I have owned you left and right in every hockey discussion we have. ANd this is your “burn”. HaHa. Pathetic. Too funny that you have not been able to make one hockey argument to debunk anything I have said.
Yes AK is a pure goal scorer. Not many players have the kind of offensive talent he possesses. If you knew how to read you would see where I said he can be a beast or be MIA. And yes he has been MIA more than not lately, but on a team that cannot score, and with only Gio/Camm as other pure goal scorers to sit him is a joke.
Hockey For Dummies man. I told you about this a few games ago. Clearly you do not have a job since you have yet to purchase it.
I agree with you 100%. Having him playing center, even with lesser wingers, at the NHL level is going to do wonders for him. Sending him to the AHL is a ridiculous idea. And sitting today is a complete joke based on how he has been playing. Yes DD is a center but to push out Eller is a farce.
I agree that short-term, him on the wing would be better for points. However, if we look long-term, it would be better for hiim to keep getting experience playing center even despite the lack of quality he has been given in terms of linemates.
But when he plays center he is stuck with grinders like Darche, Pyatt who cannot score.
When he is on the wing, that means he will be playing with more skilled players, which means a better chance to see him shine.
I think the kid has been playing great hockey and playing wing on the top 6 or centering a bottom 6 line for now, he plays well and plays hard and needs to be in the lineup.
THe people calling for him to go to the AHL are clueless. The way he is playing, if he was centering Gio/MaxPac or Camm/AK he would be putting up big points. But on the bottom 6 the points are not there. BUT his play has been very solid. Points do not tell the whole story and the people calling for him to bei n the AHL must just look at the scoresheet.
If true, it is stupid. I understand a skill player, DD is entering the lineup, but the team has had trouble scoring and AK is a pure goal scorer. Let him play for Christ’s sake. Sitting him is going to do nothing in term of “waking him up” etc etc. He is who he is. Some nights hes a beast and others he is MIA. But he is a threat and needs to be on the ice.
It’s unbelievable, everyone has bashed Gomez and his lack of production all year (a lot of it rightly so), yet now that he’s turned his season around (3 goals and 13 points in last 13 games) he should be moved off his line to accommodate a 24 year old career AHLer? I really think some people just want him to fail.
In my ocean salmon fishin’ experience, trollin’ is just an excuse to drink beer while puttin’ around and bow-tannin’, every so often raisin’ one’s head, turnin’ around, and askin’ anyone who might be listenin’ if anythin’s bit.
DD is an afterthought. A call up that will have a very limited NHL career. Can he contribute in the short term? Who knows. But I have seen him on many occasions in Hamilton and he strikes me as more of a specialist and I dont see alot of upside.
What an Albatross that Gomez contract is. I see him as more flash than anything. He scores even less than Kovalev does and who thought that was possible.
I hope they come out like gangbusters and take it to the Thrash. The preview concisely defines the kind of team they are. The kind of team we would like the Habs to be like at all times.
Lets hope the Habs can put together a string of vicotories to get some confidence back.
James Wis-Bang will get a great welcome at the Bell Center today. He just might be the tonic for the back end that we have been missing. He DONE good his first two games on the road, but playing in the Bell Center will be a different experience.
I like trolling too. However, my target is pike and especially in the fall when the water is changing and they tend to get a bit more active. I like to use a Daredevil spoon. The red and white for summer and the yellow with red diamonds in the fall. How about you?
I have an idea that it will be a trade that no one considers…. I can’t think of a single deal on the market really with so many teams clawing for playoff spots and the draft lottery teams lacking appealing assets.
Leading point getter in the last dozen games. How many times did Habs score last dozen games… a dozen maybe? Gomez is still by far the worst signing since Laraque and even that is debatable.
Gauthier legacy for the habs, is to make them the smallest team in the league, and then change their name from the Montreal Canadiens to the Montreal midgets!
I cherish my memory of Mike Milbury proclaiming the idea of putting Byfuglien on D a stupid one and laughing at it.
