s that you can’t win the Cup without solid goaltending.
Even Osgood stepped up his game in the playoffs after playing the entire season with a sub .900 s%
I wish French Quebecers would be satisfied with a translator relaying all the coaches comments. I understand their reservations, especially after watching the movie The Rocket, but as long as the interview is being translated on-the-fly I would hope that would allow the Habs to hire the best person available for the job, no matter the language he speaks.
What’s wrong with Pj? he’s a hell of a lot more objective than much of the HNIC crew. He’s not a top-tier speaker, but that’s part of his appeal. He seems genuinely excited, and passionate about the game and his surroundings that he stumbles through much of what he has to say – which is refreshing in a medium laced with bullies and blowhards.
“I didnt say you blamed the goalie…” “Blaming the goalie is just wrong tonight”
Whether Price’s performance was solid or not is irrelevant. I’m talking about his ego, his confidence, etc. You think you’re frustrated with the loss, think about what he’s going through. Thats not a good mindset for a goalie who just sat on the bench for 8 games dude.
I didn’t blame Price. Price played a good game. I thought he could’ve pulled off the W, but he was so disturbed in the head after Buff tied the game that he was disinterested in the SO. Can’t blame him for the tie, but he didn’t look like he cared in the SO. That’s the way I saw it.
if you read my post, you’d notice that I said the Habs blew the game with multiple PP chances gone awry in the 2nd.
you’ve got some serious bitterness issues to work out!
…Timo …You have become one of My beloved commentors in HIO …I actually enjoy You and Your complaining …at least complaining and enough is never enough mind-set has a consistentcy, logic and a humor to it (if One looks for it)
…out of reading your sniping over the past I have also accepted You really love the Habs …in Your Own quirky way
…regarding the 100 % effort thing, I think all of Us have Our circadian rhythms Timo …and I believe teams have them as well in the collective sense …Sometimes We feel great and for any number of reasons We just can’t perform
…but I think Timo, you must see other teams also comin’ up short in the NHL …and being inconsistent
…the team of course that winds up on top at the end learns to minimize inconsistency
…but, let’s enjoy the positives rather the lettin’ the negatives eat Your soul Timo …You’ll feel better ! )
Steve get to the facts man if the team had played like they should of we would not have to worry about the shootout. Say what you like Price played well for the length of time he sat out. The only IDIOTS I could see were the players that took those stupid penalites what a bunch of jerks after a 2 - 0 lead I like Halak but also think Price needs a chance to. SHAME SHAME on the players not the goalie he did not screw it up our game the experienced players were THE IDIOTS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sorry Habs but I am not on your side to-nite I am so mad about the outcome,Wake up guys we don’t have 100 points. JM was out coached by Ruff as he has been outcoached by others to………..I am to disapointed to say anything more. Good nite!!!
Thats our Habs. Dont blame the refs, blame our boys. Blame our lack of discipline. Blame the fact that we only scored once on the first 4 power plays. Blame it on the fact that we could not finish multiple times.
man.. so apparently if a big scary man with a msutache yells at the ref.. the ref is so scared that he must give constant garbage penalties to the other team.
it would be nice if JM stood up for his guys like that
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
My bad guys, I went at the Metro Centre in Halifax to see Hartlem Globetrotters with the kids, came back home to watch the game and it was 2-0… a minute after I turned the tube on the train wreck started. I sincerely apologize.
On the brighter side, I put on my A.Kostitsyn T-Shirt under my shirt tonight.. a T-shirt I hadn’t put on in a while and it seemed to have brought out the best of him tonight.
Price went back to white pads? Too bad they still lose.
“Price may not be the problem, but Halak is the solution.” – light_n_tasty
good to chat with you to Eric , seems the only time I post is to disagree with yousorry for picking on ya, but with all due respect my friend, I find the scenario, pretty far fetched.
Sorry…had to lash out at your presumption that Price is going to throw a tantrum for the Florida game when you ZERO evidence of such a thing going to happen or that it has ever happened…so if you are going to accuse me of being presumptuous, re-read your own post. Although I do agree with you that if Halak loses the first two games in the first round, Game 3 goes to Price.
How about Martin putting on the top line when trying to protect a lead when he knows that Cammalleri and Kostitsyn can’t play defense.
That was the game right there. Really, really really really really really STUPID MOVE!
Stupidest coaching move since Therrien had Bill Lindsay out for a face off.
What an idiot. He deserves to be roasted alive for that decision. He screwed the team. Maybe he should scratch himself from the lineup for his stupidity and lazy decisions behind the bench.
Price pissed….the whole team should be pissed. a very frustrating game to watch. Team plays well and price plays great….what was it 4 straight penalties against us ..sabres had 5 against them.
This loss (win) is all Linday Ruff. Boone is right. But Ruff gets the credit because of his whiny-baby tirade after Buff got 4 straight penalties. Refs hit Mtl with 12 straight minutes as they swallow their whistle entirely. That call on SK? Sheesh, there were 100 of those in the 3rd period.
I guess that’s why he’s been coaching 497 years.
Tough loss. Mtl was by far the better team for 56 minutes.
Wrong guys on the ice with 3 minutes left – with the exception of Price. They were not going to call another penalty if the Hab’s d had bothered to kick some ass in front of the net.
Hello to all the great habs fans on here. Im a new member glad to be here, Martin has to go Ive seen 10 games where we have the lead and after 40 mins he sits the team back he is coaching like he is in the 90′s still This team is a speed team with skill that cant play tough hockey if he sits them back tonight I will have to mma him when I come to town and see the Habs Saturday.
Why are we praising 50-55 minute efforts? Do we salute the surgeon who makes a terrific incision but then operates on the wrong leg? Do we admire the golfer who hits 3 good shots and then 4 puts? Do we thank the repairman who shows up on time but takes a chunk out of our wall after failing to fix the leak?
Coaches also have expiry dates, their styles do not always adapt well to new eras of hockey and JM has not done well post lockout at all. JM did very well in the clutch/grab trap hockey era that Jacques Lemaire got started and did it’s best to kill the game.
JM does not adapt well to the 3-period NHL where a 2-0 lead is not insurmountable for the opposition. He expects the lead to hold up each time and doesn’t consider that he should continue with how he’s been winning for the first 40 minutes.
So if an indivdualistic argument applies when goalies make mistakes, individualistic arguments must also apply for when he plays well. So in other words, if the goalie plays amazing and loses, he should get as much praise as he would get criticism for when he plays like crap and loses.
I’m all for Halak being number 1 right now but if anyone tries to put this loss on Price, they’re classless morons. Honestly, if you’re blaming Price for the loss you’re basically admitting you’re clueless when it comes to hockey.
The game was just karma balancing out…the win in Anaheim cancels out the loss in Buffalo…3-of-4 points in the karma-balancing games…we move on from there.
I remember when Habs Inside/out used to be filled with insightful comments from hockey-knowledgable people. Now scrolling down past the articles hurts my head
we do not have one d men who can force his will physically and and has the skating power to get the puck out when the other team pulls their goalie. markov closest but his skating still looks at 80%…all year when the other team pulls their goalie our zone is a mad scramble as the only thing our d tries to do is clear the puck to the corner and than they usually lose the battle in the corner
Anyone who can blame Carey for this game, Has no Belief in a team system, They base everything on Individuality, no idea what playing as a team means…the team shat the bed, simple as that…the goaltending was solid all game…This effin sux!
“I went to see a fight the other night…And A hockey game broke out!” ~Rodney Dangerfield~
Those blaming Martin are just looking for a scapegoat. The Pleks line was on. How is that out of the ordinary? I don’t like Cammy on and even AK46 in that situation but Martin saw them play a great game and went with them after the Gomez line just got off. I believe SK74 and Moore had played the PK that let in the 1st goal. Who did you want JM to put on? Darche-Pyatt-Metro? I can’t really blame Martin on that one. 20-20 hindsight. But I do agree on the point, from now on leave Cammy and AK46 out of important defensive zone faceoffs if possible. Doesn’t say much for those guys though.
unlucky, eh? me thinks not. Ruff pulled out all the stops in the last 3 minutes and it paid off. Martin made some boo-boos in the last minutes and it bit him. not luck – very good risk assessment.
“Why does Price fold like that?” and all variations: This kid builds a 39 save shutout against the top seed of the division and then he “folds” for letting a laser in during the shootouts. It was a laser. He wasn’t too deep or anything. This is so frustrating. First cause the team needs these points, secondly because the team needs TWO CONFIDENT GOALIES, REGARDLESS OF THEIR NAMES. Every person here (who is interested in the success of the team) should be fully frustrated with the team collapsing in front of the cold goalie in the last 3 minutes of a 39 shutout game. If you take any pleasure in this failure then you are an idiot that puts stupid preferences in front of the team’s interest.
Look I already admitted forgetting about the back to back. The comment was based on the assumption that we had at least a day off. Price has expressed dismay and a lack of focus at practice more than once from what I’ve seen reported in the media. Maybe we are viewing different outlets.
It was a 65 minute effort. The Habs were working their tails off in the last several minutes. The reality is that it’s hard to completely shut down a team (especially a good one) for an entire game.
Right, It was a general statment, Blaming the goalie is wrong tonite, Price played with what looked to be a gret deal of confidence tonight after a long layoff, He will rebound because if he can’t he shouldn’t be in this league. Trust me your right, Im super emotional and was just not in the mood for any Price bashing . I didnt see anyong blame Cammy or AK for not scoring in the SO,
Not going to blame the refs…there were chincy penalties called and not called on both sides. Price played very well…45-for-47…he did his part. For those of you blaming Price, put away your agenda, this one is definitely NOT on him.
If there is anyone to blame…blame Miller, he kept the Sabres in this with some awesome saves on 2-on-1s and a breakaway. Also, JM got out-coached by Ruff in those last 2 minutes.
Tomorrow is going to be embarrassing at work…and it might be an awfully long drive from NB to QUE for the Devils game.
Ok, the refs might have called some things in the end that normally would not have been (Markov interference for defending the crease? WTF was that!).
Bottom line is, Price was brilliant and really kept them in it when they started to fall asleep at times. The TEAM failed to protect the zone…the net was EMPTY with over 3 mins to play. Price DESERVED this win…(FRANK) I am mad!
I think this sentiment for Price is more than this one game. The SJ game for example. He played out of his mind and lost. Nashville he made 50+ saves and lost. He has had countless deflections go past him this season. This is no excuse for the many soft goals he has allowed, but I think that he has definitely not received any good fortune on the ice this season.
It’s completely out of the ordinary James. No way is it regular to have Cammalleri and AK46 on the ice defending a 1 goal lead with a minute left. Martin should have called a timeout and send out the Gomez line, which had been beyond words brilliant defensively all night.
Unbelievable! Although the team has been winning with Halak, Price played awesome, and the team let him down. All you people bashing price can go fuck yourselves, he played great no matter who the #1 goalie is, and the team stopped playing in front of him. The game should never have gone to a shootout, and a shootout is no way to judge a goalie’s play. I stick by what I said though, after we lost the back to backs with Philly…who cares if this team makes the playoffs or not, we can’t win without playing the third.
RE: MAB, I sure hope teams start playing a forward high against him. I think the biggest reason for the current PP funk, is that other teams are no longer respecting shots from the right point. The byproduct of that is teams cover the forwards down low closer and move out to cover the forward on the half-wall, this takes away a lot of the cross ice passing.
It’s probably because they know they have a playoff spot. Ever since it was clinched they’ve laid back and let things happen. Boucher needs to lay the smack down
“Not even a regular AHL Dman (Subban)”, and yet he was an AHL AllStar this year. But hey, if you watched them play one game I have got to take your astute word for it. Don’t I?
I watched the Dogs loose to the Manitoba Moose last night. PK Subban ready for prime time? Not from what I saw last night. He is not even a regular AHL dman. He must get a lot of his points by standing in front of the net on the PP – which is when and where they put him on the ice. Five on five, he is used sparingly.
The Dogs have many Cory Locke replacements, but not NHL players. The exceptions, at least last night: White (if there is a hit – he is involved), Glumac, and Belle.
Sanford was awful. Paciorettly didn’t play and his college buddy looked OK, at least not tiny.
It’s not although that mask was very nice. I haven’t seen a close-up of it yet but it looks like it’s got the 100 years logo on the chin and the CH on the top.
How many facial injuries would be prevented per year if visors were mandatory? It’s insane that the players don’t smarten up, even dumber the Board of Governors don’t want to protect their investment.
Maybe. But I also taked to two older gents who basically follow the team around (Dogs diehards who knew), and judging from there Dog outfits, watch things much more closely than me or maybe even you, who said no way PK…yet.
That’s funny all the games I’ve seen he’s outskated and outplayed everyone else. What you saw in Montreal those 2 games happens EVERY game – the end to end rushes and setups.
update – PK is now up to 17 goals – also a bulldogs team record for defenceman.
there is no doubt about his talent – he showed when he played the 2 games against a tough philly team before the olympic break – he is NHL ready
from what i understand, almost everyone agrees that PK is better off playing for an excellent team in the AHL, and hopefully winning the championship there, then he is playing for a medicore and inconsisitent NHL team.
ok – now you’ve got me started again – this usually gets me in trouble with the boss/moderator.
i believe that PK can help the habs NOW!! he is mobile, intelligent, confident, and he can fend off the unruly habs fans who everyone keeps telling me will be booing him out of the city if he makes 1 mistake.
I will leave this now – because PG and JM could not give a rats ‘ss what I think, and they know their hockey better than I ever will in 10 life times.
Funny thing about many Bulldog fans in Hamilton. They like their AHL club. They are fans of hockey, and having an AHL team in their town is great. Now consider that many of those same fans are also Toronto Maple Leaf fans as well, and you have to take some of what they say about certain players with a grain of salt.
Before the Habs moved the farm to Hamilton, the Dogs were the Oiler’s farm team, and then shared by them and Montreal before the Habs took over entirely. Hamilton Bulldogs fans are loyal to their Hamilton franchise, not necessarily all loyal and loving Montreal Canadiens fans.
Very true, Tommy. I’ve even seen a few regulars in the crowd that have removed (or in once case, X’d out with black electrical tape) the CH on the Bulldog jersey.

