All good. Habs were never going to sweep the Bruins. Bring the last 30 minutes’ effort to the next game and we’ll be up 3-1.

    Great game.

  2. Chuck says:

Well, at least they showed that when they can turn on the offensive pressure against Boston. Sucks that they came out so flat–almost as though they tried too hard not to get caught up in the atmosphere–but they’ll learn from it and be ready for Thursday night.

  3. Barts says:

Why don’t we come out like that in the first!!!!!!!! FRUSTRATING.

  4. habsfaninboston says:

They played awful in the 1st and got better as the game wore on. I’ve got a feeling they’ll come out more prepared on Thursday.

  5. RGM says:

All heart and effort in the third period. I thought they may have had enough mojo to pull it off.

  6. stephen says:

We all like to pick on Thomas, but you have to give credit where credit is due.

He made a handful of great saves in the waning minutes.

That said, he also gave up two questionable goals.

If the Habs can play closer to 60 minutes on Thursday like they did the last 20 tonight, they should be in much better shape come Saturday.

  7. ooder says:

i have a special WTF dedicated to gomez…. clutch performer in the playoffs? empty net and shoots it right into thomas..
i’m sorry… skate up and down all you want but when you have a chance to tie up the game you do it if you are clutch…

Gotta give Thomas credit, he was the difference

  9. Bill says:

Tough luck. But you can’t lay a stinker like that in the first period and get away with it. Bad news on the 3rd goal too as Price’s pass got picked off, but 9 times out of 10 he makes that one, so live by the sword …

They’ll be back better and harder next game. They won’t suck out in the first period either. This series is shaping up to be an awesome one … Habs in seven.

  10. sidhu says:

NOW they call a penalty? What a joke. Why even give the impression that you were calling the game objectively the whole time?

  11. Keith says:

Almost…but I had a bad feeling about this game. Win game 4 Habs!

  12. Da Hema says:

Bruins played well, but the Habs will win the next game.

  13. sidhu says:

We played for 40 minutes or thereabouts. Not enough.

    We’ll bring a full 60 next time.

  14. habsfaninboston says:

    F*ck!

  15. petrov14 says:

DAMN! Came so close. Gotta win the next game….

Gomez in the dirty areas. Good to see.

  18. 4m3y2j says:

COME ON- WE CAN DO IT-WE BELIEVE!!!!!!

  19. SeriousFan09 says:

  25. SeriousFan09 says:

  26. Mr.Hazard says:

  27. I_SAY_FIGHT says:

    3P 4:50 Gionta low-bridges Chara …so he checked him.

  28. Come on, wipe the ice with these palookas!

  29. Mr.Hazard says:

No one is ever in the slot for rebounds/second chances!!!

  30. _Habsoloutly_ says:

C’mon Hammer, get the fricken puck in deep!

  31. Mr.Hazard says:

REBOUNDS! COME ON!!! THOMAS ALWAYS GIVES REBOUNDS GET ON THAT SH*T!!! DRIVING ME CRAZY!

  32. 4m3y2j says:

What is it going to take for Cowboy Carey to figure out that he is not Brodeur in the puck handling department…

  33. solomio says:

Bruins eating up the clock and Habs got no swing to their game right now.

  34. dhenry1234 says:

    refresh
GO HABS GO WE GOT THIS

  35. Mr.Hazard says:

    NO FLOW! COME ON!!

  36. Barts says:

The ice has gotta be bad there, cause the puck is bouncing all over the place.

  37. _Habsoloutly_ says:

Keep shooting low on Timmy the Tuna boys!!

  38. solomio says:

Gotta agree with Mr. Boone. This night belongs to the Bruins. Out walking the dog thinking even if Habs tie it Bruins will win it OT.
Just the way this game has played itself out.

  39. Chuck says:

Keep shooting low on Thomas. You’ll either generate rebounds or score 5-hole.

  40. Keith says:

Chara just needs a drink of water.

  41. Danno says:

A three-goal lead is a terrifying thing for the Bruins

  42. Barts says:

Anyone seen Pouliot since he took that penalty?

  43. _Habsoloutly_ says:

Throw EVERYTHING on the net boys, Timmy the Tuna is bound to let in another softie. Vezina goalie my ass.