Anyone else catch it? Priceless!
I love the story of this guy, people have been dismissing him as one dimensional for years and he keeps upping the ante.
Some of you like to whine about losing borderliners like D’Agostini and Sergei, how about Chicago ditching Byfuglien? They keep Campbell, overpay Hjalmarsson and lose someone who has to be seen a Norris candidate.
39% of TBL’s goals come from Stamkos/St. Louis right now, much like Habs have needed Price to be exceptional in their wins, TBL need those two to be superstars with perfect health to make it.
Habs also dropped 2 of 3 games against Toronto this season, doesn’t make them a good team.
Can’t believe all the “Will make serious noise” talk about TBL being in the playoffs with Roloson. The guy is damn good for a 41-year old goaltender but their D still consists of still-developing Hedman, good but overpaid Ohlund, Kubina and then Clark, Lundin and Jones as the rest of the core. Absolutely no depth on D if they have an injury either.
Their season is living and dying on Stamkos and St. Louis scoring about 100 goals combined. Injury to either and the wheels come off faster than a NASCAR pit crew could manage.
MB’s often quoted mckeen’s magazine had Festerling inside the Duck’s top six d going into the season. Guys like Fowler seem to have pushed him out. For the second year in a row they had nothing but praise for Wisniewski as a top d, but they always temper this with dicussion of his many injuries, including a 3 surgeries on his right knee. Hopefully, he holds up better than Markov.
Dustin Byfuglien was a 11th round pick in the draft for our Fantasy pool and the main reason I picked him was that he could bring PIMs and the fact that he is eligible to play bot h the Wing and Defense.
Little did I know that he would be a scoring machine. Seriously, checking his stats everyday, he’s a real beast on the ice.
I personally think that the outdoor game is crap. The camera angles were making me nauceous! and the conditions hurt guys like Crosby and Ovie. Just beacuse the score was close doesn’t mean it wasa good game. I am not looking forward to the Habs outdoors game. I think it increases the chance of one of our guys getting hurt.
Eller is right where he belongs. He would be physically dominant in the A and would learn little other than bad, short cut habits that won’t work in the NHL.
As for teams wanting DD, he’s not just a 24 year old minor leaguer. He is the AHL’s leading scorer. A team lacking play-makers and possessing good size and finishers might be very happy to pick him up.
I want all ya’ll that are going to this game to take it up a notch today. The team needs it now more than ever. I want to hear a constant stream of Go Habs Go all game. Anything less is unacceptable.
No one’s looking for a twenty four year old minor leaguer. He’d have to be lights out with the big team to garner any kind of return. Eller belongs in Hamilton, if only to get the ice time and hone his skills.
I wonder if Desharnais isn’t up for a little pre-trade display. Maybe a trading partner has said we just want to see what he looks like in the big show. With Pleks signed long-term and Eller showing he has the required tools, I just don’t see there being any room for him in the top 6, where he has to play. Even if Gomez is moved next year or the one after, there just doesn’t seem to be space for a player like him.
During one intermission Mario Lemieux was interviewed. he thanked the Pittsburgh fans for supporting the team during the lean years.
In actual fact the Pittsburgh fans DID NOT support the team during the lean years. They stayed away in droves.
Canadian fans did support the team financially, against their will, thanks to revenue sharing. That way they could tank happily, accumulate top draft picks, and rebuild, while Gary Bettman protected them from their creditors, and helped them extort money from the city of Pittsburgh.
Missed the first 2 periods (forgot about the afternoon time slot) Doesn’t sound like ‘les boys’ are into this game ,although the shot clock is tilted in their favour by a long shot, who else can PG trade ? & who’s available out there ? Habs really need that big forward.. it may be time to change Price for a big trade ,but what could you get for him ? or who ?
That entire line is playing perimeter hockey. Pleks is a good example. He had a chance to tuck it in short side, maybe get a rebound that cammy or kost could bank in. Instead he goes for the wraparound, which goes nowhere and the thrashers clear it out.