Cheer for the crest on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.
Now that is disheartening. We couldn’t clear the front of the net there.
I don’t know why we had the Pleks line (two guys who don’t play the PK) on there — yes AK could have gotten a trick, but having him (and Cammy) in a defensive posture is a risk.
What really chaps my ass is that a Sabre totally hooked Cammalleri to keep him from clearing the puck on the first goal. The reffing has been disgraceful
WOW, I gotta say if it was against Montreal I’d be yelling. REFS SUCK, Always trying to screw Montreal… Im loving this. MAB, cmon man get a shot from somewhere…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Natural is when the same player scores the 3 goals in sequence, with no one else scoring inbetween. Not sure how it got that name but that’s what it called, I originally thought natural meant all on Even Strength.
No one will ever take 1 good win against a tough team and say that it speaks volumes on why the Habs will win the cup or go deep into the playoffs, but every time a team plays poorly in an “important” game (they all are important) their fans use it as an example for why the team will never win in the playoffs.
Switch Pouliot and A. Kostitsyn for Backes and Umberger and then bring up Subban and we have a shot at the cup. I won’t beat it to death but this team does not have the testicle fortitude to survive in the playoffs. That is “if” we make the playoffs. Case in point is the Ottawa game. That game spoke volumes if anyone was listening.
The Montreal Canadiens are like some kind of chameleon-like creature with super powers, being the ability to play a mirrored copy of the team they are playing against. It’s like they absorb the force of their opposition. They play great against great teams and play crap against crap teams.
Not confident with the choice of Price in net tonight. I hope it works out for the best, but I think Jaro is the better choice for this one. Price can take the Fla. game tomorrow. But, hey, what do I know?
Here’s hoping for a much faster, improved game by the Habs. Oh, and a W would be real nice… and necessary!
Hey y’all…linear test and e&m lab to finish for tomoro. just got home…the day was very bad! Hope the Habs can pull one out and not make me waste my time! Go Habs!
“I gotta feeling…that tonight’s gonna be a good night!”
This is a no brainer. The game is played with the puck, if you don’t have it you hit someone to get it back. Lapierre has shown he can do neither. He “never” has the puck, when he has it for a second, he can only dump it in the oppositions zone, when he doesn’t have it he is the most frustrating player on the ice, he is single handedly the worst checker in the league, hits the boards 9 out of 10 times, never hits the player. And watching him figure skate his way around the ice simply trying to put lame pressure on the oppositions D-men was getting old last year. This guy has shown nothing this year, and I mean nothing. Just watch Pyatt and see how many good plays he makes with the puck, more in one game than Lapierre has made all year. Period.
I somewhat agree. Lapierre’s checking ability is very very overrated. All he does is rub people against the boards and yap after the whistle. I seriously can’t remember Lapierre making a big hit ever. Pyatt may not be physical but he’s much more effective at what he does – which is, as you said, making good plays with the puck.
Assessing his season as a whole, Max is the guy who deserves to sit. What he brings and what Pyatt brings are similar in value. Maybe Pyatt will sit tomorrow, since we’re playing back to back. Boone, you’re totally right about Gauthier, he was a bum when he played and his analysis is equally weak. But then again, look at the other ex-players RDS has hired. Not much better.
i agree. even in minor hockey you teach to hit with the shoulders and never push with your hands. if you watch him, he skates in fast and starts pushing as he hits. this does absolutely nothing. it doesn’t wear down the other team. it is useless. laps is a terrible passer, an average shooter and wears blinders on the ice. he is effective when he is at top speed, and this year that is a rarity.
Lapierre is my “disappointment of the year” candidate. After last year my expectations were high for Max but he’s lost his way. I don’t think it has much to do with the loss of his pal Latendresse either. His head is messed up. The claim that we need his hitting is not sound as his hitting doesn’t generate any additional offense and his lack of follow up when challenged to fisticuffs doesn’t do much in the way of any intimidation factor he might bring. Lots of furious skating around and lots of yapping but not much defence and no offense. He has to sit. In fact, I’d agree with the journalist’s suggestion that he’s on his way out. Too bad but he’s the personification of potential unrealized.
Thought the Habs played well and let’s give Carey Price props for a pretty good performance. If that’d been Halak, we’d be ranting about how he kept the team in the game, so let’s do the same for Carey. Good effort and the penalties are what cost us again tonight. Those two goals against were both ugly goals that came from prolonged pressure. Thought the call on Markov for the push was very questionable in OT. Very disappointing finish and whoever (Brunet, Martin…) says it was a good road game and a plus to come out of Buffalo with a point is lying. Playoff race, 2 goal lead with 2 minutes to go, and those are the games you need to finish out no matter the opponent.
Okay, let’s try to get a little perspective. With the point Habs move into sixth place. The point is valuable, and the fact that they went into Buffalo and came away with a point having played a decent game, is also worth noting. Both Cammalleri and Bergeron played well, and the team had two lines that consistently created offence all night. It always hurts to lose a game this way, but it happens. Swearing, blaming everyone from Betman to the stickboy, longing for past glory…none of these things will change anything, and are really pretty immature. People who get this upset about a loss should really think about finding a different hobby. For me, tonight the team is one step closer to a playoff spot, and that’s what we watch them for all season long. You can choose to believe that it’s all futile, and they’ll bow in the first round anyway, or you cand choose to believe that once they make it to the dance anything can happen. I know which one I’d pick.
It’s one of those freak things. Montreal played very well all game. I only caught the third, but they looked in prime shutdown mode. O’byrne’s penalty opened the 6 on 4 chance and goal. The last goal was inexcusable by the players on the ice. They just collapsed under the Buffalo pressure and forgot to move. Cammy and AK46 and whoever was infront were lost in knowing how to play the last minute of a game with a one goal lead.
Unbelievable. Chance to give Price the shutout and they lose the game? What the HELL did I just watch? He makes a game saving save and then it’s all over??
Sometimes I just want to smash Martin’s head you know that…..the 3rd and 4th line had NO business being out there with a 2-man advantage against them. NO business.
Gomez/Gio could use Pouliot on their PP unit, I like Metro, love what he’s given us but we need to start making a PP guy out of Pouliot, he’s a big body prescence who can work the front of the net, Metro/Gio/Gomez is too small for a PP unit.
Boone,
My friend just sent me this site and you’re going to love it. It has all those stats you try so hard to work out. In fact it has it for all sports, but here it is for the Habs
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Northeast/Canadiens.html
Seriously it’s awesome (and not my site, just really amazed at the detail).
I like the choice of Price in nets tonight. Lower pressure and a bigger challenge. Look for the team to rise to the occasion.

