Not exactly a warm welcome back to the NHL.
Down two starters, the Canadiens romp to a 5-1 win.
Three unanswered goals in the third period broke a tight game open.
After losing Jaro Spacek and Mike Cammalleri in the first period, the undermanned Canadiens rallied with opportunistic scoring.
Every goal was a highlight reel job, including a Travis Moen breakaway.
Before he got hurt, Cammalleri scored the Canadiens’ first goal of the season.
First PP goal was a Yannick Weber laser.
Carey Price made 30 saves. Don Cherry called him the best goaltender in the world … and he coached Gilles Gilbert.
And the PK pitched another shutout … including a 5-on-3.

Webber being useful!
WEBERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
EAT IT WPEG
thats why weber whould be on the PP
YES WEBBY!!!
YESS!!
Ill take it.
FUCKKK YEHHH WEBBER!!!
look for an even up call now. soft….
Take that you baboons. I hate the Jets, but this is looking like a good rivalry. I want the Nordiques back now lol
Admittedly, a bad call on Buff — refs are losing this game
Good call there!
…’fighting’ is an essential, unavoidable part of the drama of NHL hockey
Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY
http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=423049
why did PK get a penalty?
cos he’s the 2nd black person Winnipeg ever seen
hahahahaha
Refs should be wearing Jets jerseys tonight, this is ridiculous.
http://twitter.com/andrewberkshire
LoL..!!
Yep. CBC is saying it. Lay the body. Where have we heard that before.
Jets deserve f&&*ing misery. Gosh look real tough hitting Gionta.
It’s hockey. That is part of the game and always should be. Clean hit. C’mon.
Funny how PK gets punched and yet he’s sitting, this is pathetic.
Great the refs are putting away their whistles…
“To be irreplaceable, you have to be different”.

Go PK Go!
The problem is that the Habs have no effective answer if their opponent decides to step it up physically.
Moen has a future with Battle of the Blades.
WOW! Moen looked like Richard LOL
Clearly the Jets are trying to get in Price’s kitchen, as we don’t really have big bodies to force ‘em out
And the JM 3rd period with a lead… blehhh
Price hurt, don’t be sayin’ stuff like that Boone!
Subban is hurt, and Glass forces his head down. F Winnipeg!
And moen does jack shit!
Jets suck.
That goal shouldnt count

How can MacLean sit in the crease like that?
Only way to score on Price is to sit on his head
WTF?? Goalie didn’t even has his helmet on?!
Total crap by Antropov, he was mugging Diaz
Give propos to Engqvist (the Swedish Chef) props. He’s done well tonight. He’s got a pretty bland game, but at least he’s trying. Hell, Yemmy, Diaz and Webo are all doing a good job of stepping into the breach. Even Moen’s giving it a good go.
Now if only our Power Forwards joined the party we could put an end to this little party…

Go PK Go!
re: Betts
to all those that were slagging Habs about medical history, they just confirmed that a team does not and cannot have the medical file of player until the player is their property…
Cole second last in TOI – 7 mins. Better get this guy going or he may be another Gomez!
Cammy gone possibly two weeks per Brian Wilde and his sources at TSN
http://twitter.com/#!/BrianWildeCTV/status/123166882378428416
too early to tell but maybe diaz, weber and emelin can work for a while till markov comes back…now it may they not work when the playoffs start as the hitting and bruising goes up by several notches…enquist has been okay…maybe we should not use plecks in faceoffs as he is pretty bad in our zone…
Phew. Two weeks is better than two months that’s for sure.
The Habs are battling. Good to see. My observation is that they are playing smart and physical, as opposed to just playing physical. They’ll need to play smart as they can if at least to limit the injuries that are not completely due to bad luck.
Nice to see the CBC’s Healy touting the two Habs “studs” in Price and Subban.
The schedule helps too. The next game is not until Thursday.
Give Cole a chance, he needs to adjust, and just because he doesn’t have the speed doesn’t mean he isn’t good. As Habs fans we have to stop turning on players because of a few missed shots! I’m surprised you jackals aren’t tearing Gionta apart for fanning on the puck twice out there
two?
Habs need to think about picking up Owen Nolan.
how much does mxCabe want >??????????????
Diaz, Emelin have stepped up — I wish I could say the same for Gomer and his line
They have and that’s a positive sign given the rash of injuries!
Can someone enlighten me. Is it true Habs Mgmt knew that Markov would NOT start the season when they signed him? Or, was the setback a surprise to all ,including Habs Mgmt?
Sal from the Hammer
I f!@#ing hate my internet…AT&T Uverse is complete BS…the my bandwidth is supposed to be 6MB but repeated speedtests are showing between 1 and 3 MB…grrrr

