  3. twilighthours says:

I’ve seen more than enough of palisaj, masse, woywitka, others. Trim this roster already.

    • DEANDALLEY says:

As I have said before, send the kids back home & put the Big boys together. That will give them a fews games before the season starts!

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  4. Paulin98C says:

We need GOMEZ to win!!!! Haha

  5. JasonM says:

The first Ref gift wrap of the season. Never too early to start. 🙂

  6. DEANDALLEY says:

Spacek screening Price. God I really dislike that Player. I never have liked him or ever will …

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  7. HabsFanMTL says:

wtg captain Gionta for taking a stupid penalty and costing us our game

  8. The Dude says:

We just got beat up by Neil again………..

  9. What a crap game. Feels like regular season because it was gifted to the other team.

  10. NLhabsfan says:

    Buff to make ya sick!!!

  11. Propwash says:

  12. RGM says:

    Chris F. Neil

GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is our year!

  13. HabsFanMTL says:

as usual we are getting kicked around by chris neil and Carkner and nobody around to help out on our team. Looks like its gonna be a farken long season again with only our middleweight ‘white” and the “fight in spurts” Moen …….sighs

  14. punkster says:

I wouldn’t worry about Pleks or any of the vets.

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

  15. HabinBurlington says:

Price has looked pretty sharp tonight

  16. RGM says:

That was almost a Saku-esque retaliation penalty.
GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is our year!

  17. Propwash says:

Plex took a stick to the face, no call.

  18. showey47 says:

pretty weak call to make in a 2-2 game with that little time left.

  19. Propwash says:

Pleks seems to be in a fog these days

  20. durocher says:

Palushaj should have taken that one himself, he was too tentative

  21. DEANDALLEY says:

What in the blue hell did Pleks do over the summer! He seems lost!

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  22. Chuck says:

What just happened there? I missed that goal…

  23. twilighthours says:

Ugly shift, but now we know that woywitka is not an NHL defenseman

If you’re sick of not being able to view the HIO comment structure from your iPhone, try downloading Mercury browser. If you have alternative suggestions, please send them along!

  24. DEANDALLEY says:

Wasn’t Neil Boone. It was the Habs D-Man who scored!

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  25. Propwash says:

Man, I hate those fluky deflection goals.

  26. durocher says:

Not a good shift for Woywitka

  27. RGM says:

I didn’t see the green guys…we should get a bleu, a blanc, and a rouge guy.

GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is our year!

  28. Un Canadien errant says:

What’s this I hear about RDS launching a companion service? I wonder when it will be on air and what programming it will feature. It would be nice if they kept us informed.

How about it NHL? No fighting, just hockey?

  29. VancouverHab says:

Didn’t mean to post & run, but I had to go coach my youngest’s game. To Mr. Berkshire:

“I have a feeling that Pacioretty and Cole will only be on the same line during crunch time, like they were at the end of the game last night. When you need 2 big bodies to crash the net.”

Cool. Can you fill me in on the philosophy on Cole-Pleks-Cammi? Is it the chemistry with Gio on the other line?

PS: Hab in Surrey–then I don’t feel so bad about our 2:45 game out at UBC ;–)

  30. Habitant in Surrey says:

…it’s obvious My son is playing soccer this evening (only 5:45 PM here) …I am obviously too on HIO …on another tab I am watching the stream ( …and, yet on ANOTHER tab I am listening to the supposed ‘Official Radio Station Of The Montreal Canadiens’ Team 990
…got to say this ‘team’ of Bartlett & Dollas’ are underwhelming …Bartlett sounds like any generic play by play in small-town North America …Dollas, maybe knowledgeable, but stolid and bland
…WHY wasn’t Chris Nilan brought in ? …WHERE is Sergio ? …HOW can a Montreal that has produced so many original and entertaining ‘voices’ in broadcastig can not source a better play-by-play man than sourcing Bartlett from Toranna, of all the sphincter-towns on this planet ?

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

  31. Propwash says:

    Olays? Really?

  32. Chris79 says:

I like Marc Denis… but he Praises Cammalleri waaay too much like he is a 40 goal Scorer..

  33. HardHabits says:

Nice mix. Tool’s Sober to Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls

  34. Bugs says:

Audio different tonight; lower mics’ boosted.
Can hear rinkside jerkwaters drunkenly brayin into’em.
Not a fan of set-up. Prefer original mix. Hope it to be tentative exercise.

