On Feb. 29, 2008, your amazin’ Montreal Canadiens are in first place in the Northeast Division.
If they beat New Jersey at the Bell Centre on March 1, 2008 – and if Ottawa beats Pittsburgh – the unbelievable, unreal Canadiens will be in first place in the Eastern Conference.
It’s all a dream.
Bobby Ewing is going to step out of the shower any minute.
But for now, let’s enjoy it.

At the begining of the season him and graboski were interchanging on the kovalev line
http://habsexpress.blogspot.com/
You could also look at Cam Ward the year the Hurricanes won the cup (no playoff experience), Giguere the first year he guided Anaheim to the finals (no playoff experience) or Kiprusoff the year the Flames made the finals (4 games, 1-1). In the absence of loan agreements like those commonly seen in European soccer, its kind of hard to gain playoff experience unless you are allowed to play. Win or lose this spring, we win in the long-term as Price gets more time in the net.
why would andrei kostisyn ever be benched?

Argh! Relatives in town to entertain tonight/tomorrow – gonna be a tough call between either taping the game to watch later or between obsessively checking out Boone’s game log on my blackberry all through dinner…
I would have had a tough time making that trade also.
GO HABS.
Besides, if some of us (including myself) had been in Gainey’s shoes, we wouldn’t have traded Higgins straight up for Hossa. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Habs fans who are are still mumbling about what should have happened need to get over it.
“Free at last: Granted parole from Tortorellatraz, Brad Richards had five assists in his Dallas Stars debut.”
That had me LOL’ing
Isn’t it interesting the 2 most useless players on the team have sat out the least amount of games? The real head scratcher is that Smolinski isn’t even French! lol
Roberto Luongo… good goalie, right? playoff experience: 12 games (5-7).
4-2 Habs tonight. Higgy scores 1, AKoz and SKoz one eahc and Grabs gets the other.

Remember February 19th: The Comeback
Here’s any easy way for Montreal to win, I’ll just get a proline and pick a buffalo victory and montreal will for sure win.
hmm.. Kovy and/or Pleks are due. Kovy gets one from his favorite spot.
I think CHip will be in the lineup next year for sure. He learned a lot in his time with the habbies.
_______________________________________
CH is for Chris Higgins
I never actually disliked Mike Ribeiro when he was in Montreal. He was an underachiever, but he always seemed like a guy who couldn’t take the pressure of the city. His success doesn’t irk me at all. Good for him.
yeah, but he was our marquee free agent signing last summer.
I don’t think Higgins was part of the original deal but came in when Pittburgh got in on the action. Shero and his “hoist petard” lol, wasn’t even in the game until late in the deadline. I heard that Huet was flipped because Hedberg for Halak was part of the deal. When the deal fell through at ten to three, Cristowall was gone and Bob must have been saying #%RQ(^!!! I’m sure it will work out for the best. Everything happens for a reason!
Ever hear of Roman Hamrlik?
That would be nice for him. Dallas is a good team.
Sundin is a class act.
If the Habs can survive their remaining schedule and make the playoffs, this team will be battle tested and so will our goalies. They have a brutal schedule. I hope they are up to it. I think there will be a lot of jumping off and on the bandwagon during the next few weeks.
It is going to be a bumping ride. Lets see how many of us can hang on as there is no point leaving if things get rough.
mjames
hey is Grabovski in tonight or will he be in the press box?
Personally , I’d love to see the kid in the line up. He’s shown alot of improvement since his first stint here with the Habs. Most noticeably, he stays on his feet!!
Grabs is in
excellent….i agree with the comment before u…he does manage to stay on his feet…he’s got disgusting speed….buffalo is a fast team….we need to be faster….i hav a feeling that our defense will play well tonite…they manage to play well against fast teams….mite be cuz their practising with one…best of luck *not that he needs it* to carey price….
Did anyone else catch SportsCentre tonight? One of the correspondents tried to revive the rumour that Brian Burke would come to Toronto to serve as GM. He also mentioned that the Leafs were interested in Bob Gainey!
I know such reports are best taken with a whole mine full of salt, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.
I like grabovski he definatley has break neck speed and offensive upside. I worry about his upper body strength but doesn’t seem to get knocked around like he did at the beginning of the season. I am pretty concerned about his faceoff skills though at 31%.
Healthy scartches seem to be Breezer, Dandy, and TK.
Begin’s injured his groin, so Smokes is in.
Defensive pairings will be the same…in fact, everything will be the same except that Smokes is centering the 4th line instead of Begin. I like Lapierre on the RW better anyway.
Here’s hoping the Caps game vs NJ is a hard-hitting affair that goes to OT and then a lengthy shoot-out, with Huet eventually saving the day…leaving Martin F. Brodeur exhausted for tomorrow
I would imagine the leafs will sign both of them as soon as the season ends. Everybody knows that everybody wants to play, coach, manage or even just be the water boy in the ‘centre of the hockey universe’.
GO HABS.
If Higgins and a combination of three[players or picks] others’ were Waddell’s demands then Gainey did the right thing. Imagine making that trade, not going deep in the playoffs[a vary good possibility] and then Hossa going elsewhere. We’d of been chirping about it next Halloween. Gainey had no choice but to stand pat on this one.
GO HABS.
“Flynn asks if Halak and Grabovski were so good, why did they spend weeks chasing Marian Hossa?”
Probably for his proven experience.
Besides, just because Gainey said Halak and Grabs are good, didn’t necessarily mean he was comparing them to Hossa.
His faceoff % is about the same as Malkins.
Yeah bob gainey would leave a team that is so close to being a consistant stanley cup contender every year which gillett gives bob full control over to being the next mlse puppet. Not a chance.
Now only if grabs had the potential to be a league leader in points. I hope he does well and can stick with the team. I know he spent some time playing the wing in hamilton, this maybe a better option if the faceoffs become an issue.
The absurdity of the rumour is what I found interesting. I think the Brian Burke rumour is equally absurd.
yeah i know, i laughed for about 10 mins
Mike!!!! lol…Chantal would be offended.
Hey at least he got rid of those ridiculous glasses.
wow…if Mike’s comments are any indication, gonna be one hell of a hard-hitting affair.
he’s the energizer bunny out there, as Boone said, skated 175 miles last game.. hopefully he doesn’t try to do too much. Like A.Kostitsyn, the confidence will come once he adjusts.
