I think you might be misunderstanding the term “money.” That, in reference to goalies, means a guy who can come up with the big saves to steal a playoff game, or even a series and it means someone the team knows will carry them to victory even if they’re not having their best night. I have yet to see Carey Price do either of those things when it matters. If he’s starting tonight he’d better start being “money” because the Habs have a lot to lose if he doesn’t.
Good call by JM. Price is a money goaltender. Once he gets his swagger back, he could carry the Habs through the post season. What better motivation does he need than to prove all his critics wrong.
I remember the ’86 playoffs- Fraser called a penalty on the Nordiques as the puck was sliding into the Habs’ net. I’m not sure if it was the 2nd or 3rd game, but that call changed things big time in that series. Mind you, it seems like he’s been trying to make up for that call for the next 24 seasons.
My oldest was a defeseman for three years, and I was always trying to teach her when and not to pinch. One goal in three seasons. She was always too worried someone would get past her, so she played super cautious. I thought that putting her in ball hockey for a summer might strengthen her legs, improve the backwards skating. That same summer, she grew about six inches, and when the real hockey started, she was the fastest girl on her team. A smart coach decided she was better at center. She’s never played there before but totally blossomed, to the tune of 29 goals.
Best thing about the girl’s hockey, is that they leave the game on the ice, soon as it’s done.
BTW, a little story for you. Back when you won the 20,000th goal contest, Dave and I had been e-mailing each other. He was quite excited that you had won and had never been to a game in Montreal. I suggested to him that maybe it would be cool if you could have your pic taken with Mike. Dave said right away that it was already in the works, but to keep under my hat just in case something happened. I was following the story and I was very pleased to see that it all worked out.
I don’t really dislike Kerry Fraser because of the supposed anti-Habs thing, the funny thing is Leaf fans think he’s anti-Leafs. No, the reason I dislike Fraser so much is his ego, he makes every game he refs all about him and not about the game, he’s a vain ego-driven prima donna.
Bye Kerry. Have a nice retirement looking at yourself in the mirror every day.
Chris Lee has that wicked expression whenever he calls a penalty against us. I want to throw-up each time I saw it. On the other hand, it helps me to lose weight.
Excellent image, Tommy. Did you get that from “The Chris Lee Story” on Biography? “Young Chris grew up dreaming of a blue and white Stanley Cup, in which the colours could actually be distinguished on television. Sadly, it was not to be, and the boy spent every spring of his youth crying as his team realized futility yet again. Determined to make a difference, Lee turned his attention to officiating. One, day, he thought…I’ll be somebody!”
I’ve always found the Kerry Fraser hate amusing. Personally, I always liked him, Denis Morel and Andy van Hellemond as a referee for Habs games when I was growing up. On the other hand, Don Koharski and Terry Gregson were the referees that I dreaded, as they ALWAYS seemed to be the refs for the Habs losses.
More interesting, Fraser is routinely ranked by the players as one of the best officials in the NHL. I think this year’s player’s poll saw him come out on top. He is a polarizing figure though…players either love him (he is often cited as being a ref that lets the players play the game and knows how to take the pulse of things and know when to back off a bit) or loathe him (especially Toronto players, who can’t let the Wayne Gretzky high-stick go).
you’re not allowed to have team logos on the equipment itself.
look at fleury, luongo, niemi, and so many others wearing all whites. no correlation with them leaving their teams anytime soon. it is apparently just a visual trick to make them look bigger.
In case we’re not nervous enough about
tonight’s game, RDS reminds us that the Hurricanes are 7-0-2 in their
last nine games at the Bell Centre.
This is hard for me to believe, so I took a look back, & don’t like what I saw. Since the beginning of the 2005-06 season, the Canes have played 12 games in Montreal, & have not lost in regulation.
The good news is that the Canadiens have picked up 5 of 6 points in the Canes last 3 visits to Montreal:
Oct 28, 2008…….Montreal won 3-2 in a shootout
Dec 21, 2008……Carolina won 3-2 in overtime
Nov 17, 2009……Montreal won 3-2 in a shootout
Come on Habs! Break that streak tonight, & win in regulation.
Anyone notice how price’s new pads have no color affliations to the habs? I thought he was supposed to have a habs sign on them somewhere. Is he getting prepared to leave in the summer? I hope he plays well tonight, and I HOPE the team plays as hard in front of him as they do for Halak.
Robert, I have a 10 year old girl that plays hockey. She’s just decided this year that she’s going to be more “Markov” and try to be a little bit more of an offensive defenceman. ;o) I absolutley *love* girls hockey.
……….. “Thank you Cammy for making my day even more amazing!” I STILL BELIEVE. I WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE.
Good old Kerry…How many times did I shudder when I learned he was ding the game!
5 on5 we need to play even. PK and PP we need to be better than the other team. No secrets here.
The PK seems okay with lots of options.
The PP…not so much.
Why not Pleks or Gomez on the right point? Both can shoot if the opportunity presents itself or quarterback giving Markov the opportunity to cheat down the lane. Markov looks for Cammy’s one timer on the other side.
Bergeron needs to shoot more…not wait for the perfectly open lane. The shot might not get through and there is a risk of a breakout but it might cause a breakdown of their PK with a broken stick or “injured” player.
We made need Subban in that spot before the regular season is over.
“If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” (anon)
Anyone remember Kerry waiving off a goal scored by the Nords in a critical game? The game was in Montreal, Habs eventually won on a Ryan Walter goal. A TSN camera showed that a Nordique had skated through the crease and interfered with the Hayward.
Funny that Hayward was starting over Patrick one year after 1986. 33 still needed some seasoning back then.
Habs are apparently dead last in the league for 5 on 5 scoring. Ouch.
Quite simply, if they come out flat and don’t play 60 minutes in this game and the rest of them, they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Losing is one thing but I want to see them compete at least.
I know they are all must win games but tonight is a must win…If the Habs leave their destiny in the hands of our arch rival the Laffs shame on this team…
The playoffs have been handed to us…Up until last night the Broons, Rags and Thrashers have all been saying they want to golf during the post-season…Just have to grab it…
Habs need to grab this one tonight….
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
I’m from Cornwall, where DG played with the Royals on two Mem Cups. He was the killer even back then. Ponder this, a 55 game point scoring streak. Even the buds jersey couldn’t make me hate him either. Him and Hawerchuk have a place in my hockey heart for eternity.
Not really….she’s all of 11 and has never scored a goal. She’s a total newbie in hockey. Now the 15 year old, let me tell you about attitude on and off the ice! She’s headed for Midget next season, one foot shorter than most players, and not an ounce of fear. She loves to stir it. A few years ago I was telling who Gilmour was, and she went off for her first team practice, came back with number 93. Now if he hadn’t been a Hab…
Call me crazy, but not so many years ago I actually believed Kerry Fraser was a Hab fan. I always felt he called a good game back then and I am sure that today he is still one of the most fair referees in the league. In a game as important to the Habs as tonight’s game, I agree with with Boone. Who would you rather have? Give me a seasoned vet in stripes, like Fraser, anyday. It’s way better than some punkass ref who grew up with leaf pajamas and Darryl Sittler’s poster on his bedroom wall.
Easier to converse in a group of three. I had fun too, but getting only 90 minutes sleep caught up to me on Sunday. Totally unexpected, my daughter’s team came back from 3-1 to win the semi. I was burned out and in Kanata till three in the aft. My eyes looked like piss holes in the snow.
I have a friend who has two tickets (Club Level 218, row C) for the Maple Leafs and Canadiens game on Saturday April 10. Tickets are face value $187 plus taxes, and he is asking $400 for the pair.
If you are interested in these tickets and can make payment arrangements within 24 hours, click on my contact tab and e-mail me and I will put the two of you in touch.
It was a great time for me to be a hockey fan. The Habs had just come off four straight Cups and the Royals won back to back Mems. My locker at SLHS was next to Dale’s for six weeks and I walked home from school with Blake Hull, Brett’s older brother and Bobby’s second son. One gem from the day, Blake says, “I’ll never be much of a player (he was farmed off by Cornwall), but my little brother Brett, he’s 14 and he has my Dad’s shot.” I get shivers still, thinking of when he said that!
Is it just me or is practicly every shot going wide…or are they most of the time deflected?
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante

Would help if they’d throw a few more bodies in front of the net during those lengthy O-zone possessions and try to rattle Ward a hair. He’s not giving up a lot of second chances.
we just cannot score 5-5 …we really only have 4 quality forwards plecks, gion, camm, gomez…the rest of our forwards may go on a streak but are very inconsistent and not reliable in big game situations…it also does not help the poor passing up to the forwards by the d…

Actually 3, but I completely agree with you. It doesn’t matter if the Habs dominate a game or not, the number of goals do. And due to our size, we are not the best at it.
And on top we have a coach that likes to establish a defensive game. That’s why I prefer an offensive minded coach over a defensive one. Especially for our team.
But, hey, hopefully I am incorrect and the Habs prove me wrong.
All I ever read on here about L’Antichambre is complaints about a bunch of over-the-hill or out-of-touch (usually they intermix) loudmouth jerks, so why do people keep watching?
This particular family has done both harm and good to the Canadiens over the years. Molsons aren’t a slam dunk for positive changes in the organization.
Its only a game. If we make the 8 seed everyone on this board will be excited and saying how were going to beat the Caps. Its the Gainey mantra……. were number 8!
Love Al Bundy.
Send check or money order and I will ship you a supply.
I would just like to point out, that if Halak were to let in that second goal people on this forum would be yelling about his terrible rebound control.
other then that, Cam Ward was very good (other then the 3rd period were the habs shot at the net from 0 angle)
price was ok.. but the team did not give him a lot of work to do
——————
“I like what I’m seeing right now,” assessed Markov. “We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to be.”
We have a better chance in winning with Halak in nets. Just that Halak has lost 3 out of 4…
Of course, Price’s win % in his last few games isn’t great either but what are u doing comparing a #1 (proven) to a backup (unproven)… OWNED. thanks and good night.
I have said it before and I will say it again, this team is not the same without Sergei Kostitsyn. He is the spark, he is an incredible playmaker, and he scores crucial goals.
As I predicted the rise of Jaro Halak after his very first game as a hab, so too do I predict this guy will be a star. When he went down, the whole team went to ***”
When was the last time the team actually scored more than 1 or 2 goals in front of him. Doesn’t Price have a pretty solid shot, maybe he can play the point on the PP.
There’s no excuse for allowing Staal to be all alone on that second goal. Lazy play by both the forwards and the D. Habs must be gripping their sticks too tight.
Ward played exceptionally well in the 3rd but we really didn’t test him that much. Rather, we shot from impossible angles when nobody was ready for a rebound and did what we did against every other team; looked small and unwilling to battle in front of the net.
We battled in the last minute, but in the end, it would’ve helped us to do it for the other 59.
There were enough chances to score 5 or 6 goals, and I think it was down to our inability to finish more than the heroics of Cam ward. The habs took 35 shots, and at least 10-15 of those were legit opportunities. Cammalleri’s shooting was horible, I’m beginning to seriously worry that his injury might have lasting effects. I know he’s only played a handful of games since his return but he’s making me nervous all the same. Gomez missed several quality chances as well. We were outworked constantly during the third. For a game that started so well I can hardly believe the result. Had brief glimpse of 08-09, sad to say. Hopefully JM can determine what is needed to get things rolling.

