Tells me database servers are experiencing difficulties.

  3. andrewberkshire says:

RIS I have, but it’s absolute garbage, and I don’t pay for Center Ice because it’s rarely ever HD.

  4. _Habsoloutly_ says:

It’s on RIS and Center Ice.

  5. showey47 says:

    No kidding.

  6. Bryan says:

Pretty bad quality, but it’s there!

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  7. andrewberkshire says:

If you’re talking TV channels, then obviously I don’t have those channels, if you have it on streams, please post the links.

  8. habsfansince91 says:

really? I thought everyone loved “Jeux D’extremes d’été”!

  9. _Habsoloutly_ says:

Whats so hard about it? I have it on two different channels.

  10. andrewberkshire says:

No Question, it makes no sense not to televise it.

  11. andrewberkshire says:

Videotron digital cable, I refuse to deal with bell, the literally stole money from me.

  12. Keith says:

    What a horrible pp.

  13. Beaco says:

Do you have Bell sattelite? 434

  14. zozotheclown says:

Seriously, I’m 10000% sure if RDS telivised this game it would get better ratings then whatever is on now.

  15. fuhgawz says:

man this is going to be a fun season — i feeeeeeeeeeeeel it

  16. Beaco says:

    Let’s go, boys!

  17. andrewberkshire says:

I can’t believe it’s so hard to see a Habs game. Absolutely ridiculous.

  18. habsfansince91 says:

Tinordi skates really well for his size.

  19. Beaco says:

    Man, Spacek…

  20. Bryan says:

    Negative on both.

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  21. Beaco says:

He’s a good looking man, but I just don’t get down that way.

  22. SeriousFan09 says:

Good for Ben, time he showed something with the big team.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  23. Keith says:

Maxwell House!!! Good til the last drop!

  24. showey47 says:

woohoo ben maxwell. Thought pouliot was going to get called for interference though.

  25. oshawahabsfan says:

Site’s not working, who overloaded it

  26. quentin_stuckley says:

did i hear palushaj’s name with cammy and pleks?  i thought pouliot was playing with those to guys.

  27. habsfansince91 says:

if you guys have bell it’s on channel 434

  28. Beaco says:

Centre Ice is working! 434 for bell subscribers!

  29. andrewberkshire says:

Yeah but it was the bell centre feed, this game isn’t at the same place. I tried the link and it’s useless tonight.

  30. Keith says:

Yes, it was War Hero I believe who found it.

  31. scrowe21 says:

  35. Shiloh says:

Didn’t somebody find a stream at canoe.ca last night?

  36. Bryan says:

I signed up for an account there… now what?

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  37. Keith says:

    I’ll give RIS another chance.

  38. showey47 says:

Gotta agree with you on the crazyhorse. If you like the “scenery” during the day,you should see it at night.

  39. quentin_stuckley says:

“habs fans booed.”  nooooo, you don’t say.

  40. scrowe21 says:

Am I missing something? When I click on the games theres nothing there but a “premium” or “deluxe” button

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  41. Mike Boone says:

Gotta see what Pouliot can do with talented linemates

  42. scrowe21 says:

    Still looking for one..

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  43. HabsProf says:

Wow!  Redden on waivers.  There was a time when I thought he would be a regular Norris candidate.

“Deserves” got nothin’ to do with it.

  44. oshawahabsfan says:

Anyone have a free stream? haha

  45. Habscore says:

Anybody tried watching a game on a Blackberry?? I’m desperate but don’t want to pay hundreds for my data usage

  46. petrov14 says:

    Thats going into favorites  😉

Just like Price, were it not for bad luck, they’d have no luck at all…

  55. Chuck says:

Wow, that must have sucked! The ball hopped over his foot just as he was about to kick it!

  56. Bob_Sacamano says:

    I wouldn´t mind a good Paul Robinson night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB2Q7aUYdQs&feature=related

  57. Steve in Kingston says:

Price:  Never in the history of this franchise has so much been given for so little.

  58. Bryan says:

Uhhh… I assume you mean the fact that we wasted a high draft pick on him, in which case, I can think of many, many examples to refute that.

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  59. diehardhab says:

    Doug Wikenheiser

The torch be yours to hold it high!

  60. Rob says:

you dont think he has been held accountable for that largely one sided perspective?  I would argue, never in the history of this franchise has one player been turned on so quickly.

  61. Captain aHab says:

Hoping the team plays as they have for the last game and a half and to see some of the kids shine. Anybody else feeling bad for Desharnais? On any other franchise not currently laced with smaller players, he would already be up.

  62. RS says:

Exactly, the Habs can’t afford to dress another smurf. With another team he might have a shot, but even elsewhere he would have to convince a lot of sceptics.

  63. JF says:

Is anyone showing the game tonight?

  64. Matt_in_TO says:

Just RIS as far as I know and they don’t really show the game.  Hopefully we’ll luck out with a good stream like WarHero found last night.

  70. Dust says:

    Fantasy Hockey…I’m in

  71. SlovakHab says:

    Price Price Price

  72. CharlieHodgeFan says:

Who is this “Price” fellow of whom you speak?

    Coping mechanisms are good things.

  73. Greg says:

Price Price Price. More on Price. It’s so hard to find an article about Price these days. I will tell you this, I will love Price forever or until he lets in a goal during the 1st period of a pre-season game, whichever comes first. If he does let in a goal though, I’ll boo him and hope that we trade him and a 2nd round pick for Derek Boogaard.

“I lined up next to him at a faceoff, looked over and said “Hi Rocket”. All he did was growl.”

    -Gordie Howe

  74. Itsik says:

I just order RIS hoping to see the game tonight… What do you mean it’s not in full… They just show highlights?

  75. ZepFan2 says:

Worse. They cut to commercials during a rush. They also have two guys in studio that they cut to during the game.

    Absolutely aggravating!

After admiring the Stanley Cup: “This is the only thing that has seen more parties than us.”
    – Steven Tyler

  76. Shiloh says:

Quickly? Three years of suckitude later the natives are getting restless for a real goalie.

  77. Chuck says:

Three years? Care to review his stats and come back with a more accurate description?

  78. K-hab25 says:

What a joke!! Most of the douchebags against him, have been since Huet got traded his rookie year.

  79. RGM says:

Since when do facts have to get in the way of a good argument? LOL

    Go Habs Go!

  80. showey47 says:

Come on chuck, everybody knows according to the mayans calender the only date that matters for goalie success is anything after january 1st 2009 :)

  81. fuhgawz says:

didnt see the goal was it soft or the usual Price luck?

  82. Beaco says:

If it wasn’t for bad luck, wouldn’t have no luck at all…

  83. Beaco says:

    “Born under a bad sign”

  84. Chuck says:

I’m watching the game on RIS. What’s with the fake crowd noise that they’ve got mixed in with the live audio at the arena? Is this an Ottawa thing?

  85. habs-hampton says:

RIS is TERRIBLE!  I still can’t figure out why they don’t show the whole game???

  86. RS says:

If Price was playing in some southern US city, he’d have a bright future ahead of him. With the Habs, it’s going to be tough.

  87. quentin_stuckley says:

hailing from north carolina, i can tell you that’s true.  here, if the team sucks, people just don’t pay to go to the games.  they are fair-weather fans for the most part, so they wouldn’t drop coin to go to a game and boo the boys.  i mean, the canes won the cup five years ago, and they can’t sell out a home game.  that is, unless ovechkin or crosby comes to town, and even then i bet you could go to the arena and get tickets that day and have a good selection of seats.  kinda pathetic.  but then again i’m a habs fan.  one of a decent handful down here, too.

  88. andrewberkshire says:

Team B is a lot better than Team A for the Habs imo.

  89. notbigbird says:

    Was just thinking that.

  90. showey47 says:

Yup,team A is facing a pretty strong group tonight though. I think price will have to be their best player tonight in order to pull out a W here.

  91. SeriousFan09 says:

Subban being a puck-moving D tends to tip the scales, gives more offensive options and better PP control, Spacek can’t QB nor can Weber.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  92. Shiloh says:

A goaltender’s “luck” tends to be bad when he’s on his knees before they shoot.

  93. habsfansince91 says:

ya and when all those goals went in off our defenders skates last season isn’t unlucky?

  94. Chuck says:

Ever hear of the “butterfly”? I hear it’s quite the rage among goaltenders nowadays.

  95. habs-hampton says:

It’s not 1975 any more. ALL goalies are on their knees as player shoots.

  96. Shiloh says:

A million excuses for St. Carey. Maybe he should just stop the %$#$% puck.

  97. Chuck says:

If it was as easy as you make it sound, every game would end 1-0.

  98. gw says:

    It’s working.

Do or do not, there is no try.

  99. SeriousFan09 says:

    You’re awesome.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  100. andrewberkshire says:

    You are a hero!

  101. ShangaDoo says:

mann you beat me to it. :)

    Oh well, http://www.freedocast.com/jici36

  102. Shiloh says:

I can’t get rid of the double audio.

