Liveblog: Cammalleri to Calgary

Mike Cammalleri was intercepted in the tunnel on his way to the ice for the third period.
He was sent back to the room to talk to Pierre Gauthier.
The upshot: A trade to Calgary (where Cammalleri has played before) for René Bourque.

The Canadiens battled the Bruins for 60 minutes.

And maybe the best is yet to come.

Though not necessarily this season.

  1. Chuck says:

Subban’s hit was high, but Ference came in high on Subban, too.

  2. Mark C says:

The big bad Bruins can’t even take a clean hit. Weak.

  3. Goggles Pizano says:

    Subban wants to be killed.

  4. Habbu says:

    Maybe Cammy has been traded?

  5. gmur says:

F**in Bruins. A legal check and they’re gooning it up.

    • ffenliv says:

Not legal at all. PK’s arm was WAY up there, and it looked quite a bit like the ‘principal point of contact’ was the head.

Of course, the gooning was uncalled for, and yet is the sort of thing we want to see when one of our players gets nailed with an illegal hit. So which is it, do we want toughness, or is that behaviour just indicative of Bruins play.

  6. SUMO says:

love pk. he plays with pride

  7. PureGuava says:

Subban turtling….get him out of here.

  8. gmur says:

What’s depressing is thinking about how long the Bruins will own the Habs… The Bruins have barely broken a sweat tonight.

    • Muckbringer says:

Conan: Almost 20 years of pitiless cumber! No rest, no sleep like other men. And yet the spring wind blows, Subotai. Have you ever felt such a wind?
Subotai: They blow where I live too. In the north of every man’s heart.
Conan: It’s never too late, Subotai.
Subotai: No. It would only lead me back here another day. In even worse company.
Conan: For us, there is no spring. Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm.

  9. Habsbill24 says:

Somebody tell AK to shoot the damn puck. God is he a dumb player.

  10. gmur says:

Cammi-donna is in the room. Broken nail.

  11. Habbu says:

This is definitely a different feeling; watching the standings in reverse order to see how many points we are out of a Top-2 lottery position.

  12. aj says:

Watching the game right now. Its now the halfway time of the 3rd period. Now its a 2-0 Bruins lead. Damn, Cammy and the guys can’t even put the puck on Thomas’s net. I’m getting tired on this!

If Gauthier did spoke w/ Cammalleri, it would be best for him to say thank you for your services and make a trade. As long as #13 agrees to a waive on the no trade clause, this nonsense should be done.

Is Geoff Molson seeing this team? Doesn’t he get the BIG PICTURE?

  13. D Mex says:

Anyone else think Max Pac looks nervous or distracted ?

    ALWAYS Habs –
    D Mex

  14. ffenliv says:

At least the boys are equal-opportunity whiffers. They can’t swat the puck on defense, and they can’t get shots on offense.

  15. homerbowen says:

The Bruins are not putting in much effort. What a difference in drafting. Big, strong, fast Canadian boys vs tiny, weak , frail, injury prone whatevers!!

  16. Bertuzzi says:

Huh? Wha–? Is anybody still watching this game? The Canadiens have become irrelevant.

  17. Hab_in_Japan says:

Only 4 players have no shots on goal….. guess which two players who are making 11 mil combined do NOT have a shot on goal?!?!?!

  18. gmur says:

What a winning attitude Cammi-donna is projecting tonight. What a loser.

  19. deuce6 says:

Lucic starting to start crap..This is why we need a guy that can shut him up and settle him down..MacIntyre was on waivers, but this team doesn’t think the team needs any real toughness…

    Protect your kids, PG…

Yes, I’m a Hab fan..Wanna fight about it?

  20. Muckbringer says:

    re:wifebeater in the picture..

i can still see my own dangle

  21. kerrgte says:

I was hoping against the odds, but Boston is stronger in every way.

Montreal has no defence, no backcheck, no forecheck, no offensive weapons at all, and even Carey has packed it in. This team has sfa.

