I dont kno wats worse, our Montreal Canadiens or the new look to Habs oh whoops excuse me, hockeyinsideout? Both are dreadful. Ill take the push.

    • Habfan4lfe says:

Depressing loss. I hope Gauthier or the Molson boys do something and salvage this season and our playoff chances. I doubt it, wait till the summer I guess.

  2. habs001 says:

when the habs won in the playoffs last year we were very happy and they were having a good season this year…but if you analyze the individual forwards on the team they are not really a talented group…we are full of below average goal scorers on the roster..i say what they have achieved last year and so far this year is way above their talent level…i know things look bad but i have this feeling that they will suprise in the playoffs…not because of talent but how these players can mesh together in playoff situations…

  3. Jdub1515 says:

L’antichambre will say we don’t hav enough local french players in order to score 1 goal over a 3 game span. We need lentendressse back. classic HAbs.

  4. higginrs says:

    1. This website is a curse. Both to use and to our team. Have we even won a game since the change?

    2. Gomez needs to be given no more than 18 minutes a game. Martin should “healthy scratch” him, but I know that ain’t gonna happen.

    3. Mentally, the Habs aren’t there. The passes aren’t on, the choices for making plays are poor, and there is no emotion. Are they trying to throw these games or something?

  5. twilighthours says:

I believe this is the first game I’ve seen in 18 months where the Habs simply mailed it in (but I did miss the Boston game).

This is a team that typically shows up. Not tonight though. And it was really ugly.

  6. savethepuck says:

Mr Boone, I am looking forward to the playoffs because even though this team is $#itting to bed right now they have bounced back several times this season. The Habs played horrible their last 4 or 5 games limping into last years playoffs and did OK. Still have 6 games to right the ship and get ready for the playoffs.

  7. Jdub1515 says:

can somebody remind me y PK was benched for 4 games early in the season but everyopne else never misses a shift ie. Gomez? JM really has a strangle hold on this team. All time great Habs coach up there wit perron, Tremblay and riel.

  8. the_larry says:

The upside to this: The Habs are still 7pts up on 9th place, and time seems to be on our side.

  9. rob_c says:

the scott gomez disease is apparently contagious.

  10. tony d says:

It’ll probably come down to the last game of the season and the way the Leafs are playing, I wouldn’t be surprised if they piggyback us and grab 8th. Very sad…. they’re a bloody mess out there.

  11. Clay says:

    Highlight of the game:
    3P 1:06 They’re booing a Canadiens Timeout

  12. Jdub1515 says:

The JM system everyone. call a timeout and our coach says NOTHING, kirk does. JM only has this job because he was the most qualified FRENCH coach at the time. this is a fact as well as a joke for the franchise. we should fire him but will prob hire a Hartley etc to continue the trend of politics over winning. No cups for us any time soon as Bowman, Blake, Irvin or Burns aint walkin thru that door any time soon, not cause theyve passed away or r retired but because they are english. They dont qualify anymore as reasonable candidates.

  13. Larry says:

I really do hope the media start asking real questions for the fans. This is just not right. Three shutouts in a row? I say it again, something is wrong, and I think we have a right to know what it is. SOmeone else said they had never seen a Habs team so disinterested in winning in forty years. I agree. But why, when a short while ago they were on fire?

  14. boing007 says:

    Richard R
Looked like Keystone Kops on Ice. Maybe they could find seasonal work with the next Ice Capades Tour.

  15. mb says:

Did they even want to win?

  16. Propwash says:

    Oh well, suivant next……

  17. hablifting says:

This result was not about effort. It was about this teams makeup and it’s ability (lack thereof) to play playoff style hockey. Other then Eller, nobody on this team is capable of fighting through checks to get to the net. That’s the story, period.

  18. Fabio D says:

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL….Martin focuses on offence for an entire practice and this team responds with 17 shots on goal 3/4 of the way through the game and being shut out for the 3rd game in a row. LMFAO!! WOW….. This is so absurd I don’t know what to say…… Un freaking believable…..another back door entry into the play-offs…if even.

Wonder what the post game excuses are going to be. But then again Cammi already came out and said they tune it all out. No ride no passion again.

  19. HotHabs says:

very small emotional consolation: Bruins were shutout

  20. yehaken says:

What are the preconditions for a coaching change?

Also, can Gomez be demoted or does he have a no-movement clause?

  21. hablifting says:

Watching the end of the Wings/Leafs game. I don’t think there is a team that gets away with more slashing/hooking and holding then the Wings. Hate them even more then the Leafs, that’s saying something.

  22. Jonson says:

Gomez just keeps getting worse and worse. and he doesnt miss a shift!! and why is PK not on the PP, i mean the last 20 seconds isnt it enough. Martins worst game of the year. no doubt about it. ANd lets get Weber back on d. SOpel and hamrlik were really bad tonight. ELLER WAS THE BEST CENTER TONIGHT and he prob played the least. PUT gionta back with PLeks!!!! we really need for GIo to get back on his game before the playoffs. AND POOR PRICE!!!!