  103. andrewberkshire says:

Agreed. Spezza, Alfredsson, Michalek and Gonchar all playing for the Sens. I’d like to see Pouliot pop one.

  104. andrewberkshire says:

Spacek is a good second wave guy, Weber isn’t ready yet.

  105. SeriousFan09 says:

I think Spacek gets unfairly trashed at times and acknowledge Weber’s youth, but right now, one team has a much better option for carrying blueline offence.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  106. andrewberkshire says:

Concur for sure. Kinda surprised that Gomez and Subban were put on the same team since they’re the two that most often skate the puck in.

  107. quentin_stuckley says:

i don’t know if weber will ever crack the habs line up.  if marc-andre bergeron didn’t work out, why would i think weber would.  great shot, true, but no size, no defensive up-side, and that’s his primary position.

  108. andrewberkshire says:

At 21 Weber is already better defensively than MAB, and stronger. He’s a long termer, probably won’t make the Habs until he’s around 23 or even 24, but he’ll be good.

  109. quentin_stuckley says:

sounds fair enough.  i’ll give the kid three years.  better defensively than mab, that is indisputable.

  110. andrewberkshire says:

The Senators are such a lame organization. I’m still shocked that they claim Stanley Cup banners from Ottawa teams that are in no way affiliated with them. What a farce that franchise is.

  111. showey47 says:

Easy place to get tickets though.

  112. SeriousFan09 says:

I find it a laugher when I see Division and Conference banners from the regular season (like they mean anything), those Banners are just beyond pathetic and indicate how bush league the Sens franchise is, besides you know, having Gladiator guy open the game up…

Forget it, too lazy to find the feed.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  113. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

so I guess tomorrow’s game isn’t on any channel?

  114. scrowe21 says:

    That was sick

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  115. sidhu says:

End to end!!! Defensive play, skates like the wind, hard move to the net, and scores

  116. andrewberkshire says:

    Plekanec is AWESOME!

  117. HFX-HabFan says:

Pleks!  In mid-season form for sure!

  118. OneTimer says:

    F*%$ yeah Tomas!!! Wicked goal

  119. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

  120. Keith says:

    So Pleky scored eh?

  121. SeriousFan09 says:

    Tomas Effin’ Jagr!

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  122. Chuck says:

If only I had seen it! RIS sucks!

  123. sidhu says:

Ole Ole chant – music to my ears

  124. sidhu says:

JG coming to his boy’s defense!

  125. showey47 says:

    great save by gorges.

  126. OneTimer says:

    he’s got his bro’s back

  127. crabvader says:

Anyone have a stream of the game? Much appreciated.

  128. SeriousFan09 says:

Moen sticking up for his guys in pre-season, good to see.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  129. sidhu says:

Here you go Weber, a 5 on 3 – perfect time to show your stuff.

  130. Habscore says:

What a bunch of great leaders we got in this team!! Love my boys

  131. Keith says:

    Neil is such a douche.

  132. scrowe21 says:

Moen / Neil was a draw..wish Moen woulda connected with that overhand right after he ducked

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  133. sidhu says:

Come on Spaceman, a shot from the point with no one in front?

  134. scrowe21 says:

    Lol what a weak call..

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  135. quentin_stuckley says:

CAR-EY!, etc.  that’s good to hear.

  136. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Haha nice move Price.

  137. OneTimer says:

    atta boy price!

  138. sidhu says:

    Nice play Carey

  139. showey47 says:

That was pretty terrible but its one of those calls that usually get made when the other team is on a 5 on 3,

  140. andrewberkshire says:

    For sure!

  141. showey47 says:

My bro lives in kanata and last year while there on holidays we picked up 2 tickets and a parking pass for $40 on kijiji. It was against the preds though.

  142. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Halpern! POST!

  143. quentin_stuckley says:

i’m glad the habs picked up halpern.  one, he’s a righty on a team LOADED with left handed shots.  he’s dependable, smart, and can pot an odd goal every now and then.  anyone think JM will use him on the pp a la metropolit? (i do miss metro.  seemed like a good teammate.)  no real reason for the parentheses.

  144. quentin_stuckley says:

    what number is klubertanz wearing?

  145. ZepFan2 says:

After admiring the Stanley Cup: “This is the only thing that has seen more parties than us.”
    – Steven Tyler

  146. andrewberkshire says:

Is it just me, or has Maxwell realized his future is REALLY at stake?

  147. sidhu says:

Good period for Ottawa’s Z. Smith

  148. SeriousFan09 says:

Streams aren’t working for my computer tonight, stickin’ with CJAD radio since it’s been the most reliable feed for me. Picturing the game in my mind, which is about as HD as I get these days.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  149. Bob_Sacamano says:

Had problems too but this works well: http://www.freedocast.com/jici36

  150. Shiloh says:

Halpern can really skate – plays well with Max.

  151. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

Palushaj is a treat to watch!

  152. quentin_stuckley says:

i would like to see both he and eller make the team.  but then who sits?

  153. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Haha another pokecheck!

  154. ZepFan2 says:

Not ready for prime time: Weber

    Yup, agreed.

    Maxwell looks good though.

After admiring the Stanley Cup: “This is the only thing that has seen more parties than us.”
    – Steven Tyler

  155. SeriousFan09 says:

Weber’s a project player, but he should enjoy top-pairing time in HAM this season so it’ll help his development along.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  156. Bryan says:

Sigh.  That freedocast link is insanely slow.  Hard to watch a game that buffers every 5 seconds :(

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  157. andrewberkshire says:

Mine is streaming perfectly in good quality, might be your internet.

  158. quentin_stuckley says:

same here.  i tried to tolerate, but in the end went back to cjad, hence all the questions of visual origin.

speaking of question:  price wandering out, quote from moffitt, “no man’s land.”  how far?  past the face off circles?

  159. oshawahabsfan says:

Yeah I know, back to CJAD for me, rather that than the feed stopping every ten seconds

  160. quentin_stuckley says:

    thanks sir.

  161. Shiloh says:

Crazy action! We could have been called for a couple – they looked worse than our last penalty.

  162. scrowe21 says:

I dunno how Price saved that one….risky move.

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  163. Habscore says:

    JOSH GORGES for christ sake!!

  164. crabvader says:

Am I the only one getting EXTREME lag and choppiness on this channel?

  165. SeriousFan09 says:

Me too, I’m stickin’ with the radio tonight.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  166. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Working fine for me.. :\

  167. scrowe21 says:

Were actually getting away with a lot here for once…if this was against the penguins we’d have 3 guys in the box.

Gorges is doing great getting back to break up scoring chances

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  168. andrewberkshire says:

Gonchar getting beat by Moen, why does that make me feel so happy?

  169. Captain aHab says:

    Been pretty good for me.

  170. quentin_stuckley says:

doesn’t sound like this game has any flow.  so many stoppages.  let’s go habs.

  171. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

  172. oshawahabsfan says:

Even through the radio I can picture the ugliness of that goal

  173. sidhu says:

Good thing this game is in Ottawa.  Solid game for Carey otherwise

  174. scrowe21 says:

    edit* wrong post

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  175. showey47 says:

    Gotta have that carey.

  176. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Lazy move there, Price!

  177. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

    can we start booing now?

  178. quentin_stuckley says:

aw shucks.  confusion between carey and klubertanz?

maxwell with a penalty shot.  come on benny!!!!!

  179. Shiloh says:

Poor unlucky Carey!!! Aw poor guy. He was loafing and kneeling with Spezza in the corner. How was he supposed to know Spezza would shoot that darn black thing? Poor Carey.

He is a truly awful goalie.

  180. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

  181. scrowe21 says:

lol that was a garbage goal

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  182. oshawahabsfan says:

Damn, penalty shot’s gotta be a goal

  183. sidhu says:

    Nice pass Klubertanz (sp?)

Here it is, Maxwell — your time to shine!

  184. quentin_stuckley says:

    double shucks.

  185. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

  186. RGM says:

    Troll is trolling.

    Go Habs Go!

  187. SeriousFan09 says:

Truly, you add nothing to this site.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  188. Habscore says:

    This is BSBB

  189. andrewberkshire says:

Kneeling? He was standing up dumbass.

  190. crabvader says:

He’s a Halak fan, not a Habs fan.

  191. habs fan from stonyplain says:

you are a real piece of work you want auld to start he is keeping us in this game and want to boo give me a break

  192. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Holy crap!

  193. OneTimer says:

    nice move….goddamnit!!

  194. Captain aHab says:

    Spacek SUCKS!

  195. Shiloh says:

At least he wasn’t on his knees – he was on his ass for a change. Good deke by Foligno, but our guy just doesn’t come up with the big one.

  196. quentin_stuckley says:

foligno looks pretty good this pre-season.

  197. Captain aHab says:

I would easily take Tinordi over Spacek right now…pretty sure Price would too.