Audere est Facere- To Dare Is To Do
JM is killing the team with bad personnel decisions. The team was better off without MAB. He scored, but gave up three or four good scoring chances in the third. Price is jinxed. His own team scores on him again. If Hamrlik wouldn’t have touched Sutter, Price stops that one. All that being said, the Habs lost the game in the 1st. Too many blown opportunities and no finish.
It doesn’t matter who’s in nets. Habs haven’t scored more than 2 goals
(not counting empty netters) in each of their last 6 games. Need to
score more than 2 a game to win consistently.
Once the regular season is over, all of this years group of Habs will be golfing with almost all of last years Habs: Koivu, Komisarik, Tanguay, Higgins, Kostopolus, Latendresse But who will still be playing Kovalev. This organization has built a solid culture of losing.
Worst third period ever. How can we let a team — that’s not making the playoffs — get 17 shots in the third, ON OUR ICE?!
The Canes came out hot in the third, we did not. I lay blame squarely on the shoulders of JM.
We have pretty much a healthy lineup (save 4th liner Metro, whom JM was sitting anyway), so what is JM’s excuse now?
Price was not to blame for either of the goals, and he came up big. But I think anyone who has watched this season (I mean actually watched the games) cannot deny that there is something to the notion that the team plays better in front of Halak than Price. That’s not a knock against Price, he stood tall tonight; but there may be something in the team psyche or whatever that sees them play harder when Halak is in nets. I do think there is something to be said for consistency — if we have a number 1 goalie, whether his name is Halak or Price, shouldn’t we ride him to the end? Why not start the number 1 guy who is responsible for getting you in a playoff position? Can we put the Halak/Price rotation on hold when it kinda matters?
You guys are all fired up mad all the time. Blame Price, Kill Gainey, hang Trevor Timmons, and did i say Blame Price? You are all angry that we haven t won the cup but your anger is misdirected. Blame Gary (the midget c sucker) Betteman. You people are living in the days of way less teams which equals more skill on each team and obviously greater chance for success. This league is so watered down now that it is impossible to fill a team with all skilled and talented players. You could easily lose six team s in this league and the quality of hockey would improve dramatically.
So if you all would just join together and fight the midget c sucker it would improve the chances of your beloved habs to win the cup ,therefore improving everyones mood, improving this site and i would never have to listen to that broken record Hard Habits talk about tanking again!
Are you serious? We need to stop this Price/Halak nonsense. The team couldnt score on Ward. That was the problem. In order to get points you need to get goals. I dont know if you are aware of this part of the game. You know Shiloh, I gotta say this is a really really STUPID comment. When will you WAKE UP and start asking about our forwards, and asking why they are having chance number 7,298… Really stupid man.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
I want my pound of flesh. We were surely “all in” supporting the Habs this season and we deserve some payback. Come on, we’ve showed them our’s. It’s time for them to show us their’s. Did they merit the support that the fans showed them over the course of this season? Sadly, I think we already know the answer!
It’s not so much that we’ve been a bubble team for most of the past 15 years, it’s that it looks like we’ll remain a bubble team for the next five at least. I think what you saw tonight defines the team. Not saying they can’t or haven’t played better, just saying that, if you took all the games this season and averaged the performance, this is what you’d get. Now look down the road five years and you see most of the keystone players, signed to long term contracts, now five years older and five years less productive. It’s suddenly hard to see a bright future for this team. Cammi has good years ahead, but Gionta and Gomer have their best years behind them, and guys like AKost who should be the next wave don’t look poised to become big league players. No heart, no real head for the game. Seriously thinking about cancelling my RDS subscription next year. This train wreck is just to hard to watch. It’s sad when the most satisfaction you get out of a game is listening to the fans voice the displeasure and frustration you feel as the team leaves the ice. Are they going to make the playoffs this year? From where I’m sitting tonight, who cares?
Shitlo only shows up after a Price loss or a Halak win. When Halak loses, he is nowhere to be seen, probably crying in the corner somewhere like a little girl. It hurts his man/girl crush on Halak.
i think it is finally time to realize that while we have some good players most of the other teams have just as many good players and many have many better ones…
Ian, don’t make excuses for this team. They have more than enough talent for to be 5th at worst in the East. It’s all about effort. And, they have been inconsistent all year in that regard.
Please take the time to learn to read and/or write cogently before you attempt to make a sound argument. Halak is the Number 1 – that boat sailed a long time ago. I question Martin’s judgment tonight, not Price’s play. I don’t understand why we needed to put the backup in. If Halak was ailing, then I get it. Does OWNED mean that you feel that you made a point? How about BALONED – as in you are full of baloney.
Cammy really needs to get going, he and AK are completely one dimensional players, they bring nothing but goals, which is fine; but when completely 1-D players are in slumps and don’t even bring that dimension, then they become completely useless. Even Laps brought a few good hits to the table today. I’m sure a lot of it is rust, but its getting to be crunch time and its obvious this team can’t finnish if Cammy doesn’t, if he can’t get scoring soon then we won’t make the playoffs.
You don’t know that. I’d like to think that most informed fans know that goaltending is not the issue with this team. He likely doesn’t read the papers let alone some message board where anonymous haters rip him.
He’s only 22 years old and will in all likelihood be a star goaltender in the league.
If he rejects the qualifying offer, he’s still an RFA. If he doesn’t sign before Dec 1st, he’s ineligible to play in NHL for rest of the season. I doubt either he or his agent would forfeit a year’s salary.
The only way I can see the Habs losing him is through an offer sheet that they don’t match or they get a ridiculously good trade offer.
Let’s be honest Earle, Martin is about as useless a person to place behind your bench as you could find. The man is totally befuddled most of the time. His in-game adjustments make no sense and, as you pointed out, his goaltender selections are picked out of the air. The amazing thing is that we’re talking about the Montreal Canadiens here!
Habs cannot make the playoffs if they do not score enough goals and support their own goaltenders. This was perhaps the easiest game left in Canadiens’ schedule. If the team does not lift their level, the playoff spot in clearly in jeopardy.
So much for the heralded Dominic Moore effect. Second round pick looking more attractive again for that rental (not that he isn’t solid- just not ‘the difference’).
Price no fault on this one. Choosing to start him in must game win is curious but he was solid.
Bergeron, notwithstanding the goal, nets less than zero for me. Preferred team without him. Why our record is better without Cammalleri and Bergeron playing is not clear to me.
Sad that we miss a 35 year old journeyman on PP, although was south when he was in lineup before injury.
All that post-Olympic energy gone. Limping in – or not in – again. Suspect we’re seeing the last of Pleks in a Habs uni so it’ll get worse before it gets better. Probably need to let ‘er bleed next season and trade Hammer at deadline.
Wonder what Halak will bring in return for trade. The Anointed One ain’t going anywhere. Only other upside in future is PK (and I think he’ll be huge) and whatever else kids can learn from Boucher. Longer term he’ll be here too.
Fairly obvious Cammy’s timing off. Whoever the troublemaking French press guy was that said he was a problem when he got hurt must be preparing another expose.
Goodnight, ladies and gents. I’m afraid we’ll all wake up somber tomorrow.
this team tries but they are just not good enough to win regularly but if they get a few breaks they can win 4-5 games in a row,,,i dont think their over all play on the ice has been that much different when they had the winning streak or now…all year most of the games could have gone either way and if this is the type of talent you have in the long run your record will be around 500
What is sad is your blind love for Halak. He hasn’t been great in the last few games. We need him rested. We need him focused. If he found a way to win, there will be no need for Price to play but right now, we are winning with Halak about the same as we are winning with Price.
The team should try and win in front of any goalie they have, the Hawks don’t have anything resembling a No. 1 goalie and they still try to win. If those gutless punks don’t want to try and win for Price, that’s their goddamn problem, screw them.
HH, your Price hate is getting into troll territory. I liked you better when you were constantly talking about tanking, as opposed to constantly blaming our goalie for the team not scoring on the other goalie.
What a sad little boy you are. Between Price losses and Halak wins, that puts me here about 80% of the time. I don’t post as much any more because the sickening lack of hockey sense on the part of Carey’s Love-Squadron is too childish to bear.
we have very limited offensive talent…we are tied for 21st in scoring…the sad news is that the core forwards are at their peak and there are very few forwards that will get better…..
Boone? Were you watching the game? He left Staal all alone and hung Price out to dry. Of course he was benched. I love the guy, he’s had a solid year, but ya can’t do that in a 1-1 game.
The Habs definitely made it easy for him in the third period by only trying for the last 30 seconds. That PP made me sick. Cammy hustled but timing isn’t 100% yet. MAB should be told to stop pretending he’s Shea Weber and realize he’s a one-trick pony. His giveaways came at terrible times.
The inexperienced Canes D definitely helped Ward more than our D helped Price. Ward made some nice initial saves but rarely had to worry about any rebounds because his D were there first. Hamrlik basically scored on Price with that ineffective dive and everyone but Price was asleep on Staal’s goal. Why the hell was he all alone in front of Price?
You know, I dont know the DEFENITION of a #1 goalie. But he usually plays the most games…. So using you BACKUP and NUMBER 1 Goalie terms dont make any more sense when your post is stupid. So you so dead set on MAKING SURE everyone knows Halak is number 1. Yet he hasnt played as many games as Price this season… Doesnt a number 1 play more games?????????????
THERE IS NO NUMBER 1. It doesnt matter how many times you try to jame it down everyone’s throat. By the way, once Halak is traded, you better follow him to become a fan with the next team. Because your clearly a Halak Fan first and a Habs enthusiast second.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
bees with no sting , they cant score and at times make opposing goalies look great. Ward was good but man did we help him out . We just cannot score . except when at times we put it in our own net.T, his is not a gold tending issue it is about no offence , we cant put anyone away.
Bologna is indeed an alternate spelling of baloney and a city in Northern Italy very close to where my people came from. When the word is used as a synonym for ‘nonsense’ as opposed to ‘lunch meat’, you spell it ‘baloney’. And that’s not phony baloney either.
Hey I got a great idea…..The GM should fire the coach and then coach for the remainder of the season to get a REAL GOOD LOOK at whats going on in the room….Oh yeah they tried that trick last year….damm it. Seriously though something really needs to change soon because this is pathetic. Call up PK because he was the best player on the ice against the flyers….Oh and add some muscle if we have any because the Flyers are not going to take the next game lightly…..
I’m a huge Price fan, but, WOW, why can this team not score for him. He played solid (again) and the team did nothing for him (again). I am really beginning to beleive some of the posters who say the guys simply play beter for Halak. I think you have to start riding Halak until its over…
But a MUST-WIN? No, not at all. In fact, we can STILL lose 2 points to Atlanta and beat them in the tie-breaker.
We got a pretty nasty schedule ahead of us — I don’t care what pundits say, we know all these teams (PHI, BUF, NYI, CAR, TOR) get in our ass real bad — but it’s still up to us. Five games to see if this teams’ good enough for a run.
“the other goalie” was meant for the opposition goalie and not Halak.
When a goalie outplays the opposition goalie, the chances are stacked for the better playing goalie to win the game (of course there are exceptions, but odds are odds)
THERE IS NO NUMBER ONE!!!!! TOTO, WE”RE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE!!!!
I know how traumatic it has been for all you Carey-apologists but it really is true. Halak has outplayed him significantly. He has won the job. He beat St. Carey. I know that hurts but you will begin to heal by accepting it. Now, I don’t deny that Jaro had some help. Price really, really sucked at times this year and last. That gave him the opening – and Jaro took the job. Accept it Little Joey.
The thing the Habs need is to play more golf in the off-season. Forget special teams or goaltending. If they can get those little white balls into that little hole they should be able to start scoring pucks in the net.
This team’s a real fixer-upper. It’s hard to know where to start, but then again, it doesn’t matter much where you start. Goaltending suspect on any given night, and no reliable veteran to take heat from the young rising star. Defence is old and/or slow. Top six forwards are okay, but not notably better than pretty much any other team in the league. Very little immediate help in the offing. Depressing.
Rebound? The puck bounced about 5 inches off his pad on a screened shot. That’s going to result in a bounce every single time. The responsibility there was on the defense for leaving the only skater on Carolina who can actually score all alone.
BTW- The Penguins got shut out by the lowly Tampa Bay team; which again proves the point that on any given night in this league, anybody can beat anybody.
Name me one team that successfully plays golf while other teams are still successfully playing hockey that has won the Stanley Cup.
How many of you think I think tanking is all that is needed to build a contender? Come on all you simpletons, please raise your hands. So I use the imagery of the tank and use the word. That’s for shock value and to drive the point of my real argument home. It’s far more complicated than just tanking but the 1st inevitable step yes is to sit back and NOT try and make the playoffs every year but to stock up on talent. The Habs need to go expansion, but that’ll never happen, and the Habs wont get to hockey’s holy grail via the back-door 8th seed either with a coach who has a losing playoff record.
I’d rather the hope of a real team, built from the front back in 5 years than 5 years of maybe making the playoffs and getting decimated in them once in them on those by the teeth few occasions.
This team isn’t that bad, but they need an extra few additions, and adding more marquis rookies is part of that equation.
Bring up Subban. He dominated the AHL. He’s already 10X better defensively than MAB, faster and has a similar shot. Plus he shoots right. This team needs his offensive instincts.
Gimme a break. You’ve been asking me to the dance for weeks and following me around like a puppy and I just keep telling you to go away and now you’re trying to make it sound like I am into you.
We have 2nd line, 3rd line and a 4th line players on our roster. But we do not have one player on the roster that can play on a 1st line in this league. Somehow we have to acquire 3 first line players this summer or over the next couple of years.
The same is true with the defence, we have only one player that can play top 4 defence on our roster. We need to acquire at least 2 more.
I don’t know where we can get top quality guys from. But if we are going to compete for the cup one day, we need much better players than what we have at present.
After saying this, it is important to note that this group is a first big step over the floaters of last year. And they have for the most part been very entertaining to watch this year. I just wonder how many more years before we will be able to fill the 1st line with top players and get at least 2 top defence men.
I am not jumping ship on my team, but it is what it is. And I will be with them every game as we develop a winner over the next couple of years.
I really thought that they might surprise and make a little noise in the playoffs this year, but when it is a must win situation and you can only score one goal way back in the 1st period and that one was at the end of a 5 on 3.
Not much more to say except we are just not a good enough team yet, but we will get there!
Proof is in the pudding as the old folks say.Just check a few posts and see just who is following who. Seems like every night i read your posts my name is in it. I had a crush once too but it was a female and it was in real life.
I vote for the first two. I think coaches get too much credit for winning and take too much heat for losing, this isn’t football. Every player on the Habs knew this was an important game. To come out like that in the third is just BS.
That really was a terrible play by Hamrlik though.
Sorry Ian, but, as one old guy to another, I think the Habs management has lost the road map that would lead them from where they are now to where they need to go to compete for the cup.
This team has to use PM’s phrase: no net presence. Their idea of setting up a scoring chance is to move the puck to someone “behind” the offensive zone net.
thanks for the translation. yes he seems to be the most snake- bit goalie in the NHL ( re wacky bounce off boards througn the crease which also almost went in). plays great and still loses.
The Habs are just NOT able to score 5-on-5. It is a horrible problem that has plagued this team for years. Last night the same trend continued and as a result the Habs made Ward look amazing. Don’t get me wrong, because Ward WAS amazing, but I just think that the Habs anemic offense tends to make goaltenders look even better than they are.
If Habs do sneak into the playoffs, does ANYBODY like their chances in 1st round? If they play Washington,Ovechkin will probably score 20 goals in a four game Caps sweep.
I agree with you 100% when it comes to the language thing, I just fear that it’s an issue that’ll never go away and will continue to hamper the Habs in both the coaching and management departments.
I’m not sure you can model the team after the Red Wings either because there’s no organization that even comes close to them in terms of consistency. There isn’t a single other team out there who has three bona fide superstars picked outside of the first round (ie. Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg). The Habs need a superstar or two to build around and the only way to ensure getting one is to draft one. Given the Habs recent draft history, I have little faith that Gauthier is going to turn out to be the next Ken Holland
Dave, as crazy as it is, you know it is all going to come down to that game. Neither the Habs, nor the Leafs are in a position to play each other for the Cup like the good old days, so they have become mutual spoilers. That last game of the season will matter. There is no way around it. The more I think about it, I think it is a good thing. If the Habs want to get to the POs, the road goes through Toronto. As bad as the Leafs have been this year, they can deny the Habs entry. It’s all about character. And, that is something that has been lacking in all sports!
I didn’t know the Habs official name was the Montreal Sharkwannabes. Way to choke, with only 5 games left now. “We have one game left, and that’s with Carolina”, said Gomez. Yeah, right, big boy.
this was f’in embarrassing, i am so pissed off right now… Jm needs to be shown the door and this team needs a wake up call, how can they go from being so good a few weeks ago to this shit? Seriously Carey was among the select few to show up tonight, i feel bad for him being so snakebit..arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Well, that’s another Carey game for you. He plays a solid game and the players infront of him screw up. Just because of Hammer’s tip-in (is he this years O’B?), we lost this game. After that goal, the momentum totally shifted to Carolina’s side. Then Staal’s goal….ahhh god!
Why is that whenever Carey plays good, the team plays crap? and he ends up losing? for example the games against Nashville, Buffalo and today! The kid’s bad luck just doesn’t seem to go away. No matter how strong he is mentally, physically, he’s done man! This was probably the last time we are going to see him play (Jaro is gonna rock the next 5 games and Carey is probably leaving Montreal after the post season). He has probably had the worst bad luck ever! I don’t know about you guys but man, Carey is an excellent goaltender and it’s sad to see him lose when he plays solid.
Hopefully his luck will change and he will start winning some valuable games where the team infront of him PLAYS for him. Great 1st peroid, ok second and horrible third! A typical Canadiens game. This was a crucial game and they didn’t show up. BS third period!
Hockey is all about talent and luck. Carey has the talent, the other one will follow soon.
I think it was Marty St.Louis who said last week that if you aren’t going to make the playoffs you might as well sink to the bottom so that you can get better. Given those sage words of advice, I’d rather be an Oilers fan right now. At least they’ll get Seguin or Hall this June. The Habs will once again be stuck in the worst possible position, either 9th or 10th. They’ll get a crappy draft pick and continue the cycle of mediocrity. This loss was even worse for me then the Buffalo loss for some reason
I actually think he is right. If Price becomes a great goaltender, it will not be wearing the jersey of the Montreal Canadiens. There is way too much water over the damn for him to ever consider resigning with this team when his indentured servitude is up. They brought him up way too fast and expected way too much. He’s gone. Get over it!
Almost like it’s scripted. And wouldn’t it be fun if that game turned out to be an old style barn burner? Win or lose it could be the highlight of the season.
that stat is slightly misleading considering the injuries to basically everyone of the Habs top 6 besides Pleks. Not to mention Markov who’s the only D-man who seems to have any offensive ability.
Ha ha ha everyone’s entitled to their opinion. They can rip mine if they want to it doesn’t matter to me. I guess I’m just sick and tired of the constant 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th place finishes since they traded Roy in 1995. You can’t win the Cup in this league without star players (I’m talking about real star players, not 25-30 goal scorers that we as fans glorify) and beyond Subban if they don’t screw him up they don’t have any coming.
Steve, not ready to eat my gun yet my friend. Don’t forget which family owns the team now! Never lose hope, because then there is no tomorrow. Mr. sun has been getting out of bed an awful long time!
What a joke of a third period. Ward was ridiculous with that kick save at the end. I know MAB can shoot the puck but someone’s got to tell him to stop trying to dangle around people in front of his own net. Terrible, terrible third period.