  23. adam76 says:

They need to booooo these jokers all night.

  24. Clay says:

…this is how it ends…not with a bang, but with a whimper.
PATHETIC game. In all my 41 years I have never seen a Habs team so disinterested in winning.

  25. punkster says:

Oh well. Slump. Rant and rave, call for their heads, fire everyone, whatever. It’s a slump. They’ll be back.

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

  26. Flobomb12 says:

Anyone have any idea what it would take for Martin to wake up and bench Gomez? Think if he was -85 and the rest of the team was in the + it would happen? Just wondering

    • MathMan says:

Gomez plays because Jacques Martin understands his value and the importance of matchups, and how using Eller (or, heaven forbid, Desharnais) in his place would be throwing them into the fire. He knows that while they might look good strutting their stuff against bottom lines, they would look a lot worse playing tough minutes than Gomez himself does.

But it’s pointless at this point; Gomez has become victim of the Habs’ peanut gallery national pastime, confirmation bias. At this point, regardless of whether he plays well or not, Gomez will be said to suck. There’s nothing he can do about it at this juncture.

      • Bill says:

Just noticed you use the term “confirmation bias” for the second time in an hour. Did you just learn that one or something?

        Full Breezer 4 Life

      • twilighthours says:

Digging deep for an alternative viewpoint. How very you..

Or consider this: he actually does suck.

        • MathMan says:

A guy actually sucking looks more like Mike Cammalleri than Scott Gomez.

Cammy is being spared the attention because everyone is so focussed on Gomez, but if there is one player on the Habs who *really* worries me, he’s it. Here’s a goal-scorer who is *not getting shots*. That’s a lot more troublesome than a playmaker who creates scoring chances but can’t buy a goal for his teammates.

          • twilighthours says:

I wish you watched the games with the same level of detail that you studied the stats. There’s so much about Gomez that sucks right now. He’s actually sucked all season long, and only Patches made him look good for a few weeks. Gomez skates himself into traffic and throws the puck blindly away, never drives the puck with strength into a scoring area, refuses to hit or take a hit, never wins a puck battle, and has become incredibly soft in his own zone. A good playmaker creates chances for his teammates and sets up easy goals. Right now, he isn’t doing that. I still think he can turn it around but in my opinion he is the most under-performing player on the team by far.

And yea, Cammalleri is sucking too. But he’s a streaky scorer, so you can forgive that to a degree.

  27. MICP says:

We only gave up 2 goals. There no way that the rangers or sabres will ever catch us in the standings.

  28. Keith says:

Three games in a row! UNF***INGBELIEVABLE!!!!

  29. Jdub1515 says:

call a timeout and only kirk talks. JM has a job only cause hes french. period. its a fact its politics, find the most accomplished FRENCH available coach and give him the job. no 25th cup for us cause irvin, bowman, blake or burns aint walkin thru that door, all of which were english

  30. Bugs says:

That was the best play of the night.
    Gionta.

Chillin like MacMillan, potty-boy says he’s L. B. Potter, esq.

  31. mrhabby says:

what a frustating night…weird line combo’s, not much emotion. habs just seemed blah..feeling no inspiration..wtf.

iam sympathetic towards price..seems like its all on his shoulders.
    2 points from 8th..

  32. brettly says:

seriously…what a bunch of pathetic little girls on skates…does the teem just feel like not scoring anymore?or does martin need to grow some balls and stop making stupid excuses for this lame habs team and tear on them….am i the only one who thinks roman hamerlik just needs to keep off the ice?..hmm oh wait..why not another penalty? we’ve pulled 5 already..lets throw another one in

  33. deuce6 says:

No grit, no character, and no scoring ability…
    ——————

Yes, I’m a Hab fan..Wanna fight about it?

  34. 24moreCups says:

    Nice save Gio!

  35. EsseV says:

time to put price on the power play, he cant do worse

  36. joe-hab-nuno says:

Why did I bother watching this sad team

  37. ManApart says:

Wow, what a joke. They played pretty good defensively, but offense was horrible. Just can’t get to the net for any kind of goalie pressure. First time in 62 years Habs are shutout 3 in a row. Habs 2 points out of 8th and Buffalo has a game in hand. Will it be Philly time? That would be very, very bad.

    • HotHabs says:

at this rate, they’ll be fighting for 8th place.

I agree with your comments. D was decent tonight. Price was good when he had to be. But, the offense was abysmal with only a couple of sustained sequences in Was zone. Holtby gets the easiest shutout of his young career.
There was so much confusion on offense it was turning “keystone cops”

  38. TheMock780 says:

At the end of the day JM has done as good of a job as we can expect this season with such a roster decimated with injury (Markov, Georges, Max-Pac, etc) and high-payed vets who didn’t give it there all every night (Gomez, Cammy) but why he continues to not use PK on the PP is baffling

  39. MathMan says:

The awfulness of the Centre Bell crowd never ceases to amaze me.