Plekanec also needs to improve his faceoff skills.
one thing i noticed last game, was any break away – he would turn into a 2 rush. A funny example was when he Sergei had the puck, Grabs was trailing (for a split second)… Sergei went for a drop pass to Grabs, but by that point Grabs was right beside him. I had a good chuckle
All right! Quick PP goal boys.
Wow Mike, it’s still early… lol.
right now he is at 49.1% a large upgrade from where he was a month or so ago.
..
Kerry Fraser is the best. oh who am I kidding, he makes me sick…
I LOVE Rick Jeanneret!
“THE POPULATION OF POMMINVILLE GROWS AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN!”
Yes!! Love the passing.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
I love today.
WOW! What a save. And a GOAL!! Plecs!
Le BUT!!!
Nice shot pleky
Watching the game on Centre Ice and I have to turn the sound down because the Buffalo play by play guy is just terrible. His voice is so annoying and he is such a homer. What a pro.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
I hate talking about the refs but kerry F. Fraser, why do we get stuck with this guy
PP to start.
If the Habs don’t get it ,I’d want Ribs to get the big ring de stanley! You know the underdog thing.
Someone might have already gotten to this, but Begin’s out meaning Smokes is centering the 4th line, with Lapierre on his RW and Tender on his left.
Just wondering what Gainey has planned for next season… Since the depature of Bonk, we’ve really lacked a true defensive center. I think one of the main reasons that Gainey let him go (wish we still had him) is that he thought Chip was going to be able to step up at some point. Smokes has been on/off, and Chip will benefit/needs this season in the AHL.
Big game tonight…with the Sens in a downward spiral, we have no more excuses about not getting the no.1 spot in our division
at dinner time, excuse yourself and go in the kitchen…swallow a mouthful of pea soup or something mushy…come back and puke that mouthful over the dinner table…then say you’re feeling crappy…the flu or something…tell them you’ll go lie down for a bit and go upstairs and watch the game…. bingo!
Go Habs Go
Pretty obvious choice: you do both.
you bet fellas. i just think we need to relax a bit on the lack of playoff experience comments. it’s just one element.
Not worried, the west is notorious for first round upsets.
My sentiments exactly. Let’s face it, the Canadiens are a long shot at the cup this year anyway, and Gainey’s plan all along was to be cup contenders in ’09, next year. So any experience Price (Or Halak, I wouldn’t count him out as the possible #1 if Price faulters) gain is just insurance for next year.
Man, looking at the schedule that piche put up…I’m not even sure you can call the game against L.A. an “easy one”…they’ve been playing well as of late.
I was kinda of hoping we’d have games against Colombus or Tampa, with the trades those teams made this year I think it’s pretty apparent they’ve completely given up…Richards and Foote were such important guys on their respective rosters.
Buffalo play a very similar style of game, so it’s gonna be an awesome one to watch. Habs have got to keep the “defense first” mentality, and not be drawn into a run-and-gun game. Not so much because I think we’d lose if that happened against the Sabers, but I don’t want to see the Habs get use to playing that way…especially against teams like the Devils and Sharks.
laffs are playing tonight…i hope they win!! then miss the playoffs in 9th or 10th and miss out on stamkos and sundin retires cause the ORGANIZATIONS not FAITHFUL to him…
who else is scared that mickey ribs might win a stanley cup before saku koivu?
Sorry to make it longer but it’s a 7:30p.m. start tonight.
Ugh, what a long day! I wish it was 7 already!
Huet shuts out Marty F Brodeur
Don’t get ahead of yourself. We haven’t got this game against Buffalo wrapped up yet. Based on the last 4 weeks, we have seen that ANYTHING can happen.
agreed… and if you were to ask Bob, he’d say, well, that was the idea wasn’t it?
True. (I’m turning three times and spitting to the north to avoid bad karma as we speak.)
i’m sure Kolzig is LOVING it. LOL.
Price is next.
I’m happy for Huet
First game and he gets a shutout
Way to go Huet!
http://yearofthehab.blogspot.com
I believe this is koivu’s team. He is still wearing the “c”. He didn’t have the best cast of players over those 12 years but he has stuck with the team. he could have easily signed with someone else when the team was in the tank. Hey are you related to Price or what?
I know he is going to be good and has been playing well but give me a break.
No call again
If Andrew Peters was dressed, I think he’d be out to stir something up for the Sabres in the third. Maybe it’s left to Adam Mair to try. Or more likely, Ruff gets them to come out flying for the third.
Bernier is a good young prospect, but thus far in his NHL career, he’s not an “impact player” to borrow a phrase.
I’m happy for Huet…. Although I have faith in Price and Halak, I miss that guy.
Mike said….
“Ruff looks like a s— salesman with a mouthful of samples.”
CLASSIC!!!
Oh, and Kostitsyn just potted a nice one!!!
Again I say just by looking at your reply that if the shoe fits wear it. You are a baby. If you can’t come up with a better argrument than Huet’s gone then don’t waste my time. You are not the expert that you think you are. You are acting like a child with your little hockey hero. By the way it didn’t become Roy’s team until after he proved himself to be a great goaltender. I believe that was a few years later. But then again I was there and you were either not or too young to remember.
By the way Huet wasn’t my favourite Hab. You just assume he is because I agreed when Price was sent back down.Well look what it done for him. Oh yeah but I don’t know hockey do I. I guess Bob didn’t at that time either.
And she did not refer to it as Price’s team. She mentioned three players and I gave an opinion and you started on the Huet crap again. Maybe you need to get over it.
What has this got to do with Huet moron. Like I said before why don’t you grow up you big baby! It’s people like you who make it hard for other people to like Price. But even so I happen to like him. And by the way I was a habs fan before you were even a gleam in your Daddy’s eye and have seen lots of people traded. I get over it quickly cause I cheer for the whole team not one guy.
By the way when the habs won the cup with Roy as a rookie it didn’t suddenly become roy’s team
Well now we have to insult seniors on here. Now your maturity is really showing. By the way is that a threat.Seems your pretty brave on here yourself. Besides I thought winning the cup was a team effort.
Like it or not us seniors as you put it have every right to express our opinions whether you like it or not.
Excellent work by No. 21. Like he says,
the pressure of the trading deadline is off.