So long M Gauthier, you did not do your job.

  22. deuce6 says:

The cage needs a major rattling..This team is too weak up front..Cole line can’t do it all themselves..

Yes, I’m a Hab fan..Wanna fight about it?

  23. habaholic68NJ says:

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

*Listen to my instrumental tribute entitled “Habs at War” at

  24. gmur says:

Anyone who defends Cammalleri after this game has to go take some hockey lessons. His completely gutless play after making the kind of statements he did yesterday attests to his character and his respect for his team… and his message is loud and clear: trade me.

0 hits, 0 shots… nada. Go cash your 6 million dollars, big mouth.

    • Habsbill24 says:

Yep, he is a shell of what he was, but still not as bad as Gomez and Gionta is even worse. Great job of leadership as captain. Has he said anything all year? Not only is our captain not bilingual, he is not even unilingual.

  25. SUMO says:

this team just breaks your heart. fire gauthier

  26. Trisomy 21 says:

And with that crap penalty, I’m done watching this

  27. habsperspective says:

Will this be a second straight shut-out.

  28. JayBee says:

I don’t even care if Molson has no one in place. Just fire Gauthier. Get rid of him.

  29. The Dude says:

    Well at least Gorges scored,lol

  30. Danno says:

Did Cammalleri score a hat trick yet?

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  31. showey47 says:

then gorges tips it in to boot. This has been our season in a nutshell.

  32. Corson27 says:

That’s all she wrote folks, this team can’t score.

  33. Hali_Hab says:

Way to pick up the man pleck. Garbage!

  34. Habsbill24 says:

Cammy v Gionta. Before they both started to stink, at least Cammy gave us two great playoff rounds. Gionta? Nothing. In fact the breakaway he missed in game 7 overtime would have knocked out the Bruins but he choked.

  35. matt jordan says:

aw nuts those are the best players the canadiens have

  36. PureGuava says:

Subban with a lazy check….and it’s in the net. Outplay the Bruins in Boston, and lose 3-0……awesome.

  37. showey47 says:

pleky skates right past the puck, brutal.

  38. ffenliv says:

Defensive zone play like that gives me hope for the future.

After all, the future can only be better, right?

  39. temekuhabs says:

    Of course that puke scores

  40. joshbenn says:

    officially over

  41. bellcentre hotdog says:

    The proverbial final nail.

  42. Propwash says:

Crap. Chalk up another L methinks.

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  43. podbay says:

They’re playing better than they did against the Blues, but they’re about to be shutout for the second game in a row. It’s beyond pathetic, it’s sad. When was the last time the Habs were shut out in two consecutive games?

  44. habs178 says:

Shite like that should be a delay of game. Holding the puck dead. Makes more sense than an accidental over the glass penalty.

  45. Bill says:

Mike Blunden withe more ice than Cammalleri. I like Cunneyworth, but that is effing stupid. Get real.

    Full Breezer 4 Life

  46. PrimeTime says:

Ha Ha. You people who come here game after game expecting (wishing) for the same so you can bitch?? Why?? Have you nothing better to do? If habs were winning 3-1 you would post less. You really think your opinions, I use the term loosly, will change anything?? The obvious is the obvious. It aint changing this year. Don’t get the reason why you choose keep coming back? If you saw a crappy movie or read (as if) a crappy book, would you do it again and again?? Take a Hab vacation……or maybe criticize your own habits! Sux to be you!

  47. Trisomy 21 says:

Not sure if it was the suspension or the neck injury but Pacioretty has been a real teddy bear

  48. topher5468 says:

Regarding Penalties, Refs letting them play, not calling cheap holding and hooking , there could have been more called IMO

“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”

Great Nature of Things on CBC about environmental chemicals causing obesity.

Wonder how much of those Guidoune was exposed to as a child…

    —Hope Springs Eternal—

  50. Danno says:

Habs have not scored in more than 100 minutes of hockey

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  51. Habsbill24 says:

Five periods, no goals and no hope. Does Geoff Molson know that sports is in the entertainment industry? Who wants to pay money to watch this train wreck of a team when all you feel at games end is disgust and shame. Wake up and make some changes.