Back from the Brink’s boasts L. B. Potter, esq.

    • Danno says:

Good ears Bugs. I noticed the same thing myself. Prefer the classic audio to this.

I also miss the original H I/O blog format.

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”Goo

  35. Habitant in Surrey says:

…overenthusiastic, inexperienced play by Beaulieu costs a goal, but JM is smart enough to know Beau will learn from it

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

  36. otter649 says:

Beaulieu skates a bit like Paul Coffey used to do…..

  37. hansolo says:

A goal against in the last minute of a period. Let’s hope that doesn’t become a habit, like it did last year.

  38. DEANDALLEY says:

Where have we seen a goal in the last min before?

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  39. Didn’t like the run at Beaulieu, nor did I like that Ottawa was 5 feet offside on that goal.

  40. elduquay says:

Alerts are WAY late. Scores also behind.
    Otherwise enjoying this app.

  41. Habitant in Surrey says:

…haha …just received HIO’s push-alert on My Ipod Touch for Cammelleri’s first goal …Mike I know You’re gittin’ as ol’ as Red, but THAT goal was scored at least 20 minutes ago …yeeesh

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

  42. sreuel says:

How come the score on this site shows 1-0 Montreal but TSN RDS show 2 -0 this site is behind big time and they have been told but won’t fix?

  43. DEANDALLEY says:

Nearly only counts in horse shoes Boone!

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  44. SeriousFan09 says:

If people think this is bad, read up what the Vancouver Canucks have been doing to avoid putting any of their guys on the ice in a pre-season game, they’ve brought in a lot of guys just on Pro try-out deals to avoid putting their own skaters out there.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  45. Propwash says:

    PP needs a tweakin™

  46. pmaraw says:

cant believe this beaulieau kid, 10 minutes in the 1st

  47. Beaulieu just keeps impressing. Nicely won puck battle and then clears the zone with ease.

  48. GenerationYHabs says:

    WOW! What a goal!

  49. Danno says:

Cammy puts the biscuit in the basket!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  55. DEANDALLEY says:

How long will the 1st lead of the pre-season last?

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  56. Propwash says:

  57. Nice, Beaulieu has two helpers now (in the season). This guy can rack up points.

  58. Propwash says:

Sweet! First lead in the preseason!

  59. DEANDALLEY says:

Yeah baby … 1st lead of the season!

It is all for nothing if we don’t win the Stanley Cup!

  60. Chris79 says:

Another Great Season for Cammalleri..!!! this time he’ll Score no more then 19..maybe 20. his Attitude stinks…

  61. Un Canadien errant says:

Geoff Molson says all the right things: he will be informed but not involved in hockey decisions, the rebuilding program is finished and he is optimistic about the future in the near and longer term, he leaves Collective Bargaining issues to the NHL, and he participated in the online ticket sale to see how it works for the fans, but had to jam out early because his sons had hockey games to play and he needed to leave. Excellent work, in flawless French.

I had fears when Mr. Gillett bought the team, but he turned out to be a benevolent owner who was amply rewarded for his professional stewarship as owner, and my fears were unfounded. I rejoiced when Mr. Molson’s group won the bidding for the Canadiens, it is a good sign that the family with deep roots in Montreal and which has had a long, productive association with the team is back in the owners’ box. Our new team president seems a long way removed from clowns such as George Steinbrenner, Harold Ballard or Claude Brochu, our national legacy is in good hands.

How about it NHL? No fighting, just hockey?

  62. Habitant in Surrey says:
for those needing a working stream of tonight’s game

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

  63. tote-road says:

“I could get used to this centre-ice view … Just kidding, Red”

Cause Red spurned attending the game and is instead at home with a Chivas Regal, breathlessly following Boone’s blog.

  64. Bugs says:

Uncanny how Spaceman picks up where he left off shootin on his guys more often’n he does on the net, eh?

Gone figuratively fishin filibusts L. B. Potter, esq.

  65. novahab says:

Also looks like Chara may play tomorrow night to could be some fights in the stands with all the Goons fans down this way.

    Me like Archambault!

  67. durocher says:

Guys who haven’t impressed so far: Palushaj, Engqvist, Moen

  68. novahab says:

OOH yea baby I have tickets for the Habs and the goons in Halifax and looks like we get PL Subban. Only paid 65.00 a ticket a deal to see the best player in the NHL hands down.

  69. EricMelvin says:

This game lacks a certain, how do you say, Subbanness?