  198. andrewberkshire says:

He’s not even a Halak fan, he’s just a bitter Jack Todd fanboy who parrots everything that hack says.

  199. fuhgawz says:

    pound sand non fan

  200. Shiloh says:

Tired of you rewriting history, Andrew. He was on one knee – open your eyes. Price is horrible.

  201. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

  202. andrewberkshire says:

Every goaltender in the entire NHL aside from Brodeur hugs the post down on one knee. Your masturbatory material Halak does too.

  203. Shiloh says:

I think you need a woman – or a guy if that’s your thing. Calling me bitter and Jack Todd a hack is just wasting your emotional energy. You don’t have a lot of that to waste after all the Carey-loving.

  204. scrowe21 says:

How do people get away with this? buuuut if anyone says ANYTHING about Price everyone gets their panties in a knot.

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  205. SeriousFan09 says:

Well you are bitter beyond belief (while you defend Andrei Kostitsyn, who has been completely outshone by not 1 but 6 players who were drafted after him in the first round) and Jack Todd never adds anything intelligent to the debate in Montreal, just bitterness about Kopitar not being drafted and Gainey not doing things the way he wanted them to be done.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  206. Shiloh says:

Ah, but the others usually close the gap. As for Halak – he’s gone. I’ll take Mayer ahead of this puzzle they keep putting out there.

  207. andrewberkshire says:

You don’t know me very well, I’m getting married in July.

  208. Shiloh says:

There you go again, Andrew – rewriting history. Todd did not advocate picking Kopitar – and he has written that on more than one occasion. I did want to take a chance on the big Slovenian – but drafting can be a crap shoot. Price was taken too high – big deal, that’s water under the bridge. I would just like to see a good, solid NHL calibre goalie in there.

  209. SeriousFan09 says:

Then he’ll get blown out of nets because he has no experience beyond the ECHL, you’ll call him a hack and useless then cry for Petteri Simila or Karri Ramo. Habs fans booing their goalie out of nets because the next guy has to be better, rinse and repeat in the march to futility.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  210. Shiloh says:

Congratulations. Hope she’s as tolerant as my beautiful spouse. The rec room is wall-to-wall Habs stuff.

  211. andrewberkshire says:

You don’t even know who you’re talking to.

  212. Bryan says:

    You take that back

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  215. ZepFan2 says:

I really hope so. I find he needs to shoot more, especially on the PP.

    Oh God…

  217. OneTimer says:

god, and here we thought we had a good game for our guy…

  218. HabsfaninMA says:

    Price bombed.

  219. fuhgawz says:

why didnt he shoot right at him like our guy did?

  220. Bryan says:

Alright Price, I’ve been one of your biggest supporters for a long time now.  But for the love of god, stop a puck.  No more excuses.

The Habs are making me Bi-Polar.

  221. makka83 says:

Breath in, breath out. Now repeat with me… PRE-SEASON, PRE-SEASON.

  222. oshawahabsfan says:

What the hell happened, I left for a minute it was a tie game

  223. TOEmastro says:

C’mon Carey! We got your back (we have to dammit)

  224. makka83 says:

and the trolls are out in force..

LOL! It’s funny how many people on here have little brains…

  225. JVF says:

This overhyped goalie has just failed to impress me time and again.

  226. quentin_stuckley says:

well that period up and sucked.  i hope carey finishes this one, he was getting it done until that spezza behind the red line goal.  maybe JM can light a fire under these guys.  calling it a comeback.

  227. naweed235 says:

CAREY CAREY CAREY CAREY  ( we need to give theo’s nickname to carey… 4 or more) …. the only weak link going into this season is what was our strength last year… GOALTENDING… SOB im pissed….

  228. Keith says:

I think Pricey’s confidence is shattered.

  229. 21BIGGionta says:

When do they start cuttin’ im getting impatient here. i wan’t to see a full team. By the looks of it.. Maxwell and pleks and gorges are the only guys playing,

I hope the fans back in Montreal realize…THIS IS PRESEASON.

Yes price should have had one of those goals.. but whats with all the breakaways

i can’t handle Spacek! i hope he’s a healthy scrath every single game.

  230. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

2-1 Habs before I started watching.

Now it’s 4-2. Safe to say I should stop watching?

  231. makka83 says:

The ONLY weak link is our goaltending… LOL!

Your only weak link is your brain!

  232. Chuck says:

I’m still having a tough time figuring out the Ottawa penalty shot call. The reason what Butler didn’t get a shot away on the breakaway was because the puck was bouncing after receiving the pass and hopped over his stick, not because of anything that Georges did.

  233. TOEmastro says:

the paperwork is in the mail to have your TV blown up

  234. fuhgawz says:

ah the fans and media have the sky falling again during the PRE season …… sometimes i wonder why i love this team cause the “other” aspects that go along with being a fan with this club is pathetic

  235. JVF says:

6 shots, 3 goals. When does this guy start to take the game seriously?

  236. 21BIGGionta says:

i love how we’re giving up on our goalie after two pre-season games.. Its gonna be a long year for you trolls. just calm the down chill out! why do we overreact… ahhh we the fans are the best and worst thing about this franchise

  237. TOEmastro says:

So it looks like we’re cutting Team A this year

  238. mastro18 says:

this is why we have pre season so we can work out the kinks price will learn from these goals and he will only get better … plus the d is playing shiet.

  239. naweed235 says:

well atleast the most obvious weak spot is our goaltending…

    p.s GFYS dummie

  240. JVF says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but pre-season, regular season or post-season, the job is still to STOP pucks from going in the net, no?

  241. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

Horrible D – letting in a breakaway every minute but Price is not helping either. He was solid until the 2nd period started, but he was weak in period 2.

    Hope it’s just rust.

  242. habs-hampton says:

    Chill, people!

  243. scrowe21 says:

    Hahaha…aside from Pleks

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  244. 21BIGGionta says:

you’re right but pre-seasons means the guys in front of the guy whos job is to stop pucks, are not the guys in regular season or post-season.. think of that do you think there would be this many breakaways with 5 vet defence and pk? i dont think so.

  245. makka83 says:

You’re right. However, getting mad about it is DUMB because it doesn’t matter. So complain all you want, the only person suffering and will continue to suffer is YOU!

  246. JVF says:

Not everyone who critizes Price is a troll. Some people just have their eyes open. I’m not pro or anti Price, I don’t give a s**t either way, I just want a goalie who stops giving up at least one soft goal every game. This is ridiculous.

  247. OneTimer says:

OK, Mr 3 Carey-bashing-posts-in 4 minutes, we get it. you may shut up now, unless you have something new to add

  248. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

I’m beginning to wonder if Price will win a game this year?

and is he ever going to stop a breakaway?

    habs are in deep trouble.

just as I thought. NO GOALTENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can we make Sanford our #1 goalie?

  249. naweed235 says:

the problem with price is what HAS ALWAYS BEEN…. he can play a game so spectacular like you’ve never seen a goalie play until he gives 1 or two bad goals that have no buisness going in and its all downhill from there…  and sadly this is not a problem that training and practice can solve… its all mental and from the looks of it he aint got it… preseason or regular season dont matter… a game is a game

  250. andrewberkshire says:

One of the goals was bad, but he stopped I think 3 breakaways this period, let 2 in. Sucks but if you’re going to let that many breakaways go a few will go in.

  251. HabsfaninMA says:

Carey’s GAA will take a hit tonight.

  252. makka83 says:

The most obvious because you know nothing about hockey.. that’s the only weakness you can spot.. the obvious one…

  253. quentin_stuckley says:

    don’t forget cammy!

  254. JVF says:

Yeah, OK, but a shot from BEHIND the goal line?

  255. OneTimer says:

I think your posts-per-minute rate is ridiculous. calm yourself, hater :)

  256. 21BIGGionta says:

amen, at this rate Price will never come back after this season, no matter how well he plays. he’ll be leaving. The those trolls who are responsible will kick themselves once he plays super with another club.

  257. badbalance says:

And the job for Forwards is to make sure the puck is up front in enemy territory as much as possible. And the D’s job is to make sure the puck manned by the opposing team doesn’t get behind them for breakaways. Did you know that?

  258. Josh says:

Huh, Boone? First you say this

“Butler on a penalty shot. Four GA on Price … again”

    and then say

“Repeat after me: It’s only the pre-season.”

  259. scrowe21 says:

Just because people dont like the way a certain person plays doesn’t make them a troll. Ive been a habs fan all my life, but its not like I have to like every single player who’s ever been in Montreal…. People on here are ridiculous. If anyone says anything about Price, that automatically makes them a troll, Halak fan, not a real montreal fan?

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  260. JVF says:

Guess who won’t be answering questions from the reporters again tonight…

  261. 21BIGGionta says:

    and gorges!

