Chris F. Neil …. with the Captain in the penalty box.
So what’s the deal? Whenever it’s on RDS, we lose…….
gonna be a long season without a Bonafied enforcer who can skate!
It’s the preseason, how can you even say that?
25 before 14
I’ve seen more than enough of palisaj, masse, woywitka, others. Trim this roster already.
If you’re sick of not being able to view the HIO comment structure from your iPhone, try downloading Mercury browser. If you have alternative suggestions, please send them along!
As I have said before, send the kids back home & put the Big boys together. That will give them a fews games before the season starts!
It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!
We need GOMEZ to win!!!! Haha
The first Ref gift wrap of the season. Never too early to start.
Spacek screening Price. God I really dislike that Player. I never have liked him or ever will …
Not to worry. Price will get better once the season starts.
wtg captain Gionta for taking a stupid penalty and costing us our game
Yes and these pre season games are so important in the standings.
You got your work cutout tonight trying to remind everyone preseason Punkster, a for effort, keep it up.
Ya. Pretty useless endeavour. I give up.
We just got beat up by Neil again………..
What a crap game. Feels like regular season because it was gifted to the other team.
…By our defence. Couldn’t beat on their backup goaltender and the weak half of their training squad Andrew.
– I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

Buff to make ya sick!!!
Chris F. Neil
GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is our year!
as usual we are getting kicked around by chris neil and Carkner and nobody around to help out on our team. Looks like its gonna be a farken long season again with only our middleweight ‘white” and the “fight in spurts” Moen …….sighs
Oh for heaven’s sake man. Never, I repeat never, base your season predictions on the pre season nonsense.
I wouldn’t worry about Pleks or any of the vets.
Price has looked pretty sharp tonight
That was almost a Saku-esque retaliation penalty.
GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is our year!
Plex took a stick to the face, no call.
pretty weak call to make in a 2-2 game with that little time left.
Pleks seems to be in a fog these days
Palushaj should have taken that one himself, he was too tentative
What in the blue hell did Pleks do over the summer! He seems lost!
Whoops, wrong person I replied to
What just happened there? I missed that goal…
The puck went off the Habs D-Man & went past Price …
Ugly shift, but now we know that woywitka is not an NHL defenseman
Too bad Gauthier didn’t know it beforehand.
Well signing him to a 2-way contract suggests he had a hunch.
Wasn’t Neil Boone. It was the Habs D-Man who scored!
Man, I hate those fluky deflection goals.
Karma for the Gomez goal off Alfie’s skate
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Not a good shift for Woywitka
Alex Picard was better.
So was Paul Mara.
I always thought Mara was a serviceable 7th dman for the team
Mara was great last year when called upon. Don’t understand why we didn’t resign him.
I think it perhaps it was an anti facial hair thing, he had the beard of beards.
Bring back Mara.
I didn’t see the green guys…we should get a bleu, a blanc, and a rouge guy.
Cool idea, but that would bean having to reserve three seats instead of two.
Chuck, very sharp lol
The epitome of a first world problem. LOL
Let’s leave the Green Guys to the Canucks. That’s their shtick, it’s a good one, we don’t need to copy it.
How about it NHL? No fighting, just hockey?
What’s this I hear about RDS launching a companion service? I wonder when it will be on air and what programming it will feature. It would be nice if they kept us informed.
Didn’t mean to post & run, but I had to go coach my youngest’s game. To Mr. Berkshire:
“I have a feeling that Pacioretty and Cole will only be on the same line during crunch time, like they were at the end of the game last night. When you need 2 big bodies to crash the net.”
Cool. Can you fill me in on the philosophy on Cole-Pleks-Cammi? Is it the chemistry with Gio on the other line?
PS: Hab in Surrey–then I don’t feel so bad about our 2:45 game out at UBC ;–)
Philosophy is a bit of a stretch, the point is just to have a mucker to open up ice for the smaller guys.
Eric Cole: “Mucking goalscorer!”
…it’s obvious My son is playing soccer this evening (only 5:45 PM here) …I am obviously too on HIO …on another tab I am watching the stream ( http://220.127.116.11/~sportsb1/channel2.html) …and, yet on ANOTHER tab I am listening to the supposed ‘Official Radio Station Of The Montreal Canadiens’ Team 990
…got to say this ‘team’ of Bartlett & Dollas’ are underwhelming …Bartlett sounds like any generic play by play in small-town North America …Dollas, maybe knowledgeable, but stolid and bland
…WHY wasn’t Chris Nilan brought in ? …WHERE is Sergio ? …HOW can a Montreal that has produced so many original and entertaining ‘voices’ in broadcastig can not source a better play-by-play man than sourcing Bartlett from Toranna, of all the sphincter-towns on this planet ?
Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY
Crowd has to get their preseason practice in, too.
As long it’s not the Goodbye song it’s all good. Saw a lead evaporate and a tight shootout win occur last time I heard that one early.
Agreed. “Olay” all you want during the game, but the Goodbye song should be saved for defeating a team that we won’t see until the following season.
I like Marc Denis… but he Praises Cammalleri waaay too much like he is a 40 goal Scorer..
You realise he’s got 2 tonight right?