Anybody else think that a verbal message was given to everyone before the last game that their ice time and line assignment (including top line) is no longer guaranteed? Vets included? I find it odd that the team would suddenly find legs it simply didn’t have 24 hours before. I think that bringing up Desharnais, who is a threat to top liners, may have gotten the attention of a few players who were simply punching the clock.
P.S. The ” penalty ” on subban was pretty chincy to say the least. Its not an infraction worthy of penalty in an overtime period… and i use that word infraction loosely.
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“
Guy Lafleur.
Just because Pyatt don’t score Gomez doesnt mean he aint usefull.Hes not asked to score goals for us hes just asked to check and bring energy as a forth liner, which he does.He skates well and i think plays with heart each shift he’s on the ice.
That’s the way he’s always played. Very up and down. Far too inconsistent to be the big go to guy but at least he will give you 20+. Can’t say that for too many others.
I agree ManApart ,and i too have noticed last years frustrating tendencies now coming out again in Carey. He cant be tired, yet …it aint even half way thru the season yet. He’s confusing the hell outta me too.Is he great or is he a meh so so kinda i dont give a hoot i’ll play and try when i feel like it guy???Frig…watching this team truly frustrates the crap outta me.Not to mention bad refereeing on most nights against us.How many non-calls do we get and then next time we do it to them we get a call and penalty on us?It always happens.Im gonna freak out over this bloody team.Argh.
Also i believe we need a dude like John Leclair like in his 50 goal prime type….ya i know we had him then traded him…lol..BUT we need that type a dude to stand there and pot them goals and goals goals and goals eF*****KKK dam it PG make it happen cap’n’ ggrrrr
Price has to be accountable. He shoulders a large part of the responsability for the Habs loss as much as Pavelec does for the Thrashers win. To say otherwise is not making an accurate assessment of the situation.
It is not a question of earning anymore. Price is the number one goalie of this team and you play him as much as is possible. The back up goalie is there for just that.
True Bill, but i believe goalies have sorta caught on to his shoot quick when given the opportunity to score. He needs to add a few fandangles to his arsenal so he aint so predicable.Thats just my opinion.
I disagree. Price is not Marty F. You play Price 7 out of every 10 games max, not 9 of every 10. It is my opinion that if they did that the Habs would be ahead in their division and not teetering on the play-off bubble.
Its is unfair to blame a W or an L solely on one player in any game. If we hit an open net or bury one more of our 50 chances nobody is talking about Price.
Not true. I have been saying for quite some time that Price is being over-played. His numbers are atrocious for the past month. He’s been mediocre at best as of late. I am blaming this bad period of play on Price being over-played. He’s off his game. He hasn’t stolen a game since I can’t remember. He’s guilty of letting in goals that are not helping his team. Face facts. The L this game is on him.
The OT goal ws actually PK’s fault when he had to take a penalty because he lost control of the puck on boards during his O rush. He was completely out of the play and was too gassed to get back and hence hooked the puck carrier. Power play / goal / game over.
I thought Pouliot played a meaningful game on the DD / Darche line. But I still think it should be Maxpac/DD & Gionta.
I still think Gomes should center Pouliot and Eller.
With Wiz being a pretty tough customer I thnk Moen becomes expendable.
Your fourth line becomes Darche / Halpern and Pyatt (?). I think Pyatt is on the bubble. Looking for a fouth line winger with great skating, lots of energy, grit, excellent D and the ability to put the puck in the net. Got any suggestions? ( and no smart ass Laps answers back please )
So scoring 3 goals on 50 shots and missing so many empty nets is not too blame? Take off your hater glasses. If he has to steal every game for us to win , then our team sucks. Numbers do not tell the whole story. There is no number for defensive breakdown percentage is there? Having Picard and Weber as your last line of defense lately is not helping. Im not arguing that his play has not been as good as the start of the season. Im saying its pathetic to blame him and him alone for the recent slump.