Name me a team other than the Penguins who have successfully tanked to a Stanley Cup please. And the way the Penguins are playing, they’re not exacty looking at a repeat.
I actually want the Habs season to come down to that game. I want the whole damn season to come down to playing the Leafs at the Bell Center with a playoff spot on the line. It’s time for these Bozos to antie up. Show us all whether you are worth our support. It’s not like we expect Cups anymore — for the rational amongst us those dreams died long ago — but will you exert an effort that merits our rooting for you?
If our Habs fall into the playoffs perhabs they will be loose enough to win some games. At this point after tonights game I expect nothing. Go ahead surprise us, find some puck luck find something.
Oh well Gomez must be finished for the season as this was the “one game left?” Gomez played pretty good set up the Habs (offensive) ”single goal”. Where is our All Star Markov? Who built this team? They have been playing crappy at home.
Difference is anus that Price DID make the key save but there was noone to clear the puck. Ward made the save and no Habs was there for the rebound… you should really sue the guy who’s sold you your glasses. YOU GOT OWNED!
Great idea, Jacques, to start our backup goalie. Before you Neanderthal Price-lovers bombard me with negativity, I don’t blame him for the loss. I just think any team has a better shot with their Number 1 goalie in the net – maybe the team will play with a little more jump, maybe your top goalie will steal a game or even a point. But noooooooo. Let’s give our Saviour chance number 7,298.
Carolina was brutal before they won the cup. You can’t do a Pittsburgh type rebuild because they got lucky with two generational players two years in a row. You’re right that it is a giant risk to tank and be bad because what if you miss on a couple of those picks right? (ie. Florida, Columbus, Atlanta, etc) but it’s a risk, at least for me personally, that you have to take. Constantly doing what the Habs do is like the way JM coaches: not to lose instead of trying to win
They can model after the Red Wings, a competitive team for about two decades now because of great scouting and top coaching. You don’t need to suck to victory, just spend the dollars where it counts in scouting, player development and for a really ****ing crazy thought, ignore the language issue about who your damn coach is.
idiot, next time you want to make a joke when it comes to someone’s handle, think first. Canus was the name of my dog of 16 years, whom died last year. (expletive deleted)
…definitely this third was a stinking let-down considering the importance of the game …but it is double disapointing to Me because this is NOT typical of this season’s Montreal Canadiens
…this has been up to now a season of third period come-backs and at least great effort
Before the game you were trying to have the holier than thou attitude, pretending that there isn’t a debate between Price and Halak and that that fire has been quelled.
Flyers wouldn’t know goaltending if it crapped on them, they haven’t had a real goalie since the lockout and they likely won’t anytime soon unless we’re stupid enough to give them one of ours.
These sadsack bunch of losers booked their tee times back in December. These last few games really are nothing but a formality. Who was the guy that signed all these “stars” and that “head coach” again?
i hate when gill thinks he’s a goalie… those sliding “saves” screw up the tender more than they help
those low % chances become higher % chances because of deflections as well as the goalie having to change his plan mid-way through because he’s not expecting that crap
i hate it when my d do that to me, and it seems to be gill’s MO
Martin still thinks he has two number ones and is still basically playing whoever wins (and sitting whoever looses). If Halak had earned the number one, then he would have started tonight with the backup maybe getting one of the back to back games Friday and Saturday. Martin has not designated a number one (or backup) and with only 6 games left he is not likely to do so this season.
at least our pk is looking solid..(i made sure to enter this when the penalty was finished..)
Edit: aw man…
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante
This rebound control exscuse is BS..i mean yes sometimes goalies need to control their rebounds more…But really what do you want him to do? this shot was clearly a shot for the rebound.
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante
Why Price is in nets is beyond me. We need to win games, not lose. There’s his softie for the night. Usually, there’s two. So, I guess it’s a matter of time. Not to worry, I know you Price fanatics will come out and blast me. But, really, think about it, Halak wins us games, Price doesn’t. Look at the record. It’s actually that simple. I think it’s time you Price fanatics start realizing what I am saying is just true. Simple and plain. The guy just isn’t a money goalkeeper. He just isn’t.
I know, I know, there’s always an excuse for the goals he lets in. A deflection, kick, screen. But, do you guys actually make the same excuse when Halak lets one go in, and that rare to red light Price.
People who complain about Halak’s rebound control talk about when he kicks harmless shots into the slot, not when a shot into the pads bounces 5 inches away. Dumb comment.
I’m not here to start shit, but, like yourself, I have an opinion. But, you can be guaranteed, I wouldn’t reply to someone, with, “go away”. Haha, when you have an argument with someone in person, do you actually say that.
Hey canus you every play goal or hockey how was price supposed to stop stall but let me guess if halak was in net he would get it cause he is like superman is he. Maybe you get some glasses and watch the game, and not the way Kerry Faser does!
I havent been on this site a lot lately.A little too schoolyard for my liking. One question..is Andre K. the worst, laziest, wimpiest player in the entire league,or is it just me ?
nice save…not buying it..you clearly meant from price..then saw that other people were posting that it wasn’t his fault
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante
Well that article is complete BS. It says Pouliot has 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 10 games. He has 2 goals and 4 assists in that time. 4 goals and 5 assists since the Olympics. Utter BS. Not to mention the whole “Price hasn’t won in a month” line that parrots Pat Hickey is a BS line, considering in that time since his last win he’s played 2 full games.
WOW, that’s unfairly harsh. TSN’s front-page article is a close-up of Carey wearing his mask, and it says “IMPROVEMENT NEEDED”. You think they’d ever say that about Gustavsson?
I can’t help but notice that they mention “hasn’t won in nearly a month”, several hours after the same line was posted on HI/O. STEALING IDEAS GUYS?
Still, it’s a strange decision after a 3-day break and wavering only two points above playoff elimination. I thought it had been decided beyond all dispute that Jaro was our man down the stretch.
That being said, I have this message for Carey: be on your toes when MAB is on the ice because you are guaranteed to be facing an odd-man rush.
And even if Carey falters, I want to see this team fill the Canes net. We need all our shooters firing bulls-eyes from here til May.
I believe the author goes on to say that “in his last start, Price only saved 40 of 42 shots and wasn’t able to stand on his head in the dying minutes to preserve his shutout against a pesky division-leading Buffalo squad. Clearly, there is much to be improved upon”.
To keep things reasonable… I always look the last 5 or 6 games back.
In the last 5 games, Halak has started 4 games, won 1 in regulation, lost 1 in OT, 2 in regulation.
In the last 5 games, Price has started once, and lost once in OT.
Who would you start with? Ok so some might be calling bullroar on this right now… Fair enough.
Look at it this way, going into the 2005-2006 playoffs, Gerber had far better stats than Cam Ward (GAA 3.68, S% .882)… Given his playoff performance that year, I think it’s safe to agree that anything is possible when it comes to goaltending on any given week.
Two shots for Carolina in the first and one of them was Tom The Bomb barrelling through Price.
SK looked stiff after he was jammed into the boards early on; told my son he looked hurt. Hopefully just a minor pointer and not a reinjury of his ankle.
Guess where the heads of the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers scouting department will be tommorow? Plymouth Whalers (Seguin) Vs Windsor Spitfires (Hall, Fowler) starts tommorow in the OHL.
And the TSN panel prove their stupidity once again by saying Green should win the Norris, based on +/- and worse offensive numbers than the last season. +/- needs to be taken with a grain of salt when your team is +77. And bashing Keith for +/- when he’s playing in front of Huet and Niemi is a joke.
Keith will get the Norris I’m sure of it, Chara got it last year because he played defence in addition to his career-best Offensive numbers, much like Keith has proved he is a true 2-way defencemen this season.
I read the other day that Kirill Kabanov will likely fall from a top 10 pick to the second round after his decision to go back to Russia to finish out the season. Anyone else think the Canadiens should take advantage of that with their first rounder? The kid is a massive talent.
Hmmm, Canadians draft a Russian with their 1st-round pick, I’m sure that won’t cause any controversy around here. If he is available though, I say we grab him, 6’3″ LW with a RH shot is not a bad thing to add to our depth chart.
The only thing I can say is that Price shouldn’t have had to be in the position to have to fall on his face to stab at it with a leg. If he was square, he’d have had a chance, he didn’t give himself that chance.
I’ll still say that the D sh** the bed with the front of the net business
haha, listen to you people. The Habs are absolutely dominating this game, yet, you keep on saying this game sucks, this and that. But, Price is the only one who has failed. You can’t use the excuse anymore with the team let him down. Price just isn’t a money goalkeeper.
FSHurricanes commentators are driving me nuts. They keep talking about the “miracle” play-off series when Carolina came back and beat the Habs… then went on to win the cup. There was no miracle!!
It was quite simple. They poked Koivu’s eye out and we didn’t even get so much as a 2 minute power-play for it. Next game, somebody on Carolina bit their lip as they fell down and Montreal got 4 minutes in the box. That would be demoralizing enough for any team to lose a series. Add a few bounces for Carolina and there ya have it. Now stop reminding me…. ugh.
I love how Price always has to shut the other team out in order for MTL to win. This is ridiculous. You can’t win hockey games scoring 1 goal night after night.
Terrible third. We deserve to lose and will likely end up 8th amd screwed or ninth. Sad display here with season on the line, but can’t say Bruins any better. Only four good teams in East. Quite depressed.
lol, what’s wrong with you Price fanatics. Hey look, I’m a fan of some players too, but, when they have a bad game, I can at least admit it.
The difference between Ward and Price is very simple. Ward is a money goalkeeper. He doesn’t fail under pressure. Price does. Why can’t you actually see this.
You mention Price has stopped more difficult shots than Ward, ummm, sure, great, but, is Ward winning this game. Come on! Open your eyes, take off your blinders.
Look. People. I like Price. I would love to see him succeed with the Habs as he succeeded at the WJC and during the AHL playoffs. But seriously! What’s the excuse now?
I am sick of talking luck. Good goalies find a way. Work hard play after play. 3 shots and 2 pucks in. Mind you he was crashed, but I am sick of Carey’s softness. Pull him and put in Halak before this game is out of reach.
Oh shut up man, that is perhaps the most ridiculous comment I’ve read all day. “Good goalies find a way” please. Hamrlik scored on his own net, there was absolutely nothing Carey could do there
We absolutely have to win this game. If we don’t, we fall to 8th place. But several times this season when we’ve had a chance to move up, we’ve failed to win a crucial game. Against Ottawa in January and again ten days ago, and back-to-back against Philly before the Olympic break. And these are not the same Hurricanes we demolished on December 23. Our moribund powerplay has taken another hit with the loss of Glen Metropolit, the addition of Bergeron has made no difference, Cammalleri has not scored since returning, Pouliot is not scoring much…. We have to come out the way we did against Jersey, but not let up even if they score first or if Fraser calls a non-penalty on us. But I’m very nervous. The possibility of a fateful encounter with the leafs next Saturday night grows ever closer.
Awww Kerry is retiring? I guess he feels that Chris Lee can take over for him.
“Pusie possessed a wickedly wild shot, so inaccurate that he could not hit the province of Quebec if he was standing inside the Montreal Forum.” Dick Beddoes
Got to get people in front of the net. Our D is terrible. Would like to believe we have the talent to do a little damage in the playoffs, but when we can’t beat the Hurricanes, who we play once more. I watch a lot of Caps, Pitt, games, and the speed, passing, positional play is a whole other league from what we have. This is just too depressing.
Kerry Fraser will forever be remembered for taking the stick measurement on Marty McSorley in ’93. If that’s not helping the Habs I don’t know what is!
Man, a few weeks ago I honestly thought things would be different, that the Habs turned a corner. But appears not, same old, same old. Disappointed, really disappointed.
With how bad they’ve been this year, I’d nearly forgotten how much I absolutely hate the Hurricanes. They crash the net on every single possible play, I hate that garbage so much.
We have seen it all year in that when we dont bury our chances our opponents take advantage of it and then we go into a shell. Storm warning!!!! Lets pray we can get to overtime. We all know Ward will say NO!!!!!! I will be happy with a point.
It’s only a partial no-trade. It’s completely gone by the time next deadline rolls around, and he does have to provide a list of teams he’d accept a trade to.
my girlfriend just asked how the team can play so well in one period and so horribly in another. i didn’t really know what to say other than get me more whiskey
Goaltending and special teams should be icing on the cake of a good team’s play not the substance with which a team is built. Expect more of the same mediocrity for years my esteemed HIO colleagues.
if management had any guts.. martin would be fired after this game… and should have been fired 3 months ago… and MAB should go back to being a FA.. and AK should join him
Passing sucks. Kills whatever speed we have. Half the time we pass up the boards to someone who is standing still at the blue line. Coach is clueless and can’t motivate the team. 1:00 minute left and we can’t get out of our zone. Pathetic.
Somebody behind the bench or somewhere should figure out that when we come out too high, we burn out. We’re too tight and too high to make the most of our early efforts. What we need to do is to play at a pace we can sustain for 60 minutes. (Notice the “we’s,” Jack.)
Whether it’s JM’s inability to coach a 3rd-period comeback or they are not willing to play for Price, **** them, they don’t deserve the playoffs with efforts like this.
In order to have won tonight, he’d have to have shut Carolina out. Ok… fair enough, but is that really reasonable for a team expected to head off into the playoffs? Beat Carolina in a 1-0 score? What should people expect against equal strength teams?
Nah! I’m playing on exhibition in order to play the Canes. I try not to alter the roster too much aside from bringing up prospects. The only trades I do in Be a GM mode are to get rid of veterans and bring in picks or prospects.
Apparently none of Montreal’s players are first line players according to Bob Clarke, because they’re too small. Never mind that Plekanec and Gomez are the same height as his top center Mike Richards, and Pouliot is the same size as Carter. What a doofus.
I don’t understand their argument. What makes a 1st line player? Should they be scoring EVERY game, multiple times? Do they have to be able to put up Crosby/Ovechkin type numbers? Seriously fill me in because I don’t get it.
If you can’t score vs a Carolina team that has nothing to play for, how do you think you’ll do against one of the top seeds in the playoffs., which is far from a certainty, I know.
Finishing 10th at this point we would actually have to lose all our remaining games considering how bad the Rangers and Flyers have played.
And Price is shaky? Come on Mike, impart us with your amazing goaltender wisdom in how he could have possibly stopped a sliding Hamrlik from knocking it into the net?
Do me a favor Carey Price….the 3rd period is coming up and we’re in a hunt for a play-off spot(This is it kid!) so don’t fold like a wet napkin and DO YOUR BEST KEN DRYDEN IMITATION AND WIN THIS FU*KIN GAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That said, Gerber blew the first two games of the series vs Montreal (GAA of 6.00 I believe) and lost the starting job to Ward soon afterwards. I believe Gerber may have been fighting a flu bug or something along those lines, but clearly never recouperated.
Quite the town, eh!
I think so.
Jaro has been so-so since the Olympics.
Dumbest comment I’ve ever seen on this website. White isn’t affiliated with the Habs now? So it must just be Blue, _____ and Rouge, right? Troll.
Great Hair !
Unless they changed that rule this season, it’s not true. Price had the CH at the top of his red pads last season – look it up.
I sure remember it. I’ve never understood the Fraser bashing by Habs fans. He gave us that one big time!
And yes, Roy was horribly inconsistent as a youngster. He was particularly dozy when handling long shots.
Perhaps Carey is racist?