“love cannot drown truth, Nefertiti”
Dude. I’ve been watching the team since ’73. True, Price played well the 1st two games of the season but face it, he plays great when benched for a while but doesn’t carry the same intensity to the next game(s). I wish he did, but he doesn’t.
He is still recovering from the bang he took to the top of the head when the Habs brought him up too quickly.
A PLEK-A-NITZ – A CAMMA-LERREE - LE TIR! ET LE BUUUUUUUUUUT!!!
Oh sorry….thought the game started already
I can hear the oyoyoyoys from here.

I’m sticking with standard home jersey, my CA 15-16 jersey failed to make anything happen so I went back to the one I wore when we started the LA Kings comeback.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

And funny. You have to give him that. Timo is often funny in his negativity
My Roy is shootout-lucky.
Seriously, they win ‘em all. I say go with CAC Carey – it should give him good luck!
Timo is not a troll. He is extremely negative ALL the time unless we win 933-0, but a troll he is not.
Just heard it on Team990. Interesting.
Providing Price plays well, I have a good feeling about this game. And I didn’t have a good feeling about Toronto or Ottawa. Price just has to play well. COME ON, PRICE, SHOW YOUR STUFF.
“love cannot drown truth, Nefertiti”
Wait wait wait. Did our winning-streak-ending-back-to-back losses coincide with Lapierre’s return??? Can someone confirm this?
“love cannot drown truth, Nefertiti”
Max Lapierre sits tonight. Pyatt in.
Hey, at least you’re honest
Well, I was actually referring to your point about them needing to skate and work hard. I have a feeling you know that though.
Having said that, if little Bergy can help pop one on the PP, and avoid causing one in our end, I’ll at least refrain from disputing his purported awesomenss.
What jersey do i wear to the game tonight………93 Cup Patrick Roy, 70s style Ken Dryden, or Centennial CAC 1915 Carey Price?
Been a Habs fan since I was in 2nd grade and sat behind Patrick Roy at the Aud.
RABIB —You have your priorities in order my friend, education is very much overrated.
You are bang on in your analysis, Timo.
Come on Timo, neither of them have the Gill sexy PK pose
When is Max P back with Hamilton? Anyone know what his injury is?
Cammi and MAB are big parts of the powerplay even if they are not scoring bc they are legitimate threats that teams have to defend. With all due respect to Darche but it’s much easier to cheat away from his coverage to close another lane than it is to leave cammi.
To be quite honest, I think you would hate them too.
Pouliot isn’t making millions, but still 10 times more than I make…
no doubt.
Go Price! Shut the Sabres out, you’re due kid!
Looking forward to some Pleks/AK/Cammy magic tonight, might be a bit rusty but having Cammalleri changes that line’s dynamic a lot, Pleks has a finisher and Cammy is good at setting AK up.

hey now, I know lots of girls who hit harder than laps!!
Maybe it has to do with the 2 horrible games Halak has had against BUF this year, giving up 5 goals in each game. Price on the other hand has a win 2-1 in OT and a loss 1-0. So who would you start?
white works for Jaro
GO Carey GO!
So basically, at this point, if we go the rest of the season playing .500 hockey, we have a 0.500 chance of making the playoffs. The better our record, the more our chances increase, to the point where if we win 100% of the remaining ganes, we’ll have a guaranteed playoff berth.
“love cannot drown truth, Nefertiti”
Volchenkov with two really dirty hits in the same game last night versus Philly. No call on either play, absolutely ridiculous! The replay of the hit on Gagne shows the referee looking directly up the ice at the play. Gagne then gets 19 minutes in penalties for going after Volchenkov himself, and Volchenkov gets nothing of course. This is where Campbell has to do his job when the refs are too incompetant to do theirs on the ice. Two hits in one game like that should equal a suspension for each one.
nice post. made me laugh.
Surprisingly, Cammi has not scored much on the powerplay.
He has only 4 PP goals, same as Markov and Pouliot who’ve played fewer games, and fewer than Metro (10) and Gionta (8).
I don’t care if the start Sean Majumder in goal, I just want to win the game. Lets get a fresh thread going.

I love that Price could comb his hair different and everyone holds their breath
I wonder if NJ fans do this to Marty?
Baiting for replies HH?
I have a midterm tomorrow. Screw it, there are so many stories for tonight’s game that I can’t miss it! Price back in nets with white pads, Cam completing the first line, and MAB on the PP. Can’t wait!
everyone agrees with you.
it wasn’t that great, but it did take 7 minutes out of my life.

That’s right…. alot of losses this season can be attributed to the team’s lack of offense.
Let’s hope Cammalleri and MA Bergeron bring some spark to the power play…. and let’s hope we get some power play chances!!!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Go get ‘em Price, Cammalleri, Bergeron et all!
GO HABS GO!
Well alright but I can’t really skate well
I agree that Halak is not the reason the team has lost two in a row…however, the Leafs made him look awful in the shootout…anyway, I would have played Halak tonight and Price tomorrow, unless they want to keep Price away from the home crowd until he gets his consistency back.
The PP has gone 1-11 or so in the two games and the pucksterbating habits have come back to this team…JM better tell his players to get the puck off their sticks and towards the net.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
I agree. WE need to start scoring some goals.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
How about in November when he played so well all the team needed to do was score but couldn’t go above 2 goals a game for most of the month? Nashville was one of his greatest games ever, right after he got the team their win in Phoenix. More examples there as well.
Team not scoring in front of Price has cost them more than anything.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

I am sure either Carey will do well if he starts. We need to score early and take the lead and we won’t be riding a 3-game L streak.
So many idiots on this website… It’s amazing how many of you have only been watchign this team for a couple of weeks… First 2 games of the season? Anyone? Or is this truly the terrible level Habs fan have reached…
clearly halak’s play is not the issue here – another reason why I would play price tonight.
just give halak a night off and let’s see if price can help turn this around.
the guys on this site who fight back and forth halak vs price forget the primary objective:
WIN HOCKEY GAMES
what would happen if we put price in halak’s equipment?
the team can’t tell the difference and they play well in front of him?!
its foolproof!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
One-timer is what was missing in our PP and we have two one-timer specialist back.
I think what is critical is that we need to force the play at the start and establish a lead. JM’s system works much better when we have a lead.
You mean his ability to hit the bar after the game??
Lapierre’s physical play is poor for a player of his size. He hits like a girl.
tom pyatt replacing laps!? he better do something useful for once! otherwise i’d prefer lapierre’s ability to hit
- Team Halak V.S. Team Price…Montreal Canadiens Fans are similar to 14 year-old Girls going through Puberty.
Pouliot has been playing with our 2 best forwards and has been given 20 mins. ice time. He was lucky to have an assist 2 games ago. Last game, he recorded no hit, no shot on goal and was invisible the whole game. He better starts to skate or we need to change our 1st line.
Pyatt is fast, but is awfully small for the 4th line — I’d like to see Ryan White on the 4th in his place. And yes, White instead of Lapierre.
pierre on tsn was raving about benny’s work there….
I know, Im not trying to overly critical but sometimes I think he thinks he has all this time and then he gets checked and losses the puck.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
The save Price made was really nice, but it was totally his own fault. That puck should never have been in that position to begin with. A bad rebound led to a highlight reel save.
Touché…

He was also raving about Roy’s stickhandling which led to a turnover… I don’t know about Pierre sometimes.
It works so often for Halak, Price thought he’d give it a try.
Price somehow looks so much bigger with the white pads…
go habs go!
Gomez! Gomez! Gomez! misses a wide open net. a pee wee player would put it it.
gess that’s why he gets paid the big bucks, 7.3 mil, just so he can miss wide open net that a 1st grader would make.
so how can we get rid of that piece of crap? If we waive him, and send him to the minors, are we on the hook for only half his salary?