  262. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

so you’re telling us that Spacek and Gorges won’t be playing in the regular season?

and unfortunately Price will, aat least until management realizes he can’t stop a puck, or win a game, then off to Hamilton or another team he goes. ole ole ole ole!

  263. makka83 says:

Sorry not a troll.. you’re a spammer… google the word and you will understand.

  264. chelios_24 says:

Let me ask you a question? How many games has Price won since the All star game in Montreal? He sucks! Just admit it people. The Habs management are just embarrased and frustrated cause they can’t brain wash us. We are not dumb fans.

    ON a positive note…. It’s pre-season and it’s the 2nd game I’ve seen Rask play…and he’s been impressive. WOW…is he the next Dominick Hasek?

  265. chelios_24 says:

  266. habs-hampton says:

OK, so the Spezza goal was awful.  Big deal. THe pre-season is to get rid of the rust and the guys who aren’t ready to play at this level. The team from games 1 and 3 will contribute 1/4 of the regular team and the Game 2 team will contribute 3/4’s.

I’m not real happy about what I am seeing tonight, but the only peope who are happy are the bunch saying “I told you so!”. We really don’t need you guys around. You’re wathing tonight for rthe same reason a lot of people watch NASCAR. You’re hoping for a wreck.

Prediction:  Carey plays the 3rd and plays well, but I don’t see the team winning this game.

  267. HabsfaninMA says:

Come on man, Carey is a VICTIM…bad bounce, defensive mistake, penalty shot. How much more can the Fraudchise take??

  268. TOEmastro says:

lol, my point still stands… 3 of 20 aint great

  269. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    True, Andrew.

And what’s with Spacek? Tinordi looks better than him right now!

Well I guess there’s a difference. Spacek has a fixed spot on the team and Tinordi is trying to impress the coach and organization.

  270. badbalance says:

Well that’s not the case with you.,, You are part of the trolls… How about not posting 4 comments in the last 15 minutes bashing Price in different ways…

  271. Chuck says:

Problem is, it’s not Carey’s mental makeup that causes Spacek to play like a pylon or a questionable penalty shot call.

  272. 21BIGGionta says:

why are you posting. Every post you’ve posted so far has been contradicted. so stop posting shut off your computer, throw it out the window and go to bed.

  273. SeriousFan09 says:

Why don’t you grab a flight with Réjean Tremblay to go cheer for the Lightning?

  277. HabsfaninMA says:

Tukka Rask doesn’t seem to have any rust..

  278. Xtrahabsfan says:

I see the Price gestapo is so angry right now,it must hurt to be allways wrong…I hope Carey gets better but some of his Anglo fans arn’t worth a pinch o do do…they are the  Trolls!

  279. TOEmastro says:

Save% would suck too, good thing these don’t count

  280. Offensive DMan says:

    And don’t forget BASTA yesterday!

  281. habs_1993 says:

well, price may have had a bad period…but, this seems to be a better outing than the game on wednesday for sure. hopfully he can come back better even next game. But gotta admint, he should have had the 2nd goal…but the other 2 had really no chance on.

  282. chelios_24 says:

I think people who are read habs fans…that bleed blue blanc rouge hate Carey Price..and those that are fans of the CH but don’t really care are the ones saying CHILL out it’s only pre-season.

I have NHL centre Ice..I’ve been watching Chicago, Detroit, Boston, etc…and all their goalies are taking things seriously. Price is a bust…We need to find a number 1 goalie…he won’t last the season.. NO WaY…not in Montreal

  283. andrewberkshire says:

I think you nailed it right there. Most vets don’t really bring it in the preseason. Cammy is the same, he’s looked better because Plekanec has been on fire.

  284. notbigbird says:

Poor CP and poor Habs. It wasn’t that long ago that he was great on breakaways/penalty shots. But that effing All Star game followed by the Habs collapse of 09 followed by Halak’s ascendancy last year have totally messed with the guy’s head. He’s a mess between the ears.

  285. 21BIGGionta says:

wow, shows how much you know if you think Price can go to Hamilton. and Spacek shouldn’t play in the reg season and gorges wasn’t on for those goals.

  286. Captain aHab says:

    They’re not trolls….just ridiculously obsessed.

  287. badbalance says:

Guess who’s riding Carey all night long….

  288. andrewberkshire says:

Rask is also playing behind the best defensive team in the conference.

  289. scrowe21 says:

How dare you make a joke about the franchise….you silly little troll you.

  290. notbigbird says:

Feel free to express yourself should you ever find anything positive to contribute.

  291. habs-hampton says:

Then maybe you should go root for the B’s.

  292. habs fan from stonyplain says:

its only the preseason has carey been bad yes but he has played better today, do we want him to play bad in the preseason or in january, lots of players play bad in the preseason its not how you start its how you finish so stop the booing Jaro is not coming back, mayer is not ready and carey will be the starter we want providing all the bashers don’t run him out of town

  293. light_n_tasty says:

Actually, his GAA and save % will actually improve after this game.  Hard to get worse than the 8.00 GAA and 0.500 sv% he had coming in to tonight…

  294. habs-hampton says:

Actually, that was funny (even for a troll).

  295. quentin_stuckley says:

i’m holding out judgement on the habs until next thursday, the game against buffalo.  by that time the team should be pretty much solidified.

not that i’ll flush the season down the toilet if they lose that game also.  hell, i stuck with the habs through the lean, and i mean LEAN years (1995 – 2001), and if i can smile through that, i can smile through a couple of soft pre-season goals.  carey’s our goalie, ergo, he’s my goalie.  go habs!

  296. SeriousFan09 says:

Last game for Klubertanz I’ll bet.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  297. HabsfaninMA says:

A better outing? He’s given up four goals against half a roster of minor leaguers.

  298. makka83 says:

Think about it. None of these guys post until Price makes a mistake (which of course happens when you are a human being). Then they continue to post the same thing over and over. Then they do it again the next day and the next.

Of course, that’s not normal passionate fan behavior. In fact, that’s not normal human behavior.. Who does that? Who complains over and over and over and over about the same thing and then expect people to like them?

  299. quentin_stuckley says:

bingo!!  i hate the bleeding B’s, but there’s no denying that their defensive play is quite good.

  300. Offensive DMan says:

Probably most of them know very little about hockey, is my guess.  These folks get defensive and offended very easily, and won’t listen to a rational argument because they do not know how to counter it.

Hence the name calling you see here all the time.

  301. Offensive DMan says:

  302. SeriousFan09 says:

And that’s my first double for the liveblog this season, my over-under is 15.

  303. SeriousFan09 says:

Pretty much and the vets are feeling a bit cautious after the Mueller and Harding injuries, everyone’s sweating being the next guy to get knocked before the real games start. No one is going to throw too much into this and  I sometimes wonder if Hamrlik is really injured when he misses each pre-season.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  304. quentin_stuckley says:

how do you like your crow, with or without feathers.  he’ll answer the call.

  305. makka83 says:

Anglo? HAHAHA! You’re stupid and racist too? Should have expected that from a low-life.

  306. andrewberkshire says:

Almost all shots against the Bruins are from bad angles and far out. Julien is a brilliant coach. And any rebound is instantly cleared. Not to mention trying to pass through the slot seems to be impossible against them.

  307. Ali says:

New Jersey? Philly? even Pittsburgh are all arguably as good if not better than Boston. Boston has Chara for half a game, but Seidenberg, and Hunwick arent names that strike fear in the hearts of opponents. Try Pronger, Coburn, Timmonen, Carle Meszaros and O’Donnel.

Boston, this year they don’t even have Wideman. They will be weaker on the backend this year, but pretty powerful up front, even with Savard out.

Edit: and if we’re excusing PRice for being poor due it the exhibition roster in front of him, then give Rask credit for being excellent despite having a pre-season defense in front of him,

    Oh Captain my Captain…

  308. andrewberkshire says:

Considering Hamrlik NEVER gets injured, yeah him being out the last 3 preseasons is pretty funny.

  309. SeriousFan09 says:

If only he could hold on to those tricky 3-0 series leads…

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  310. quentin_stuckley says:

sadly, i agree with you.  too many times his name is coupled with unfortunate results.

sadly because i like typing that name.

  311. andrewberkshire says:

Boston plays 5 man defense. NJ used to be great but they’re not the same anymore. NJ traps the neutral zone, Boston masters their own zone better than anyone else. Pittsburgh is good defensively sometimes, and other times terrible.

  312. SeriousFan09 says:

Everyone loves saying his name, shame he just isn’t good enough.

Even worse? Tore Vikingstad said he was retiring from Norway’s National Team!

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  313. quentin_stuckley says:

i think this remark is the essence of the whole price drama.  it’s not about us.  it’s not about who’s right or wrong.  who gives a crap about that.  i don’t.  i like price.  i think he’ll be fine.  you don’t like price.  fine.  but to say i’m wrong about cheering for a player seems to miss the point of rooting for the habs, in my opinion.

  314. quentin_stuckley says:

a man can dream.  there’s still palushaj.  unless he continues his revolving into the penalty box.

