Back-to-back shutouts against Northeast Division rivals.

First consecutive shutouts since Jan. 15-16, 2007.

Man, how BAD are the Minnesota Wild?

Memo to Max Pacioretty from his teammates: “We love you, bro. But not enough to show up in Boston.”

A 3-on-5 shorty?

C’mon man!

  1. Ron says:

The puck droped at the start of the game and our Habs laid down and played dead. Very poor showing for at least 12 bodies and I say bodies because thats all they were, filling in a spot. Wow, not looking forward to the playoffs if we are playing the Bruins first. The Bruins didn’t need to play dirty, all they needed to do was look cross and we gave up the puck. Shame, shame.

  2. Jdub1985 says:

If there was any question for Vezina it was decided tonight. sorry Price, habs couldnt even get 1 for you.

  3. mb says:

well… I guess that’s what happens when you play with no heart, no grit, no passion.

  4. Chuck says:

Gionta missing a wide open net, Thomas having to make two difficult saves all night, shutout 6 1/2 periods in a row… makes you wonder if the team is going to score another goal this season.

  5. mrhabby says:

was it just me or did the habs look scared, intimidated…viscious cirlce..can’t score and can’t get frustrated.

  6. Bill says:

Wow. That is one pathetic hockey team we watched tonight. I really have no comeback for anything a Bruins fan could say about that one.

Let me rethink that “let’s take Boston in round one” groove I’ve been in. Those Habs couldn’t have beaten Providence tonight.

Can’t fault any particular player: the whole team delivered nothing. I would say Price, Auld, Subban, and Mara showed up for this one.

Pleks played like a little girl, and Cammalleri played like his little sister!

    • MathMan says:

I still think that if the Habs meet the Bruins in the first round, the Habs come out 60% of the time, even on the road.

Overblowing a single game is a trap people fall over and over and over again. Especially a blowout, which are inherently meaningless.

  7. larisalapointe says:

Who voted Chara 3rd star….wow talk about a stab in the back.

  8. Jdub1985 says:

    Nobody is smelling coffee yet?

This isnt a Loss … this was a massacre – not only that but they still gave headshots and we did nothing … how do you idolize this team? seriously? Heros have dignity and big brass balls – Montreal has none of the above.

JM had no answer No ADJUSTMENTS … he has 1 system and it shows … I rather Geoff Molson behind the bench

    • HabinVan says:

Last time I checked it was 1 game in an 82 game schedule. Get over it. On to the next one. What would your coaching credentials be there Jdub? couple hundred games of nhl 11 experience?

  9. Top Corner says:

That was the worst game ive ever watched from the Habs

    That better be a F. joke ? Right ?

  10. billylove says:

Anyone think Price still has a shot at the Vezina?

  11. Big Ted says:

Hope the league steps up and suspends Marchand. That’s two dirty head shots he’s thrown in 3 games now, and after he made such a big deal about Cooke deserving a long suspension for being a repeat offender, what can he say about himself? That was yet another head shot on a player who had his head down and although Gomez “embellished things” by bleeding all over the bench later, Marchand deserves to sit for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs, just like Cooke. To me, there’s no difference: one guy who has been a repeat offender for a long time and one who obviously hasn’t learned because he’s been back for two games and done it again.

    • oshawahabsfan says:

It was ridiculous how that dolt Maguire couldn’t see his arms raised up to Gomez’ head. All he kept saying was oh that was a face on face hit

    • HabinVan says:

Big Ted what are you smoking? He deserves nothing and will get nothing his helmet just caught gomez in the wrong place. I hate Marchand absolutely loathe him and I cant wait till the day someone gets him with a beauty of a clean hit..however he did nothing wrong on gomez.

    • billylove says:

How many dirty/cheap/illegal hits continue to go unpunished? DON’T EXPECT THE NHL TO “STEP UP!” The Team needs to STEP UP AND PROTECT THEIR OWN! Marchand takes a run, delivers a head shot and NO ONE DOES ANYTHING!!!!!!!! Oh, we’ll just wait until the NHL STEPS UP! It will never happen.