The past few games, Gomez stops carrying the puck into the offensive zone. He is doing the dump and chase. He should be able to do more.
Anybody knows the proper pronunciation of:

So the Isles / Rags game is in 3D tonight. I guess the Isles are bringing suckage to the 3rd dimension.

Imagine. Sony hasn’t invented a wide-screen TV large enough to contain all the suckulence of them Leafs.

The NHL needs to get with the program. No excuse to not broadcast in HD these days.
hahaa such a funny pic
PP still sucks
- Member of Team Price
Man, the PP looks alright but they just can’t catch a break. Good PK for Buffalo, they clog the lanes very well.

I know AK has a goal tonight, but he stiil looks a bit slow. This a fast game, he has to be quicker

Got a goal and injured their best center, I’m satisfied.
Gionta’s skate came dangerously close to Gomez’s face

Gio’s skate almost clipped gomer in the faaaace…That would have sucked

Nice shift, love Benny’s aggressive forecheck and Gio going strong to the net
Let’s see how our new PP looks.
A nice road period. Let’s get that PP goal in the 2nd.
Good solid period by Les Boys!
Pouliot is playing a much better game, much more physical and involved in the play and making things happen.
To start the 2nd, a Cammy one-timer from the faceoff circle to make it 2-0, you heard it here first.

Carey needs to learn the value of that.
why bring up halak dude?

sorry but shoot out practice is hardly a priority considering they don’t decide important games.

——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
My HI/O experience in a nutshell.
He should be roasted alive for this.
All I wrote was a joke…..hope I didnt offend you Harani
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I didn’t mean to blame him for the collapse. I agree the skaters blew it.
Were you around for 1993? It was sweet. I can tell ya, glory is sweet.
guys can we stop bringing up the other goalie when talking about one or the other…
I do it as well, but it’s ridiculous.

Mark my words.

You can tell what people think from looking at them?! That’s an amazing skill.. what are you doing here? IDIOT!
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
No you are wrong. Where were you during the game, do you just come out after to gloat on how bad your team is. Miller was the difference and he does not play for Fla, we will score 5 tomorrow. Then we will beat your beloved Martin F. I hate losing to but I will not continuously bash my team
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Maybe he should have used his timeout, instead.
G-Man…I agree with you great post. The players blew it BIG TIME real stupid. I am so mad I am going to bed Good nite
I disagree with you…
he is part of the team.. and by starring down your own team mates constantly, it hardly makes them want to play for you and with you
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
Also, Martin had the wrong players on the ice in the last couple of minutes. Andrei Kostitsyn does not belong on the ice with a 2 goal lead and 2 minutes to play. Even if he had a good game, he doesn’t belong on the ice at that point.
Now I understand your previous comments. Poor you.
To make a point.
A goalie should be allowed to be annoyed with his D if they played badly or could not clear guys in front and just only try to stick-check.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Don’t like Larry Robinson?
WOW .. someone effed up on the habs HARD. Im sooo Effin pissed…. F u Miller… F u Lindy Ruff…. Lindy is a Fin girls name
Please go away, you my friend haven’t a clue
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
two cents is one of the best posters here… really you’re calling him an idiot?
and let’s see… i think people have this thing… umm… called FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!! you know: angry, sad, happy,

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
Well, I said “You dropped the ball Harani…..you dropped the ball” it was all in jest
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
He lost me when we where down 2-1 to calgary 3 or 4 games into the season and he pulled the goalie and put hal gill out on the 6 on 5
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
Look at all the missed odd man rushes blown in the 3rd. These dwarfs suk it. Who gives a crap if they squeak in by 8th place. No team chokes or fails to close like these losers.
4 penalties in a row against Buffalo, Ruff goes crazy.
5 penalties in a row against Montreal, not a peep from JM.
Good thing Price didn’t look in the camera and say this one’s for you Tom….
In Guy Boucher I trust.
Are you forgetting the 5 min OT with a 4 on 3, he hardly looked disinterested then. SO are hard especially after a long layoff, Miller is just better, but he’s the best i the league
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Starting Price the night after a 40 save night. JM would have to be dumber than I think he is.
It’s a MAB MAB world.
With ya too. But it’s actually pretty tame tonight compared to some nights.
you need help
Oh sure, if the Habs miss the playoffs by 1 point, it’s because JM put the best line of the night out in the last minute of this game, the Sabres tied it up on a 6-5 and they eventually lost in a shootout that gave the team a great chance to make amends. Missing the playoffs had nothing to do with any of the other 4918+ minutes of the season or the players that played them. What a weak statement and a total cop-out.
Yup. Price is the problem. could not agree with you more.. now how come we lost against the Sens and Leafs? Oh wait, that was Price’s fault too.
Sorry, 0% correct. Points in 9 of 11 games does not sound like losers to me.
It’s a MAB MAB world.
if Miller is so great why is he minus 2 huh? they can’t paly with him on the ice ….. this team needs to work on pulled goalie situations? c’mon guys this shit happens….not sure why pleks line played that shift…but…
Hey guys- any Habs news today?
i’m glad the majority of people have acknowledged he’s not to blame. Habs fans are supposed to be the most knowledgeable when it comes to hockey afterall.
Lindy Ruff
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Gotta disagree with you Eric, since the olympics Halak has been staring down defensemen like crazy. This idea that somehow Price maliciously stares at defensemen after goals while Halak doesn’t is completely fabricated, when a goal goes in and it was a result of bad defense, they both do it.
Oh the usual panic button pushing ect ect.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
You have got to be kidding, they deserve to have 100 lashes.
btw.. good idea to keep max in the press box
also.. pouliot better give his head a shake.
i don’t care if he puts up point here and there… i want to see him make a difference, not just get lucky by touching the puck and then letting gomez and gionta doing all the work
it’s beena round 4-5 games he’s been really of… bad time to cool down

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
breath, calm down.
In Guy Boucher I trust.
Face it. JM was hired because he speaks the language. No other reason.
Maybe then youll sleep tonight knowing what you know
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
What I don’t understand, is that with an empty net on the PK, why not rifle the puck down the ice every chance you get? The worst that could happen is you miss the net, but everyone wanted to chip it up the boards. Stupid.
All the whining by Ruff on the four in a row Buffalo penalties paid off. What a suck. At least JM takes it like a man. He has more class.
Habs were robbed they were great. Now they know its pedal to the metal the rest of the way.
Halak does it too. Every goalie does it.
yes sure.. but that’s not what he said.. he said he looked like he is apart from the team.. how can you tell that? Sorry but a smart person would never say something stupid like that.
Please prove me wrong. tell me of anyone you know who can look at someone and know what they are thinking. Sure you can see a guy who looks happy or sad but not someone who wants a trade or lonely or feeling apart from the team…
I look at twocents avatar and i see a 12 year old.. does this count?!
I just hope hes not D’agostiniing it…
It would have taken a head shot to get another call.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Hey doofus. Read the post. I never said that Price is the problem.
Does he have a history of getting worked up after losses, yes.
Does he have fragile confidence that can easily be exploited by an early goal? yes
Do we have a chance of finishing higher than 8? I suppose, but whether we play Pit or Was, we’re out in 4.
He does speak French. Big problem here…
This team tried all game only to have the lead taken away within 1 minute…
wow, you got all that for a look. Hope you had a parachute on, cuz thats a huge leap in logic.
Price kept them in the game. Period!
Are you one of the guys with the wig last week?
You’re missing half my posts then!!!!
The game was over!
I could go on but I’ll stop.
if you take how i felt after parise tied the game, and multiply by 3, that’s how i feel right now.
Halak actually does the same thing quite a bit..
Agreed. I think Gill tried that once or twice. But missed.
What I said earlier about 2-0 leads.
I forgot that we play back to back games.
It’s a MAB MAB world.
Painful.
you know what, about 1o minutes after I punched my cofee tabe, i realized that the outplayed one of the top teams in the east, so you know what, stay out of the penalty box, and we are ok. no shoot outs in the play-offs. good game, maybe poetic justice for the anaheim game
no more blowing leads from here out though!!

I really feel sorry for Carey Price, listening to the post game interview. He played an outstanding game. The team doesn’t deserve him imo.

