Carolina needed the game more.
Which was painfully obvious.
There are, however, losses … and then there are butt-kickings.
What a bummer!
To your point, this season, Luongo has won nine games when letting in three or more goals. Price has won three games when letting in three or more goals.
I think Charlie Sheen as coach of the Habs would be a great motivator. At any rate,I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be as passive behind the bench as JM. Too bad he doesn’t speak French.
He likes Montreal. I met him there on a shoot in Montreal in the late 90’s. Don’t know if he likes hockey.
You know who is a HUGE Habs fan, is Viggo Mortensen.
Muller should be promoted to head coach and Martin to head scout for Alaska with Gomez as is assistant ASAP……l
he barely speaks english, maybe we can get away with it. lol
Ha, ha. I didn’t think of that. Yeah, it might work.lol
I don’t know where else to tell the techie folks about this, but ever since the switch to the new url (hockeyinsideout.com), I can no longer see the live blog when surfing on my iPhone. Can y’all please look into it?? I miss reading Boone’s hilarities without being in front of the computer.
not that they would have done the same thing in montreal
grabs,sk74,dags,moore = 85 goals
= 82 goals
Dags and Moore could still play a role on this team, no?
Anyone up for a little bowling …?
So frustrating. One night they play textbook hockey against Atlanta…and then this. Last week it was 8-1 over the Wild, and then three games without a goal. It’s infuriating trying to get a grasp as to who are the real Habs, and more importantly, which one will show up on any given night. The past week has killed any hope of a division crown, and now it’s looking like it’ll be 6th at best.
Carey Price is All Hart! http://on.fb.me/CP31Hart
Go Habs Go!
Oh man, that has to be the FUNNIEST one EVER.
Thanks for the laugh!
Poor excuse for a hockey team this fine evening…dreadful ! We looked like old men out there. I just don’t have the energy to elaborate. On the bright side, we didn’t take a too many men on the ice penalty tonight. Just trying to stay positive.
This is how i feel right now….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLrnOYJ0Vmo
i’m not going to double check the math, but eyeballing it, it seems to me that the three forwards management gave away – kostitsyn, grabovski and d’agostini – have more points this season than the three big (little) acquisitions costing the team over $18million a year. any management team that stupid should not be allowed to operate anything more complicated than the hot dog machines.
Not to mention the ones we let walk like Moore and his 3rd line 17 goals and Koivu’s 41 points. Dags – 42, SK – 44. What did get for all these guys by the way?
I think Tanguay has 19 or 20 goals too on a not great team.
parise planning to play vs habs sat…i have a feeling we will not be scoring too many goals sat also…
“A reason to cheer for the Bruins: Recchi says he’ll retire if they win the Cup”
I’d just as soon see that p**ck retire cup-less.
recchi won the cup already, come on know your hockey!
Unbench Eller and Pouliot please….Big, strong, young and fast…eesh
You know what stinks ? This site. Get a clue guys this is very sad.

This comment section is driving me up the wall. I just posted something, it disappeared, who knows when it will show up. If you read this two days from now it means I sent it four nights ago. And you probably found it under another section they apparently created just for me: Odder comments.
Gomez isn’t saving himself for the playoffs, but for the off-season!
were did my comment go….jesus.
Price looked bad on 2 goals. Canes cruised through the neutral zone far too easily. This team is very light on the puck. Nuff said.
Well, that was fun. Don’t worry. Once the playoffs begin, we’ll be a different team. Honest.
Still, the faith of the staunchest Habs’ fans is being tested these days. And if your faith is beginning to waver, maybe just maybe you aren’t the treu-bleu Canadiens’ supporter you thought you were.
Take this test to find out if you’re the real deal – or just another troll.

for once i would like to see a complete team together. the defence just blows..frustrating with keys players either injured or limping around.
i have often thought does the system lead to more injuries since team is always playing defensively. any thoughts.
cams, gionta ,gomez were signed to score goals not play defensive hockey…christ.
