Yeah? How about in the 2011 draft you pick someone? Choose anyone the habs could draft. Then in 3 or 4 years we’ll see whether you were right or whether you busted. That’s the draft – picking between those who have hot streaks and those who will develop into stars. Not everyone is Crosby

  2. Chorske says:

James is going to say, it’s an injury, stupid, and go back to his beer. Which is what we should all be doing too. ;)

  3. avatar_58 says:

Oh whatever, what about all the teams that could have had Subban? How about the ones ahead of us who could have had Price right now? Plekanecs?

We aren’t the only ones who have duds

  4. punkster says:

Personally, I’ll await the JD Injury Report Retort (JDIRR ™) before climbing any walls.

  5. Chorske says:

If by “definitive” you mean “purely speculative”, then yeah.

There is absolutely no way you can make that level of diagnosis until the swelling has died down, and this report was put out before that. Marky is being checked over by the same guy who did his surgery– in Ohio. No report has been forthcoming, because they are still deciding whether surgery is necessary, which again requires tests and time and so on. So unless Markov’s been texting his condition to Marinaro (OMG doesn’t Marinaro WISH), this report is guesswork.

It’s easy to say this kind of thing. We all saw him go down, we all saw his frustration. By now, he knows what a ligament popping feels / sounds like, and clearly, he didn’t like what he felt. So I think this report is probably right- but I don’t believe for one second that these guys had any privileged info.

  6. TB says:

was hoping with Philly playing last night they would be really tired especially their “D” unfortunately only 1 forward played more than 20 min last night and no defenseman played over 20min – looks like the bench was well managed

  7. DearyLeary says:

I’m sure you don’t understand the first thing about the entry draft.

  8. temekuhabs says:

    I think Lecavalier myself

  9. SeriousFan09 says:

Subban with 1 more goal and 2 more assists than 2nd overall pick from 2007 James Van Riemsdyk by PHI and hasn’t had his butt in the press box this season.

    I’m just saying…

    - I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  10. Ian Cobb says:

The meatheads in Philly management, just keep bringing in the meatheads Eric.

  11. Exit716 says:

In the salary cap world, teams can’t afford to have their head scout draft some Minnesota “project” that doesn’t even warrant a contract offer at the end of his college career.

    Terrible selection.

  12. SeriousFan09 says:

Only once below the 70-point mark since 2003, the engine that fueled the best seasons of Lecavalier is now the constant companion of scoring sensation Steve Stamkos ATM, I’d give the title to him as well.

Anthony.!! You are watching the NFL my son, this is hockey! You know, speed ,talent and intelligence. Muscle between the ears only keeps them apart.

  14. fuhgawz says:

MAB — when or if he starts playing hands down.

  15. twocents says:

Every year someone asks, “Have the Flyers finally found their goalie?”

They’ll find one when they actually decide to use a decent pick on one, and/or spend some cash on one. So long as the organization shows so little value in the position, they will get little value out of it.

  16. Kristopher7 says:

Giroux was born in Hearst, Ontario. Maybe St-Louis can be the best Quebec-born player?

  17. Ian Cobb says:

    At a boy! TIMO.

    Mommy are we there yet.???

  18. Hockey Socks says:

Love the forwards, but Spacek-Picard could be a disaster.

  19. twocents says:

    How concisely done, Earl.

    Like bloody poetry.

  20. Mr.Hazard says:

Isn’t St. Louis the best French-speaking player in the league?

  21. Kristopher7 says:

So the entire season? Imagine that it’s true? Would make contract talks tense :x

  22. Hockey Socks says:

    Haha, bitter much?

  23. Timo says:

So Bob McKenzie is a fan of Campbell… it was not obvious at all from the article. <eyeroll>

  24. mrhabby says:

A nasty ugly game could be in the offering tonight. Look for the usual Flyers heavy forecheck and the odd cheap shot. Could care less about the shots but the forecheck on a suspect defence spells a little trouble me thinks. Watch Flyers try to ambush PK. Could be a close game if we stay out of the box.