Anyone who blames price is just wrong
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
I guess the moderators aren’t bothering with the censoring. Probably cursing as well.
Yea I follow this team but refuse to act like you, Blaming the goalie is just wrong tonight unless you blame Miller for winning it
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Is it the team or is it coaching that leads to this crap system when we have the lead?
And the Habs snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again. Too many 3rd period penalties cost the 2 points. Complete loss of momentum at the end did the rest. Ruff’s move was sheer desperation. 99 times out of 100 the team on PK clears the puck and probably scores an empty netter. Tonight, the Sabres got lucky while Price continues with the black cloud over his head. Too bad, too; he played an excellent 57 minutes.
I really haven’t noticed halak do it… maybe the camera just zooms in more on price… i dunno.
to me it seems like price does it a lot, but maybe i am wrong

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
leave it to the Habs to take it to OT
Bingo!
Now for JM to throw the shootout away with 2 for 8 Gomez and 2 for 16 Plekanec…

Yeah seriously
JM holding the lead tactic: Team holds back, avoids that 3rd goal that would’ve prevented the 6-on-4 for the 1st and the 2nd would’ve been avoided. Price gets the shaft again.

http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Yep yep.
Why do you watch them Timo?
I’m not trashing on you, I’m asking for real. Why do you like and follow the team?
If it is just them losing that you can’t handle then maybe you should tape the games and only watch them on the days they win.
It’s a MAB MAB world.
Price bashing is starting. After he made 39 saves and the team stopped playing…
the analysts on l’antichambre are idiots
saying bergeron is better than spacek on D….
go P.J.! I feel so bad for him arguing with dimwits
The racist bastards or the Subban supporters, lol!! I wish I was, then at least I would have been at the game.
Sabres will crap out early in the playoffs. Then Ruff will fill up his depends.
we’re going to lose in 15 seconds
The real story? Ruff outcoached Martin
Trade Price now while we can still get some good used equipment for him.
Post game interview? I’d love to see that. Who interviewed him?
and he was soooooooo outstanding in the shootout, allowing 2 goals. notice how Price always finds a way to lose. Price= loser!
Markov just cost us the game :/

Abe Hefter of CJAD I believe.
What a dive.
Well game over!
Amazing how they’re quiet all night until now
- Member of Team Price
Well said!
SIX straight powerplays for Buffalo now. Lindy Ruff intimidated the refs into this.
FFFFFF!!! This game is like a loss! should NEVER have gotten to this!
11/14 is pretty good if you ask me.
Put this loss on the PLAYERS not closing the deal. a 2 goal lead with less than 3 minutes left and the PLAYERS blew it.
i can’t watch this team anymore. my heart is gonna quit
Now that was stupid.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
I CANNOT keep track of the number of times this has happened this season. Probably over a dozen.
This team has no heart, no guts. They’ve blown so many games in the last minute it’s disgusting.
True that. And I’m no fan of PJ
To hell with these refs
Jesus man, pay attention.
Where in my post did I blame the goalie?
Do you just see words and make assumptions about content before actually reading?
Of course my friend, I dont always agree with what people say buy always respect their right to say it. I know your a fan like me. This is our team right now, like it or not. I wish some things were different. And I also can express some anger at they way some of these guys compete. I really wanted this one for many reasons, Buf is a house of horrors for us ,It would have gone a long way to really building some confidence, instead it might hurt in the long run but I have to believe it wont or there is no hope
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Poor Pricey, gotta feel for him
But there’s never been any times that the team has worked hard and had him let in a softy?
That road goes both ways my friend. Carey played a great game….the kid’s just unlucky.

i agree Miller is a better goalie. Was the loss his fault? nope.
All that Pierre monster talk jinxed us..
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
What about Cammy and AK for not scoring, are they losers too

Good post, and I agree, but it doesn’t really take away the sting of tonight’s loss.
price cant buy a shutout. just for the record, fourth time hes lost one in the 3rd period, 2nd time inside 2 minutes. a good recovery game for him nonetheless

Really? Halak didn’t look so good against Tyler freakin Bozak in the shootout Saturday. Shootouts are no way to evaluate a goaltenders performance. It’s a complete crap shoot.
Gainey has succeeded in putting together the worst bunch of non closers in the NHL.
It’s a MAB MAB world.
Lets just take the 2 points and get the fuccccccck out my god

Wonder if French swearing get moderated?
TABERNAC! ON AVAIT DEUX POINTS EN BANC!
Ruff coaches, gambles and basically outwitted Martin, Martin keep exhausted players on the ice, many who have missed 20 games recently
But he speaks French! Doesn’t that automatically make him the best defencemen on the team going by RDS logic?

Oh no…Price not so good in shoot outs!
The game is 60 minutes. Whether they score in the 5th minute, the 29th minute, or the 59th, makes no difference. You play to the END OF THE GAME. And no one on this team does. It’s embarassing.
I miss the old days with real OT… this 4-4 crap sucks
or as vain as tatooing your name on your back?
Is that a joke?
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
Guess Martin didn’t go to the Ruff School of Pity Parties.
Give them credit. They played an excellent 58 minutes of hockey. It’s the last two minutes were a horror story..
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Price….you are a great goalie and you do not deserve this crap in Montreal. Request to be traded in the summer kid.
I hope Cammi cashes one in the shootout

Gary Bettman has ruined hockey..
Shooters…AK46, Cammy, Gionta, Monster Moore, Plek
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
Someone please ask JM why he had Cammy and AK46 on to defend a 2-1 lead in the last moments of the game?????
No Gomez please — AK-Cammy-Gio
Halak has been giving glares after almost every goal since the olympics. Every goalie in the league does it when the defense is at fault for a goal.
c’mon you gutless crappy habs. do what you do best: LOSE!
JM is the worst coach in the NHL. his damn passive style costs them games always!
Boone please give us some perspective here! I can’t take some of the dribble on these message boards.
The torch be yours to hold it high!
Wasn’t it Sergei?
Put this on the coach not doing his job in the 3rd period and sitting on yet another lead when he should’ve had his boys attacking to extend the lead. Team sat back and let Buffalo run the 3rd period, JM did not respond with anything.

Whether its reflected in the statistics or not, we have got to be one of the worst shootout teams in the league.
Our shooters are terrible.
Do we even practice?
I didn’t say you blamed the goalie, you just predicted what will happen in the future by saying Price will suck again after a solid performance. I was just saying that blaming the goalie in this case is wrong.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
No way you can fault Price on the last two goals. It would’ve been nice if one of the two were stopped though. Two double-minors in the 3rd. Indiscipline.
This is where Price sharts the bed. I’ve seen this movie already
Can’t wait to play the Panthers tomorrow, I hope for 60 min. this time.
Let me guess: PRICE HAD NO CHANCE ON THE FIRST SHOOTOUT GOAL!
Garbage game…..
Thank you coach JM!
Another sad day for Pricey.
Why does Price fold like that? Why? WTF?
Look who’s in the house. Good to see you, Earl.
Does Abe’s wife still have her bread recipe on file?
But Markov got called for exactly that in OT
Oh man, Price is pissed.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Easy for you to say….

“There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge….”
–Hunter S. Thompson
That’s a kick in the nuts. Wow. WOW.
Wow.
btw i know people are here saying this team is a bunch of losers, but i am assuming that is because we are all very emotional after that loss.
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
I remember that Bill Lindsay decision. I’ll never forgive him for that.
I’d say Carbo playing Huet over Halak against the Leafs was worse.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Let me guess again: PRICE HAD NO CHANCE ON THAT SECOND SHOOTOUT GOAL!!!
Go ahead, say it. Idiots.
That’s why i listen to the game on CJAD
The torch be yours to hold it high!
Frak me. Two undeserved points handed to Buffalo by inept referees
Atlanta plays the Leafs and the Canes for the next 4 games. The plays the Pens/Devils/Caps to close out the season. If they don’t do great in the next 4. They’re toast. Enough said.
Crap,
this is all on JM, he got out-coached in the last 3 minutes.
I agree. Price has to be more careful with the puck. Besides that, I think he played a great game.
Leafs, Sens , Sabres……we are dead.
Good thing the Sabres (with Miller being the exception) only played 7 minutes tonight, that’s all they needed…… or else it would have been a blowout…. but let’s all say in ‘unison’ can’t blame Price…..
Martin blew the game with his decision to put on the Pleks line in the last two minutes.
That was the game right there.
Stupid.
Stunned.
that was definitely one reason but he does have 517 wins to his record which places him 10th all-time.
Yeah Halak looked worse against the second laffs game in the shootout last game..
That doesn’t exist. Return to pipe dream. Leave us alone.
And with 58 Minutes left thats where the Team shits the bed..Not price…he did what he could…the team shat the bed…diarhea style
“I went to see a fight the other night…And A hockey game broke out!” ~Rodney Dangerfield~
I hope this team plummets to the bottom of the standings.
Can’t blame Price when the team in front of him folds like a cheap card table.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Do they post those online?
Good job sharthead. Get back to the rodeo now.
Let me guess, Halak would have had a 42 game shutout against a team that’s lit him for for 10 goals in two games. Get a life.
agree
Martin then abandons his defensive first strategy in the last two minutes and puts on two of the worst defensive forwards and boom…tie game.
I think he should have to drive back to Montreal tonight. I wouldn’t want him on the plane after screwing over his team like that.
We snatched defeat from the hands of victory tonight!!!
Not good…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
What a BS end to the game.
How can you not feel so bad for Carey? Played so well, worthy of that shutout he had going. Then his team self-destructs in front of him. Brutal.
Oh, nonsense.
The box score on ESPN says 42 shots. Are you sure it’s 47?
Clearly the D left him hanged out to dry.
I cant wait to see all the morons on this site blame this loss on price.
oh piss of dude… seriously… how many times has priced crapped out for the habs…
poor baby millionaire price.. ask to get traded.. life must be oh so tough
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
I don’t believe in curses, but I bet carey price does…
“it’s not like Price has never let in a soft causing the team to lose..
it goes both ways.”
That’s absolutely true. You know what happens then? He gets trashed on this site. Praise and criticism should go both ways as well.