  315. Xtrahabsfan says:

  316. RGM says:

It would be you that proves the Godwin Rule. Of all your brain-dead idiotic posts, likening Price supporters to Nazis is the most vile and repugnant thing you have done. It is offensive and revolting, and I truly hope that Boone, Stubbs, or one of the other moderators of this site see your post and take the appropriate action and ban your pathetic membership from this site.

  319. JVF says:

Tsk! Troll, hater, drunk, débile, ta mère, etc… Can you not voice an opinion here without being branded a traitor, an a** or a simpleton? And sorry if I type faster that any of you can stand it… I’m DYING for this guy to make big saves and I keep defending him, but sometimes…

  320. Captain aHab says:

He’s stopped three breakaways…why don’t you mention those?

  321. makka83 says:

We are voicing our opinions about you! We cannot voice our opinions without you complaining about it?

  322. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

    so here’s what happened.

Price let in a terrible goal from behind the net. that goal deflated the team, gave Ottawa momentum, and Ottawa took over. that’s what a goal like that does. it kills your team!

Price has killed the season for the habs! he won’t get better! he will remain the same. he’s history with this team. ok Sanford, come on down!

  323. quentin_stuckley says:

i guess since you’ve already predicted this season over there’s no need to watch the games.  look on the bright side, you’ll have plenty of things to do on saturday night until next october.

  324. HabFarmer says:

Not wanting to sound completely niave, but the whole team, and numerous individual players have been alternately sucking and playing well during the preseason.  That’s why they call it preseason.  It comes before the real season and usually involves players that won’t be playing when the real season starts.  Carey’s stuggling some, but most of them are off and on.  I guess I could tell everyone to chillax, but I think it’s gotten pretty far past that by now……… .

A man’s attitude… a man’s attitude goes some ways. The way his life will be. Is that somethin’ you agree with?

  325. ZepFan2 says:

Price has killed the season for the habs…

I nominate this as lunatic line of the night.

  329. HabsFanMTL says:

i gotta say, price has been puppy dogged thru these last 3 years, its time to stop making excuse for him. He’s not a little boy, he is a 23 year old man and he has signed to make millions of dollars a year. He may have gotten in shape all summer but what he lacks is confidence in himself and sadly, its not gonna happen while he’s in montreal. And don’t give me the excuse that its the fan’s fault that he’s playing this bad. Good starting goaltenders don’t use the fans as a barameter of how they feel or how well they play. Time to grow up carey and earn your money or else just get outta town

  330. Shiloh says:

OK – think I get it now. We can write that Spacek or AK46 or Hamrlik suck – or just about anyone else for that matter – but not St. Carey.

Well I won’t write that he sucks – only that his indifferent play usually sucks the life out of the team in front of him.

  331. TOEmastro says:

    Team “a” SUCKS!!!!! hehehe

  332. makka83 says:

    You get it now.. Finally.

  333. Captain aHab says:

After admiring the Stanley Cup: “This is the only thing that has seen more parties than us.”
    – Steven Tyler

  335. TheMock780 says:

Like many people here i’ve never been Price’s biggest fan, but it’s pre-season folks. Yes the Spezza goal was weak, but his team has left him high and dry as well on the other’s. The team is not 100% ready to go and Price was doing well before his team collapsed around him. Let’s also not forget he’s only 23 years old. Ryan Miller (you know, last year’s Vezina winner) didn’t get into the NHL until he was 25. The Habs rushed him too fast and are now paying the price (no pun intended). The kid is going to need time to round his game into shape.

  336. Offensive DMan says:

Until Price gives them the confidence that he is ready to play, the team will continue to not play well in front of him.  Happened last year, and will continue to happen until he changes that.

This is why they played so much better with the H-word in nets, they had confidence in him.

  337. JVF says:

True, he made a couple of good saves on the breakaways, but it’s the soft goals that get me… and apparently, get to him, too.

  338. SeriousFan09 says:

A pair of TMM calls, inexcusable Jacques.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  339. light_n_tasty says:

It’s just the pre-season.  Many coaches need some time to shake off the rust.

  340. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

Too many men for Montreal lol

  341. TripleX says:

Carey and his team mates recognize if he lets in just one bad goal he will be vilified in Montreal.  How does anyone perform under that kind of pressure?  Even with icewater for blood it has to get to you.  An athlete has to be relaxed AND confident in order to perform at a high level.  This is very troubling, and yes I realize it is pre season.  But what happens in the first home game?  We don’t have the luxury anymore of playing Price in the away games.

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  342. Flabadagub says:

Looks like its Habs lobotomy time already.

  343. vic says:

Price was brought up too soon if I remeber carbonneau wanted him in Hamilton. He was voted an all star which he wasnt ( I wonder who voted for him) left in night after night getting bombed then left in during the playoffs and getting bombed.Good way to bring up a young goaltender and help his confidence now home town crowd booing him,(Wonderful)

I hope he gets to hell out of town and away from this where he will shine.

  344. scrowe21 says:

    Lappys been quiet tonight..

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  345. sidhu says:

I’m curious — would anyone take Souray off of re-entry waivers (assuming he was put on) and put him in the lineup in place of Spacek?

  346. Chuck says:

Spacek is going to be seeing the number 71 in his nightmares tonight.

  347. Captain aHab says:

Spacek getting deeked out of his jock again.

  348. The Cat says:

    Right on target triple x.

[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.

  349. sidhu says:

The crowd is dead — for a Canadian market, this is pretty sad

  350. SeriousFan09 says:

    No, no and no.

I remember his defence, we want a sieve with a PP laser, we can re-sign MAB.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  351. sidhu says:

Three on one with Spacek caught. Oy Oy Oy

He’s had an underwhelming game to say the least.

  352. TripleX says:

I would in a second.  He has two big assets, tough and menacing on defense and has a cannon of a shot.

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  353. Captain aHab says:

I live near Ottawa. Crowd fits the population…

  354. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

    Good save.

Gosh what a horrible D. Time to make a few cuts.

  355. Mickeyy says:

Good Save on the 3 on 1!!!

    Saku you’ll always be #1

  356. Captain aHab says:

Right now, I’d take Matthieu Carle over him.

  357. habs-hampton says:

    Spacek has had better nights.

  358. HabsfaninMA says:

The D is the whole problem not Carey. Light ’em up baby.

  359. habaholic68NJ says:

Wow.  I know it is preseason but Spacek looks terrible.  Not to mention the rest of the D. Odd man breaks all over the place.  Poor price

  360. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

  361. SeriousFan09 says:

    Except he’s injury-prone and he’s a career minus player, 20+ G seasons matched with -20 differentials.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  362. Captain aHab says:

Tinordi should get an assist on this one.

  363. andrewberkshire says:

Team A is just terrible. 10+ odd man rushes tonight.

  364. HabsfaninMA says:

Note to all the Price lovers who are complaiing about the “D”: It’s just a preseason game and they are chipping away the rust.

  365. Shiloh says:

When does RDS next show a game?

  366. OneTimer says:

yuck, terrible play by Tinordi AND Carey :(

  367. HabsProf says:

I thought Spatch was supposed to be more comfortable on the right side – or is he back on the left tonight?

Oh, and so much for the team giving (on-ice) support to their goaltender.

“Deserves” got nothin’ to do with it.

  368. quentin_stuckley says:

i didn’t even know he was in the line-up if you hadn’t typed it.  been listening to cjad.  and they haven’t called him out too much.

  369. HabsfaninMA says:

    Plus he is SO GORGEOUS.

  370. scrowe21 says:

Gill has been out since the first period..spaceks having a bad night..gorges has been good..the rest, not so much.

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  371. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

Um, tomorrow I believe, against Minnesota. Gui will play :)

  372. Habscore says:

Senators big men are playing against our youngstersn who are playing their first time in the NHL…no need to panic guys..seriously..can’t wait to see the real team play

  373. TripleX says:

He is no defense marvel for sure, but I have always loves his toughness and willingness to go to the aid of a team mate.  I worry about his injuries though.  Other than O’Byrne and who knows if he even plays there is no one to put fear in opposition forwards.

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  374. HabsfaninMA says:

Note to all the Price lovers who are complaiing about the “D”: It’s just a preseason game and they are chipping away the rust.

  375. quentin_stuckley says:

carey should play with team b.  at least once.

  376. JSP1990 says:

Damn. The “D” Has been ROUGH tonight…..I feel really bad for Spacek, who has certainly seen better nights, and Carey, who should be dry as a bone right now from all the hanging out he’s done….

  377. SeriousFan09 says:

Monday against Florida, amazingly, they did not want the rights to St. Guimauve’s return to MTL.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  378. andrewberkshire says:

After Gorges I’ve found Tinordi has been next best. Weber, Klubertanz, Spacek and the rest have been pretty much terrible. Tinordi’s play is a huge positive though.