How many times was Streit traded this week? So glad we didn’t make any other moves
One more goal we all get free buffalo wings.. ;o)
I wish….;o)
3 assists for Kovy.. 3 goals for Pleks. PRICEless.
and man am i glad to see Markov back out there.
Count it…first career hat-trick for Plek
And the first line is back.
Now we have 3 producing lines….man, very nice.
Is it me or has this period lasted forever?
can someone punch that fan in the face?
FYI – The Habs’ ECHL team, Cincinnati Cyclones are an amazing 41-8-3 on the season.
I’ll be seeing the ‘Clones play in Stockton, CA tomorrow night. I am sure I will be the only person there with a Cyclones jersey.
On Monday, I’ll be in San Jose to see the Habs play the Sharks. Are there any other Habs fans on here that live in Northern California?
oh man that was so close
2P 00:22: That hit woke up Markov. He’s playing angry.
Markov: “you won’t like me when I’m angry”
It felt the same way for me too.
Plekanec and Kovy just know where to go. They play so well together.
5 minutes to go for Huet!
I saw the ECHL stats earlier….another testament to how good our depth is!
Enjoy the sharks game, I’ll be glued to a tv here.
The Carey Price era is starting to look like a legendary one
Actually, here’s a question: If this team stays intact and experiences success, will history look at it as Price’s team, Koivu’s team, or Gainey’s team?
Olivier Latendresse has 9 points (1G, 8A) in 4 games with the Cyclones.
yeh i heard they were doing great the other day and that a bunch of their players have been called upto hamilton and theyre still playing good hockey and now hamilton is also playing good too.
congrats to pleks!
I would say all 3…look at how we percieve the 86, and 93 cup wins.
Gainey has been the first good GM we’ve had in ages, Koivu is one of the longest standing captains in Habs history (and I don’t think the image of Koivu hoisting the cup would ever leave my mind) and Price, who will be filled next to Roy and Dryden.
either the devils are lacklustre or the D is playing inspired in front of him .. only 18 SOG.
Montreal’s Team!
4-nill Warshington.
I wonder if we will see Brodeur tomorrow?
All I can say is that the next 5-10 years of Habs hockey are going to be a lot of fun to watch.
4-0 for the caps with three minutes to go
to me, this is very simply the Team that Bob Built.
Go Huet I’m cheering for you, and not just cause your playing the devils
Huet to me is still part of the team. Shutting out the Caps for his team and ours! After tomorrow night, Habs will be #1. YEAAAAAH
GO HABS GO
Or destiny’s team?
http://habsloyalist.blogspot.com
Caps 4-0 over NJ with less then 3 mins to play.
So far, 30 shots on Brodeur. Not the 50 I wanted, but I’ll take it.
The Dogs and Danis are not doing so well tonight. Down 5-0 last I looked.
Mathieu Aubin had a hat trick last game. It will be interesting to see how they do now that Cedrick Desjardins is with Hamilton. I think Dov Grumet-Morris (another really solid goalie who is a UFA) is up on loan in Milwaukee of the AHL.
What a game. Getting just like playoff hockey.
YEAH
Funny how things work out. Two weeks ago when we were all lamenting not getting to play Ottawa for first, who would have thought the Habs would be playing Jersey for first tomorrow?
http://habsloyalist.blogspot.com
Been watching some of it. The Caps have been impeccable. Scoring chances counted as 19-4 by the Devils announcers, so it’s been a breeze for Huet, though.
That’s all that matters to me, till the playoffs!
GO HABS GO!!!
very true, J.T.
If this is the Habs’ version of playoff hockey, I’m really going to enjoy April.
Shut out for Huet!!
bit of a dive, I thought. Besides, the penalties Koivu tends to get called for are retaliatory. If the 2 blind mice would call the games properly, Koivu would avoid the penalty box. Instead he loses his cool at times after getting hooked, held, etc. and does the same, and THEN the ref decides to call something.
I’d argue with the schmucks who are bashing Koivu but what would be the point? I’d have better luck getting my house plant to talk sense.
Imagine that, another lazy, stupid penalty by Koivu?
85 PIM for Saku.
2 Behind Komisaurus.
OUCH.
Dammit…
defense first.
UGH crossbar, price, then in.
GROSS.
Here they come.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
FLUKE
it went in off his head or back. crap goal. stupider (sic) penalty.
Plekanec really needs to improve his faceoff skill.
Fluke goal. Very bad penalty to take
Get it back on the PP boys!
Koivu needs to go. He’s a good guy. Good for the community. Has a great heart, but he needs to leave.
Too many stupid penalties. Takes too many games off. Just not a good player.
WTF!!
And all you guys back off Koivu…man.
What other team is lucky enough to have a 2nd line center as productive, skilled, with leaderships skills to boot as Koivu.
He’s a great, and essential part of this team.
3-1
love it.
Don’t you love it?
xerox of their last goal.
ET LA BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT
Nice replay!
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
Oh My So pretty
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
LOVE the adjustment on the powerplay…they cover Kovalev on the right side? put him on the left side and switch Streit and Markov…brilliant!
i don’t love it, but halak it.
Well that makes up for the fluke of Price.
Most of this Koivu bashing makes me sick, some of you are worse then leaf fans.
I don’t even understand where its coming from…
He’s been playing awesome these past couple games, and people still bitch.
Please elaborate on his leadership skills, because I haven’t seen them this year. He takes stupid, lazy penalties. Our captain shouldn’t be spending 85 minutes in the box, unless he’s fighting, which he certainly isn’t doing.
Plekanec is money from there…M. Gainey better think seriously about signing him for a longer deal than just through 08-09. He’s UFA after next year….
Not bashing… 85 PIM speaks for itself, it’s not like people are asking for him to be benched.
sadly, yes.
The only problem with this setup is that Kovy can’t take his signature shots from the left side, but who’s complaining, Pleky will …
I’m not Koivu bashing…I’m discipline bashing…that was a weak play. Anyone in a red sweater who takes one like that deserves the wrath of the coach!
i agree, he has been playing very well of lately, including this game. I dont know about that call either, i missed a good replay but it didny look like he got a knee out, just hit him with his hip/body
Yah, it was a bad penalty..but Koivu is so valuable to this team, even despite it.