They are playing Price too much. It’s that simple. Had the Habs played Auld more they’d be higher in the standings too. Price would be fresher. They’d have more confidence. Now they have to play Auld more, and they’ll win with him in. What happens to Price’s psyche then? Does he have enough mental fortitude to tough out a long play-off run? He wont have it if this continues. Bad management. Price is not Marty F. The bottom line is Price didn’t make the saves needed and let in too many soft ones tonight.
I like PK and I can’t wait to see what he has to offer when he hits his prime, but the facts are that he’s cst us a number of games this season because of goals scored after he made bad choices.
That penalty that he took in overtime was because he didn’t hustle to get back into position after pinching.
He’s too good for Hamilton, but he’s not ready for the show.
The only solution is to keep him up, play him and have the coaching staff spend a lot of extra time mentoring him, but we are going to lose games while getting through his growing pains.
Well the refs are happy the right team won and they called a penalty to allow them to win. They will not hear anything from head office now . If he had called the penalty shot or the high stick against Gionta the Atlanta GM and onwership would have called head office and cause shit for the refs. Always safe to call against the Habs because nothing will be said. The mdeia will not call you out and the ownership will say nothing and we have the greatest coach because he will not say a word. Refs always call against the Habs its always the safe way to go great job refs but really can you blame them. They make a very good living so call if safe Habs owneship wil never complain. Any wonder players don’t want to come to Montreal.
Wonderful Captin aHab……Iwould love to see that happen.I also saw the high stick plus alot of other non calls. I wonder why the refs have it in for the Habs?.Do they get a pay off for this? There has to be some reason for the missed calls…….GO HABS GO!!!Also ,we had 50 shots on goal where in the h… are the big time players, give Price a break he is tired put in Auld give Carey a rest to get his mind to-gether he is not there for some reason. It is not the number of shots on goal [HIGH & WIDE] that count it is the goals that the Habs have to put in the NET
If you get a chance to watch the play again pay attention to PK watch how slowly he follows the play on that sequence. He only turns on the jets when he realizes that there’s trouble which is what lead to the hook.
I’d like to see someone in the Habs organization go apeshit on the refs publicly. Get fined but facking lay into them. At some point, you have to call the bullshiot publicly because not calling it is certainly not helping. How can all 4 of them have not see the high stick on Gionta when the puck was right there? It’s not like Gionta keeps faking….
This was a helluva game, exciting to watch and plenty of positives. Our team never gave up and everybody showed up. They can only get better and better.
Wiz and the other youngsters brought a lot of energy. Our captain was captainlike. Who calls a soft penalty like that in OT?Heartbreaker.
I know that Price is our #1 but there is no good reason why Auld couldn’t have started today, He earned it and it would have given Carey some much needed rest. Price will be fine, he obviously has the skills but he is being ridden into hte ground
Once again, the Habs made an otherwise mediocre goalie look like a Hall of Famer. And, can this team finally win ONE game where it trailed going into the third period?!
I never did. I said this game he was weak and had he been stronger the Habs would’ve won. Its the type of goals he let in that lost it. I blame his work load. I’ve been saying it for a while he should not have played more than 7 of every 10 games so far. It’s that simple. Don’t confuse me for a hater either. My criticisms are clear and well founded when they exist. As are my appraisals.
based on the numberof games they played recently they looked very good…we are still about 4-5 upgrades away from being serious contenders…darche, pouliot, moen, pyatt we can keep one of these players but 3 need to be upgraded…we need one more solid d and one more scorer..
Missed the game, but from what It seems, Price was really not good. I mean he let’s in 4 on 23 shots and Pavelec let’s in 3 on 50. 50 shots is very good. Looks like Price is back on track to what he was last year. He’s been pretty bad for a month now. Something like a .890 save % since Dec 1st. That’s not NHL goaltending. I’m very confused with the guy. Thought he wasn’t very good, then he comes out of the blocks like a Vezina candidate, and now he’s worse than ever. We’ll see by the end of the year what kind of goalie he really is.