See the yahoos behind Hawerchuk? I wonder who’s minding the trailor park???
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Two weeks for Cammy… phew. Maybe Palushaj will get a nod to take a spot
I wish we could get some facts on the Markhov injury…..is his career in jeopardy or what?
On schedule. Skating on his own
Source?
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
JM’s interviews via this website.
If he was on schedule like they said last spring he would be on the ice. I don’t believe a word they say.
Never said whos schedule he was on
Gotta give props to the Habs for playing a good road game. Beautiful goal by Pleks. Yemelin and Diaz so far so good. At least they have some experience so they are not a rookie in the sense of the word.
To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.
wtf,..,where are all the comments

i updated a bajillion times and I didn;t see an update on the comments since the beginning of the 2nd period

go to the bottom of the page and click the link that says “newer comments” if this happens again.
Put AK with plec and cole and Moen back with DD and Darche
+1

2 weeks for Cammy says CTV
Cole driving to the net….shoots the puck into the corner……how much are they paying this guy again?
Thoughts: Markov is invisible out there. Almost as invisible as Cole. Gorges needs to work on his wristshot. We look a little scattered and I can’t explain what I mean by that
What’s the news on spats?????
I see why JM hates AK, instead of clearing and giving possesion he passed back to our d and so we kept possesion,
BAD BAD!
if they can get out of this period!!
why is moen on the first line and not AK ? wtf JM? stop being stupid, moen is a 4th liner put AK on top line now!!!!
Good news on cammy! Especially with only 5-6 games in the next 2 weeks.
Maybe losing Campoli and Betts is a blessing in disguise.
Diaz and Y/E melin looking good. Getting more time.
Betts is a center; if Engvist can play well like this consistently, then I agree.
Spacek on the shelf for a bit would be a blessing. He’s not built for an 82 game season plus a post-season, and I agree that Diaz and Emelin are looking pretty good.
I hope your right but too much pressure on Plexs. PK, PP, 1st line, extra shifts at center. How much can one guy do?
Betts was a forward. How does Engvist look?
LOL, not implying Betts would’ve played defensem, but rather open up ice time for another player.
And yes, Engvist has never looked this good.
2 weeks for the stitches to heal, eh?
Olé, olé, olé oleé
I’d like to know what happened to the Kevlar socks that all of the Habs were supposed to wear after Markov got accidentally cut by Price 2 seasons ago ?! The replay looked like Cammy’s sock was in place. If I were a reporter, I’d sure be asking about the socks.
no kiddin
Olé, olé, olé oleé
good point
Let’s all rag on Gomez.should have two assists in first period.
And let’s give up on Cole-afterall it’s almost 5 periods into the year.
Is it me that it doesn’t sound right when Healy praises our players,
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Diaz was pretty awesome there.
That was a nice play by Diaz, after his terrible giveaway.

Nice work by Diaz.
Can’t believe how much the CBC announcers are praising Carey, they won’t shut up about him, just like they’re doing now on TSN. I was hearing a lot different in the 2nd game last year.
“They don’t hang Conference Championship Banners from the rafters here”
Carey Price
Diaz FTW !!!:)

Weber on the PP makes all kinds of sense. His shot is good and he’s starting to move like a D man. Way better option than playing Pleks at the point. You need someone with a bit of a canon, non?
Ah Pleks! What a play on Oduya! Wow!
“To be irreplaceable, you have to be different”.

Go PK Go!
I actually like our new D, yes theyre not big, BUT, theyre all fast, even Emelin is a fast skater
He looked slow in the preseason. Maybe he is more confident and comfortable. not hesitating.
Yeah, i guess he just needs the adjustment time.
I would trade Gomez for 1/2 a Pleks,
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Plek is just so underrated

Best all around player for Montreal. Go plecky!
Loved the goal and loved the CBC recognizing this fact!
Fight on warriors!
The drive for 25 is alive!
Nice pass by Moen too.
That was amazing what Plex just did

Ooooh yeeeah Plecky!