He’s so clutch during the playoffs and during the final stretch run, plus he rallys this team like no other. Everyone forgets it though, but whatya gonna do?
Not benched, worse, they’re asking him to leave.
And who’s going to take his spot? Smoke?
Out of town scoreboard watch:
Veilleux pots one to put Wild ahead of the Panthers2-1, halfway through the 2nd.
Devils and Capitals game starting right now. Still 1-0 for the Caps (A montreal win and Jersey loss puts us 1 point behind NJD, with equal GP)
Is Markov hurt?????
Houde was just saying that while some people are blessed with skill, others keep trying to develop it. he spoke of Kovalev this morning after practice. everyone had left and Kovy had three pucks on the ice and did drill after drill… i missed the rest.
crap as i write this Markov looks really hurt. dammit.
That was an elbow Needs to be repaid. Can’t have our star being hit like that.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
to do bold you cant use you have to use <> around the b
I suppose it was only a matter of time the bandwagon showed up to the party
Well, that was fun. I’m starting to believe the Habs really will make the playoffs.
wow, very uptempo till the last 20 seconds in a 6-2 game… thats why they should be on tsn and not toronto… let tsn know by writing in.
No.1 in the Northeast Divison
No.2 in the Eastern Conference
16 games left to play.
I think Carbo may have found his playoff team tonight, good game by everyone on the team.
And while the Koivu line has been scoring the goals recently, Plekanec, Kovalev, and Kostitsyn just wanted to remind us that they are still the no.1 line in Montreal.
3 lines that can score, and a big 4th line the hussels?
Defensive pairings that are showing good chemistry and are improving still!
Wow.
On to NJ…I hope Brodeur gets an upset stomach or somethnig.
They have to take over the lead, if not they draw Rangers in the first round
The Habs will finish 13th in the coferance?? I guess the boys at tsn don’t kbow what it means to be a team!!!! Clear.ly not since they critised sundin.
http://habsexpress.blogspot.com/
You know… I hope they keep these players on the ice.. with the exception of perhaps a gritty game… then you might want to go with two of Smo / Begin / Kost, instead of one. Grabovski on the ice brings a whole new level of danger to which ever line he’s on. He’s a little anxious and needs to settle in a bit, but i think he should stick around unless he’s proving to be more of a liability.
How about that KO by Lats!
Lastly – Price should have pulled a Jose Theodore on that first goal.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pGHRfWbAUHk
Awesome Tonight, lets hope they play this way tomorrow.
Magic Number down to 27 points.
And it’s a tough break for Ottawa, they went from second to fifth
Them…or Boston.
Huet shut out came after only 18 shots. That almost warrants an asterisk. Regardless, I’m happy he’s off to a good start.
I say play a Jr. Kosta-Graba-Streit… Reuinite the Ryda-Higa-aKvu and keep the Plec-Kost-Kolev firing on all cylenders. Rotate a Danda-Begin-Kostopo-lappy-Laten on the 4th trio.
They are losing their dominant aura with many teams. For me it remains until the Habs beat them.
yeah we’ll purolator them a box of tissue.
Yep, one point for them tonight is good. Hopefully they are on their way to a 9th or 10th place finish, out of the playoffs and out of the lottery.
I’m lovin’ it.
I agree, especially since we still have three games against them
Halak it.
27? To make the playoffs you only need 93 pts… with 79 the magic number would be 14…right? 27 pts would put us at 106. With only 34 possible left in 17 game 13-3-1 which is possible but it’s a little lofty given the busy schedule in March.
I’m loving the Brothers K and Grabovski. They’re gonna make it the “The Bel’s Centre” one day.
Hmmmm… Boston….
oh you’re good.
Leafs fought back to 2-2 end of regulation. why. don’t. they. just. DIE.
27 is the mathamatical number to finish ahead of the 9th place team, even if the 9th place team wins all their games – not a realistic amount of points needed to get in.
So would you rather have Pittsburgh beat Ottawa tomorrow to pad the division lead or would you rather have Ottawa win with the chance to move into first overall. I say put as much room between Ottawa and the Habs as possible.
I’d be happy with either result. Just as long as it’s not another 3-point game.
They should eat S*&t and die LOL!
Yep, winning the division would be huge. But, ahem, I still just hope they make the playoffs.
Boyle scores on the PP in OT for TB. Leafs get a point for the loss.
Nah, I’d rather they didn’t get a top 5 draft pick.
BTW, I just saw another angle of the hit on Markov. There is no FRIGGIN way that was incidental contact. BRUTAL non-call.
What a fantastic game – Kovalev, Pleks, and the Kostitsyn brothers were amazing. Unreal pass by Kovy to spring AK46 for the breakaway. Gorges was solid, Hammer was mixing it up. Price hardly let up any rebounds.
Kaleta, Mair, Gaustad all need to get it.
I absolutely loved hearing the Habs fans sing “Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye” with about 15 minutes left in the 3rd.
Bring on Marty F. Brodeur….
Yeah, and b/s call on Komisarek. Since when is a hip check a penalty?
good night everyone.
GO HABS GO.
i’m expecting halak to get a shot at one of the wester teams…probably SJ…if not Phx.
Habs page on TSN says “Beats of the Northeast.” At least it doesn’t say, “Beets.” I’m sure they’ll change it soon, but that’s what it says right now.
On TSN
“Andrei Kastsitsyn and Siarhei Kastsitsyn also scored for the Canadiens, who had lost the last three meetings against Buffalo.”
They still can’t get their names right. Damned Leaf fans.
Can’t believe the devils tonight. Two shots in the third period? Must be restin’ up for tomorrow night.
GO HABS.
Sick game Defensive hockey wins championships
http://habsexpress.blogspot.com/
god this team’s good!!!
Ok, a 5-1 win in the first post-trade deadline game; a 6-2 win in the second. Hmmmm. Does that suggest a 7-3 pasting of the Devils tomorrow night?
yup….doesn’t it feel good to be alive and living as a Hab fan…making me thirsty
lets put the wood to em
This might be one of the things Bob had in mind when he shipped Huet to the Caps. The ulterior motive? Ensure the Canes have an early golf season.
LMAO – Jay – your picture takes the purse… I mean cake. Where can I vote for best picture? Still laughing… too funny.
Ils sont incroyables ces Canadiens !
Since a Canadiens player learned how to throw one I presume?
“Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?”
true, but that’s only due to the simple fact that after you’ve been crucified once, you’re not in any hurry to repeat the experience.
Here’s a few comments I saved earlier in the season. What can I say? They made me wanna puke and I knew I’d get a chance to throw their words back at them.
Michael Farber: My thumb is down to the Montreal Canadiens and more specifically what has happened to the once glorious Montreal Canadiens. Will they make the playoffs – possibly, but if they do it’s going to be another year of those eighth place dances of death that have become so popular in Montreal in recent years. What’s the problem, well in a word – talent. Look at the roster that Montreal will ice against Carolina on Wednesday and is there one player in the top 100 of the National Hockey League, probably one – defenceman Andrei Markov. The Canadiens are just not good enough and when Montreal is not good enough the NHL is a poorer place.

DIVISION DIAGNOSTICS, PT. 3
by Adam Proteau
Why 5th? Because, especially at center, size matters. And the Habs’ current contingent of pivots could easily fit into a clown car.
There are many important building blocks already in place – their embarrassment of riches in goal, up-and-comers such as Tomas Plekanec, Andrei Kostitsyn and Chris Higgins – but the departure of Souray will leave a major leadership void in Montreal’s dressing room and Hamrlik is far from an appropriate replacement in that department.
If the Canadiens have any hope at the playoffs, they’ll need notoriously inconsistent winger Alexei Kovalev to consistently produce, their average defense corps to overachieve, and all of their youngsters to enjoy career seasons. In my humble estimation, that’s too tall of an order.
————-
MONEY POORLY SPENT
by Adam Proteau
3. Roman Hamrlik to the Montreal Canadiens for four years and $22 million. Five-and-a-half million a season for a guy who hasn’t put up more than 12 goals and 42 points in a single season since 2000-01 isn’t my idea of bang for your buck.
And when you consider the 33-year-old has missed an average of 12 games a year due to injury since 2001-02, you can see why some believe Hamrlik will be cashing more and more of his checks on crutches in the days to come.

by Adam Proteau
Once a year, I like to clear out my list of thoughts, observations and musings on not only the hockey world, but life in general. And with a week’s holiday less than two weeks away, it’s about that time.
So, here are 20 random things that have been on my mind over the last little while. Feel free to submit any or all of them to your local shrink for further discussion and analysis. I know I have
6. First NHL coach fired in ’07-08: Guy Carbonneau. Second: Denis Savard.
—————-
So, that being said, what do you say we start a write-in campaign to get Adam Proteau fired from his job? Anyone have his boss’ email?
you lose.
Firing is a little to harsh for a laf lover and anyway they would only hire another center of the universe genius with blinders.
The Habs are -DIVISION LEADERS-great stat eh
Hammer was tough
Latendresse dropped a Sabre
Pleks was in the ‘zone’ and with linemates like he has——WOW
GO HABS GO
From Darren Dreger:
“In the meantime, Toronto’s search committee will continue probing the business and hockey community for details on other potential targets; among the most interesting, Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey.”
Are you serious Dreger? That’s even dumber than the Koivu for Jokinen rumour!
Toronto = Center of the Universe
If the center of the universe is a black hole for logic, then this explains everything.
Guess Dreger didn’t watch the Gainey jersey retirement or he would understand that Bob *is* a Montrealer and wants to see through what he’s built and is building in MONTREAL.
And Burke’s not going there.
No one wants that crappy job, face it, Toronto media!!
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
They’re allowed to dream aren’t they?
i can’t even remember…
10-5-3 gets us to the 100 pt mark for the first time in a long, long time.
hell of a pass@@@
OH MY GOD. 4 Assists for KOVY and WHAT A GOAL BY KOSTITSYN!!!!!! 1 more assist and the performance by Richards will be forgotten!
9 points by the Pleks line. not a bad night.
Oh My. Pretty Pretty Pretty. Kovey has 4 pts.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
I’m speechless
Kovy 4 point game
And Andrei shows why he should have been a top 5 draft pick
Chicken Wings…. Buffalo Style Ole Ole
WINGS!
(I don’t live in Montreal, but I get excited about that anyway for those of you who do!)

GO HABS GO!
And where were the posters that were bitching earlier this year how we made a mistake in drafting A Tits over Getzlaf?
those few games as a healthy scratch earlier this season was the turning point for him.
“Astonished” Yes!
Huet gets a shutout. Good for him and Thanks. Kost the elder scores!! 5-1!!!
I’m happy for Huet…. Although I have faith in Price and Halak, I miss that guy.
Mike said….
“Ruff looks like a s— salesman with a mouthful of samples.”
CLASSIC!!!
Oh, and Kostitsyn just potted a nice one!!!
4th line will be gettin decent ice-time this period, in an effort to keep the players as fresh as possible.
Also a great chance for Smokes, Lat, and Lap to make a case for getting the call tomorrow too.
Ryder is starting to look like Wayne Gretzky
Well, he is having an awesome game but…comeon, lol
Good Bye Chant in Buffalo….GOTTA LOVE IT
how can you not love Kovy.
Hey-Hey-Hey Goodbye chants…
GREAT WORK BUFFALO HABS FANS!
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
Have you seen Gretz play recently? He is pretty rusty.
Hamilton and Toronto Habs fans.
Its safe to say the Habs are second in the east (at least until Saturday).
Gonna be tough to pick 3 stars with 3 guys with 4 points plus Price playing great.
I guess there are a lot of flightless chickens in Montreal these days.
2 minutes on Komisarek for a clean hip check.
Komisarek: “What? I barely touched him!”
http://yearofthehab.blogspot.com
Easy,
1- Pleky
2- Kovy
3- Streit
It looks like the Leafs will again need to adjust their expectations from play off run back to Stamkos.
Halak tomorrow? me thinks not!
1. Plek
2. Kovy
3….the team?
Damn.
well, tim connolly is a good player..nice shot.
he didnt have the puck, its interference.
I dunno, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with putting in another goalie in back-to-back games.
I hope to see Halak soon, regardless.
Mike – your boy Gorges is playing a helluva game!
thats the 2nd time this season that Prices mask has fallen off…get a tighter fit there bro!
i have no problem with that.. just figuring Carbo will probably go with the ‘hot hand’.
8 guys in front of Price.. not sure how he saw that. glad he saw that.