You may watch a lot of hockey but are obviously a poor judge of talent.Plavelec is an excellent goalie. Overall he’s 2nd in save % and 3rd in gaa. Mediocre yeah
I see Roloson was traded. Any reason why the habs didn’t try for him? I didn’t realize he was on the market. We need a GOOD backup so Price can rest, since he’s clearly tiring.
First and foremost we need to fire the Gainey-Gauthier incompetent duo and bring in someone who knows what they are doing. These guys have been here for 7 years now and the team is still a middle of the pack team. All those who can’t see this are completely blind and ultra biased. I’ve been saying this for 2 years now. Even with a new GM, things will still take a few years to get straight because of current managements errors. fire them NOW!!
How anyone can blame Price is beyond me. Yes he let in a weak goal and didnt play at the top of his game but Pavelec played unreal, the boys missed plenty of open nets as usual, and they quit again in the last minute of a period.
Moen or Pyatt should be the one in the box. Moen has done nothing for us all year. At least you can notice Eller out there when he gets a chance.
Francois Gagnon wants to break up our best line right now? Glad your only a writer bud.
From the look of things no one here’s really in the mood for this, but fools rush in…
Three out a possible four points earned, all points earned by coming back from deficits, opponents outshot by a 2-1 margin, looks like we’re turning the corner, and leaving the slump behind.
Most goalies playing in the NHL these days are pretty good. Where they get burned is on rebounds and turnovers in their ends. Both indicate the team is being sloppy, not the goaltenders. Luckily the NHL gamecenter will let you go back and see where and when each came about. Still it is easier to claim you team has run into 11 straight hot goalies, or that your goalie is a bum, than it is to admit the obvious.
Read my post and the facts in it. No comment, right? Because you can’t say anything, it’s bang on. So you revert to complaining about when and when I don’t post (which is not even accurate).
I watch every game, so its my opinion. He got us a win, and stopped a road losing streak, in my book he earned a 2nd start, if just to give Price a rest, whats wrong with that. Price wasn’t playing much better
I agree. It’s not like we play a wide open style where the goalie has to stop 40 great chances every night. We play ultra-conservative, and all we need is a goalie who doesn’t allow soft goals.
The soft goals tonight killed us, just like many soft goals in our losing streak. I have faith in Price, but I have to admit that he has been losing us more games than he has been winning us over the past month.
When was the last time he outplayed the other goalie? November?
Like the time that Therrien went ballistic on the refs for calling us a penalty against us. We need that to happen, so that they can assess a bench minor and have us be two men down in a crucial situation and really cost us the game or series. Let’s have more of that!
This organization is far too classy to come out and blame the referees publicly, regardless of how horrid they do their job. Leave that sort of bush league antics for Triple A baseball managers and Brian Burke.
Whoa slow down there with the positivity gumper. Dont you know it hate only after a loss around here? You gotta blame someone. Try Price, you ll fit right in. haha
I agree. Why can’t the rest of the hockey world see what is going on. Do they really think that the league isn’t pulling the strings to make sure American franchises that have a weak gate, do well on the ice? Talk about naive. Let me repeat…last year, Montreal LAST IN POWER-PLAY CHANCES…AND FIRST IN SHORT-HANDED SITUATIONS! The league hates us, and knows full well that we will sell-out at the gate and keep our mealy mouths shut in the G.M’s office. Boy…I long for the days when Sam Pollock and the gang would send tapes to the league.
Other way around – he was the original role model. Only shows up when the Habs lose, posts the same inane tripe, disappears on winning nights, only to return again at the first loss.
Well if that is what tony says, then he’s right. This management is responsible for the many holes and problems on this team. This is 7 years into their regime remember? if the team is still this bad, then there is no question they must go at once. If you can’t see that, then you’re part of the problem.
It’s not your fault that you never show up after the Habs win to share “the truth”? Weird. All the moreso considering that you freely admit that you didn’t even bother to watch the game. What a fantastically informed opinion.
