Very strange game.

Once the Canadiens avoided penalties and got some 5-on-5 time, they exerted a measure of pressure on Cam Ward.

But it was too late – and Ward stopped everything.

So another one-goal loss.

NOTE ON THE LIVE BLOG:  The chronology is all balled up. I have no idea why.

But the Canadiens will take a hard-earned W.

Minnesota managed to come up goose eggs on about 28 PPs – OK, 10, but including three 5-on-3s.

Another great game for Carey Price, and a pretty good one for his defencemen.

Canadiens were outshot 29-21.