Quit parroting McGuire
JM, ruining Price’s best games since November.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
I had no issue with what you said. You did kick a hornet’s nest with that statement it seems.
That’s what you call a heartbreaker.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Shut up man, Price stopped 45 of 47 shots. It should never have even gotten to that point, his team blew it.
It kinda feels like we’re on the other side of what we did to Anaheim a couple of weeks ago
40-42 is gen. a blameless night for a goalie too.,
This SO loss is all the fault of JM. IDIOT.
Andrew, I’ll trust you that Halak has turned to that. I haven’t seen it myself, but I don’t figure you’d make it up. That’s unfortunate.
I have seen Price do it though, far too much.
I’ll say this: it should have never gotten to that.
You are an idiot, sir.
Thats our Habs. Dont blame the refs, blame our boys. Blame our lack of discipline. Blame the fact that we only scored once on the first 4 power plays. Blame it on the fact that we could not finish multiple times.
Easy, just scroll down.
It’s tiresome.
markov did kick ass in front of the net in OT.. and he DID get a penalty
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
unfortunately… that is not the way it goes for goalies.. wether we like it or not.
if a softy is shot on net, well the defense men or offensive players can’t stop the puck for the goalie…
thus it is solely the goalie’s fault
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
man.. so apparently if a big scary man with a msutache yells at the ref.. the ref is so scared that he must give constant garbage penalties to the other team.
it would be nice if JM stood up for his guys like that
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
Cool. Won’t mention the beauty 5 holler in the shootout.
“Price may not be the problem, but Halak is the solution.” – light_n_tasty
whiskey anyone?
good to chat with you to Eric , seems the only time I post is to disagree with yousorry for picking on ya, but with all due respect my friend, I find the scenario, pretty far fetched.
looks like I’m going to owe you that beer, though
I HOPE THE HABS LOSE ALL THEIR REMAINING GAMES! THEY’RE LOSERS! JUST LIKE THEIR COACH!
I hate this team! they can all go to hell!
I know…just clarifying
Sorry…had to lash out at your presumption that Price is going to throw a tantrum for the Florida game when you ZERO evidence of such a thing going to happen or that it has ever happened…so if you are going to accuse me of being presumptuous, re-read your own post. Although I do agree with you that if Halak loses the first two games in the first round, Game 3 goes to Price.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
We will miss the playoffs by this 1 point.
Team plays well and price plays great….what was it 4 straight penalties against us ..sabres had 5 against them.
arghhhhhhhhh…
Are you trying to say that NO OTHER GOALIE besides Price has ever allowed a 5-hole goal in the shootout?
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
This loss (win) is all Linday Ruff. Boone is right. But Ruff gets the credit because of his whiny-baby tirade after Buff got 4 straight penalties. Refs hit Mtl with 12 straight minutes as they swallow their whistle entirely. That call on SK? Sheesh, there were 100 of those in the 3rd period.
I guess that’s why he’s been coaching 497 years.
Tough loss. Mtl was by far the better team for 56 minutes.
they are definitely NOT winners… they are somewhere in between.
Then again the devils, capitals, sharks and red wings have all lost to the leafs…. weird things happen in the NHL.
unfortunately.. seems like they happen a bit to often with our habs
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
WHY CAN’T THEY EVER PLAY TO WIN INSTEAD OF PLAYING NOT TO LOSE???????
I don’t understand the mentality of JM. oh I forgot he’s french.
two cents, if we follow your logic, then Halak should be the coach
))
won’t mention the 3 times the laffs beat halak in the shootout last week (i know kessel hit the crossbar but still)
The torch be yours to hold it high!
Trust me man, they’re there. They just got washed away onto page 2.
When the game was on the line and the pressure was on, Martin and this team caved. Is this our playoff team?
Gotta agree with you; that was dumb by JM.
Wow, very tough game. Price not great in the shootout, but the last goal in regulation was very soft work by the Habs.
Clearly!
I don’t do that often, especially not lately. Oh well!
I agree! I’m a big PJ fan!
It’s funny how good he looks on L’Antichambre even though his french is limited
Wrong guys on the ice with 3 minutes left – with the exception of Price. They were not going to call another penalty if the Hab’s d had bothered to kick some ass in front of the net.
I agree! I’m a big PJ fan!
It’s funny how good he looks on L’Antichambre even though his french is limited
I could be wrong…I was under the impression that it was 42 shots after regulation.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Its whipcream on poo fellas.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Wow, yip, all his fault. *rolleyes*
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
So if an indivdualistic argument applies when goalies make mistakes, individualistic arguments must also apply for when he plays well. So in other words, if the goalie plays amazing and loses, he should get as much praise as he would get criticism for when he plays like crap and loses.
Price looked tired. He needs another month off.
100% correct Timo!!
Not strong enough. We need cyanide after this one.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
They’re thinking about removing the blue lines and making the net round and putting it up on a post, making goaltending a penalty not a position.
I disagree with your opinions and since you seem to be a pyschiatrist, I won’t argue with you.
MERDE!
I posted this 1 hour before the game on the main page. And we now know who out coached whom don’t we.
(Sure hope Jacques Martin can out coach Sabers Lindsay Ruff tonight. But he is a cagey vet.)
I wish there was technology that would allow me to cyber fight you, because a comment like that really deserves a kick in the nuts
Thanks for the support.
You can’t please all the people, all the time, though.
…Hypothetically speaking
…WHAT IF You had nuttin’ to complain about ?
…Timo, You would be but a Man without a purpose

It is.