Hard to believe he sat in the pressbox for 20 games!
Hey guys: Save a few for Martin F.
Mike,
This team is the second highest scoring team in NHL, I’m sure they have saved special few for Martin F.
i wonder if Carbo is gonna give us a taste of Hell’s Bels?
“This team is the second highest scoring team in NHL”.
i love the sound of that.
Thanks to Breezer
Won’t be happening again any time soon.
And Northeast Division LEADER!
Maybe he got this good by watching Breezer?
aw man, that woulda been the final nail … still who can complain!
Same difference
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
that’s a greater injustice than the refereeing. and that’s saying a lot.
Tender
You’ve got that right, he’s top 4D on our team.
Speaking of Hell’s Bels….
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow… I love all these kids.
You’ve got your wish, with a cherry on top.
Next stop Eastern confernce! Brodeaur will be tough tomorrow coming off a shut-out loss courtacy our old buddy Huet…
Some observations from last night’s game:
1. Although I generally like what Lats brings to the team and see that he has a lot of upside, I think he needs to drop the gloves more often to fulfil his role. He has the size to punish his opponents. The Habs could definitely benefit from him playing w/ a bit more of a mean streak.
2. Mike’s man Gorges continues to impress. What he lacks in tools he makes up for w/his heart, smart positional play and nifty outlet passes.
3. Pleks, Kovy & AK47 were on fire last night. Kovy is intent on putting his stamp on the team. The pass he made to set up AK47′s goal was pure highlight reel. Nice line to watch. Talent to spare.
4. Although I thought Carbo was over utilizing Streit early in the season, it is now evident that he’s a lot more durable than I gave him credit for. Another guy who brings it every night and plays smart hockey.
5. Grabovski continues to impress. It would be nice to see him have a breakout game at this level.
Anyone else think the boards in Buffalo are a little on the lively side? I can’t recall seeing this during games earlier in the season. New boards maybe.
I was gonna make a comment about the glass at the HSBC as a little shot at ryan miller, that whiner
Does anyone know what he was bitching to the refs about at the end of the 2nd? Did he go talk to magoo and fraser and tell them they weren’t calling enough of a one-sided game?
i’m gonna pull a pleks-andrew… i told you Kovy/Pleks were due! lol wooooooo!
Called it!! Along with every other person who posts here.
Plekanec and Kovy on the scoreboard
Anyone knows where to watch this online – please share…
NHL Center Ice only, I do believe.
channelsurfing.net if that doesn’t work, there’s a plan B.
Need to continue our good puck persuit. Don’t give them time to think.

holy cow that was dangerous!!!
I don’t know why, but when I look at him, he looks like an older, fatter Bonk.
GOAL GOAL GOAL!
2-0
bOYAH
The boards must have microphones attached to them, very loud bodychecks, and another GOAL!! ;-O
Beauty!
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
NOW that passing!!
BOOYAKASHA
I was just thinking we should resign him and he goes ahead and scores. Case and point.
why the hell didnt they stop the play????
This is difficult to say but, Smokes isn’t playing too too bad.
come on kovy… short-hander!! nice check!
That little bit right there reminded me of something. When I was a little girl and didn’t know so much about hockey, I thought Roman Hamrlik was an enforcer
. He has the perfect name for one.
Interest note Boone. Sabres were pissing campbell eh?
Campbell’s soup, anyone? Just hope its not the Chunky kind… ouch.
“Sabres piss Campbell on the point.
I love typos.
yes, or maybe just bigger? wrong synonym. maybe heftier? more full? rounder? no?
Loving our top 3 line combinations, and how our top 9 forwards are playing.
If we can just get the fourth line to being a strong defensive line, then I will be sooo happy. That said, Smokes, Lapierre and Lats are playing well. Smokes has good size, though its sometimes hard to notice.
GREAT SAVE
i assume that was a typo but with Boone one can never be certain
LOL. that’s gross kat. come on… gosh haha.
“RDS guys raving about Gorges. Well, hello!!!!”
Well, no one can say you didn’t call how well Gorges would progress
love the habs fans in buffalo!
LOVE the attempts at “GO HABS GO” and “OLE, OLE, OLE” from the crowd!
The Buffalo fans are kind of drowning them out with boos. Hopefully by the third period Habs fans will be eating wings, the Sabres fans will be gone and the chants will go unchallenged!
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
Lacking a bit of rough stuff, but I think this game so far has a sort of playoff atmosphere.
Let’s not forget that Buffalo is a very good comeback team.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
Very soft period by Andrei Kostitsyn.
Pulling up on the forecheck, cherry picking for the pass in his own zone.
Wake up kid. Show the same fire your brother has.
So, Carbo was saying earlier (in justifying his lineups) that the players on the first 2 lines have earned their roster spots, so have the d-pairings, and Streit, who is invaluable on the PP.
I think you can now say the third line is going to be one that we’ll be seeing a lot of.
A. Kos – Plek – Kovy
Higgins – Koivu – S. Kos
Streit – Grabo – Ryder.
That leaves Dandy, Begin, Lapierre, Lats, Smokes and TK all playing for time on the 4th line.
Exactly how it should be.
Oh, and I guess Breezer can be “upgraded” to 7th d-man…just because I’m in a good mood.
0-0 in New Jersey 9:00 2nd Period.
The Caps are up 1-0 on the Devils in second period
1P 15:00:”Lindy Ruff a l’air bougon.” Means he looks pissed-off.
Thanks for the translation Mike! Hahaha.
Caps up 1-0 now – Go Huet!
you bet!
Let’s go Caps and Huet!
I want to see 50+ shots on Brodeur
Man I love Gorges. He never gives up.
i agree. he was great on that last sequence. how many guys did he out-muscle…
The game is on the MSG tv network in the states. Maybe they are streaming it??

nice play by higgins between the guy’s legs.
Habs look very tentative and nervous. They’re missing checks, not receiving checks well, missing passes, shooting early, missing the net, or not shooting at all. That being said, they’re also playing very up-tempo hockey. Carbonneau should just tell them to relax a bit and start being more physical.
I agree. It’s a choppy game already. Maybe no relaxing though, but a more physical presence would be nice.