Hate the Flyers more than the laffs. As Ian Cobb said the Flyers stand alone.

  25. larisalapointe says:

Computer guys…help. I can’t post a comment here anymore without disabling rich-text. Any suggestions?

  26. CrashTheNetCrashTheNet says:

Are we talking about Chris Douchebag?

    LOL

fresh out the box from CKAC: most difinitive report so far:

Markov (knee) will require surgery as a result of the injury sustained Saturday and will miss an extended period of time, reports Sportsnet.ca, which cites a report from Montreal’s Team 990. The team has so far remained quiet on the injury.  The report said Markov has a partial tear to the ACL graft that was inserted during his last surgery as well as associated bone contusions and a large radial tear to the lateral meniscus. The minimum recovery for an ACL reconstruction is four months but athletes are rarely at peak condition in that span; six to nine months is more typical for full mobility and confidence. And given this is his second surgery on the same knee, we think all bets are off in terms of recovery time — we can’t help but think it’ll be more than the typical.

  28. AH says:

No. but I wouldn’t want to tangle with him, he’s 6’5″ and about 250..no wonder he cheers for those thugs!

  29. Kristopher7 says:

Wow, check out Subban rocking the Nike sportswear ads on TSN.

  30. Timo says:

So does he brawl on the course?

  31. Exit716 says:

I’m sure David Fischer will do just fine against Giroux tonight.

  32. Timo says:

I don’t see why not if we skate and not afraid to go to the net. But if we do pretty passing diply doodling BS and shoot from 30 feet out then no.

  33. punkster says:

I’m copying this and pasting it in an email to myself for future reference. Not once is there a mention of an official annoiuncement or doctor’s report. Please don’t fall prey to media speculation and panic.

  34. Timo says:

This year will be the year. I decided I am sick and tired of waiting so they are winning the cup in the 2010-2011 season.

  35. GrimJim says:

Just to make sure I understand this correctly, this is a report from CKAC, which gets its info from Sportsnet, which gets its info from Team 990 (which, if its the Marinaro report, gets it from unnamed reliable sources)? And this is the most definitive report so far…

What would you be if you were attached to another object by an incline-plan wrapped helically around an axis?

  36. rogus says:

O’Byrne should be available by mid December…

  37. Ian Cobb says:

Think we can take these big goofs Timo?

  38. AH says:

I have a golfing buddy who’s a Flyers fan, that would be sooo sweet!

  39. avatar_58 says:

The year the habs beat the flyers in the playoffs is the year they go all the way. Mark my words

  40. habs001 says:

this is where markov will really be missed…i hope i am wrong but if the first wave does not score the second wave looks like a short handed goal can happen anytime…also it would be nice we win the draw at the start of the pp as we usually lose 30 seconds of pp as we seem to lose the draw regularly…

  41. ebk says:

I think most everyone would agree that over the years the two the two teams who most closey resemble what people would consider a team built for the Playoffs are the Bruins and the Flyers.

Can anyone tell me how many Stanley Cups in the last 30 years these two have won?

  42. Chorske says:

But see, that last sentence gives it away. You want an enforcer. Oh, and one who can score! And skate! One whose glare turns opponents into meek sheep! One whose drool cures his teammates impotence! Getting carried away here, but the point is that standing in front of the net is basic stuff, Pouliot and Gomez can both do it, and lo and behold, some of their recent success comes from being in close. I don’t think we need an untested newcomer when we have existing people who find success when they plant themselves in front of the net. I think Stewart would look competely lost out there, and I have no idea where people get this notion that he would be a game changer for the Habs.

  43. Robert L says:

It was temporarily buggered, but I’ve fixed the issue. Ian was getting Viagra links, which I’m sure he appreciated….

  44. Timo says:

The test of the season is playing Philly in a 7 game series. One game can always go either way. I look forward to a rematch in the spring and showing the Flyers a way to the golf course.

  45. Timo says:

    Ian, you’re a lover, not a hater.