I agree… which is why people here are praising price, and I think he played great this game…
really this game was lost due to O’byrne’s brain fart.
but I don’t feel bad for Price, I feel bad for the team
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
I’m all for Halak being number 1 right now but if anyone tries to put this loss on Price, they’re classless morons. Honestly, if you’re blaming Price for the loss you’re basically admitting you’re clueless when it comes to hockey.
I cant understand why any fan would take pleasure in the habs losing
The torch be yours to hold it high!
The game was just karma balancing out…the win in Anaheim cancels out the loss in Buffalo…3-of-4 points in the karma-balancing games…we move on from there.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Just stunned, I hate Buffalo
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
I remember when Habs Inside/out used to be filled with insightful comments from hockey-knowledgable people. Now scrolling down past the articles hurts my head
Those attempting to fault Price in this loss disgust me…
Hate on the guy for his off ice antics or previous performances but he and Miller put on a clinic between the pipes tonight.
PP was weak, Martin’s call was weak and the loss was unfortunate and painful.
Read what Habs Addict has to say:
http://www.habsaddict.com/2010/03/montreal-buffalo-sabres-rally-late-to.html
we do not have one d men who can force his will physically and and has the skating power to get the puck out when the other team pulls their goalie. markov closest but his skating still looks at 80%…all year when the other team pulls their goalie our zone is a mad scramble as the only thing our d tries to do is clear the puck to the corner and than they usually lose the battle in the corner
I do believe you are over-reacting my friend!
unlucky, eh? me thinks not.
So much BS everywhere in and around this team.
Look I already admitted forgetting about the back to back. The comment was based on the assumption that we had at least a day off. Price has expressed dismay and a lack of focus at practice more than once from what I’ve seen reported in the media. Maybe we are viewing different outlets.
With you 100%
Out coached, big time!
It was a 65 minute effort. The Habs were working their tails off in the last several minutes. The reality is that it’s hard to completely shut down a team (especially a good one) for an entire game.
Or putting Kovalev on the ice in that game. Man was he terrible.
Heartbreaking!
Man I feel for price on this one.
Oh well, they still played a great game…
The point puts us one up on Philly. Lets hope they lose tomorrow against Minny, and the Habs keep it together and stick it to the Panthers
I didnt see anyong blame Cammy or AK for not scoring in the SO,
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Tomorrow is going to be embarrassing at work…and it might be an awfully long drive from NB to QUE for the Devils game.
Ok, the refs might have called some things in the end that normally would not have been (Markov interference for defending the crease? WTF was that!).
Bottom line is, Price was brilliant and really kept them in it when they started to fall asleep at times. The TEAM failed to protect the zone…the net was EMPTY with over 3 mins to play. Price DESERVED this win…(FRANK) I am mad!
Embarrassing…
Is he any relation to that guy that coaches buffalo?
agreed. 100%.
I’m not suggesting they needed to shut them down. I’m suggesting they get the puck out of their zone. They couldnt even do that.
rofl anyone who blames Price is gutless.
I hinted in a post below that making the playoffs wasn’t a given for us at this point.
Cause he sucks, chokes, call it what u will.
I think this sentiment for Price is more than this one game. The SJ game for example. He played out of his mind and lost. Nashville he made 50+ saves and lost. He has had countless deflections go past him this season. This is no excuse for the many soft goals he has allowed, but I think that he has definitely not received any good fortune on the ice this season.
you know what’s funny… I have read so many times the “anyone who blames price for this game is stupid blah blah blah” posts.
and yet i see no one blaming price…
i think everyone can agree he had nothing to do with the loss.
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
Cool, won’t mention how bad AK and cammy were in the SO either
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Do you think Price has much faith in this team anymore?
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
No, not like a loss, it is a loss.
It’s completely out of the ordinary James. No way is it regular to have Cammalleri and AK46 on the ice defending a 1 goal lead with a minute left. Martin should have called a timeout and send out the Gomez line, which had been beyond words brilliant defensively all night.
a very narrow minded coach we have, no emotion, no passion no flexibility,,i hope Carey high sticks him, over and over
Woah! What happened to my comment? As far as I know, I didn’t write anything bad or offensive. Anyone got an idea?
“I gotta feeling…that tonight’s gonna be a good night!”
There’s actually about 20 posts on this page blaming Price.
Yeah I find those “what if” scenarios completely irrelevant. Who knows? If Halak played we could have won 5-0 or lost 5-0.
I stick by what I said though, after we lost the back to backs with Philly…who cares if this team makes the playoffs or not, we can’t win without playing the third.
sk74 has to gain some strenght for next year as on the firts goal he was too weak
Fair enough. I’m just saying that it was a great and complete effort tonight.
I JUSS WAN A TASTE OF THE GLORY.
SEE WHAT IT TASTES LIKE.
agreed… he is the anti tim thomas of last year
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
i think using price tonight is a good choice, it breaks the negative trend of 2 straight losses.
i also think that if price can win tonight, he will play until he loses.
any team that can go into buffalo and beat miller would be considered a real threat come playoff time.
i hope price stands on his head and we win 2-1 (empty netter)
MAB? if i’m ruff i over play my forward on that side very high and take away the shot.
if we can sneak cammy in down low on the same side as MAB, he might be open for a one timer on the PP.
certainly tough to be confident about our chances tonight – but i’m hopeful – this group has really surprised me before.
i still think we’d be a better team with PK – but i may be the only guy left in the city who feels that way.
2-1 empty netter? Think about it…
Boone called it re: the refs evening out the penalties.
And Price is playing tonight like he wants to play tomorrow.
He’s playing like he wants to play in May and beyond!!!
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
Awesome PK forecheck by Gomez, and an offside.
Gomez again! Heroic.
I wonder how this game would have turned out with the LAROCK EFFECT.
Good game Sergei
It’s probably because they know they have a playoff spot. Ever since it was clinched they’ve laid back and let things happen. Boucher needs to lay the smack down
dude – did you ever think they are getting ready for the playoffs?
are you kidding about PK?
PK has broken the dogs record for assists by a defenceman – playing tons of minutes of course
he is on pace as the rookie of the year in the AHL. and is considered the #1 defenceman in the AHL.
do you think all this could be possible by using a guy sparingly 5 on 5?
You say he is used sparingly five on five. Subban is +40 on the year, & this does not come from being used sparingly 5 on 5.
I had similar feelings from the Saturday game against Marlies, but haven’t watched any other games so can’t really tell..
Damn, Pyatt is everywhere, and Miller again. Pyatt has earned another start, IMO
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
the same way he misses all the other open nets.
Yeah, I saw that Andrew, that’s exactly why this league remains a garage league, the stupid mentality that vigilante justice makes it a tough game.
Time will come, just like the helmet rule, all of those crap will eventually disappear.
We can only hope!
I love that Carey is wearing white pads
I love the white pads, he should have never switched, but the mask? yikes

Deadly.
With Cammy, Bergeron and Darche in, and with Lapierre out, these are the four best lines we’ve iced all year.
Terrible give away by Hamr
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
does anyone else think Price looks huge in his net? I know that it’s the white pads but I’m amazed at the difference
Clear interference by Buffalo on Gorges there.
he’s also 6’3 or whatever . maybe you’re just used to our little friend jaro?
either way, i like it.
i know he’s tall, i’m just surprised.
I disagree. With Moen in the lineup it would be the four best lines we’ve iced all year.
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
Kinda sad that Moen is out considering he was one of the few Hab’s that’s played in every game until tonight.
What a difference it makes when you forecheck and backcheck…Forwards look agressive tonight…Play like that all night and they will win…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
No Moen and Laps leaves a serious amount of muscle off the checking lines, White should be called up, Maxwell should be sent down.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
The new pads look huge. My first thought was “are those legal?”.
I personally think that White pads have a big advantage to darker pads.
not as easy to see the holes when you have white pads against white ice
Just glad his injury was not that severe…could have been very bad…he needs a visor
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
100% agree
If we were playing a physical team I would agree but we are playing the sabres who play a very similar style to our own.
The torch be yours to hold it high!
Pouliot better shows up. It seems that he is afraid to use his body.
Oops — you’re right!
True, but a checking line is a checking line, Moore’s line is missing a lot without Moen’s prescence.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Doing better in the neutral zone tonight.
i think his old pads were smaller than regulation for mobility purposes
I think that might be Price’s Tri-city Americans helmet?
How does Gomez miss that!!!
- Member of Team Price
i know what you mean though. he can look small sometimes.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Damn, just Damn
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
No, it’s a Habs centennial helmet. It was on this site months ago.
chin has habs 100 on it
It’s not although that mask was very nice. I haven’t seen a close-up of it yet but it looks like it’s got the 100 years logo on the chin and the CH on the top.
- Member of Team Price
Somebody nail that Kaleta S&*^!
must have been a hottie sitting in the first row lol
I think Gomez’s stick was lifted at the last second.
Price looks solid, I like it, he’s always at the right place.
I don’t think it’s that one. Wasn’t that one auctioned off after the centennial game?
- Member of Team Price
Save it for Kaleta Ryan, you may need to teach him a lesson later on.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

Not in Buffalo
- Member of Team Price
Connolly should wear a visor.
wow wear a shield
Ouch! Hopefully no damage to the eye.
How many facial injuries would be prevented per year if visors were mandatory? It’s insane that the players don’t smarten up, even dumber the Board of Governors don’t want to protect their investment.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

Hahaha, loved that Price clip. He can make me laugh sometimes.

Watch it there SF, someone might jump in and call you a little girl.
I got called a little girl last night for saying sucker punches should be illegal haha.
Seriously. So much try in that kid.
geez if only gomez came at a cheaper price.. we wouldve totaly won that trade
.::moen & georges for co-captains::.
Pyatt is looking to keep Lapierre out of the lineup for awhile, wow.
“because three straight Ls will have many jittery Montreal fans scratching their heads and trying to remember where they put their Panic buttons.”
hahaha. I was thinking about looking for mine Monday night. Will I have to after tonight’s game?
I just found mine – I hit the button and it said “That was easy!”.
It seems to be going downhill though. Good ol’ Ryan Miller.
That would indeed be awesome.
SMart play by Sergei to shoot 5 hole there, good chance of a rebound.
good focus by price seeing the pass from behind the net

Poor Price. Worst luck ever.
Goddamm deflections.
Price just can’t buy a shutout, doesn’t matter how well he plays.
Damn it.
Nothing’s. Ever. Easy. For the Habs.
Oh sh#t…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
***t!
F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s Carey Price’s fault
Amazing- Price almost had that. WOuld have been the save of the year. Goal or no goal, Price has been solid.
…just thought I’d get that out there for all the haters out there
****in’ eh! Can’t catch a goddamn break.

lol
thats the easy button!
i used to have one
Unless McDonagh turns out to be amazing, we won that trade.
[Timo]He doesn’t even score every time he touches the puck. HE SUCKS, PERIOD![/Timo]
Wow, the Sabres are begging us to take the 2-0 lead. The PP MUST get a goal here.
They still didn’t shot from the point on the PP. WTF.
Another PP…gotta score…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
Come on Habs. We keep getting these gift pp’s we NEED to score!
This is crazy. 3 PP’s in a row.
Edit: 4!
Thank God.
second
exactly right!
AK46 IS ON FIRE!!!!
2!
absolute f**** garbage. F*** Cindy Ruff and his slugs
Not Price’s fault at all. This is what happens when you can’t clear your zone
Unbelievable.
Un-freaking-believable.
WTF
JUST ONCE can effing Price hold the damn fort???
JEEEEEZUS
Fiddlesticks!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Wow…Houston we got a problem…Can’t blame Price for that…all they had to do was clear it out
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
Lol team way to win it for Price tonight! Nice 2000000 clear attempts that did not get out of the zone. Fukin pathetic
Now that is disheartening. We couldn’t clear the front of the net there.
I don’t know why we had the Pleks line (two guys who don’t play the PK) on there — yes AK could have gotten a trick, but having him (and Cammy) in a defensive posture is a risk.
Halak would have saved that
I only expect one thing from Carey Price….. to win 1 f***in game!!!
Man, Carey can’t buy a break.
- Member of Team Price
FRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i cant effin believe they let that happen,,,