This loss is not on him alone. What about all the empty nets and missed chances we had to score? How about Pavelec playing unbelievable ? To blame Price for this loss is pathetic.
have you ever seen a team soooo hard pressed to score goals? it’s incredible, 50 shots .. if we had one player that was big enough to play in front of the net and also had the presence of mind to put the puck IN TO the net , if we had onne of those scorer types there is no way this game even goes to overtime. our bottom six couldn’t shoot it in the ocean! let alone the top six. we have the great ability of making goalies look good on the stat sheet.. lots of buzz around the net ..no bang!
Also some one should talk to price about his happy go luck puck handeling. It’s unessessary and costly.
One more rant before i depart, I cant figure out for the life of me why you would trade your number one goalie for a prospect that you think highly of and then make him a healthy scratch? espically in an organization that has been in desperate need of a ligit big center for over a decade, i dont like how JM “coaches” the younger players on the team, it does not seem condusive to maximizing their potential..
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“
Guy Lafleur.
They’re similar players now that I think about it, except Wisniewski has more mobility (and obviously smaller). Haven’t had a d-man like him since Souray.
Yeah, an 8pm start in Finland. Great stuff. Dangerous for the workday tomorrow if they happen to score more than 4 and the elbow loosens up the GlenLivet valve pouring down the throat, but we’re ready to live with those small odds.
Good thing that Pleks scored to tie the game up. If they had been trailing after the first period, my wife would have quoted their comeback record, declared the game over, and presented me with the Sunday list of chores.
Thank god for Pleks. the Wiz is a weapon and sorry don’t blame Subban for laying out a hit on that goal. I great hit keeps the other team looking instead of playing ,his teammates let him down by watching the hit instead of skating.
I will give kudos and props to Benny, Spacecake, the Wiz and of course Plex.
Benny for playing hard and forechecking, Spacek for getting the puck out after the icing d-zone face-off and holding the puck with time for the Habs to make a good change, Benny for pressing some more and drawing a penalty, the Wiz for the pass and Plex for the beauty goal. Phew!!
People saying that that goal is on PK’s head aren’t watching the game. Desharnais and Darche stopped backchecking when the hit was made, they were both on Peverly at the blue line, then they stopped skating. Hal can’t cover that much ground and Peverly was covered when PK made the hit.
That was horrendous, if you honestly want to blame PK for that give your head a shake.
What’s odd is before he left, Halak wasn’t good on the breakaways either, he was great in the shootouts and Price has had some dazzling SO stops as well but neither of these guys can seem to reliably handle a breakaway, weird.
The difference between Subban and Spacek is that despite Spacek’s consistent giveaways – he’s an experienced enough defenseman to make the next best move and prevent a goal against. That’s why Spacek is +4 and Subban is -2.
So Im driving home to watch the game and listening on the radio en francais and hear that Desharnais steps on the ice, PK makes a mistake and Pewverely scores. One black mark against DD.
Just turned on the tv and learn that atleast we have tied the score.
The shooter always has an overwhelming advantage on a breakaway. The momentum of the game is with him and his vision is several steps ahead of the goalie’s. On a SO, both players are prepared so its more of an even-footing (in fact goalies have the edge because they have time to cover their angles).
Newsy continues to look good. Spacecake-Weber, however. Looks like it got fixed.
#46 looks AwaKe and involved. Maybe it’s a day-game thing. Is it possible he’s still on Belarusian time, you know, gets all teepee-teepee durin’ night games?
Thank Jeebus we have Plex under a long-term deal.
Waiver pickup Peverley is the NHL’s ultimate HabKiller™. I’m guessin’ a third of his goals have come at the Canadiens’ expense.
Atlanta looked a little uneven in the 1st. I expect a more coordinated, less opportunistic attack in the 2nd. Habs gotta keep up the forecheck intensity and stymy their transition. A little more finish around the net would also be welcome.
You know, this makes for dull commenting and all, but goals against happen. The game is fast and a series of small errors can add up to a big goal.