  52. temekuhabs says:

Down only 1 (on a fluke no less) we can win this

  53. Habsbill24 says:

So how is the old “rise together” marketing slogan for this season working out?

  54. joshbenn says:

i can only imagine this bruins team with injuries to key players like lucic, seguin, chara etc. They’ve had alot of luck in this department

  55. deuce6 says:

Shutout for 5 periods in a row now…Why can’t this team score on a consistent basis?

Yes, I’m a Hab fan..Wanna fight about it?

  56. RiverviewCanadien says:

    Is Cammalleri playing tonight?

Come on Mike show us that you are in the best shape of your career.

  57. kempie says:

How is this still a one goal game? Unbelievable.

  58. gumper says:

Feels like the Bs are beginning to take it over. Wearing them down. Not sure they’ll have much left in the third.

  59. Habsbill24 says:

Lucky for us we can go to the bar now. We don’t have to wait until ten.

  60. Goggles Pizano says:

Wadda ya know… Two periods… no goals.

  61. bellcentre hotdog says:

Can’t win with a donut on the board.

    Same old story.

  62. Goggles Pizano says:

Is this what it feels like to be a Leafs fan? I haven’t been able to wear my Leaf’s Suck shirt all season!

    • danhabsfan says:

Yes… this is what Leafs fans feel like. What’s worse, is that the Habs brass looks more like the Harold Ballard era… and that’s even more scary.

      • LA Loyalist says:

Harold Ballard… yikes… and who was the guy that owned the Kings that bought Gretzky and went to jail – and that Boots guy.

Gary Bettman hangs with the best people. But Harold was admittedly in a class of one – with fully padded walls.

  63. gumper says:

He said Habs are getting the penalty.

  64. Stev.R says:

So w/e happened to the automatic 10 games Lucic was supposed to get for coming off the bench to fight?

  65. Habsbill24 says:

Kaberle is totally useless and for 4.25 M this year and the next two. PG should be fired for that move alone.

  66. VancouverHab says:

Okay — message to all those here full of DD-love (e.g. the entire brood of journalists):

If DD is as great as you (incessantly) say he is, isn’t this EXACTLY the time to prove it?

If DD can lift this game, and these times, on the strength of his own guts and skill, then I’ll join the believers.

    So far…. rien.

    • Habsbill24 says:

Plus rien. DD is not the answer. Not as good as Stephane Lebeau or Paul DiPietro, both on the ’93 Cup team.

      • VancouverHab says:

I hadn’t thought of that! (I never liked LeBeau. What I wouldn’t give for another Stephane Richer right now …)

        • LA Loyalist says:

Richer was beautiful to watch, but he made us INSANE. He could pretty much score at will – or not. He destroyed Buffalo Sabres one year in the playoffs almost by himself.

At least we have the security of knowing that our current team is consistent in not scoring…

    • Trisomy 21 says:

The whole team stinks! seriously we’re in danger of being shut out 2 games in a row, and this is a recurring issue too which is kind of annoying, didn’t we just break some kind of record last year doing this?
Anyways my point is why criticize DD, any player can be better right now.

  67. Propwash says:

Be nice if they tied it up by now.

    Don’t let the wultures getcha.

  68. danhabsfan says:

AK plays like Kovalev.. only every few games when he feels like it.
Too bad… he can play when he wants, he needs to want every game

  69. HabsFanMTL says:

is it just me? or does it seem like the habs are playing “hot potato” with the puck. I don’t want it, you take it!,. …….No you take it!……..

  70. Cam_1 says:

Do we ever not mess up our 2 on 1s, 3 on 1s, 3 on 2s. Maxpac and Cole our two most dangerous players and they F*** it up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That pretty much sums up our season…annoying ! Not even a shot !

    Sheeesh man !