A real great move??? Can I have some of what you’re smoking?
haha, hilarious
In case we’re not nervous enough about tonight’s game, RDS reminds us that the Hurricanes are 7-0-2 in their last nine games at the Bell Centre.
you’re not allowed to have team logos on the equipment itself.
look at fleury, luongo, niemi, and so many others wearing all whites. no correlation with them leaving their teams anytime soon. it is apparently just a visual trick to make them look bigger.
I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic…
He’s the one that measured McSorely’s stick in the playoff game that bring the Habs to win the ’93 Cup?

GO HABS GO!!!
If this goes down to the final game vs. the leafs I will have to buy a defibrillator.
I think your key number 1 pretty much takes care of it. Thank’s coach!
Anyone notice how price’s new pads have no color affliations to the habs? I thought he was supposed to have a habs sign on them somewhere. Is he getting prepared to leave in the summer? I hope he plays well tonight, and I HOPE the team plays as hard in front of him as they do for Halak.
Nice - Once again proof that I greatly have underestimated the caliber of posters on this site.
This playoff game tonight is our 2nd game of 7. The Habs started their playoffs with a loss to Jersey Sat. night.
3rd game–Flyers, April 2
4th game–Sabers,April 3
5th game–Islanders, April 6
6th game–Hurricanes, April 8
7th game–Maple Leafs April 10
We will need to win at least 4 games out of 7
Utter shameless promotion, but there’s a live chat on CBC Sports, with yours truly, Thursday afternoon.