  44. SeriousFan09 says:

Habs need to keep up the O-zone pressure, getting great chances.

    - I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  45. Keith says:

    She’s definitely a game now boy’s and girl’s!

  46. sidhu says:

Never thought I’d say this, but Gomez was flying out there.

Wonder what was said in the room during the 2nd intermission.

  47. VancouverHab says:

ZimHabwe (awesome name) asks “what is it with some Montreal Canadiens fans and their bipolarity?”

I think it’s built into the definition. “Bipolar (n.): having two opposite extremes. E.g. Fans of the Montreal Canadiens.” [OED]

By the way, ‘bipolar’ is a pleonasm….

  48. sidhu says:

Ference went down pretty well after the “slash”. B/s call in my view.

  49. eeyouhabsfan says:

get a shortie come on habs

  50. _Habsoloutly_ says:

C’mon boy’s. Let’s take these losers to overtime.

  51. Rob D says:

I like that crap pass by Cammy..led to the penalty..guy can shoot but he’s an erratic puckhandler.

  52. I_SAY_FIGHT says:

Where was this team for the first two periods?

  53. joe-hab-nuno says:

Thought was bs call but replay was good. Hope he broke his arm

  54. 4EverHabsFan says:

WTF kind of call is that? As Cherry would say, “Let ‘em play”

  55. Danno says:

    Embellished

  60. 4EverHabsFan says:

    PLEKS DOES EXIST!!!!!!

  61. habsfaninboston says:

    WooooooooHooooooooooooooo!
    what a play!

  62. sidhu says:

What a start to the third!!!!!! Chara burned again!!!!!!!! Take shots!!!

  63. 4EverHabsFan says:

That is our #1 Problem… We rely on Darche to score… Love the effort, but no hands

  64. 4EverHabsFan says:

Anyone else wonder why we have to listen to Gary Galley on a Habs telecast on CBC? Where is the great Dicky Irvin!!! Or maybe at least someone who isn’t a former Bruin?? I am on MUTE… CJAD!!!

  65. joe-hab-nuno says:

    Wiz, wiz, wiz

  66. joe-hab-nuno says:

Chuck, I was thinking to myself a 4-3 ot win

  67. ZimHabwe says:

Carey was outplaying Thomas now he’s “reverting to the old form”. Martin was out-coaching Julien now his coaching style is “killing this team”. Geez, what is it with some Montreal Canadiens fans and their bipolarity?

  68. HardHabits says:

So far it’s a tight game and the Habs are making the most mistakes.

Boston is winning face-offs 56% to 44% for Montreal.

10 Giveaways so far in the game, 7 for Montreal, 3 for Boston.

2 Takeaways, 1 per team, not a major factor in this game.

2 of 3 Boston goals scored on Giveaways:

    Period 1
16:55 GIVE MTL GIVEAWAY – #44 HAMRLIK, Def. Zone
    16:49 GOAL BOS #46 KREJCI

    Period 2
17:59 GIVE MTL GIVEAWAY – #31 PRICE, Def. Zone
    17:58 GOAL BOS #49 PEVERLEY

So obviously Boston did their homework. Don’t turn the puck over and capitalize on Habs mistakes or better yet force the Habs to make them. Bruins are winning face-offs so it wont be easy for the Habs to build momentum.

  69. Chuck says:

Let’s go, boys! Someone suggested earlier 4-3 OT. Let’s get her done!!!!

  70. Keith says:

Habs have to come out like gangbusters in the 3rd, get one early and it’s a game again. GO HABS GO!!!

  72. stephen says:

Not much to this one, folks. House-league basics.

The Bruins are first to the puck more often than not and when they’re not, they go harder after it.

Much as the Habs could have prepared for this kind of bounce-back from the Bruins, it was bound to take them aback out on the ice. The difference between the Bruins in games 1&2 and tonight is night and day.

The second intermission might give the Habs just enough time to get up off the mat, give their heads a shake, and get back into it.

If not, I’m confident they’ll come back in game 4 much better prepared for the ‘alive-and-well’ Bruins.

  73. joe-hab-nuno says:

The game is a different game…… If they called that high stick on chara, we’re down 0-2 with a 2 man advantage. That 3rd Boston goal would not happen if refs call Charley horse on cammalleri . The wonderful world of ifs