3 words that sum up my mood right now: OH BEN TABARNAK
Where did the comments go?
Full Breezer 4 Life
…the Pacioretti incident, His loss and Our Habs’ ability to respond to it may be the final straw We just could not withstand …psychologically more devastating and debilitating than We thought
…only hope I feel for keeping this season on it’s once promising path is IF Our Team begin to react to the embarrassing hockey They have been playing recently
…Our Team is NOT the most talented Team in the NHL, but it is much more talented than They exhibited tonight
…what has identified the Gomez-era Montreal Canadiens has so far been spirit and character …We had this shown to Us over these past 2 years …and, character is a non-perishable product
…the question is …have Our Players given-up on Our Fans and/or the Coach
Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY
Well thought out post- good questions, but I wonder where the answers are? I LOVE the Canadiens, but I’m tired of watching them s**t the bed!! Not to mention the amount of doo doo I gotta take because I live in Leafs/Wings country! We Shall Overcome!
we will have to change up the forwards for next year
darche….no upside ..this may be the best goal scoring year he will ever have
halpern….no upside…will not score anymore next year
gomez…i believe he will have the same type of season next year
moen…no upside..same season next year
pyatt…no upside…same season next year
white…will be better next year but still a 6-7 goal scorer
eller will be better next year but if he has a major upside it will not be for another year
dd…has upside but as a playmaker…will not be a goal scorer beyond 12-15 goals.
pouliot…i dont think he has much more to offer than a 15-17 goal scorer
ak46..will repeat the same type of season as this year
camm, gion, plecks will score in the 25-30 range
maxpac if healthy can score 25 -30
our top 3 forwards plecks, gion, camm are really 2nd line forwards…we are missing a first line…plecks an above average forward but not sure he can be your warrior in a long playoff run..
Since you know so much about the team next year and can see the future, could you pass along some lottery numbers?
Habs fan…Nuff said
someone should smack you UPSIDE the head
This team has not played a decent hockey game, including last night’s win, since they were humiliated by the Bruins. Hardly coincidental. Without jumping all over Martin, or anyone in particular for that matter, I believe it does point to a deficiency in how the team is coached. I don’t often find fault with the way JM draws up a game plan. Most would have to agree that he often manages to outcoach teams that ought to be superior to the Habs. What he seems unable to do is motivate the team, either when they are facing lesser opponents, or when they are psychologically damaged, as they appear to be right now. Right now, they they are only “the system”, devoid of any passion, confidence or determination. Ideally, a coach is a motivator, a teacher and a “system” guy. The motivational piece, which I think is what’s most sorely needed right now, is nowhere in sight so what we’re seeing is a bunch of drones whose programming is screwed up, and they have no idea what to do about it.
The Habs are smokin’ hot!!!
THEY GOT SMOKED! Not even close. Embarrassing.
They can’t score, and it’s throwing off their whole game and positioning. But, ….this has been there problem for the LAST TWO seasons since JM has been behind the bench.
They are not a good team and the only reason that they MIGHT make the playoffs is b/c of Price.
We have good skilled players, who are not playing to their potential and having terrible seasons, b/c of the team’s “system”. ie. …remember D’Agositino? 20 goals this season.
Let me guess. Gomez played well!
Eller in the dog house? I hope Benny left it tidy…. What a coach!
To You From Failing Hands We Pass The Torch, Hold it High………………….yeah right
Who give a poop? Stocks are flying!!!
Cammalleri and Plekanec have been injured, but what’s Gionta’s excuse? By not burying the numerous chances he gets per game, the captain shares some of the blame for Gomez’s woes this year. Let’s not forget he received pampered treatment early in the season when he wasn’t scoring and Martin switched him up to Plekanec’s line over Cammalleri’s displeasure.
another blowout! pathetic! this team will be swept in the first round, no matter who they face. in fact they could easily be outscored 30 – 0… FUGLY!
