There’s absolutely no doubt that Cole is the leader of this team.

  2. Mondou6 says:

So this sets up an upcoming 20th “must win” game in a row, right?

  3. nolts says:

Guys like that are the reason really good players don’t like to play for habs.

  4. JIMVINNY says:

Cole and DD both hooked and grabbed multiple times on that rush. The Devils have perfected the art of getting away with that.

  5. FlyingFrenchie says:

    Let’s face it…
    With possibility 6 exceptions..
    This team stinks!

  6. Coca Cola Kid says:

Nice job clearing the front of the net Yannick!!!!!

  7. ffenliv says:

Oh Boone you fatalist. You posted at the end of 2 that the only thing left was to determine the goal differential for Brodeur’s shutout. The Habs bag one and you’re full of excitement. The Devils get it back, and you’re bag to the sackcloth-and-ashes routine.

  8. JIMVINNY says:

so much for the shutdown line.

  9. Danno says:

    It’s over

why is it such an issue to get the puck out for this team, esp in the 3rd period. That one is all on Pleks

  11. ffenliv says:

Last night in Vancouver, one of the Leafs players flubbed the most basic clearance you can. I, and everyone else I know, was making fun of me. Have to add Pleks to the list now. He had the puck for a few seconds, waited, waited, and crapped the bed.

  12. blu_blanc_rouge says:

You still believe in Price??? …ask Carbo he’ll tell too!

  13. JIMVINNY says:

Thank heavens. I was worried they were going to come back and win.

Could you picture all NHL teams playing this ‘paint drying’

Max Pacioretty is really becoming the player we all hoped he would be, I remember at some points people thinking he might be a bust but he’s really coming along.

Really glad he can come back so strong after the injury.

    Sheeeeeeeit…
We’ve got them on the back foot!
    This is great.
Shame we coudln’t have pulled this out earlier, but I like it now.

What I DON’T like is these F*$&%(#ING commercial breaks that kill the momentum! They’ve GOT to get rid of that.

it’s like a game of keep away. the boys don’t win the 1 on 1′s. No intensity at all – just not on the same page with a much better NJ team.

  43. FlyingFrenchie says:

Boone needs a triple shot of caffeine
with a double dose of smelling salts to get through this snoozer.
Instead of filing a game report,
perhaps an essay on knitting would be more appropriate.

  44. Marc10 says:

We baldy need to channel some of that Gary Carter energy.

I don’t understand the complete absence of will in this team. It’s not like the Devils have Scott Stevens playing or Brodeur in his prime for that matter…

I’d put Bourque and White against Clarkson. I’d ask them to go and lay into the guy until he loses it. If that’s the way it has to happen… then let’s make it happen.

  45. Da Hema says:

Boone: can you tell us now how many shutouts Brodeur has had in Montreal? I am serious. I am sure there will be one more after this snooze-fest is over.

  46. HabFanSince72 says:

The powerplay remains clueless. That has to be on the coaching staff.

Why remove DD from his line for the first wave only to put him on the second wave with Gomez, another centre and setup man?

    Makes no sense.

I’m liking the Bourque for Cammy trade less and less.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

  47. MannyR says:

This is as bad as the 3-0 loss to Washington.
Sunday games in Montreal need to be banned by the Catholic church.

  48. Propwash says:

I’d say maybe 80-85% of goals scored on Price is due to a screen/deflection. If he sees it, he will most likely stop it.

  50. blu_blanc_rouge says:

Clueless?? You have been clueless for the past 18 yrs supporting mediocre hockey….you probably believe finishing 8th is a succsessful season…

  51. habs001 says:

the ice may be poor but our passes jump over our sticks but the devils handle the passes way better…looks like our 8th s/o coming up..pretty sure we will be in double figures by the time the season is over…

  52. novahab says:

I think Cole is playing hurt you can see he is not himself. What this team needs is that special trainer like Ovie and the Leafs have that did so much good for Tiger. Have to smart like NJ just use it during the big games . Don’t be stupid like the Leafs, you can’t use it all the time . If you use it to much like the Leafs and it slows the muscles and you get the reverse results.

  53. EastCoastHab says:

Is this Habs Inside Out or Habs Down and Out??

Big comeback in the third…..3 – 2 Habs!

    You heard it here first!

  54. alfieturcotte says:

FIRE GAUTHIER, FIRE GAUTHIER, FIRE GAUTHIER

Rene Bourque is horrible, soft, and is wasting whatever chance we have a=of getting Pleks going. Put him on the fourth line with Gomez and Darche. Play more AK46, Eller, anyone but Gomez and Bourque…..What a joke of GM and Coach we have!

  55. ooder says:

and people were bashing Timo lol… this is very typical of the habs this season… they get assymptotically closer but the second there is a big game they blow it

  56. longtimehabsfan says:

I’m sick and tired of watching this team this year. I really am. Whenever you think they’ve got it going they put put up a stinker. You think they have become more physical and they play like they’re afraid to take a hit. This is garbage hockey and in your own building. Please, enough with the PG made a good deal for Gill. What’s on the Ice?

    “It’s a moo point. Like a cow’s opinion, it doesn’t matter. It’s moo.”

  57. JF says:

This Devils team is looking exactly like the old Jacques Lemaire-coached Devils teams. Get one goal, keep the opposition to the outside, get another… I hate that team, and I hate Martin Brodeur.

  58. fun police says:

Darche is getting way too much ice time. he works hard, but consistently double shifting him is idiotic. you are playing not to lose. he’s second behind pk for most ice time after 2. ridiculous.

  59. Timo says:

    Scumbags. A total no-show.

  61. JayBee says:

You can predict the outcomes of these kind of games. Anytime the Habs have a chance to really make things interesting they come up with a dud. This is game is going according to plan.

I have no frigging clue why Darche gets so much playing time. Cuneny needs to put a 2nd line together that can score goals.

Game over. Brodeur won’t even need to take a shower after the game.

    • Propwash says:

It’s Jersey however, usually games against these guys winds up like this, and it sucks.

      • JayBee says:

If Brodeur was standing on his head (like he usually does) I’d have no problem. But the team hasn’t even shown up. Fighting for your playoff lines and you come out with this crap? Pathetic. Old ass brodeur’s going to get another shutout in possibly his last game at the Bell Centre? I feel ill.

  62. Mattyleg says:

Lots of people on here who are happy that we’re doing so badly are also the same people who were FREAKING OUT this summer when we didn’t throw the kitchen sink at Dustin Penner.

“He went out of the lineup because he was horseshit,” quoth Kings coach Darryl Sutter, discussing Penner being a healthy scratch for 3 games.

Please, please fill us with more of your wisdom, oh knowledgable ones. Tell me again how many Cups we’ll win by losing this game. Please; your insight is boundless.

  63. novahab says:

Good job by the Habs in the second they started to hit these guys. Only way your going to stop a drug laden team is to hit them. NHL is a digrace ,if there was drug testing no way NJ would skate this way. Still NJ gets all the breaks on the two goals. Anyone that thinks NJ can skate this way with out help. I have a lot of cheap land in Flordia to sell you.

  65. Da Hema says:

That’s the kind of season it has been — late-period goals, third-period collapses. At least no one now will be under any illusions about whether this team deserves to make the playoffs. Montreal is New Jersey’s bitch.

Pleks never goes to the net on that play-he might get hit.