  12. Habitoban says:

It’s one thing to mail it in, but they didn’t even bother to put a stamp on it. They all looked like they were playing scared.

  13. deuce6 says:

Hat tip to the Bruins and Chara for making 20 grown men grow a female part between their legs…

Never thought a Mangina was actually achievable..Guess I was wrong..

Yes, I’m a Hab fan..Wanna fight about it?

  14. higginrs says:

sad game… how can you analyze it?

  15. solomio says:

I thought they were chanting ” Who’s Your Daddy “

  16. bp says:

In the ultimate embarrassment, the pirate feed i was watching while at work had enough and switched to the leafs game…

  17. larisalapointe says:

So our team helped Bruins become a better team. No goonery, hockey only….and they were the better team tonight.

  18. MICP says:

    Look at the bright side……

we only game up 1 touchdown.

  19. Propwash says:

Too bad no reporter would tear Martin a new one.

  20. Jdub1985 says:

This LOSS just cost the habs any potential playoff series against the bruins

  21. HabsalwaysCA says:

Should paychecks be handed out this week ?

    number 25 before 2015

  22. habsfan0 says:

Reporter: Coach, was the team a bit off tonight?
    JM: Mais,evidemment..

  23. Keith says:

Worse game I’ve watched in YEARS!!!!!!

  24. habsfaninboston says:

I’m embarrassed to go to work tomorrow.

  25. Laramy87 says:

Wow.. Just Wow… That is all

They better get thier act together, Sat is not going to be an easy game either

  26. matrags says:

sham sham , no g uts , no heart , sham

  27. Larry says:

    Awful. Just awful

  28. Jdub1985 says:

    Marchand headshot on Gomez

    and nothing … just cowards

  29. coachdoug says:

T@barnac!…Seems like the team’s heart is missing right now…I guess we will find out if we have any leaders…don’t see any tonight

    Go Habs Go!

  30. sidhu says:

I pretty much waited to see if any fights would break out or if the Bruins would take any cheap shots.

Huge loss, more than two points for sure.

I hope the press and others rip this team, the coach, and GM a new one.

  31. Keith says:

    F. U BOOINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. mrhabby says:

man..i had a bad feeling about this game…move on and forget about this. worst game of the year no doubt.

  33. adam76 says:

  34. Propwash says:

Way to mail it in Habs.

  35. mrhab says:

McGuire loves Gomez, hard worker, best player on the ice for the Canadians. why cause hit got hit in the face and still cant score?

  36. petrov14 says:

Gonna be hard to go into work and face the Boston fans tomorrow….

    Long live Captain Gionta.

  37. habs001 says:

camm -4 plecks -4….it will not be easy to come back from a game like this….even the most ardent habs fans should realize that the team we have has no chance to win 4 rounds…this team is still 2-3 years away from being a real contender…

    • oshawahabsfan says:

Bet you said that after the 8-6 game as well. One game never makes a season, otherwise we were sure cup winners with that 8-1 win. You’re making way too much out of this

    • Big Ted says:

We still went 4-2 against them this year and the B’s haven’t beat us on our rink yet. We had a bad game, they had a good one, but it’s still only one win for them no matter the score and if we played a best of 7 against them, it’s likely be pretty close.

  38. 1010 says:

This could be a lot bigger than ‘this is just a game so let’s move on situation’. This is a mess. I really think these guys are going to struggle after tonight.
I hope I’m wrong but this is going to plant a big seed of doubt in these guys. Scored on in a five on three situation. Where’s their pride. This, is disgusting.

  39. Larry says:

I am sure it has happened before but I can never recall a Montreal team give up a two up shorty

  40. Jdub1985 says:

if they cant crack the SO – don’t bring em back

  41. 24moreCups says:

Just score ONE, so Thomas doesn’t get a shut out. I’m tired of seeing him smile.

  42. port elgin says:

    The mighty habs powerplay!

  43. habsfan0 says:

Ultimately, a team assumes the personality of its head coach.

  44. Jdub1985 says:

This IS the most cowardly and shameful moment in Habs history … congrats we were all here to witness.