At the other end, no one ever seems to fight about whose pass three players before the goal actually allowed the goal to be scored, and why that was a heads up play.
Fans will count and polish the butt pimples on every mistake, but never seem to use their analytical skills to celebrate the development of a goal.
Scotty Bowman 101 when you have a fast skilled team do not allow the refs to fall for we are a big tough team so we can hook, hold and interferee because that is hockey. If you watched last night game or 24/7 you would see Bylsma and Boudreau getting on the refs. Anyone every see JM say anything to the refs any wonder we don’t get any calls.
You know what. You Price bashers don’t deserve to get to watch the Canadiens. Pathetic excuses for fans. Geoff Molson would punch you in the face himself. Try supporting the whole team just for one day of the year. Is that even possible?
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Just once I would like to see people get behind our players. Thats what being a fan is. Supporting your team. Not waiting for the first soft goal and jump all over him. Thats what the other teams fans are for. Its pathetic, and honestly its deserving of a punch in the face.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Most of us support them. Some just can’t get thru life without a little hate and you have to admit that sometimes these guys can be easy targets with their play. Like that 3 on 1 they just fluffed and a comeback by the Trash that almost goes in off our ouwn player. Whew…frustrating.
Way to go Wiz……took a little off and nailed his man Ladd right in the foot, and then an accurate one-timer to take advantage of the space he’d created for himself.
You know what’s sad? Our guy gets a stick in the face and 200,000 people know it should have been a penalty. meanwhile, seven of the nine Atlanta fans watching this think it was a piece of acting. Ah, the NHL….
Dose anyone on this site believe if a Hab player had high stick one of thier player there would not have been a plenalty called. this goes on and on and on what a joke.
Junior B goaltending. This is what he did for so long – weak goal after weak goal. Be a man Jacques and treat him like you treat the others. Bring in Auld.
The refs in this league has been scewing this team is this coming from higher up. Are you kidding me calling that penalty after what happen to Gionta. Not to mention the hold on the face off to allow them to gain control of the puck what the hell is going on.
Im one to not usually cry about officiating but that was BS, a weak call against us but no call on them in the last 2 minutes of the game, why do the refs look to always screw us
We beat ourselves today — Price not as sharp as he could be, Moen lost his check for the 3rd goal, Halpern gave up possession to lead to the 2nd goal, PK didn’t recover after pinching and took a call to lead to the PP OT goal.
JM needs to go. Habs are 0-16 when trailing after 2. Is that the bench boss not doing his job motivating his team?????
Plus: His “System” does not work with this team. They have some skilled players up front that are not playing to their potential, and are not putting the puck in the net because of this system strategy. ie. one of the lower GF in the league.
Like I said. They are playing Price too much. He should be playing 70% of the games at most. Right now he’s at 90% and the wear and tear is showing. I can’t believe how poorly the Habs have been handling what is probably the top goal-tending prospect of his generation. Deplorable really.
BS call on PK otherwise your right on, Price was not Pricean today. I know he’s the #1 but JM could have given Auld back to back and went to Price on Thursday, Give Carey some time off, I think he needs it
And once again screwed by the refs.Yup.I counted 5 or 6 potential 3rd period infractions when we were all over the thrashers including a high stick to gionta which no zebra saw, surprise ..surprise….OH but as soon as a little tug is on a thrasher player with a scoring chance its a penalty…in OT none the less. Thanks Zebras.Way to ruin a ridiculously hard working and should have been win by the habs cuz of your idiotic officiating.
Im so sick of this bull crap from the refs.Night in and night out.Always on the lower end of the PP opportunity situation. You wanna know why we are so damn good at the PK???Cuz the zebraas keep making us kill em off.Yet when we get high sticked ,held up …slashed ….u name it…there is NO CALL!
….EEERRRRRG im gonna go punch a hole through the wall now. Thanks for letting me vent.