Lapierre’s line is having some problems defending…
price looks cool as a cuke and ryder is tres implique. he’s got his puck drag back.
thank-you mattee!
it worked and i’m watching as I type this.
big thanks
nooo problem! Not bad quality eh?
6-2 If we can beat Matin B tomorrow then this team has really turned the corner.
A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.
Sir Winston Churchill
i hope bob is smiling now. maybe just a smirk? anything???
Do Pierre and Yvon realize its OLE, and not OYE?
I never trusted their eyesights,.. seems they have hearing problems as well… too bad RDS couldn’t trade them at the deadline.
Hell’s Bels: Line name of the decade.
love it.
Teacher:
Thanks for the vote of confidence on the “Belorussian Solution”. Looks like Hell’s Bels has been deemed the winner (let’s hope when used it is properly punctuated) by the majority. I can see their point; it’s pithy. It will be even more suitable if the line develops some toughness/grit/edge.
The upside of the “solution” moniker– it doesn’t provide an easy excuse to play more AC/DC at the games.
I look forward to your update on the farm team’s progress.
Well on the way to T.O. tonight, I had just passed Peterborough when I get a text message telling me Habs 2- Sabres 0. I knew then we were going to win even though I hadn’t seen any of the game. I managed to get in fast enough to catch the third period. Was kinda surprised to Smokes on the ice and that Gui had a fight. But it seemed to work.
I’ll be at the bulldogs game on sunday afternoon so I’ll let you guys know what I think about our farm club at the moment after that game.
P.S. I thought the Belorussian solution was a good moniker also.
“Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?”
From the quick footage on the Buffalo feed, it seemed that Gui dropped or at least took down Pyatt.
Mom and Dad Kostitsyn must be proud of their boys on after that play!!
Top of the division baby!!!
I’ve made a huge mistake…
Obviously I would love for us to finish the year in 1st, but even if its just for a while, I would just love to see us win tommorow and be the BEASTS OF THE EAST!
Ya, i have always wanted to see that!
“Hell’s Bels!!!” LOL I have to admit I like it, though I like my “The Belarus Abuse” too.
Do you believe that crowd? Just like a home game. Lots of Hab fans. Dominating performance great goaltending by Price and Plecs had his best game of the year. Lets do the same thing to Jersey tomorrow night. GO HABS GO!!!
off topic, but Crosby has been “close” to coming back for almost 2 weeks now.
meaning he would be playing now if they were losing games, but since they’re hot without him, they’ll play it safe and wait until he’s 100% healthy.
IMO
just saw Huet .. still in his Habs mask
made a great save off Parise.. Kolzig eat your heart out.
Only thing I see thast needs to improve is some communication with Price when he is behind the net holding the puck. Several times a sabre has flown in from behind and almost grabbed the puck.
As a Habs fan out west, Saskatchewan, what do I get to see on the Toronto Sports Network? You guessed it…the Laffs and the Lightning. I HATE TSN and wrote them a nasty email just now. I wish you all would do the same. Thank God I have RDS. Though I don’t speak french, I love watching my Habs and haven’t missed a game in years. Great 1st period.
can ya post the link where we can write them
welcome rbt… you’re preaching to the choir!
agreed. no easy games, and every game is huge. over the next 18 games, we’re about to find out what this team is made of. ideally i’d like to see us go at least 10-6-2.
We need between 15 and 20 points out of a possible 36. We need to play 500 hockey and we will be fine… BUT our remaining schedule is a bit scary. Check out our last 8 games: Boston*2 followed by (Ottawa, Buffalo, Toronto)*2. YIKES!!
February:
29th Montreal at Buffalo
March:
1st New Jersey at Montreal 7:00 PM
3rd Montreal at San Jose 10:30 PM
6th Montreal at Phoenix 9:00 PM
8th Montreal at Los Angeles 4:00 PM
9th Montreal at Anaheim 8:00 PM
11th New Jersey at Montreal 7:30 PM
13th Ottawa at Montreal 7:30 PM
15th NY Islanders at Montreal 7:00 PM
18th St. Louis at Montreal 7:30 PM
20th Montreal at Boston 7:00 PM
22nd Boston at Montreal 7:00 PM
24th Ottawa at Montreal 7:30 PM
28th Montreal at Buffalo 7:30 PM
29th Montreal at Toronto 7:00 PM
April:
1st Montreal at Ottawa 7:30 PM
3rd Buffalo at Montreal 7:30 PM
5th Toronto at Montreal 7:00 PM
The playoffs for us start a bit early this year (March 20th).
there is only one “easy” game on that remaining schedule, and that is the game at Los Angeles.
Even though we are 6-0 versus Boston this year, I HAVE to figure that we will lose at least 1 or 2 of the remaining games against them
I really like this team…lol.
I was hoping Gainey wouldn’t do any trades, and man here’s the reason why…great depth, 3 good lines and if Smokes continues to play like this, it’ll leave only 2 roster spots for 5 players.
According to New Jersey announcers Chico Resch & Mike Emrik, pronunciation of Hu-et is back to Hu-eh. That’s what he now wants to be called. Whatever, he has made some fine saves and the Capitals are shuting out the Devils 1-0 heading into the third. GO HU-EA!
Anyone else think it’s more weird that Huet is wearing #38 than it is seeing him wear a Caps jersey?
David Steckel wears #39 on the Capitals.
Also interesting: the Capitals’ top two goalies are born in France and South Africa.

GO HABS GO!

IMO La solution Belorusse, fits better than the French version of Hell’s Bels, which would transalate into Les cloches de les Bels.
Then again, the Hell’s Bels moniker goes well with a team from Quebec also
“Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?”
Demoralized Tampa team up 1-0 on hapless Laffs.
I love the my new NHL v.3
Defense first guys…
Remember, we may be one of the better teams in the East, but we can’t play like this against Western teams.
price comes out makes himself look big and roy doesnt get a good chance… did price get a piece of it… hard to tell im watching on laptop
good one. not speaking German, obviously i had to look it up. where in the world did you come up with that???
hey Mike, one could say that Hossa’s injury sparked a Schadenfreude in Habs nation
that is what is wrong with hockey. Should be a suspension with that dirty, gutless hit
dammit we lose Markov and not even 2 minutes because they are saying the contact was incidental.
How is that not a penalty?
It would suck if we would lose Markov.
Out of town update:
have just scored (Kozlov), now 2-0 ahead of the Devils. 19:00 left in 3rd.