  379. SeriousFan09 says:

Boone, any word on Gill’s injury?

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  380. HabsfaninMA says:

Note to all the Price lovers who are complaining about the “D”: It’s just a preseason game and they are chipping away the rust.

  381. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

Oh, I thought Minnesota vs. Montreal was on RDS. My mistake, Shiloh.

  382. RGM says:

Just in case it was missed earlier, if you support the goaltender of the Montreal Canadiens, you are now dubbed part of “the Price gestapo” by a member of this site. That’s right, supporting Carey Price = you’re a Nazi.

Thank you, xtrahabsfan, for reminding me why Boone’s game blog threads for six months ended for me where the border for the Comments section begins. Absolutely disgraceful and revolting.

    Go Habs Go!

  383. andrewberkshire says:

It doesn’t overly matter, after this 4 games in 4 nights is over there will be a bunch of cuts.

  384. Flabadagub says:

Ey Gui! Qu’est ce qui s’passe mon chum??!?!?!?

  385. JSP1990 says:

I’m with you bud. That’s just terrible.

  386. quentin_stuckley says:

funny, i don’t see any swastikas on my sleeves.

  387. makka83 says:

Isn’t that the same as the Price haters (Halak lovers) do with the “The D plays shaky cause they have no confidence in Price”

It’s not that they just suck…

  388. Xtrahabsfan says:

RGM, for all the things you and other Price fanatics have said about me and others ,if what I typed tonite hurt …good!

  389. RGM says:

It doesn’t hurt me, because I’m a better person than you. You’re scum. Just some douchebag hiding behind a computer screen. But it is deeply offensive to a large number of people out there, particularly those who are survivors or relatives of the Holocaust committed by the Nazis against the Jewish people. To lump anybody on this website, regardless of which hockey player they like more than another hockey player, in with what Nazis did is despicable. It shows what kind of a person you truly are.

    Go Habs Go!

  390. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

uh 10 goals in 2 games. can’t stop a breakaway.

Price is the problem! so is the D!

  391. Xtrahabsfan says:

No RGM ,I’m the Jewish person and your  the Drama Queen Douch bag….And let me remind you fool it’s people like you who don’t allow other opinions in a blog site or any other form of free speech IN ORDER TO TRY AND BRAINWASH  OTHERs who truly act like Gustapo. Hope you enjoyed the game Fuc-r….

  392. RGM says:

You really are a depraved idiot. I have no problem whatsoever with people who disagree with me and express their differing viewpoints. If you want to post here, on your blog, on your Twitter, go scream in the town square whatever you want, go for it. “Brainwashing” others isn’t something on my agenda. Clearly, it can’t work with you given the absence of a brain to wash. What I have such an issue with when it comes to the Price-bashing here isn’t that people disagree with me, it’s that they’re being so disagreeable about it. People who come here for one reason only–to rag on Carey Price–why would I be favourable to them? The only time you see these people posting is if it’s anti-Price this or anti-Price that. I have no qualm with their right to be wrong and be rude about it, but of course I’m going to step up and defend the goalie for the Canadiens when he’s being attacked. And I am damn sure going to step up when an ignoramus like yourself comes along and out of the blue starts calling people the “Price Gestapo” because it reveals just how truly warped they are in their perspectives. In any event I am done with you. Done. You are beneath contempt, you do not deserve my time, and you will damn sure not get another moment of it.

    Go Habs Go!

  393. TheMock780 says:

It’s well known that goalies sometimes have to bail out their team during an off game, but the team has to return the favour eventually

  394. Offensive DMan says:

You’re right, but if he doesn’t gain their confidence, this will continue to happen.  I lived this, played defence, and saw that when teams believe in their goalie, good things happen.

If they don’t, less than good things happen. And you are seeing the D making goofs out there, are you not?

  395. HabFarmer says:

So, let me get this right.  It was Spacek’s lack of confidence in Price which caused him to cough up the hairball two games ago to give Bergeron the breakaway and the goal?  If Spacek had more confidence in Price, he wouldn’t have made such a terrible decision himself?

    I’m just askin…………. .

A man’s attitude… a man’s attitude goes some ways. The way his life will be. Is that somethin’ you agree with?

  396. Offensive DMan says:

I am not excusing Spacek for boneheaded plays, but you are on the right track, yes.

  397. ZepFan2 says:

    You were a coach?

    Bahahahahahaha…yeah right!

After admiring the Stanley Cup: “This is the only thing that has seen more parties than us.”

  398. Offensive DMan says:

Thinking your tag line says everything about you anyone has to ever know.  Haha!

  399. JVF says:

How about trying to answer people’s concerns in a reasonable,  albeit opiniated manner instead of calling them names or branding them traitors?

  400. quentin_stuckley says:

for the rest of the game, not that it matters too much, palushaj should play with cammy and pleks.  or palushaj with louis leblanc.  they should have ample time to show what they got.

  401. sidhu says:

At least Hammer’s contract will be off the books after this season; Spacek’s will be on for this year AND next.

  402. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

can’t we waive Spacek like Ny did with Redden?  then if nobody picks him up, stick him in the minors.

  403. danedmunds says:

everyone needs to calm down on the goaltending and make proper judgements after 10 games with the real D including markov

  404. TripleX says:

You think the fans in Montreal will give Price 10 games to come into his game?  You have more faith in them than  I do.

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  405. Harditya_CareyPrice says:

Don’t know why people are freaking out – it’s preseason.

San Jose is 0-2, does that mean they’ll be fighting for a lottery pick this year?

Edmonton and Calgary are 2-0, so I suppose they’re cup contenders..

  406. TripleX says:

The record is not relevant but the play on the ice is troubling.  If the team play and overall defensive play does not get progessively better as pre season goes on then it IS time to worry.

  409. quentin_stuckley says:

another give away.  spacek again.  yeeks.

  410. andrewberkshire says:

Foligno might be having the best preseason of any player in the NHL, and Spacek is fighting Price for the worst.

  411. Captain aHab says:

Spacek should just turn around and fire it at his own net. This is ridiculous.

  412. quentin_stuckley says:

    this one made me chuckle.

  413. notbigbird says:

    That’s OB’s job.

  414. showey47 says:

lmao,no kidding. He’s been god awful. Foligno alone made him look like a echler at least 3 or 4 times tonight.

  415. Flabadagub says:

    Ooh Spacer……~)o:b

  416. TOEmastro says:

jebus, no help on the back end… we need a no.1 D on team A

  417. Keith says:

Spatch is Brutal! Glad this is almost over. Poor Pricey, he’s cursed.

  418. SeriousFan09 says:

Where’s the Spacek that went man-on-man with Ovechkin until his inner ear issues? I miss that guy.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  419. scrowe21 says:

OMG Spacek is sucha Troll! Hes a Halak fan!

seriously though hes having a real bad night..

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  420. twilighthours says:

Through two games, as bad as Price has been, Spacek has been that much worse.

These teams aren’t fair, though.  Most of Ottawa’s roster players vs a bunch a MTL kids.

  421. sidhu says:

Spacek!!  Send him to CBUS or EDM.  I’d play OB full-time over him.

  422. andrewberkshire says:

Kinda the opposite of last night.

  423. coachdoug says:

Ouch!…Spacek is bending the pooch over tonight…May be time to head out to pasture for him…

Not the bounce back night CP was probably looking for…

Laffs had a better outing in their loss tonight…

Just Pre-Season…eveyone say it together and breath deep ;-P

“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”

  424. SlovakHab says:

    Preseason, people.. Preseason!

Chill down and have a cold drink – hockey starts in October.

  425. JSP1990 says:

I wonder i that hurt his play in anyway still….

  426. quentin_stuckley says:

any positives booner?  plekky’s goal?  first period seemed good.  but man did it get away from them.

  427. SeriousFan09 says:

With no Markov or Hamrlik, there’s no way to put two decent sets of D out for pre-season squads.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  428. quentin_stuckley says:

    word up.

  429. TOEmastro says:

he said it 3 times so it must be true!

  430. andrewberkshire says:

Just to bring a little humour to the room, NHL.com is claiming the goal that went in off of Niel’s skate was him taking a snap shot!

  431. sidhu says:

Not many positives to take from that one, aside from JG’s reliability and dedication.

    Spacek sucked
Tinordi held his own for the most part
    Weber did not impress
    Gill got hurt
Lindsay Lohan will send a full sentence in jail before Klubertanz plays for the Habs

    The Pleks line had flashes
Benny shows flashes, but only flashes
    Max invisible
    The Dumont line barely played

  432. mrhabby says:

Mike Boone…..gesticulating…new word for the day.

    a sloopy game who cares.

alfie a dirty little sneaky behind the scenes prick kind of player..sneaky little player.

  433. oshawahabsfan says:

Remember this is not the real team, not even half of it. The D is bound to stink it up, and the offence will be sporatic at best

  434. coachdoug says:

    Going to the fridge now…

“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”

  435. Bill says:

We should give Price at least twenty games to gel.