Ya! The Habs Rule! now on Twitter!
Bye bye Kerry, you won’t be missed.
We’re gonna miss Kovy big time in the playoffs, His point per game in the playoffs is really needed on this team.
Adventures in The Great White Shark.
Kerry is one of the best. Sad to see him go. The good news is, Billy McCreary is coming back for another year.
Great choices there! Both guys were absolute beasts!
DMAN’s 3 Keys to the Game -
1/ We need to score more goals than the opposition.
2/ We need to play all 60 minutes of the game (and all of any overtime/shootout that may be included) ~ 57 minutes may or may not be enough~
3/ We need to pass the puck to people on our own team instead of people on the other team
These have been the 3 main areas of need over the last 4 or 5 games (excluding florida)
PG needs to hire me after JM is done!
You used to have an AHL team as well, but they were sadly short lived. I had seasons tickets and it just never took off.
Sounds like a blast! Gilmour is one guy I didn’t even mind while he was a Leaf, the guys was just pure hockey!
Lee should consider a career change. He could go work at Speedy Muffler. At Speedy, you’re a Somebody!
We must always think highly of Mr. Fraser for his accurate stick measuring skills.
Will we bring intensity tonight or flop?
HA! Well sorry for keeping you up! Congrats to your daughter and her team, maybe she can set an example for the Habs!
Regulation, OT, SO, I don’t care as long as it’s two.
Maybe too easy… I must say Robert, I had MUCH more fun talking with you and westcoasthabfan over at your website the other night!
there was no indication in which net
Are you thinking of 87? It was a shot on Hayward and a Nord ran into him in the crease.
He’ll never be as bad as Ron Hoggarth. Poster boy for birth control.
I grew up down the road, in the sticks, and we hated Cornwall because it was full of city slickers.
The Royals had some real talent in those Hawerchuk years.
LMAO!
White pads and gloves, white tape on the stick, because it makes it harder to see the mesh of the net for shooters.
Easy to pick out the neophytes, ain’t it Andrew?
http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/
And Calgary fans think he’s anti-Flames.
If he’s annoying everybody, maybe he’s favouring nobody
I have a friend who has two tickets (Club Level 218, row C) for the Maple Leafs and Canadiens game on Saturday April 10. Tickets are face value $187 plus taxes, and he is asking $400 for the pair.

Only serious inquiries please. Thanks.
Whats this? A PP Goal, WOW!!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it comes to Hockey).
Is it just me or is practicly every shot going wide…or are they most of the time deflected?

Not sure who is worse Stock or Milbury…both could possibly be Don Cherry’s love child…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
Moore 89% on face-offs.
We are going to blame this one on Cam Ward, truth is not enough players can finish around the net!!!!
Stupid penalty by Cammallerri.
Pricey with the glove save.
Huge dive, since when can Cammalleri hit?
Cammy…Oy Oy Oy!!!
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
High glove side … no goal, love it.
Put pressure in the Canes zone and keep two Habs around the blue lines!
score two and the rest of the game, hog the puck til the end!
You are right on that. It’s driving me nuts.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Key centerman right there!
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante

Habs keep it up in the third and they’ll be fine.
Would help if they’d throw a few more bodies in front of the net during those lengthy O-zone possessions and try to rattle Ward a hair. He’s not giving up a lot of second chances.
I hate it when we look good and can’t score dammit!! Crush these guys!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it compunkses to Hockey).
Anyone hear Mcbain’s intermission interview?
“Laughing time is ovah….MENDOZA!”
someone please laugh…
we just cannot score 5-5 …we really only have 4 quality forwards plecks, gion, camm, gomez…the rest of our forwards may go on a streak but are very inconsistent and not reliable in big game situations…it also does not help the poor passing up to the forwards by the d…
Sure hope they find the back of the net this period…Someone needs to get dirty and get in Wards face…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
hahaha
Good old Ranier Wolfcastle.
OK. Third period coming up. So far not so good. We have to hit, we have to forecheck, we have to get in Ward’s face. We need this win, big time.
Hit. Forecheck. Get in the crease.
Well boys this isn’t going too good.?
End of second period 1 – 1. Canes playing a perfect road game.
Can Habs score more than 2 goals tonight.?
They’re going to have to cause if history repeats Price will let in a softie.
Canes goal stunk up the joint but you know thats just Price’s bad luck. Not knocking him..just saying.
Laps got nothing to offer. Nothing. Lets hope for his and our sake he scores the winning goal!
30 minutes of hockey to go. I don’t like our chances.

WARNING
PJ Stock on L’Antichambre tonight.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
3 goals.
Very old…doesn’t even matter who we’re playing…
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante
We need someone to go in front of the net before we shoot.
All I ever read on here about L’Antichambre is complaints about a bunch of over-the-hill or out-of-touch (usually they intermix) loudmouth jerks, so why do people keep watching?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

HURRICANES Really!! I think I just threw up, I quit, we will lose the next 2 games! You can’t Polish a Terd!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it comes to Hockey).
Well he’s only an RFA and is not eligible for arbitration so I don’t see the Habs not signing him.
I hear Martin has a new book coming out , How to coach a 40 min game in the NHL. This guy has to go
judging by the lack of talent he’s assembled over the years for the Flyers, I’d have to disagree that he knows goaltenders.
He was watching the game where Price let in 2 goals on 17 shots.
This particular family has done both harm and good to the Canadiens over the years. Molsons aren’t a slam dunk for positive changes in the organization.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Timo, what are you doing, counting your fingers or trying to fly.
This team is missing a few pieces yet my friend, but top players just don’t grow on trees.
We have a better chance in winning with Halak in nets. Just that Halak has lost 3 out of 4…
Of course, Price’s win % in his last few games isn’t great either but what are u doing comparing a #1 (proven) to a backup (unproven)… OWNED. thanks and good night.
“Book your tee time”
Ahh, come on! So dramatic. Last week the headline after a big win was “Playoffs, baby!”
When he went down, the whole team went to ***”
Second that.
These guys are actually making me miss last years team. #%#@%@ disgrace to the uniform!
______
“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.”
Sure sounds like you’re blaming him for this loss. It would help if our top 6 could put the puck in the back of the net.
- Member of Team Price
Ward played exceptionally well in the 3rd but we really didn’t test him that much. Rather, we shot from impossible angles when nobody was ready for a rebound and did what we did against every other team; looked small and unwilling to battle in front of the net.
We battled in the last minute, but in the end, it would’ve helped us to do it for the other 59.
What does it profit them to sign a guy who doesn’t want to play for them anymore?
I feel bad for price. it seems every game a fluky goal goes in and this time right off Hammer.
He gave them a chance to win this one but again their offense came up empty…and that last PP, pathetic…Carolina had better chances.
What are you the humour police?
_________________________________________________________________
Audere est Facere- To Dare Is To Do
JM is killing the team with bad personnel decisions. The team was better off without MAB. He scored, but gave up three or four good scoring chances in the third. Price is jinxed. His own team scores on him again. If Hamrlik wouldn’t have touched Sutter, Price stops that one. All that being said, the Habs lost the game in the 1st. Too many blown opportunities and no finish.
Really Disappointed.
Nice of Latendresse to not add insult to injury tonight.
Price a tir des defaites. And they all laugh.
Thanks, I needed that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDOW6KofuLo
1-4 the rest of the way. These swine should be able to beat the Islanders…….right?
It doesn’t matter who’s in nets. Habs haven’t scored more than 2 goals
(not counting empty netters) in each of their last 6 games. Need to
score more than 2 a game to win consistently.
Dude, logic doesn’t apply here. Look at the stats that matter:
1- Ward won..
that’s it.. that’s all that matters. Hence Price is garbage!
Even MAB?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
You must be one of the fans that Ran Roy out of town… How was this game Prices fault guess we need him to play on the 1 line also…. Wake up
its fans like you that make me wish Price gets traded and comes back to prove you’ll WRONG!!!
So…STFU!!!
-GK-
Once the regular season is over, all of this years group of Habs will be golfing with almost all of last years Habs: Koivu, Komisarik, Tanguay, Higgins, Kostopolus, Latendresse But who will still be playing Kovalev.
Why?
They had a strong 1st period and outshot the Canes but could only score 1
Ya, but Price handles the puck better, and they need offense.
I geuss a real journalist wouldn’t put “tee time” in his article heading either.
Read my post below simpleton.
Lol, I’m going for a lobotomy tomorrow.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH LOL
WE SUCK HAHAHAHA …I THINK I AM GOING INSANE hahahha
These bunch of losers can’t score more than 1 goal HAHAHAHAHA
If we do actually make it to the playoffs, we’re going to face Washington….
HAHAHAHAHAH
Hey that’s not fair. Huet and Theodore are going to be in the finals.
Martin has to be one of the worst in-game coaches in the NHL. Can’t motivate. Can’t adjust.
Bye
- Member of Team Price
That’s the last loss of the regular season. They roll off five straight starting on Friday night in Philly.
If Scarey Price plays one more game this season!! His Fault or not, his luck or whatever is not helping us, JM is a dueche!!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it comes to Hockey).
Habs not even close to the glory days
1. Jaques Martin is not Scotty
Bowman
2. Carey Price is not Ken Dryden
3. None of our
forwards come close to Lafleur
What really did us in tonight was losing battles against Carolina’s 4th line. That was laughable and sad at the same time.
Our boys did not pack it in. What the majority of you coaches dont know….. they were protecting a 1 goal deficit.
Focus on the positive, The Canes wanted a third goal but we would not allow it. A moral victory!!!
If only we had Vinnie, Sundin and, of course PK.
You must have failed math.
I’m a little enraged, so my memory is a little off, but did Jack as* Martin even use his time out tonight? what the hell does he even do out there?
last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
well then he won’t be playing in the NHL next year unless he gets traded or is given an offer sheet.
And what’s wrong with that? It’s much better than facing the Devils.
Dear all:
Habs cannot make the playoffs if they do not score enough goals and support their own goaltenders. This was perhaps the easiest game left in Canadiens’ schedule. If the team does not lift their level, the playoff spot in clearly in jeopardy.
Miguel
Nope!! since 1944 my friend!!
The fire was indeed out, but just to make sure Carolina pissed on the coals. If Price plays again this season, Halak will be on the DL.
Where is PK??????
Bologna, mister grammar school.
Halak had lost his last 3 games. That’s why Price was in tonight.
Is your new dog named Rectum?
Come on! Everything from body language on the ice to post-game interviews reveal that he is out of Montreal the minute the clock ticks twelve!
The other goalie has lost 3/4, winning only against the Panthers.
Hope your right buddy lol!
Only thing he’s good at is crossing his arms and keeping his hands warm with his armpits. He then removes them and smell. He calls it “team sweat”.
I haven’t moved in about 10 minutes. Im just staring at TV screen that says Goodnight. I think my TV is telling me something. I can’t argue with it.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
this team tries but they are just not good enough to win regularly but if they get a few breaks they can win 4-5 games in a row,,,i dont think their over all play on the ice has been that much different when they had the winning streak or now…all year most of the games could have gone either way and if this is the type of talent you have in the long run your record will be around 500
Hamrlik is this year’s komisarek. A bumbling idiot with no shot.
Be there or be square!!!
What is sad is your blind love for Halak. He hasn’t been great in the last few games. We need him rested. We need him focused. If he found a way to win, there will be no need for Price to play but right now, we are winning with Halak about the same as we are winning with Price.
“PRICE: I’m playing good, that’s the reward I need, hopefully the wins will come” (Stubbs‘s tweet)
I’m glad the kid is still confident. Amazing. Next year will be his lucky year.
Price attracts losses.
The team should try and win in front of any goalie they have, the Hawks don’t have anything resembling a No. 1 goalie and they still try to win. If those gutless punks don’t want to try and win for Price, that’s their goddamn problem, screw them.