Sometimes I wonder if they really deserve an elite club. I’m not convinced they would be able to recognize it if they did.

    • _Habsoloutly_ says:

So you expect them to cheer being shut out three games in a row?

    • When you’re paying 200 bucks to see trash like this, what do you expect?

      • MathMan says:

I expect the Habs fans to act like the knowledgeable fanbase they pretend they are, and not start booing in the first period when the score is 1-0.

Exactly what do they think it will accomplish? Make the passing more accurate? Cause Tomas Plekanec or Andrei Markov to miraculously heal? Do they think it incites harder working, as if it would make a difference?

It’s useless, and it’s an embarassment, is what it is. The Habs have to contend with bad weather, high-pressure media and, too, a terrible crowd. It’s no wonder they have trouble attracting free agents.

But I can get that. It’s just that the Habs’ crowd has this reputation as a fantastic, knowledgeable bunch and they’re pretty much exactly the opposite.

    • t1tan5 says:

Are you kidding me? The Habs are full value for a right booing tonight.

    • HotHabs says:

      elite???? grow a pair

    • the_larry says:

Sometimes I wonder if some of the people on here (you) are watching the same Habs team that Im watching.. You must be dreaming if you think they dont deserve to be booed off the ice.

  40. Larry says:

Good. I can hear the boos now. Let them have it. Please. Don’t let up. Send them off in shame

  41. observer says:

worst 2 gms habs ever had! yes worse than houle by a mile – this owner spent money!

  42. 24moreCups says:

Can we just score one goal, that’s all!

  43. Why the FACK is Gomez getting more PP time than Subban? Is Martin on crack?

  44. mrhabby says:

    thought martin was preaching offence.

  45. habs99 says:

    SCORE A GOAL, PLEASE

  46. STILL no Subban on the PP. I’ve been supporting him all year, but seriously the Habs need to look into firing Jacques Martin. Stubborn ignoramus.

  47. solsub says:

Oh Jesus, this team is going to make the playoffs…

    Oh God please no….

  48. habs001 says:

halpern does not work on the plecks line..moen on the gomez line…every line has to have a player with limited scoring skills…this team has been shut out over 20 times last 2 years…we are loaded with non goal scoring forwards just like last year…this organization seems to prefer 2-1 games…pk looks like was ordered not to take any chances…gill still out there to provide goals…

  49. EsseV says:

someone tell me when it became such a good idea to have Plekanec on the point of the pp and no more subban. for the love of god.

  50. Larry says:

WHere is the crowd reaction? Let these guys have it. God knows, with the exception of Carey, they deserve it

  51. TheMock780 says:

Suddenly we’re 2 points from 8th place and that upcoming game against Carolina is looking bigger and bigger. Yikes. Not quite time to start looking forward to the draft………yet………….(Come on Mark McNeill!)

  52. twilighthours says:

Ugly. Firstly, why is sopel on the ice? Secondly, gionta hung him out to dry with that pass.

There are so many things broken with the Gomez gionta line, where to begin?

  53. king ddd says:

i am actually glad i am not watching the game, from the looks of it its not going well. i had a bad feeling about this ever since we scored 8 on the wild. i think its JM’s message to players for not playing his system.

    ** Buck Fruins **

  54. t1tan5 says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Habs got booed for the last 3 minutes.

  55. Flabadagub says:

Wow. Sopel makes Mara look good.

  56. Shiloh says:

Martin is a boring, stubborn coach. They clearly hate him as much as the players in Florida did. Why do we seem to never get a coach who likes offence?

  57. solsub says:

It’s okay, it’s just a slump, right? RIGHT!!!!????

  58. joe-hab-nuno says:

    It’s sad……..so sad…
    It’s a sad sad situation

  59. Clay says:

    Over.
    Shit.

  60. Larry says:

Is it possible they have quit on Martin? Maybe they want him gone and feel that tanking is the only way to do it? I think we are going to see a total collapse here and finish out of the playoffs.

  61. DearyLeary says:

Since when are we the worst team in the league? 3 shutouts in a row is beyond pathetic.

  62. HNS says:

    This team is beautiful.

  63. Keith says:

    It’s over(((

  64. hansolo says:

    Well, there’s the game…

  65. habsoul says:

Adios, amigos! Time to walk the dogs.

  66. MICP says:

    GAME OVER!!!!!!!!!!

    Bunch of dumb luck.

  67. WTF HAPPENED THERE…..3 ON 0???

  68. pmaraw says:

    Good night.

  69. Habbu says:

The Caps look like they played last night..we look like we played this afternoon. Just look gassed…exhausted

  70. Chuck says:

Habs did their part for Earth Hour by not lighting that pesky, electricity-gulping red light behing the Capital net.