    Full Breezer 4 Life

  436. Born in a Bad Year says:

Could we bury Spacek in the minors like the Rangers did with Redden?  It is funny how all the experts say it would be the kiss of death as far as signing free agents if you treat players that way, but where is the outrage over the disappearance of Huet and now Redden?

  437. andrewberkshire says:

    Best advice of the night.

  438. TOEmastro says:

    this is funny

and by gel, you mean pine tar his jersey?

  439. twilighthours says:

I really want to love Weber, but it doesnt seem like he’ll ever be an effective defenseman.

  440. RetroMikey says:

Like I have said all along since last season, Weber is not ready for prime time in the NHL, a draft bust IMO.

Spacek is killing us and will for the next 2 seasons!

It’s only exhibition, but is the “franchise” really ready for prime time in the NHL as well?

“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “

  441. JSP1990 says:

    Disapointing that Dumont barely played……

  442. quentin_stuckley says:

maybe that 5 on 3 that the habs couldn’t cash in started the momentum switch.

  443. scrowe21 says:

Plekanec and Gorges played good, Palushaj continued to show his potential..great speed and some chances. Maxwell has been working hard.

My spinorama shootout goal with Cammy

  444. Keith says:

That’s what Pricey needs…a Goaltender Whisperer.

  445. twilighthours says:

It’s too bad you (and others) have forgotten how great he was in the playoffs.

  446. mrhabby says:

    good point..sather escapes again.

  447. JSP1990 says:

I would really like to try him at wing.

  448. mrhabby says:

  449. SeriousFan09 says:

Didn’t you also say Subban was an overhyped junior star we should trade before everyone else figures it out when the Habs signed him last year.

Weber’s a project player, anyone beyond a 2nd-round pick (and it’s not like 2007 was a fantastic draft year to begin with) is going to take time.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  450. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

remember, this is not the real Ottawa team either, but they still scored 6 goals.

  451. Shiloh says:

Don’t ever miss a chance to point out how “unlucky” St. Carey is, do you? It doesn’t matter how they’re directed on net or from where – they’re going in at an alarming rate.

  452. twilighthours says:

    Please re-watch the 2010 Montreal-Washington series.

  453. coachdoug says:

Remember folks…The “System” is still in pre-season mode…

Don’t want to injure the “System” before the regular season…

Once the “System” kicks in all this will be forgotten…

Remember what the “System” accomplished last year…

“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”

  454. mrhabby says:

    add maxwell to your list.

  455. quentin_stuckley says:

with the salary cap era, i think you’ll see more high price veterans going the way of huet and redden.  they are too expensive for a team to keep when the same result could be performed by a rookie for a fraction of the cost.

  456. habs-hampton says:

    My thoughts on the game:

    • Price looked good at times and bad at times, but overall, better than game 1 (marginally). As usual he is snakebit. Mayer player bettter, but had a better D in front of him.
    • Spacek looked old!
    • Louis LeBlanc needs to get stronger.
    • Max needs to play like he did in game 1 every game. His style does not allow him to take even a shift off!
    • Tinordi looked good at times, but just isn’t ready yet. (no surprise).
    • Palushaj may be able to help this team.
    • Gorges has had better games.
    • Cammy needs his linemates.
    • Maxwell made a step forward tonight.
    • JM needs to work on his math.

I can’t wait until we see a game with the “real” team.

  457. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

preseason or not, you still have to stop the puck. 10 goals, 2 games, both losses.

has Price changed since last year?  NO!

he doesn’t have the mental toughness or the mechanics to big an NHL goalie. he won’t last.

ok I ‘ll give him 20 games out of respect, then bye bye.

  458. oshawahabsfan says:

They had their best offensive players out there, we had half a line of ours

  459. mrhabby says:

oooops me bad…i was talking about reddin.. ur right spacek did play great for us.

  460. habs-hampton says:

Actually, that was the better part of the Ottawa team.  just sayin’…

  461. sidhu says:

Gorges has had better games??? What game were you watching, Monty

  462. andrewberkshire says:

He was great, and it’s preseason now. Vets around his age usually don’t give a crap about preseason and it shows, but its definitely frustrating how bad he’s been.

  463. quentin_stuckley says:

it couldn’t hurt to try it out.  maybe JM will read this and at least think about it.

  464. Shiloh says:

    Snakebit? By the vicious sieve-adder?

  465. andrewberkshire says:

When did I say anything about Price? I was laughing because a shot off a skate isn’t a snap shot. You’re the one who only ever posts about Price. I post about all sorts of things on this site, because I’m not a troll like yourself.

  466. RetroMikey says:

Wrong guy, but aren’t you the guy from Brantford who doesn;t give a squat about the Baby Habs in Hamilton and their developemnt  and only concerned about the the NHL team?

Have to disagree about your analysis of Weber, it’s going to make it or break it for him this season.

“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “

  467. TripleX says:

Excellent proposal.  I always thought if Streit could make it work how about Weber?

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  468. oshawahabsfan says:

The “System” will not be in game shape yet

  469. Chuck says:

Spacek has been brutal in his two games, but he’ll gear his game up and be better in time for game 1 of the regular season.

  470. JSP1990 says:

Lol. But seriously, he has a cannon for a shot and seems tohave good offensive instincts. I mean it. Try Weber at RW.

  471. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

I’m so f***** tired of people making excuses for Price!

he’s awful!  I wish the Price lovers would see reality- HE’S NOT AN NHL GOALIE AND NEVER WILL BE!!!!!!!

  472. TOEmastro says:

Skynet was a system… lets not forget what happened there

  473. Captain aHab says:

I’d like to see Leblanc get a shot with better linemates before being sent down.

  474. Shiloh says:

Ah – the “troll” accusation. It’s an honour to have you call me that because it shows that you have no argument for just how bad this goalie really is. Watch the game without your Carey love-glasses.

  475. Chuck says:

“Jm needs to work on his math”

  476. SeriousFan09 says:

I like watching the Bulldogs, but I also know the Bulldogs are a conduit for the Montreal Canadiens. I know what happens when prospects are rushed. Max-Pac with 1 year of NCAA and half a season of AHL? Mistake. Guimauve skipping the Hammer? Crybaby attitude and marshmellows between the ears aside, still a mistake. SK with half a year in Hamilton? Oh that was a mistake. Price? Should’ve spent 07-08 with the Dogs as well.

I’m all for prospect development, I don’t think anyone should be rushed and I was arguing with people here for half the damn 09-10 season to NOT rush PK up, not to talk about these crazy Markov trades and drop it all on Subban’s head to carry offence and QB the PP unit. Weber, who knows, Mark Streit took to his mid-20s to make the NHL.

  477. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

could we do the same for Gomer? 7.3 mil we can’t afford on a perrennial 12 goal scorer.

just waive him, and stick him in Hamilton where he belongs.

  478. Bill says:

I think “The System” got traded to St. Louis.

    Full Breezer 4 Life

  479. quentin_stuckley says:

agreed.  i preface this by informing i only heard the game.  BUT, i didn’t hear his name coughing up the puck.  i DID hear him make a save on spezza in the crease off a rebound.  i’m not too concerned about gorges.  he’s pretty solid to me.

  480. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

    sorry, Halak is gone!

  481. JasonM says:

I laughed hard at this one, nice one. :)

  482. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

but we had the thoroughbred in nets.

  483. Chuck says:

    Calm down, Mr. 10 Hours.

  484. Gorges_the_great says:

You can’t predict the regular season from what happens in the preseason. BUT it is an indicator (we can argue about degree).

Our record means nothing but the play is enough to make even some die hard fans nervous about the season.

There’s time to turn things around but right now I’m feeling mighty nervous about Price and Spacek.

    Go Habs Go!!

  485. quentin_stuckley says:

whatever helps.  we should start a foundation.  i’ll chip in.  if my allegiance is in question know it’s for price.  go habs!

  486. Gorges_the_great says:

  487. andrewberkshire says:

Again, you go straight to Price instead of acknowledging I wasn’t even talking about him. You’re trolling for a response.

  488. habs permanent bandwagon fan says:

you can chill with the thoroughbred.

I actually think “the thoroughbred” is an appropriate name, but soon we’ll be putting him out to pasture for good!

  489. WestHab says:

CP needs to take respondsibility.  It seems that he is always very defensive about his performances. If he does not aknowledge his poor play he’ll never become an effective NHL player. It’s not the fans or media’s fault that the puck goes in. He needs to look himself in the mirror and be his owm critic.  Having said all this I still would not boo the guy.

  490. SeriousFan09 says:

CBC is streaming VAN-ANA pre-season match, Koivu, Selanne and Ryan in the lineup for Ducks.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  491. quentin_stuckley says:

i think price is playing a rope-a-dope move in the preseason.  let the league think he’s swiss cheese, then when the regular season starts, straight gouda baby!