Lets Call up PK, we need some energy on D, I can’t take this anymore, call him up already!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it comes to Hockey).
Is it too late to call up the Subbanator??
The Leafs will end this misery in the final — and I mean final — game of the 2009-10 season at the Bell Center!
“MAB on D with Markov. O’B benched?”
The whole issue is that you don’t understand why Price is playing?
Coaching Hockey 101:
Section 10: Backups
- A coach usually puts his backup against less quality teams
- A back-up job is to relieve a starter before or after a lot of games are played/going to be played
- A back-up job is to play a game or two when the starter is struggling to get win.
I hope you learned something new today. Of course your anti-Price agenda is evidante. It’s also stupid.
And Brodeur outplayed Halak last Saturday…
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

Ding Ding Ding!
We have a winner!
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
It’s all between the ears people. That’s where and why we lost tonight.
“It ain’t over til it’s over”– Yogi Berra
You can tell that to Harani. Her avatar is getting to me quite sensually.
I was personally responsibe for Roy leaving. I’m really Ronald Corey.
Since when did Boone become a “real” journalist?
Don’t jinx it bud!!
But you know what… we need your optimism right now
Wow, that’s exactly what I did. I couldn’t even get mad. I was in shock!
Philly is a win. Buffalo will start Lalime on Saturday, just cause. Carolina will have crappy game and the Islanders suck.
bees with no sting , they cant score and at times make opposing goalies look great. Ward was good but man did we help him out . We just cannot score . except when at times we put it in our own net.T, his is not a gold tending issue it is about no offence , we cant put anyone away.
Tee Times???
I’m not happy, but there’s a long way to go. Have you looked at Atlanta’s schedule? Rangers play Philly back to back to end the season.
It’s gonna be a wild ride!!
That second goal doesn’t happen if Markov doesn’t wimp out and cough the puck up along the boards.
A veteran defenseman playing ultra soft and causing a turnover? Not acceptable.
Bologna is indeed an alternate spelling of baloney and a city in Northern Italy very close to where my people came from. When the word is used as a synonym for ‘nonsense’ as opposed to ‘lunch meat’, you spell it ‘baloney’. And that’s not phony baloney either.
Whatever, shitehead
Hey I got a great idea…..The GM should fire the coach and then coach for the remainder of the season to get a REAL GOOD LOOK at whats going on in the room….Oh yeah they tried that trick last year….damm it. Seriously though something really needs to change soon because this is pathetic. Call up PK because he was the best player on the ice against the flyers….Oh and add some muscle if we have any because the Flyers are not going to take the next game lightly…..
Or O’Byrne recognizes Staal is all alone instead of doing nothing. Or the forwards actually hustle back and the goal never happens.
Yeah, about as wildly exciting as watching a drunken man trying to determine if he has the winning raffle ticket.
He is singing pass the dutchie
I’m a huge Price fan, but, WOW, why can this team not score for him. He played solid (again) and the team did nothing for him (again). I am really beginning to beleive some of the posters who say the guys simply play beter for Halak. I think you have to start riding Halak until its over…
Shiloh has an anti-Price agenda.
Man! There’s a reason why we’re still in the top 8. WTH happened with this team??
They should be glad to have two great flacking goalies.
Effin’ brutal.
GO HABS GO!
LOL EWWWWWWWWWW
hahahahah
LOL, pass it to me, I need a lift about now
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
would love to read more from you on this
I dont think Halak’s agent is this Halak crazy…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
2P 16:16: Sutter’s speed torches Hamrlik… > Canes goal, 1-1
3P 4:25: MAB on D with Markov. O’B benched? > because of Staal that made it 2-1 Canes
3P 8:00: MAB on D? God save us! > would’ve been more than 2-1…
Is the defense the major overhaul of the whole team? Discuss.
When Bob Gainey, who is ANYTHING but a quitter, bails out on this team midway through the season…that’s all I needed to know
He was very good, but that second goal? His gave up a rebound right onto Staal’s stick! Not a very heads-up move.
You must be the same guy in 2003 said Theodore was going to be the best Habs goaltender of all time
Andrew
That 2nd goal is on O’B.
Im close to BC I will mail you a KG this weekend is going to tell us if the boys want playoffs or golf
I’ll be there! Hopefully, not the same result as New Jersey! We still hold our destiny in our own hands.
“I gotta feeling…that tonight’s gonna be a good night!”
Depressing.
Yes, I couldn’t agree more.
1. Jaques Martin is not Scotty Bowman
2. Carey Price is not Ken Dryden
3. None of our forwards come close to Lafleur
Rebound? The puck bounced about 5 inches off his pad on a screened shot. That’s going to result in a bounce every single time. The responsibility there was on the defense for leaving the only skater on Carolina who can actually score all alone.
2006-07 all over again? I don’t think I (or anyone who has to be around me from April-October) could handle that.
I hope we clinch before, and our charter and just get lost on the way back from Carolina.
Yah his wife is in love with Price
i think clark was correct we do not really have a first line forward…someone who can produce 90 points …we have 60-70 point forwards….
I need to hang the goat horns on someone, but who?
1. Hammer for his classic ” you got around me cause i’m too slow, so I’ll do a snow angel into my own net”
2. O’B for his ” where my man ? are you my man? Oh, there is my man and he just scored”
or 3. JM for well, being JM
What do you think, 1 2 or 3?
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
This.
Those gutless punks couldn’t score on my sister’s 25lb dog. Pathetic.
If I were Price I would demand to be traded.
If only he’d done it before the remodelling job.
…damn Brian, two consecutive arguments We are on the same side
…either you’ve been drinkin’ too much lately …or We will win the 5 before the Weedz game
Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY
http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=423049
If he plays more than 10 games it counts as a year towards UFA status — at least I think that’s the logic.
I don’t mind Subban staying down and making a run for the Calder. Next year’s D-corp is gunna be something special!
This team isn’t that bad, but they need an extra few additions, and adding more marquis rookies is part of that equation.
and in english what does that mean?
Actually he was the one saying Huet was a keeper.
Yes but the Penguins have hardly been impressive of late.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
You can yell at smurfs all night long but it ain’t goinna win you play-off hockey!
This team plays like a closely knit group of physics professors. All head, no heart. I pick 3.
Actually, he was the one saying Theodore was too small.
- He was right then too.
Did you see him trying to catch his breath on the bench? Geez. We’ve got to have the oldest D in the league.
Tough one but I got to go with #1. We had momentum going until that goal. It was all downhill after that.
Bring up Subban. He dominated the AHL. He’s already 10X better defensively than MAB, faster and has a similar shot. Plus he shoots right. This team needs his offensive instincts.
Very good point.
To make matters worse, if the game matters, Chris Lee will definitely get the nod!
So, little survey:
Who’s going to buy the playoff tickets this weekend(available for 10-pack holders)?
would love to read more from you on this
basically, it means that l’antichambre gets really pathetic… oh wait, wasn’t it already?
(it means that Price attracts losses)
Hammer scored the first goal go see a eye doctor
have to to score to win folks..on to the next one..the roller coaster continues. what can you do.
Gimme a break. You’ve been asking me to the dance for weeks and following me around like a puppy and I just keep telling you to go away and now you’re trying to make it sound like I am into you.
And your point is?
Mine was just because we lost to a really bottom team tonight does not mean we are done.
It’s amazing that we’re still in the playoff picture. The Eastern Conference really is terrible…
Garbage is your post. go back to the leafs blogs.
Way before you became a “real” fan.
True. totally different game from that point on
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
I told you already, I am not interested.
The horror…the horror…
Proof is in the pudding as the old folks say.Just check a few posts and see just who is following who. Seems like every night i read your posts my name is in it. I had a crush once too but it was a female and it was in real life.
The healthy Habs have not been impressive either.
Roman Jambon-lik.
I vote for the first two. I think coaches get too much credit for winning and take too much heat for losing, this isn’t football. Every player on the Habs knew this was an important game. To come out like that in the third is just BS.
That really was a terrible play by Hamrlik though.
A “real fan” would nt have” tee time” as his avatar at this time of the season.
THIS TEAM IS A JOKE!
didn’t anyone tell this crappy bunch that hockey IS A 60 MINUTE GAME!
THIS TEAM NEVER EVER EVER PLAYS FOR 60 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they’re like theire coach- PASSIVE! thereswno urgency for this team! THEY DON’T GIVE A DAMN!
THEY DESERVE TO LOSE! they’re not a playoff team and never will be!
they’re too SOFT, too OLD, too SMALL, too PASSIVE, too NONCHALANT. they’re just plain crappy!
They’re unwilling to go the net! to go the corners and fight for the puck!
they’ve been this way, for the past 10 years! IT NEBER CHANGES!
I HOPE THEY LOSE EVERY REMAINING GAME AND THEY WILL!
THEY STINK! I HATE THEIR COACH AND GM! all pure garbage!
What do you expect him to have a magnet on his pad that pucks magically stick too?
agreed.
Well, if it all comes down to the final game against the Leafs:
The Negative: We don’t have Michael Ryder on this team.
The Positive: We don’t have Steve Begin on this team.
The Decider: Bettman will make sure that Chris Lee calls the game.
Yes, barring the intercession of the entire Communion of Saints, we are done like dinner!
Hate to wrap this thing up too early, right MH? Makes for interesting evenings as the season winds down
On a winning team.
!. This turned out to be the game.
You had to bring Tiger Williams into this, didn’t you Brian. Have you no shame?
i was and it was interesting.
thank you
Not just the injury, Cammi looks lost on the ice.
thanks for the translation. yes he seems to be the most snake- bit goalie in the NHL ( re wacky bounce off boards througn the crease which also almost went in). plays great and still loses.
I am a Habs fan. What is muscle?
The Habs are just NOT able to score 5-on-5. It is a horrible problem that has plagued this team for years. Last night the same trend continued and as a result the Habs made Ward look amazing. Don’t get me wrong, because Ward WAS amazing, but I just think that the Habs anemic offense tends to make goaltenders look even better than they are.
Read my article about the game here:
http://www.habsaddict.com/2010/04/montreal-carolina-ward-backstops-canes.html
“Barring the most calamitous collapse in the history of the franchise, your Montreal Canadiens are going to be playing hockey in mid-April.”
i blame you boobe. you had to jinx us with your unbridled optimism during their 6 game winning streak a couple weeks back.
….wha..wha.. what?? playoffs??
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA………..AAAAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA………….HA HA HA HA…………….
If Habs do sneak into the playoffs, does ANYBODY like their chances in 1st round? If they play Washington,Ovechkin will probably score 20 goals in a four game Caps sweep.
Time to hibernate for the summer.
Like when Toronto bounced Habs was it 07 or 08. I fear that to, Leafs are looking good.
Gbye playoffs
That Cam Ward is the SHISSEL!
Bobby Clark says the Habs should sign Halak and move Price – and he knows goalies.
Oh well at least they tried.
We can hold our heads high and focus on the positives. We only gave up 2 goals, we scored a pp goal and we had chances.
Goalies like Ward and Martin F are too good for us to beat. Better luck next time.
We can still focus on that number 8 seed.
See you in Philly.
Tickets for canadiens playoffs games are on pre-sale this weekend for 10-pack ticket holders.
Brutal. Who are the fools who say this team isn’t average? What’s the excuse this time?
I didn’t know the Habs official name was the Montreal Sharkwannabes. Way to choke, with only 5 games left now. “We have one game left, and that’s with Carolina”, said Gomez. Yeah, right, big boy.
Someone argue with me. Tell me that they didn’t mail in this game in the 3rd?
this was f’in embarrassing, i am so pissed off right now… Jm needs to be shown the door and this team needs a wake up call, how can they go from being so good a few weeks ago to this shit? Seriously Carey was among the select few to show up tonight, i feel bad for him being so snakebit..arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
What a differnce 10 days makes. We were talking about 5th place and going far in the playoffs. After tonight, will there even be any playoffs?
- Member of Team Price
You boys and girls notice that. Ward made the key saves when the game counted on it. Price did not.
Enough with the excuses, someone blocked him, deflection, team giving up on him.
What was Martin thinking having Price in nets when we needes points. When was the last time Price got us 2 points in regulation.
This team is done for!!! Season Over!! HEre you go Atlanta, come right up and take our place we would rather golf this spring anyway!!
——-US Born Habs fan, Proud to be a traitor (when it comes to Hockey).
This loss was even worse for me then the Buffalo loss for some reason
d.e.m.o.r.a.l.i.z.i.n.g
We are on the “Tiger Woods” two year plan…Chicks last year…Golf coming up in a few weeks…
Oy Oy Oy!!!!!!
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
Better watch out before keepthefaith, SF09, PrimeTime and the other “real” fans get wind of this post.
After watching the Cherry story, where my Habs couldn’t lose. 30 years later we just can’t win!!!
“Barring the most calamitous collapse in the history of the franchise, your Montreal Canadiens are going to be playing hockey in mid-April.”
i blame you boobe. you had to jinx us with your unbridled optimism during their 6 game winning streak a couple weeks back.
scotty bowman vs bobby clark
hmmmm
most successful coach in nhl history vs a guy who’s reduced to commentating for TSN
i agree
What game were you watching?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
They should have Olympic breaks every two weeks.
What? Huh? Wadya say HH?
WTF? How can we lose that game?
I hate C. F. Ward
…the problems are EVERYTHING else except the goaltending
…I hope these Guys won’t make Me eat all My previous compliments on Their character and heart
…we’re the Gang That Can’t Shoot Straight …or, at least …The Gang That Can’t Put The Puck In The Net
…the Hurricanes have found Their game, …maybe too late for them, but they are playing like a Top-10 overall team again
…YET, if THAT is ALL We got …We ain’t got much
…hope We begin to suck-it-up in the final 5 …because We sure sucked-it-down in the third tonight