This is not Price’s fault….
In Guy Boucher I trust.
Good frickin point, why the hell was the 1st line on?
I agree
What really chaps my ass is that a Sabre totally hooked Cammalleri to keep him from clearing the puck on the first goal. The reffing has been disgraceful
I cannot believe this ***t
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I agree.
FML!!!!!!!!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it comes to Hockey).
Price needs to get out of Montreal just for his own sanity — his confidence must be in shambles the way we play in front of him!
That’s because he’s not nearly good enough.
From Carey? Expect nothign from the D and the team in front of him?
I was thinking the same thing. Out coached by Ruff.
i.e. standing on his head to do what was humanly possible.
THat’s BS. Price made some fantastic saves in between.
I hope that was sarcasm because otherwise you are a freakin’ tool.
First goal he went down for no reason and then couldn’t cross.
Second goal he was on his stomach. Maybe you can tell me why.
Ever play goal, fool?
Happy face!

we’re outskating them big time
Lindy Ruff is going to go ballistic on these refs before long, but every call so far is a clear penalty.
dominic moore with the kick play again …
Buffalo (and Lindy Ruff by extention) are having a meltdown here
But seriously, thats a horrible call.
Ruff is such an irritating penis head.
I think Lindy might not be too happy

until anyone gets 11 in a row against like we did, they have no right to complain.
WOW, I gotta say if it was against Montreal I’d be yelling. REFS SUCK, Always trying to screw Montreal… Im loving this. MAB, cmon man get a shot from somewhere…

it drives me nuts, somehow always remember him scoring against us!
go habs go!
What is an unnatural (as opposed to natural) hat-trick?
Natural is when the same player scores the 3 goals in sequence, with no one else scoring inbetween. Not sure how it got that name but that’s what it called, I originally thought natural meant all on Even Strength.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

3 in a row. as opposed to 3 in a game
ahah good one!
Thanks guys for the clarification.
go ak46 go.
no way
SOmeone help Price.
2-1 + empty netter= 3-1
thanks for the heads up – my bad
THIS IS WHY YOU DON’T SIT BACK JACQUES MARTIN!
i want Price to get an empty net, he deserves at least that…….f my lfe! why does this always happen!!!!!!!!!!
cant even get the puck outta the zone jesus
“I went to see a fight the other night…And A hockey game broke out!” ~Rodney Dangerfield~
I hope this guy prays hard for a great game in nets for Carey Price and a huge victory for the Habs over the Sabres tonight.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
We have to win tonight people. If we can’t beat a division leader in such a game then what can we expect in the playoffs?
See April 2009 for reference.
No one will ever take 1 good win against a tough team and say that it speaks volumes on why the Habs will win the cup or go deep into the playoffs, but every time a team plays poorly in an “important” game (they all are important) their fans use it as an example for why the team will never win in the playoffs.
Just saying
It’s a MAB MAB world.
This is bizzaro game with all these penalties going in Montreal’s favour.
So I doubt we’ll get another powerplay the rest of this game haha
The Montreal Canadiens are like some kind of chameleon-like creature with super powers, being the ability to play a mirrored copy of the team they are playing against. It’s like they absorb the force of their opposition. They play great against great teams and play crap against crap teams.
i absolutely believe that, just look at how we play against the leafs and panthers. then against the caps and pens and sabres.
Good thing we’re going to be playing tough teams in the playoffs then.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Not confident with the choice of Price in net tonight. I hope it works out for the best, but I think Jaro is the better choice for this one. Price can take the Fla. game tomorrow. But, hey, what do I know?
Here’s hoping for a much faster, improved game by the Habs. Oh, and a W would be real nice… and necessary!
What a save by Miller.
Wow, what a stop by Miller
- Member of Team Price
Ryan freaking Miller. Buffalo seems to be able to find some gems between the pipes with him and stealing Hasek from Chicago
Damn you Miller!
Thats not a great save…thats a bad shot!
go habs go!
I’m really regretting not going to the game tonight
- Member of Team Price
Wow the identical save twice in a row! Have to get it up to score on him
2 things…
1) Those who said that Cammy coming back would lift AK out of his fog, appear to be right.
2) One more Buff penalty and Lindsey Ruff’s head will explode
Miller is playing great.
Plek flubbed the shot, but nice save my Miller anyways.
Miller the party killer.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
How long until Lindy Ruff bullies the officials into a BS call?
I dont think it will happen. I think they are, keep yelling, im seeing ALOT of penalties…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
hahahah PM: ‘what is vanek doing?!. what is he doing?? he needs to start bringing some jam to the party.”
I don’t know what Hill was thinking, Price saved his bacon.
Pyatt really hussles. Good for him.
and gomez has a bad cap hit Vanek’s cap hit is $ 7,142,857 …
watching the game it is so clear that the habs need at least one more d who can skate with the puck out of the zone and give the forwards support…
Come on Carey………..
Well there’s the BS call.
There’s your BS penalty. Price didn’t even play the puck.
I don’t understand why the whistle wasn’t blown right a way as OB played it.
- Member of Team Price
Price…
That’s a bogus call on Pricey. Ruff got to them.
this game has the stupidest penalties being called.. these refs should be fired
trap Fing hell that and no touch icing one has to go the other has to come in
Bah, not much Price could have done there. Bad luck.

I thought the goalie had to play the puck just not have it hit him in the skate?
“Without the strength of the past, the team may face a choice – to win, or to be French-Canadian?” — Ken Dryden
Where is Pouliot? haven’t seen him in the second period.. Nevermind there he are
Last I checked the goalie has to either cover it with his glove or play it with his stick.
Maybe the new look means something. The Price is white. Perhaps un jeu blanc?
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
A little bit of both. Obviously it was a make-up call but Carey’s just gotta know where he is next time
He was skating away, he just couldn’t move his leg any other way to push off. It was by far the cheesiest delay of game penalty I’ve ever seen.
We need another goal. ASAP
You had to go and say it….
- Member of Team Price
It is a stupid rule eh? Basically put in to spite Brodeur.
We’re fine. I didn’t use the S word.

… the refs for tonite’s game are Dean Morton and Brad Meier.
Ruff = ultimate loser…

maybe… martin has never had a goalie as solid as miller or hasek though.
sorry but Lalime and Gerber don’t cut it for me

“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
true dat. hence runner-up!!!
Lapierre had it coming… why not put Darche and Pyatt in there, they’ll grind it out and make smart plays like they’ve been doing.
4-1 Mtl with Cammi getting 2.
Does anyone else think that Pleks is a goner after this year ?????
In Guy Boucher I trust.
Center Ice giving both feeds tonight…no having to listen to Rick Degenerate…sweet…
Go Habs Go!

I am digging the new look Price has got going on. Let’s see if he can translate that into a solid game.

ugh… i hate this all white gear trend
I say crash the Buffalo crease right off the bat and cream Miller. Like all Americans, he’s Soft

Price better shows up. Good Luck!
Blasphemy!!! Duthie just said Miller is going to win the Vezina. I think Bryzgalov will have a little something to say about that.
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
Need a win tonight.
FSN Pittsburgh for Caps-Pens has called Jose Theodore “Hos-eh” several times now… Good homework by the broadcasters there.

Let’s hope AK46 plays the rest of the year like he did in December!
I think once an offical interferes with the puck, you can knock him over.
- Member of Team Price
Here come the make-up calls.
a missed slash on hammer leads to a 4 minute pp for buffalo. joy. it’s game time!
Damn 4 min
Bah.

4 mins for high sticking. Gotta get through till intermission then Martin can settle them down
Is it jut me or those chicken wings look green, nasty!
They don’t look that great. They do make a killer prime rib sandwhich at the HSBC though.

Happy now, Ruff? You freakin whiny baby.
Great, 4 miuntes! Smarten up guys, you’re letting them back in it
Not good…can’t say the refs are evening it up when blood is gushing from his nose…Habs better pull it together
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”

And MAB plays center?
Man pouliot has been in a funk lately
The torch be yours to hold it high!
Gomez/Gio could use Pouliot on their PP unit, I like Metro, love what he’s given us but we need to start making a PP guy out of Pouliot, he’s a big body prescence who can work the front of the net, Metro/Gio/Gomez is too small for a PP unit.

Hardly a makeup call. There was blood dripping from his face. A makeup call is a shady call.
Miller is single-handedly keeping them in this.
I hate Miller!
Gio… gotta shoot that…
Ryan F. Miller. In a Team USA jersey or a Sabres jersey the guy is a damn fortress
Ha Gord Miller, praising Connolly for a giveaway that would have even made Afinogenov ashamed
It only happened because they ignored a slash by the sabres.
I love seeing Markov after that dive from Roy.
Roy’s such a little beatch. Good for Markov
I’ll take this lead going into the 3rd.
What a team effort through 40 minutes. Excellent game from the goalie to Bergeron.
Great PK so far, Pricey looks solid especially with playing after so much time off.
Good PK. That Miller is a good goalie.
Great front of net support for Price from the PK guys.

SABRES = OVER-RATED.
Cant wait to see them be the first “higher seed” team get dumped.