  492. oshawahabsfan says:

I’m flipping between that and the UFC ppv

  493. oshawahabsfan says:

    Haha nice straight gouda

  494. WestHab says:

    just like a pool hustler…eh? I pray you’re right.

  495. Gorges_the_great says:

    I love it!

  496. Gorges_the_great says:

    I love it!

  497. SeriousFan09 says:

    Haha, nice.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  498. quentin_stuckley says:

maybe.  all kidding aside, for me, i don’t mind that gomez doesn’t score goals.  in my opinion, that’s not the strength of his game.  he’s a playmaker, he makes it so that others score the goals.  granted his salary is evidence of a time long gone, pre-salary cap.  is he worth that?  i think we all know he’s overpaid, but i think he’s a good competitor and a more than competent passer.  if gio nabs 30+ goals for the habs, then gomez is doing is job.

i am ready for the retaliation.

  499. RetroMikey says:

I agree with you 100% on your post but Weber is not ready and there will be other draft prospects ahead of him.

Too many Gainey supporters here, but he should take the fall for the development of Price. Pacioretty and Latendresse to name a few.

But  we traded the wrong  goalie IMO to make Gainey look good.  Big mistake.

“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “

  500. saskhabfan says:

You have the right guy. I remember retro saying the same thing also. He’s just back peddling because he got another of his “mark my words” predictions wrong, yet again. If he actually has a job,i can only hope its not giving financial advice or sky diving lessons.

  501. SeriousFan09 says:

I don’t think Pacioretty was really intentional, he became a victim of spot-filling when the injuries knocked around the 08-09 squad and they were just grabbing any warm body from HAM who had some points. I think the 10-11 season in Hamilton will do him a ton of good.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  502. RetroMikey says:

And the frosh likes to follow me around on this site as always to get the last word.

You’re messing with the wrong guy in Hamilton, be warned.

  505. andrewberkshire says:

Remember that time you claimed Leafs would finish ahead of the Habs like 5000 times? Don’t pretend you know anything about hockey.

  506. TripleX says:

What is your problem dude?  What did I say that warrants an attack?

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  507. andrewberkshire says:

An attack? That was no attack, that was me just reminding you how terrible you are at predicting anything, and if you say a certain situation is cause for worry there’s a 99% chance it’s not.

  508. TripleX says:

As Carey Price so eloquently stated:  ” some people really need to chill”.

    ‘Cogito ergo doleo’

  509. SeriousFan09 says:

Andrew, save it for a real argument please. No need to antagonize in pre-season on a pretty minor comment.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

    But Spacek… NO EXCUSE…

  513. TOEmastro says:

I LOVE Spacek interviews… he’s hilarious, like clown funny

  514. The Nut says:

Defence was absolutely terrible tonight. Spacek was bad and playing with 5 defence for the majority of the game in the preseason has to be hard on everyone.

I was at the game and we looked horrible but playing against a virtually full sens team is how we should have looked with only a few guys in the lineup. 4 more pre season games so everyone relax and realize when the season starts for real.

  515. tony d says:

I had a feeling that once that fluky goal went in off of Price’s leg, things would start getting bad. Then after being undressed with 2 back to back goals, it was g’night Carey. I’m willing to excuse these 2 losses and rack it up to pre-season rustiness but he better bring his ‘A’ game when we play the Leafs on opening night, or he’s got some esplainin to do, chill or no chill.

  516. OneTimer says:

    I approve of your comment

  517. Yeats says:

Glad me and the wife went to see Wall Street II. Just looking at the score I gather it was a tough night for The System.

  518. quentin_stuckley says:

i know this is a habs post site and all, but how was wall street II.  i liked douglas in WSI, and i was apprehensive about dropping dime on a movie that i might not like.

just to keep the hab vein going: what’s the over/under on avitsin playing tomorrow night?

  519. TOEmastro says:

he’s over exposed and under played

  520. Yeats says:

I enjoyed it. It’s pretty timely, as was the original when it came out.

  521. quentin_stuckley says:

yeah, that totally let the wind out of the sails for the habs.  after that, jason spezza’s (wonder if they’ll give him a break in ottawa this year) very low percentage shot on goal goes in off carey’s foot, and the momentum switched so fast that i thought i heard a sonic boom.

  522. quentin_stuckley says:

let’s tell him how pretty he looks.

  523. Yeats says:

Is it really true that the NHL has adopted a “mercy rule” for preseason games where they go to running time whenever a team gets a five-goal lead?

  524. ooder says:

you know i heard the score 6 -2 and i was just like wtf price.

i didn’t get to see the game because i had a ball hockey game of my own.

then i saw the replays.. and even though the first sepzza goal was very weak..

    the defense was soooo bad

i mean.. i saw cooommmon.. poor guy lol

    88 is the new 23

  525. showey47 says:

No doubt the first spezza goal was weak. He was so left out to dry afterwards by some of the worst defensive play i’ve seen in years, mainly from spacek.  But if he is going to be our #1,he still needs to make the odd big save. The number of breakaways and odd man rushes was unreal.

  526. Chuck says:

Unfortunately when the defence has as many lapses as it did tonight, the odd big save won’t be enough. On nights like tonight he’d have to have the best game of his career to salvage a win.

  527. HardHabits says:

So we’re back to the system and the gel period?

Auld looks old. Like maybe a candidate for waivers. Better to have Sanford as Price’s back-up and mentor. Problem is Sanford will out-duel Price. Seriously, sorry to bust the Price bubble but Sanford is better at this moment then Price is.

Not to worry. Habs’ll win the Cup with Mayer in nets in the near future.

  528. SeriousFan09 says:

Meh, Mayer’s a paper hero, wait till Petteri Simila gets over here from Finland! He’ll win it all.

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

  529. HardHabits says:

The next HIO factions shall be Mayer/Simila. Choose your sides commentariat. You my friend, have lobbed the 1st salvo!!! 😉

  530. Rob says:

Just for some perspective: last pre-season, the top goal scorer was Viktor Stallberg, the top point getter was Mike Comrie, and the top goalie was Chris Mason.

The year before the top goal scorer was Corey Perry, the top point getter was Andy MacDonald, and the top goalie was Michael Leighton.

My point?  I don’t really have one, other than that maybe those who are saying “it’s just preseason” have a point.  That being said, i agree that Carey needs to have the attitude that no goal is a good goal, given his current situation…fair or not.  Let’s hope he rounds into form by October 7!

  531. Gorges_the_great says:

Things could be worse. We could still have Komisarek who was -3 tonight.

  532. showey47 says:

Oh i agree, just based on lineups alone i pretty much had this pencilled as a loss unless price played out of his mind and got offensive production from everybody. I already knew their PP would kill us considering who they had dressed and who we didn’t have dressed. What i really don’t get is how price’s play is being so scrutinized from meaningless preseason games yet not one word about spacek. Who IMO has been one of the worst player in camp. Easily the worst among the players who are expected to make the team.

  533. Chuck says:

It’s because Larry Robinson wasn’t traded away this summer.  :)

  534. ooder says:

i agree whole heartedly that he needs to make the odd big save.. but in pre season it’s cool if he doesn’t.

i mean if this was playoffs or regular season then i totally agree with u.

    88 is the new 23

  535. ooder says:

considering how Spacek stepped it up in the playoffs after coming back from a pretty bad virus.. i think he gets a free pass in the pre season.

everybody knows what he can do.

Price on the other hand.. not so much

    88 is the new 23

  536. CharlieHodgeFan says:

We can boo, whine and moan, but Price is our goalie. It’s not up for discussion, as there seems to be no plan if he falters. Either he plays like this in the regular season, which we fear, or he gets his act together.

So we look to the positives as fans. How about those young forwards, eh? I bet they can score eight goals every game!

  537. HabsfaninMA says:

Jeez, how much rust does Price have on him?!?!?

  538. 4loorplay says:

carey price was -4….it is worse

  539. 4loorplay says:

to all the people on the price band wagon,,,,i have this bridge for sale..all you have to do is put a toll booth on it…imagine all the money you can make,,,now imagine carey as a superstar goalie…..same deal here

  540. showey47 says:

And there lies one of the problems. Why does one player get a free pass when another doesn’t? We saw this all year last year with guys like mab getting all kinds of ice time no matter how much he screwed up and obyrne would ride the pine if he farted on the team charter. Spacek shouldn’t get a free ride because he is a vet and is supposed to lead by example. Looking like a defensive sieve doens’t do any of our prospects any good considering he is being paired with tinordi. Who do you think would be taking the heat this pre-season had spacek been traded to us as part of the halak deal? Not price. Guess who it taking the heat due to the results of spacek’s (and others) horrible defensive play?

  541. Steve in Kingston says:

    Amen, brother.

  542. Danno says:

    Did you say TROLL booth?

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  543. Chorske says:

Haha, k, see, now that is funny

  544. HardHabits says:

I almost thought you said Hala, k, see now that is funny
