Another humiliation

Carolina needed the game more.

Which was painfully obvious.

There are, however, losses … and then there are butt-kickings.

What a bummer!

  1. habsnyc says:

To your point, this season, Luongo has won nine games when letting in three or more goals. Price has won three games when letting in three or more goals.

  2. habsfan0 says:

I think Charlie Sheen as coach of the Habs would be a great motivator. At any rate,I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be as passive behind the bench as JM. Too bad he doesn’t speak French.

    Hey Folks,
I don’t know where else to tell the techie folks about this, but ever since the switch to the new url (, I can no longer see the live blog when surfing on my iPhone. Can y’all please look into it?? I miss reading Boone’s hilarities without being in front of the computer.

  4. habs001 says:

not that they would have done the same thing in montreal

    grabs,sk74,dags,moore = 85 goals

    = 82 goals

Anyone up for a little bowling …?

  6. RGM says:

So frustrating. One night they play textbook hockey against Atlanta…and then this. Last week it was 8-1 over the Wild, and then three games without a goal. It’s infuriating trying to get a grasp as to who are the real Habs, and more importantly, which one will show up on any given night. The past week has killed any hope of a division crown, and now it’s looking like it’ll be 6th at best.

    Carey Price is All Hart!
    Go Habs Go!

  7. shuttle-lemaire-lafleur says:

Poor excuse for a hockey team this fine evening…dreadful ! We looked like old men out there. I just don’t have the energy to elaborate. On the bright side, we didn’t take a too many men on the ice penalty tonight. Just trying to stay positive.

  8. habsnyc says:

i’m not going to double check the math, but eyeballing it, it seems to me that the three forwards management gave away – kostitsyn, grabovski and d’agostini – have more points this season than the three big (little) acquisitions costing the team over $18million a year. any management team that stupid should not be allowed to operate anything more complicated than the hot dog machines.

  9. habs001 says:

parise planning to play vs habs sat…i have a feeling we will not be scoring too many goals sat also…

  15. mrhabby says:

    were did my comment go….jesus.

  16. Dulljerk says:

Price looked bad on 2 goals. Canes cruised through the neutral zone far too easily. This team is very light on the puck. Nuff said.

  17. JohnBellyful says:

Well, that was fun. Don’t worry. Once the playoffs begin, we’ll be a different team. Honest.
Still, the faith of the staunchest Habs’ fans is being tested these days. And if your faith is beginning to waver, maybe just maybe you aren’t the treu-bleu Canadiens’ supporter you thought you were.
Take this test to find out if you’re the real deal – or just another troll.

for once i would like to see a complete team together. the defence just blows..frustrating with keys players either injured or limping around.

i have often thought does the system lead to more injuries since team is always playing defensively. any thoughts.

cams, gionta ,gomez were signed to score goals not play defensive hockey…christ.

…the Pacioretti incident, His loss and Our Habs’ ability to respond to it may be the final straw We just could not withstand …psychologically more devastating and debilitating than We thought
…only hope I feel for keeping this season on it’s once promising path is IF Our Team begin to react to the embarrassing hockey They have been playing recently
…Our Team is NOT the most talented Team in the NHL, but it is much more talented than They exhibited tonight
…what has identified the Gomez-era Montreal Canadiens has so far been spirit and character …We had this shown to Us over these past 2 years …and, character is a non-perishable product
…the question is …have Our Players given-up on Our Fans and/or the Coach

    Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY

    • deathbringr says:

Well thought out post- good questions, but I wonder where the answers are? I LOVE the Canadiens, but I’m tired of watching them s**t the bed!! Not to mention the amount of doo doo I gotta take because I live in Leafs/Wings country! We Shall Overcome!

  22. habs001 says:

we will have to change up the forwards for next year

darche….no upside ..this may be the best goal scoring year he will ever have

halpern….no upside…will not score anymore next year

gomez…i believe he will have the same type of season next year

    moen…no upside..same season next year

    pyatt…no upside…same season next year

white…will be better next year but still a 6-7 goal scorer

eller will be better next year but if he has a major upside it will not be for another year

dd…has upside but as a playmaker…will not be a goal scorer beyond 12-15 goals.

pouliot…i dont think he has much more to offer than a 15-17 goal scorer

ak46..will repeat the same type of season as this year

camm, gion, plecks will score in the 25-30 range

maxpac if healthy can score 25 -30

our top 3 forwards plecks, gion, camm are really 2nd line forwards…we are missing a first line…plecks an above average forward but not sure he can be your warrior in a long playoff run..

  23. gumper says:

This team has not played a decent hockey game, including last night’s win, since they were humiliated by the Bruins. Hardly coincidental. Without jumping all over Martin, or anyone in particular for that matter, I believe it does point to a deficiency in how the team is coached. I don’t often find fault with the way JM draws up a game plan. Most would have to agree that he often manages to outcoach teams that ought to be superior to the Habs. What he seems unable to do is motivate the team, either when they are facing lesser opponents, or when they are psychologically damaged, as they appear to be right now. Right now, they they are only “the system”, devoid of any passion, confidence or determination. Ideally, a coach is a motivator, a teacher and a “system” guy. The motivational piece, which I think is what’s most sorely needed right now, is nowhere in sight so what we’re seeing is a bunch of drones whose programming is screwed up, and they have no idea what to do about it.

  24. Sheldon says:

    The Habs are smokin’ hot!!!

  25. rbby_habs says:

THEY GOT SMOKED! Not even close. Embarrassing.
They can’t score, and it’s throwing off their whole game and positioning. But, ….this has been there problem for the LAST TWO seasons since JM has been behind the bench.

They are not a good team and the only reason that they MIGHT make the playoffs is b/c of Price.

We have good skilled players, who are not playing to their potential and having terrible seasons, b/c of the team’s “system”. ie. …remember D’Agositino? 20 goals this season.

  26. Let me guess. Gomez played well!

  29. Who give a poop? Stocks are flying!!!

  30. rogieshan says:

Cammalleri and Plekanec have been injured, but what’s Gionta’s excuse? By not burying the numerous chances he gets per game, the captain shares some of the blame for Gomez’s woes this year. Let’s not forget he received pampered treatment early in the season when he wasn’t scoring and Martin switched him up to Plekanec’s line over Cammalleri’s displeasure.

  31. HotHabs says:

another blowout! pathetic! this team will be swept in the first round, no matter who they face. in fact they could easily be outscored 30 – 0… FUGLY!

Is it over yet? Unless God him/her whomever, decides to intervene the season is done. Can’t imagine a playoff series against Boston will go that well. Phily/Caps……no way jose. My only hope is that J. Molson purges the whole coaching staff except for my fav. #11. Why not give Muller a shot? JM’s wimpy style has never won a single thing..not a thing anywhere he’s coached. Even if BGL didn’t turn out to be as useless as a head of lettuce on skates JM would still have sat him or whined to PG to trade him because a pugilist is just not his style. The Habs were legit contenders until Chara tried to kill MaxPac. And, because the Habs have no beligerance they folded and turned into what we see today. Note to JM: If a certain coaching style stops working..change it. If you can’t or do not know how to coach another way..stop coaching.
Note to PG: The NHL is a man’s league. There are teams loaded with big strong tough players who will literally try to kill other players to reach thier goal(see Zadano Chara). The NHL will not protect small fast skating teams. Case in point..

    Go Habs Go!!

The ref in the Habs zone called that penalty in reaction to Skinner, not the slash. It was a penalty for sure, but he didn’t put his arm up until several seconds after the slash, when Skinner went down.

It seems as though we have a fully loaded gun squarely pointed at our feet tonight.