They mailed it in the 2nd.
that stat is slightly misleading considering the injuries to basically everyone of the Habs top 6 besides Pleks. Not to mention Markov who’s the only D-man who seems to have any offensive ability.
The time has come for the Subbanator.
Price wasn’t the reason why we lost.
But it’s been a repeat story all year long.
The other goalie was one better than him.
that was Huet’s fault.
Cant beat the loafs, cant beat the canes and keep a 2 goal lead with 2 minutes to go.
On a bright note, World Championships start in May. Go Canada Go!
All I saw was the last 5 minutes of the game. How depressing. Was the rest of the game that bad?
Steve, not ready to eat my gun yet my friend. Don’t forget which family owns the team now! Never lose hope, because then there is no tomorrow. Mr. sun has been getting out of bed an awful long time!
What a joke of a third period. Ward was ridiculous with that kick save at the end. I know MAB can shoot the puck but someone’s got to tell him to stop trying to dangle around people in front of his own net. Terrible, terrible third period.
please send me some of whatever you are on

Yup, he know s goalies alright. …. nittymaki…. robert eche…. hall of famers there for sure
Does Price score goals???????? the team was snakebit
Name me a team other than the Penguins who have successfully tanked to a Stanley Cup please. And the way the Penguins are playing, they’re not exacty looking at a repeat.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
This is bad. So very bad.
To the Canes’ credit, Ward was on fire at the end. But why does it take 59 minutes before the Habs turn up the heat?!
What a sh*tsucker of a game.
Wow, $20 says you’re wrong.
Somebody tell JM that they have timeouts in hockey! WTF?
Brian Burke = Overrated Loud Mouth POS
That’s JM’s “system”. He used it to non-perfection in all those playoff series against the Leafs when he coached Ottawa.
Let’s at least don our tuxes and go down with the Titanic like men!
I can’t wait to hear how this is somehow Price’s fault.
Hey Fred,
You think they would let me coach against the flyers Fri. night??
We need Kovy back for that game to throw the Epic Elbow.

THIS IS THE MOST OFFENSIVELY CHALLENGED TEAM I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they are pure garbage! they will NOT make the playoffs, but Atlanta will!
they can’t beat ANYONE! they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs.
and BTW, PRICE=LOSS ALWAYS! JM is a loser! PG is a loser!
the whole organization=LOSERS!
Let’s give our Saviour chance number 7,298.
im so flattered with this infatuation you have for me. No one has had this kind of crush on me since high school. i am blushing right now.
Right on! Truculence or suckulence. Show us what you got.
Next year, I’m getting season tickets to watch the Bulldogs. They will be cheaper and probably much less disappointing in the end to have purchased.
I’m having a tough time with my finger nails Fred!
It was a tight game, and their goalie was better. Habs should have won 4-2 but Ward did what good goalies do: find a way to win.
You actually think that Price, of his own volition, would sign with the Habs after his endentured servitude is up? You have a bet!
The game where Ward outplayed Price. Price might have played an A- game but Ward played an A+ one.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!
Before the game you were trying to have the holier than thou attitude, pretending that there isn’t a debate between Price and Halak and that that fire has been quelled.
Now you come out with this???
You’re such a freakin’ phony!!!
Well no Hab ran Ward or was there for the rebounds… it’s not just the goalie.. but hey we cannot excpect everyone here to know hockey!
Flyers wouldn’t know goaltending if it crapped on them, they haven’t had a real goalie since the lockout and they likely won’t anytime soon unless we’re stupid enough to give them one of ours.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
really stupid move playing Price against a bottom feeder team like Carolina, Halak is 11-1-1 against teams below .500 like Carolina.
These sadsack bunch of losers booked their tee times back in December. These last few games really are nothing but a formality. Who was the guy that signed all these “stars” and that “head coach” again?
Thats for you Shaker

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
We REALLY needed that first goal!
So guys…
Plekanec has 45 assists.
Gomez just got his 44th.
Is it just me or was that a massive release of pressure? Still have to keep it up, but man…..I feel so much better being ahead even that one goal.
Thank you Tom the bomb!
*whew* I just got in………….MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAB!

Uh-oh. Habs are pressing and playing unreal. Bad news, so is Cam Ward.
LOVING IT!
Keep playing like this guys! wooowww!
That may have been Gill’s best play of defense on that 2 on 1
Short passes are working like a charm tonight. Team is working hard. I hope they get rewarded. Beware the Canes push-back.
So many scoring opportunities! And why that never happened in the past few games?
Ward looking good…Habs need to get dirty in the crease…

Why the shit does Ward have to have a good game tonight??
The Habs specialty: making opposing goaltenders look awesome.
i hate when gill thinks he’s a goalie… those sliding “saves” screw up the tender more than they help
those low % chances become higher % chances because of deflections as well as the goalie having to change his plan mid-way through because he’s not expecting that crap
i hate it when my d do that to me, and it seems to be gill’s MO
That Cam Ward… my goodness!
Sergei in the dressing room. Anyone hear why?
ooohh! Hope Gorges is ok, he’ll be back!
SK-74 injured?
rewarded with a lower body injury! sad face
Mulder followed Gorges off… Anyone see Sergei?
Quite worried about Cammalleri; look different after his knee recovery. Hope he’ll keep up sooner.
……unbelieveable. Not one damn year without playoff injuries. Gorges will be ok, will Sergei??
I don’t recall SK being hit, let’s hope for an equipment problem.

It’s because only once in the last 10 years [2008] have the Habs qualified for the playoffs without torturing us all the way to the end.
Neither am I.
He commented that if a guy puts a stick on somebody and it doesn’t affect the play in any way, there should be no call. Let the guys play.
Cammalleri… If you’re still working out the kinks with your timing fine but stay out of the damn box.

Horseshit call. He turned away when he saw Cammi coming.

REBOUND CONTROL!!!
Shut up. Idiot.
Granted but it doesn’t help to leave Staal alone either

edit: I mean from the team in front of him
This rebound control exscuse is BS..i mean yes sometimes goalies need to control their rebounds more…But really what do you want him to do? this shot was clearly a shot for the rebound.
“Goaltending is a normal job, sure. How would you like it in your job if every time you made a small mistake, a red light went on over your desk and 15,000 people stood up and yelled at you.” -Plante
where is he supposed to kick that?
is he supposed to re-write the laws of physics?
maybe staal should have been covered.
Markov was too soft on the play and O’Byrne was well, O’Byrne. That being said, Price did get a piece of the shot. Just not enough.

unreal that when the team stops skating, everyone stands around and chases the puck… JM just stands there with his arms crossed… well done
typical this year we quit on price, mcguire is the biggest turd on tv why does he still have a job
Everyone who talks about Halak’s rebound control, check that last goal out. Not that I subscribe to the notion.
And the mocking of Olé Olé begins…
Let the blasting begin!
HOLY CRAP, SCORE A GOAL GOD DAMNIT.

Hey canus you every play goal or hockey how was price supposed to stop stall but let me guess if halak was in net he would get it cause he is like superman is he. Maybe you get some glasses and watch the game, and not the way Kerry Faser does!
Hey, that’s for whimp coaches.
When it’s as stupid as yours is, yes, I do.
You’re analyzing a problem that doesn’t exist. Price isn’t the problem with this team.

look at the time I sent it, SAME time as the other post… how would that be possible?
Holy Cow how are we not winning 4-0 lol
Plek/Cammy/Ak46 line looking the best so far…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
“love cannot drown truth, Nefertiti”
I’d say a big “Improvement Needed” banner would be good in writing an article on their journalistic integrity myself.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
that snipet/headline is very misleading. price has started three games since then, two in which he should have won
I love Pleks, but I have little confidence in him executing on a breakaway.

Two shots for Carolina in the first and one of them was Tom The Bomb barrelling through Price.
SK looked stiff after he was jammed into the boards early on; told my son he looked hurt. Hopefully just a minor pointer and not a reinjury of his ankle.
Very, very worried. Yes we’re dominating but we dominated Buffalo too. Canes only need one break and it’s all tied up. Go HABS!!!

It was a trick question.
Involved making a judgment call on a goaltender.
Keith will get the Norris I’m sure of it, Chara got it last year because he played defence in addition to his career-best Offensive numbers, much like Keith has proved he is a true 2-way defencemen this season.

haha, listen to you people. The Habs are absolutely dominating this game, yet, you keep on saying this game sucks, this and that. But, Price is the only one who has failed. You can’t use the excuse anymore with the team let him down. Price just isn’t a money goalkeeper.

Bunch of dumb luck. Who could have known that Ward would steal a couple of points. Better luck on Friday.
Being outshot 12-2 this period is hardly domination.
Now stop reminding me…. ugh.
The team has quit. There’s no finish. I do not like what I’m seeing….
Montreal is in red just so you know.
—
Chris
and what were the shot totals in the first two periods. It’s simple, Ward is a money keeper, whereas Price just isn’t.

Hey that was quite the power play eh?
8 minutes left. I can’t take this shite anymore. I’m going for a walk.

Can’t believe some of you gofers here are actually blaming Price for this game.
So there’s nothing wrong with the team?
I guess scoring 1 goal is a huge feat then.
With you on hammer but spachy s +12 is the best +/- on the team
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
especially so when he’s letting his regular softies.
Yeah that whole goal theyve scored, complete domination!
Tard
What a bunch of knobs! No character on this team.
Everyone’s giving up.. come one… don’t give up yet….. we got this.

You mean 1 goals on 28 shots wont win us the Stanley Cup???????

I love how Price always has to shut the other team out in order for MTL to win. This is ridiculous. You can’t win hockey games scoring 1 goal night after night.
Against CAROLINA…
Terrible third. We deserve to lose and will likely end up 8th amd screwed or ninth. Sad display here with season on the line, but can’t say Bruins any better. Only four good teams in East. Quite depressed.
woowwww shots on goal are 16-5 in favour of carolina this period
15 to 5 shots, and 3 shots AGAINST on our PP. And we blame the goalie. What a bunch of IDIOTS
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
This game reminds me of that old Frank Zappa song:
“The torture. The torture. The torture never stops.”
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Price has made some better saves than ward.. you need to check your doctor and buy some glasses.
Why was he scored on? he is getting hit by Canes and his own players…
How about this, go on the ice, go on your knees and have 6foot something dudes knock you over then let us know how many goals you let in… COWARD!
I beg your pardon?
whats your problem with price I know he lets in some bad goals but tonight he is keeping us in it
I agree with you mr. smoking aces he must have the eye wear that kerry fraser has
lol, what’s wrong with you Price fanatics.