Minny juts added another from Brent Burns, now 3-1 ahead of the Panthers>/b>.
unbold!!!!
unbold
No call that is sick….the refs are blind.
No he’s not – he’s Fraser!
there is our pp… edit ARE YOU KIDDING ME… edit sneaky sneaky pleky. but where was the call on markov
…
great refing….
What the hell are the refs doing?
I am watching the center ice feed… The moron announcers said that wasnt a bad hit.. OMG….
the the RDS feed, regardless of the replay you couldn’t see what happened at the point of contact however Pierre and Yvon seems shocked there wasn’t a penalty assessed.
Thought I’ve see it all.
Capitals 2 Devils 0 early in third.
atta be hammer, mair makes me want to vomit
Mount Gorges
i want us to bury them.
i love how the habs defense are fighting with mair and price is not even paying attention or worried about it.
Wow…I was wondering why the refing was so bad.
Look no further then that over-weight walrus, McGeough.
in a a games thats so physical, so dirty, isnt this when a guy like Lapierre is supposed to step us and get into it?
edit: its sad that teams know that Lapierre won’t drop the gloves but know that Sergei Kostitsyn will…
Marvelous..
Why is that Fraser can never make a decent call our way..The guy stinks!!
lifting an opposing player’s stick = hooking?
Big PK, comeon boys
good to see markov back out
Nice to see Markov back out there.
Explanation: Fraser and McGeough
Team is looking really good tonight. Don’t like the penalties we’ve taken, but the PK is doing a pretty good job tonight. Buffalo had best be wary of taking any more penalties because Kovy and Pleks are ripping it up.
See you April 5th at the Bell Centre!
rds just showed a good replay of the penalty, stick on stick 100%
Kovalev’s “active stick” on the PK is *amazing*. Isolate on him and just watch what he does. It’s super fast and takes away passing lanes. He looks like a spazzy forechecker or street hockey goalie, but it’s great work. Just one of the many little things that he does so well.
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
The replay just showed that it wasn’t even a penalty on Grabs
Good PK kill…
3-0 Washington ahead of Jersey, so as long as we can hold on here we’ll be in great shape in the conference.
honestly i hate complaining about the ref’ing but my god… Mr. McGoo (sic) and Fraser are killing me.
HUET HUET HUET
I think Buffalo’s PP is realizing how much they miss Brain Campbell.
I hear Jim Campbell is a UFA…
Maybe that was part of the plan
Bob is a genius, but…
Finally Fraser calls our way
wow interferance!!! there we go, how did mcgoo miss that one…
TENDER BABY, ONE POP
GUI! GUI! GUI!
that was an *interesting* fight.
If he does that more often, I might not be able to call him Tender anymore…nicely done.
How do you do, Mr. Pratt?
See you April 5th at the Bell Centre!
thats a crazy stat buffalo tv showed… only 6 habs players have 5 yrs of experience or more, im assuming they meant roster players
Wow I had to wiki hoist petard.
“to be harmed by one’s own plan to harm someone else”
Sounds like something you would put in a sandwich.
Yeah, it’s basically like throwing a live grenade only to have it hit a tree and bounce back into your own foxhole. The intent is there, but not the luck. Wiki, Shmiki,.. cartoons, the best education in the world.
unbolded you…
Mike, you’re quite the wordsmith!
If we lose these next two games, we’ll be dangerously close to 8th place…
Well said Mike…….took the words right out of my mouth….except for the ‘hoist petard’ (I’ll have what you’re having)
I thought they started a few days ago in New York?
Latendresse has some quick rights!
LATS with a 2 punch knockout!!!
Very nice to see! Who did he hit?
Seal the deal boys, and hat-trick for Pleky?
nice call!
Love the Ray Shero comment, Mike.
I’m kind of hoping we can continue to dominate Boston as we have thus far.
Although Carbo will probably go with Price tonight and tomorrow, I’d play Halak tomorrow night – he had a great home record with the Habs last season. Price seems like more of a road warrior.
TKO for Tenderness!
Awesome
That will teach them not to take penalities
shouldn’t Brisebois get his seat with a brass nameplate by now?
20 ….ouch….. he must go home and brise a lot of bois
Oh man, I love it
Is that a Plek hat-trick???????!???!
HATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TRICK!!!!!!!!!!1
‘hoist petard’ used to be my stripper name
LMAO
THE PP IS KICKIN’ TONIGHT!!!!! Make ‘em pay boys.
ET LE BUT!!! Hows it feel Mair… Pleky
actually, let’s hope it doesn’t!!
I’d like to see Kovy score his 30th to go along with his assists tonight.
Droped!
Three quick right-hand jabs and Pyatt went down. Damn good job by Lats – he had a good game overall, I thought
Haha, yea he did drop him. Looked like Pyatt was jawing at him in the third. Anyone else think the subject matter was the visor of Latendresse?
“Are the Habs ready to pay the Price?”
someone’s gotta start tabbing kostitsyn stats
how often we win when one scores, how often we win when both score (which i’m assuming 100%) cause those are stats that we will be collecting for the rest of their career as habs.
Let’s see if my other call comes true, oh maybe not, otherwise I’ll start believing in ….
Good game, boys. Now then, as for the Toronto Sports Network, you can keep dreaming. Gainey is on the right side of the 401…
http://www.tsn.ca/tsn_talent/columnists/darren_dreger/?id=230928
At this point and time in history,if Christ was to re-appear,he wouldn’t take the job either ,as we all know the making of the Leafs a cup winner would be MORE than a miracle could offer, lol
Brad Richards hoisted Jay Feaster on his own petard last night.
Avenue Q, maybe? (Musical comedy/Muppet parody) – they had a song with that title. It is a GREAT word.
According to WordCount.org, it’s the 76,291st most common word spoken in English. So… not that uncommon.
IMO there are no gimmes at this time of the year including the games against LA & Boston. The Habs often play poorly on these inter-conference junkets and Julien has the Bruins playing excellent hockey. The Habs will have to be prepared for all these games. The back to back games against Boston should be fun to watch.
He needs to that more often. He’s too tame for his role on most nights, whereas, he could become a feared power forward.
Just watching University of Minnesota vs University of Alaska-Anchorage play and David Fischer is severely underwhelming…