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
this is lame
GWG = game winning gionta!
Skate them hard tomorrow…skate them harder on Friday…Skate them hard again Saturday morning…and lets see what happens.
such a display of pride…..
Maybe they should bag ska– oh wait
They already did….
Wonder if Don the Hypocrite Cherry will mention how disgraceful Carolina is for “running up the score”?
Comments jammed again?
Just a nightmare that I can’t wake up from!
The dream is collapsing!
Chillin like MacMillan, potty-boy says he’s L. B. Potter, esq.

‘Skinner doing his Wayne Rooney impression’??? What the hell does that mean? Rooney is God.
Not the friggin Caners too…
This team won’t make the playoffs. The only team I see the habs beating is the sens and I believe the laffs have a better team right now.
P.s Gomez you are the worst deal in sports history and I know it’s not your fault.
HAMMER IS USELESS … MTL’s tough down 5 – 2 pansies
Good Night! Can’t wait for that game against the Leafs to see if they clinch they playoff spot against Philly. Oh boy…
It’s over, good night
Auld/Price/Dryden…….no one can help this slumping team.
Hope the next game goes better.
there he goes with the notebook again… “3-on-1 = goal against, not necessary for us”
Say goodnight, Gracie.
Yeah that needed to be stopped.
Weak blind shot by us … Carolina breakout: GOAL.
Hamer is USELESS … He’s 57 YEARS OLD! and SLOW
Sal from the Hammer
aye yi yi
Buffalo wins, now they are both 2 points behind
Wow Gionta. If only he was a lefty…
Sugar Ray says: “when it’s over thats when I fall in love again”.
Is it over yet? Unless God him/her whomever, decides to intervene the season is done. Can’t imagine a playoff series against Boston will go that well. Phily/Caps……no way jose. My only hope is that J. Molson purges the whole coaching staff except for my fav. #11. Why not give Muller a shot? JM’s wimpy style has never won a single thing..not a thing anywhere he’s coached. Even if BGL didn’t turn out to be as useless as a head of lettuce on skates JM would still have sat him or whined to PG to trade him because a pugilist is just not his style. The Habs were legit contenders until Chara tried to kill MaxPac. And, because the Habs have no beligerance they folded and turned into what we see today. Note to JM: If a certain coaching style stops working..change it. If you can’t or do not know how to coach another way..stop coaching.
Note to PG: The NHL is a man’s league. There are teams loaded with big strong tough players who will literally try to kill other players to reach thier goal(see Zadano Chara). The NHL will not protect small fast skating teams. Case in point..
Go Habs Go!!
What would hurt more to a Hab diehard?
Boston or Toronto winning the cup ?
Would love to have Larose on the Habs. Great player.
The Hamer is useless … too damn old
Sickening stat… Gomez 7 goals, -15…D’Agostini 20 goals, +3
What would hurt more to a Hab die-hard. Boston winning the cup or Toronto winning the cup ?
Now they’re making up reasons to have a faceoff in the Habs zone. Nice.
look at all the diving! did the rink turn into a pool?
the word i believe pierre mcguire was looking for that skinner was icing down is ‘pierre’ he’s icing down his pierre.
This site sucks
I stop watching after the 2 on 1 goal, just bought myself Kid Rock tickets at the bell center.
Thats awesome dude
Got to say Boone is right, put Wiz and PK on the PP = 2 goals
Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come.
Matt Groening, “Life in Hell”
Some players who have more goals than Michael Cammalleri: Matt D’Agostini, Sergei Kostitsyn, Mikhail Grabovsky.
The ref in the Habs zone called that penalty in reaction to Skinner, not the slash. It was a penalty for sure, but he didn’t put his arm up until several seconds after the slash, when Skinner went down.
It seems as though we have a fully loaded gun squarely pointed at our feet tonight.
Why doesn’t JM play Wiz and PK on the points during powerplays all the time?