Boone, thanks much for the Burns link. Hands down the best thing I’ve read by Rejean Tremblay. A weeper!
Dup.
That may be a goal…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
goal. were tied
F**K HAMIRLIK!!!
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
Yep that’s a frigging goal
Pierre McGuire — relax, man.

This goal epitomizes Carey Price’s season in a nutshell.
“Compromised.” The word Maguire is looking for is “compromised.”
This team just doesn’t know wtf to do with Carey in net. Hey let’s put it in our own net!
Christ I turn the TV on, and they score!
Of course the defense kicks the puck in the net…
This team really does hate Price lol…
Poor, Pricey
If that goal goes, transfer all the momentum to the Canes…
****ing pathetic.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
Hammer kicked it in…ugly
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
I call a penalty shot.
Shouldn’t it just be a penalty? We had to touch the puck to send it in the net.
Wow, it’s like we want to score on Price.
WOW
What the hell is a “good goal”? As opposed to a bad goal? Just say “the result is a goal.”
Wow. Carey cannot catch one break. How can one guy be this unlucky? I honestly cannot believe this.
God damn bad luck again! Poor Carey! The Hard Luck Kid.
16-3 shot 1-1 the score
crap
Is Price allowed to glare at his defence on that one?
They forgot to give Hamrlik an assist at the very least.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
no one had control of it…
Bad Luck Shleprock. Price must hate this team by now.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
It’s actually 0.667
how many times have I seen that same sh*t from Hamrlik all year. 5.5 mil and people say Gomer is a waste of money
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
Look. People. I like Price. I would love to see him succeed with the Habs as he succeeded at the WJC and during the AHL playoffs. But seriously! What’s the excuse now?
Actually It’s .666, but good counting.
Is there a slower defence in the league?
“Without the strength of the past, the team may face a choice – to win, or to be French-Canadian?” — Ken Dryden
I am sick of talking luck. Good goalies find a way. Work hard play after play. 3 shots and 2 pucks in. Mind you he was crashed, but I am sick of Carey’s softness. Pull him and put in Halak before this game is out of reach.
Next ten minutes could determine our fate… For tonight- for our season. Ward great
And that is why Carey should see very little ice time. Luck is not on his side.

excuse for what?
“Without the strength of the past, the team may face a choice – to win, or to be French-Canadian?” — Ken Dryden
What was he supposed to do there HH? Honestly, tell me what a goalie could do.
Dominate the game… let in a weak/unlucky goal, and all the negativity spills out. Welcome to Habs fans… the best/worst fans in hockey.
Please provide an answer on what the hell he was supposed to do on that play?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
That’s why you shouldn’t coach You are going to prevent a great goaltender from playing because of bad luck?
…what the HELL are you watching? Hamrlik flew into him and kicked it in. Name me a goaltender that would stop force that pushes the entire net off.
Yeah, Because Halak would have stopped it in the same place.
What is Price doing in the NHL anyways? He should be owning the AHL…

Alright I’m done, I can’t read this place anymore tonight. You people are losing me
What the hell do you expect any goalie to do on that play?
Is it Price’s fault that Hamrlik came in crashing into him?
You wanted him to make a blocker save on Hamrlik?
Are you even watching the game????
Oh shut up man, that is perhaps the most ridiculous comment I’ve read all day. “Good goalies find a way” please. Hamrlik scored on his own net, there was absolutely nothing Carey could do there
He made the save to bail out his defenceman, then that same player knocks it into his net.
I’m not saying I agree with the poster about Price not playing because of bad luck, but you can’t have it both ways either.
If you believe enough to excuse Price’s season on bad luck than you have to agree with the poster.
We need wins, and if bad luck is going to prevent us from reaching the playoffs… you know the rest.
Honestly If you ask me, both arguments are crap.
Nope.
I consider him a nobody.
ten bucks says he’ll be endorsing some hair spray (with super hold) in a cheesy ad in the near future
Gotta bury the chances and score a goal!
Jeez, its like some people here want Price to lose so they can provea point.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I think you just hit the nail on the head.
- Member of Team Price
I prefer Halak but there’s no doubt as to the accuracy of your statement
To paraphrase the immortal words of the great Joni Mitchell, Carey shut out the Canes.
LMAO!
Booner, you’re a mean old daddy, but we like you.
Price has the worst luck ever….
FFFFFFFFF*********CCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awww Kerry is retiring? I guess he feels that Chris Lee can take over for him.
“Pusie possessed a wickedly wild shot, so inaccurate that he could not hit the province of Quebec if he was standing inside the Montreal Forum.” Dick Beddoes
Looking mediocre again…
I knew all those chances we didn’t score on would end up biting us in the @ss.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
16 shots to 5… mailed this one in.
Considering they’re playing the Carolina Divers tonight…definitely, let’s hope officiating isn’t a factor.
GO HABS GO! GO HABS GO! We CAN do this!
Is anyone watching OTR? This guy just mentioned “Keith Primoo” lol. Just thought you’d get a kick out of that.
Took the dog out for five minutes and missed a goal. Was it a good one?
A classic.
What your dog left on the sidewalk was nicer to watch.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
lol Hamrlik came in crashing to Price and the puck went in
No loss!
But his replacement Chris Lee takes Frasers’ incompetance to a new level!
Noteworthy is that the NHL asked Bill McCreary stay on …….only!
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:
1st star: Henri Richard
2nd Star: Doug Harvey
3rd Star: Jacques Plante
Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
Halak would have been able to stop Hammer. lol
Looks like some of the boys bought some new clubs they want to try out in the post-season…
“Vive le col roulé! Le système, C’est le col roulé!”
i’ve seen this before. we can tie this. pleks
So, I’m just wondering if the players actually think they are playing with desperation.
YOU. With the brain. Stop it. This is the INTERNETS, for petes sakes.
Sorry, maybe I shouldn’t have gone to school and should have focused completely on hockey instead! Right?! That was a hilarious thread yesterday.
At least it’s not Huet.
Kerry It’s nice and all that you gave us that stick measurment call, but get the hell out and good ridance, hope lee joins you soon you SOB!!!
Another 5 five years of this cruel joke.
Sounds ominous.
ZING!!!
She left a few gift loafs in front of Sophie the Cat’s house, but we always scoop – nothing left on the sidewalk.
All we need is one goal. Come on boys!
Man, a few weeks ago I honestly thought things would be different, that the Habs turned a corner. But appears not, same old, same old. Disappointed, really disappointed.
Oh well, here we go again….
Very demoralizing to watch.
Jeez, Ward is a friggin wall tonight.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I think Weirdo is in their minds now.
All those giveaways!! WTF !!!!
PLEASE let’s score, atleast one for Carey! I really hope he knows he is a hell of a goalie..
I need a W for my morale tonight! Come’on!!
WWWWAAAAARRRRRRRRDDDDDDD!!!!!
Ward is amazing and will keep the Canes in the game.

He’s bound to only get worse next year.

Can we not dogpile on top of our own goalie? Pull them OFF of him.

http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
With how bad they’ve been this year, I’d nearly forgotten how much I absolutely hate the Hurricanes. They crash the net on every single possible play, I hate that garbage so much.
Now they’re even trying to hurt Price, as if scoring on him wasn’t bad enough…
We have seen it all year in that when we dont bury our chances our opponents take advantage of it and then we go into a shell. Storm warning!!!! Lets pray we can get to overtime. We all know Ward will say NO!!!!!! I will be happy with a point.
Remember our Gainey motto……were number 8!
It’s only a partial no-trade. It’s completely gone by the time next deadline rolls around, and he does have to provide a list of teams he’d accept a trade to.
Yah, cause it’s really that easy?
How did Markov get a penalty for that? Looked like it was all Staal to me on the replay.
To hell with it , run ward, slash stall, wathever it takes. If carolina whats to play that crap , make em pay!
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
Funny, I bet you hear that a lot.
But it’s a great way to play. They’ve learned how to do it during their playoff runs. If The Habs played that way, this game is over already.
Should be easier than avoiding getting on top of the pile themselves.

is it too early to start with the F. Ward tonight?
Habs have played great game with one unlucky break. I believe in the heart on the club and think we’ll win this one.
Great way to play because refs don’t have the balls to call goalie interference 9/10 times.

F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These guyss$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally sucked in third
AK IS AWFUL
No argument there.
yep, booze is the only thing that can help
WHY was there not a sixth man out there???? JM you suck!
if management had any guts.. martin would be fired after this game… and should have been fired 3 months ago… and MAB should go back to being a FA.. and AK should join him
Scott Gomez just made approximately $100,000 for playing in this game…nice work if you can get it
What a joke.
FU*K THIS !!
The last time the leafs won the cup it was still just a bowl!!
Awesome!
This team can’t score for the sake of their lives.
Whether it’s JM’s inability to coach a 3rd-period comeback or they are not willing to play for Price, **** them, they don’t deserve the playoffs with efforts like this.

F U CAM WARD. why why why why .
What a joke.
Price = Loss.
If you can do it in last minute then you can do it. They lacked any passion or pressure in rest of the period. I’m ashamed.
How long does it take 18 MTL players to score more than one goal against the Carolina Hurricanes?
More than 60 minutes. Pathetic.
toast
Team = Gutless.

http://habsandhockey.blogspot.com/
In order to have won tonight, he’d have to have shut Carolina out. Ok… fair enough, but is that really reasonable for a team expected to head off into the playoffs? Beat Carolina in a 1-0 score? What should people expect against equal strength teams?
BG just made 5 million for parachuting out of here, after putting together this awesome team…Even better work.
Good stats – fingers crossed they will prevail…
We’re sitting between 87 and 92 percent chance of making the playoffs – don’t buy mourning clothes quite yet.

Nah! I’m playing on exhibition in order to play the Canes. I try not to alter the roster too much aside from bringing up prospects. The only trades I do in Be a GM mode are to get rid of veterans and bring in picks or prospects.
This is the first time I’ve seen this, but I imagine it may have been posted here before. Timely with this being Kerry Fraser’s last game!

Jennifer Heil is cute, or it’s just me?

I don’t get it either. Is Cammalleri not a first line player? I mean he scored 39 goals last year. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

If you can’t score vs a Carolina team that has nothing to play for, how do you think you’ll do against one of the top seeds in the playoffs., which is far from a certainty, I know.
Well, on the bright side, Habs have done all the scoring in this game.
Roman Jambon-lik.
Well, there’s always the Bulldogs to entertain us in the playoffs.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
Halak would not have stopped Hamrlik.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Get lost fair-weather fan, you’re depressing all of all.
We will have tough games as the season dwindles as Carolina is showing us tonight.
It will not be easy winning game in the next games against Philly, Toronto, Carolina, Buffalo and yes even the Islanders.
No gimme W’s here.
I’m starting to have visions of the 2006-07 season in my head.
We could finish in 10th when the season ends(my prediction) or just eke into an 8th place position.
I don;t like what I see in our team, we are healthy, yes? Markov is back, yes?
What the hell is the problem?
Starting a shaky Price in nets is a big mistake.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
Hey do us all a favor and just click once hehe.
Canes should be no where near this game but Ward is solid.
We’ll win though, horseshoe can’t stay stuck up there forever.
They call me Shane
Finishing 10th at this point we would actually have to lose all our remaining games considering how bad the Rangers and Flyers have played.
And Price is shaky? Come on Mike, impart us with your amazing goaltender wisdom in how he could have possibly stopped a sliding Hamrlik from knocking it into the net?
I thought we weren’t going to make the playoffs you fair-weather fan.
Why don’t you take your incoherent drivel elsewhere, ya bum.

Oh nothing, I just think it’s quite sexy.
And Bergeron- better question – what’s record with and without him?
F*CK YEAH
YES, bout friggin time!!!
That said, Gerber blew the first two games of the series vs Montreal (GAA of 6.00 I believe) and lost the starting job to Ward soon afterwards. I believe Gerber may have been fighting a flu bug or something along those lines, but clearly never recouperated.