  45. mb says:

Wow, these 5 minutes are gonna be long.

  46. sidhu says:

Gionta giveaway, he has been horrible tonight, hate to say it.

  47. HabsFanInVictoria says:

This is a brutal game, but all of you haters are worse then any 7-0 score. This team has done an incredible job this season. If your precious ego’s can’t handle a loss like this, then find another team.

  48. port elgin says:

Well, here’s the good news…aside from Gomez’s bloody nose nobody has been hurt.

  49. Keith says:

The way this is all going down is the troubling thing. No solution to the Booins at all.

  50. adam76 says:

Are people still watching this? really?

  51. Larry says:

A game when they should have come out mad and they came out scared. Even now, you think they would go hard down the stretch at least and they are still being dominated.

  52. yehaken says:

    Ladies and Gents,

I know times look grim, but remember, this team was a stretch to make the playoffs when healthy. I hate the Bruins, but they have 4 NHL lines, the NHL disciplinarian, a vezina shoe in goalie, and 40 years of disappointment on their side. Whereas we have Scott Gomez and a team that will be good in 3 years.

  53. port elgin says:

There’s still time to come back…

  54. matrags says:

We gutted out when Patz went down . not a bruin touched . Reap what you sow.

  55. EricInStL says:

I love giving thumbs up to all these comments…. WHOOOOOOO

  59. HotHabs says:

well, Habs giving the B’s a false sense of security and confidence leading into the playoffs… genius

  60. billylove says:

I’m old enough to know when I’ve seen enough and I’ve seen TOO MUCH!

  61. scott9002ca says:

Man… I guess chara successfully killed us 🙁

  62. Cue the 1000 articles talking about how the Habs are the worst team evar and have no heart blah blah blah.

  63. EricInStL says:

Well if no one goes after Marchand…….

Hope Geoff is taking notes, NOTE to scouts: nothing under 6 feet please or you’re fired…..

    • Oh, it’s because we’re too small right? THAT’s what happened tonight. Thanks for the brilliant insight. Wow, so original and thought provoking. Sorry, but this is about the billionth time this remark has been applied in a situation where it makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

      • HotHabs says:

it does carry some logical weight, but not for this game

      • EricInStL says:

Dude, come on. Stop wearing Habs are great glasses. This team CANNOT push back. Plain and simple. Jeez. Physical teams will beat this small team. This was a statement game and they failed.

“A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject”–Winston Churchill

  64. MICP says:

3 on 5 short handed goal!!!!!!!!!!

Our 5 are not even good enough vs 3 Bruins.

  65. Jdub1985 says:

tonite was for u max pac. id ask for a trade. coward coach, if more cowardly team.

  66. Bill says:

Can you believe how 3 Bruins skaters are dominating 5 Montreal skaters?

    Most embarrassing loss in years.

  67. Steven says:

Let’s admit it, we all knew this game was finished after the 1st.

We got a bunch of winnable games coming up. Let’s hope our boys bring their A game and climb the standings a bit.

  68. Eaglefly says:

This is absolutely pathetic !! Just embarasing !!

  69. Timo says:

I so hope that this game will be the straw that broke the camel’s back and it’s a beginning of running Gomez and Cammilleri out of town. I mean, in their hearts they are not in Mtl anyway. They are a complete embarrassment to the uniform. I hope this is also a beginning of getting rid off Gauthier, Bobo and Martin. Let’s face it, nothing is going to be different next year if all the same people remain. Team will have a few promising games, will be bullied by physical teams and just mail it in the rest of the games. Yet again, time for an overhaul.

  70. Rainrocket16 says:

    Just shoot me now!!

  71. adam76 says:

    Fuck this team.

  72. _Habsoloutly_ says:

Thats just pathetic. Garbage effort tonight.

  73. HabsFanInVictoria says:

This is an embarrassing loss. I’m more interested to see how they respond from here on out.

  74. sidhu says:

Wow, I thought it couldn’t get more embarrassing. 7-0, shorty on a 5-on-3.

We say we are a character team, we win games in the room, we have chemistry, etc. Total crap.