He had 39 that one year, so…close enough.
Nice mix. Tool’s Sober to Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls
Not an NHL game if Metallica or AC/DC is not featured for in-arena music.
Or the Crüe
Audio different tonight; lower mics’ boosted.
Can hear rinkside jerkwaters drunkenly brayin into’em.
Not a fan of set-up. Prefer original mix. Hope it to be tentative exercise.
Back from the Brink’s boasts L. B. Potter, esq.
Good ears Bugs. I noticed the same thing myself. Prefer the classic audio to this.
I also miss the original H I/O blog format.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”Goo
…overenthusiastic, inexperienced play by Beaulieu costs a goal, but JM is smart enough to know Beau will learn from it
I have to agree. But sitting here in the stands watching the kid skating on the ice makes me think he’ll be up for next season’s play-offs.
Beaulieu skates a bit like Paul Coffey used to do…..
A goal against in the last minute of a period. Let’s hope that doesn’t become a habit, like it did last year.
Where have we seen a goal in the last min before?
Didn’t like the run at Beaulieu, nor did I like that Ottawa was 5 feet offside on that goal.
Alerts are WAY late. Scores also behind.
Otherwise enjoying this app.
…haha …just received HIO’s push-alert on My Ipod Touch for Cammelleri’s first goal …Mike I know You’re gittin’ as ol’ as Red, but THAT goal was scored at least 20 minutes ago …yeeesh
How come the score on this site shows 1-0 Montreal but TSN RDS show 2 -0 this site is behind big time and they have been told but won’t fix?
Nearly only counts in horse shoes Boone!
If people think this is bad, read up what the Vancouver Canucks have been doing to avoid putting any of their guys on the ice in a pre-season game, they’ve brought in a lot of guys just on Pro try-out deals to avoid putting their own skaters out there.
PP needs a tweakin™
cant believe this beaulieau kid, 10 minutes in the 1st
Beaulieu just keeps impressing. Nicely won puck battle and then clears the zone with ease.
WOW! What a goal!
Cammy puts the biscuit in the basket!
The cookie in the cradle.
The disque in the depot. Are we doing alphabetical?
The entity in the exchequer.
The ember in the emblem.
lol beat me to it Bugs
The freak in the FAQ. Ok, now it’s just weird.
WOW WOW WOW ….
Max Pac, Gomez & Cammi tearing it up now! What a great season it will be!
Nuke Paloosh not doin too bad.
Hasn’t scored though…
CAMMI with a beauty!!!!
GOLDEN CAMMALLERI! F’ING GOLDEN!
How long will the 1st lead of the pre-season last?
Palushaj having a way better game.
What a relief indeed, I had him rated as the most NHL-ready Bulldog and if he wasn’t ready to go the guys behind him… oh my.
Nice, Beaulieu has two helpers now (in the season). This guy can rack up points.
Sweet! First lead in the preseason!
Yeah baby … 1st lead of the season!
Pleks is so off his rhythm.
Another Great Season for Cammalleri..!!! this time he’ll Score no more then 19..maybe 20. his Attitude stinks…
Do not feed…
Nom nom nom nom.
wait what? are there 2 cammalleri’s in the league?
@ Chris79 – You’re kidding, right?
Exciting Pre-seasons aren’t they……. yay.
Aww, bitter troll is bitter.
Geoff Molson says all the right things: he will be informed but not involved in hockey decisions, the rebuilding program is finished and he is optimistic about the future in the near and longer term, he leaves Collective Bargaining issues to the NHL, and he participated in the online ticket sale to see how it works for the fans, but had to jam out early because his sons had hockey games to play and he needed to leave. Excellent work, in flawless French.
I had fears when Mr. Gillett bought the team, but he turned out to be a benevolent owner who was amply rewarded for his professional stewarship as owner, and my fears were unfounded. I rejoiced when Mr. Molson’s group won the bidding for the Canadiens, it is a good sign that the family with deep roots in Montreal and which has had a long, productive association with the team is back in the owners’ box. Our new team president seems a long way removed from clowns such as George Steinbrenner, Harold Ballard or Claude Brochu, our national legacy is in good hands.
If you think Steinbrenner was a clown then your a lost soul!!
Damn, I’m jaded already; halfway through reading your post I was sure it was going to turn ugly. Well said. I must need an adult beverage, excuse me…
for those needing a working stream of tonight’s game
“I could get used to this centre-ice view … Just kidding, Red”
Cause Red spurned attending the game and is instead at home with a Chivas Regal, breathlessly following Boone’s blog.
I imagine Red as more of a Laphroaig man. He’s a legend after all.
Uncanny how Spaceman picks up where he left off shootin on his guys more often’n he does on the net, eh?
Gone figuratively fishin filibusts L. B. Potter, esq.
Also looks like Chara may play tomorrow night to could be some fights in the stands with all the Goons fans down this way.
Me like Archambault!
Guys who haven’t impressed so far: Palushaj, Engqvist, Moen
OOH yea baby I have tickets for the Habs and the goons in Halifax and looks like we get PL Subban. Only paid 65.00 a ticket a deal to see the best player in the NHL hands down.
This game lacks a certain, how do you say, Subbanness?