Sick and Tired of JM standing there like a statue after every crappy penalty, mumbling to himself. Need someone with a little passion. Laviolet/Boudreu/Julien, etc., go absolutely nuts when the refs make a sh#tty call. Not JM he stands there like an idiot…
Too Bad, the Habs deserved better for their effort. CP definitely not the same shut down goalie from earlier in the season. Seems to struggle with less shots.
Price needs a break of more than a game. He is clearly gassed and while he was not at all the only reason we lost today, he was certainly a reason. JM has ridden him too hard and he is fatigued. This week should help him

Missed call by refs on gionta may have cost us this one. I’ve got no problem with the call on PK in ot – putting out DD and Patch was dangerous, and it cost them.
If Price has an average game, this is a 3-1 win. That is the most dominant I’ve seen the habs in a while and if this continues they’ll be alright.
The game where Desharnais was in the wrong league. He’s a top line forward in the AHL. He isn’t one in the NHL. I thought he had a chance one day to make it to the NHL but I seriously doubt that now. It’s a waste of time bringing him in. Boyd is better.
Geez, get over it. Price can’t–and won’t–be the best player on the ice every night. The guys in front of him have to win their fair share of games, too. Yeah, they ran into a hot goaltender, but 50 shots with more than enough decent scoring chances should be more than enough to pull out a win when our goalies isn’t at his very best.
Those who are bashing Price, come on! He’s been bailing this team out since the beginning of the season for the D’s mistakes. We can’t keep playing the same way and expect Price to be spectacular. Every goalie lets in a few crappy ones and has a stretch of bad games. For Carey, it’s happening now.
After this 3-day break, he’s ll be back stronger than ever. Trust me on this one! People have to stop acting like Price forgot how to play goal. After 16 games in the month of December,
Habs get a much needed break. Everyone gets to rest up their aches and pains and come back strong. And expect Gorges to be back as well. NOT the end of the world ppl.
didnt u watch the game u tool?dontcha watch any other habs games?Do u not see a trend?Oh i forgot u were blind.Tell me why they called a penalty on pk subban in ot and nothing on the thrashers in the 3rd when clearly the refs coulda made numerous calls?Hmmm??tell me ya loser douche.
So when Price stones the opposition, he’s the best player on the ice, but when Pavelec faces 50 shots and makes 47 saves, the Habs “simply didn’t finish?”
My point is, if our goalies have to be walls day in and day out, there are much more pressing issues with the team. Putting all the blame on him is the easy way out.
Loser are people that are to stupid to know when they are being screwed. The real loser here are the fans that pay those prices to watch refs decide a hockey game.
i know ….and i bet you anything but i aint no proof, lol, that refs in this league, the nhl, have hidden agendas. It is so blatently obvious to anyone who watches most of their games but its only been happening,in my opinion, for the past 2 seasons or so.Its unreal.I hope someone…gainey ,JM ,Goats, or a player….hell screw a fine …they are all rich anyways…Hope 1 person steps up and says hey wtf is goin on here? Its obvious and it has to stop.
IM a habs fan till the grave and while those will say well its just my bias opinion on the refs jobbin the habs consistently… i say screw you.Its the truth.I never noticed anything to this extent befor and ive been watching habs since 1989.REFEREEING IN THE NHL is fixed.
I guess I am the only one who sees this team leaving Price out to dry. Not taking men in front of the net. And we blame Price for soft goals. So typical, he wins the December Molson Cup and people bash him for that. The only other player deserving of it is Gomez with his 13 points in 13 games.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
I wish the Habs had a stronger backup goalie. Price is clearly tired, and that contributes (a bit) to the slump. But Auld is a very weak link if Price needs some time off.
Trading Halak is something that’s done, and the gamble has paid off. But not signing a stronger back-up for Price – one that can give the kid a break when he needs one, is a festering mistake. Trading halak was a gutsy gamble, but having Price play this many games is a foolish one. He’s too young to do a Brodeur like this.
Brett Connolly, the guy Saint Yzerman selected with the 6th overall pick despite refusing to get a medical pre-screening at the draft because of hip issues, has 2 assists in 4GP, but is still getting to be RW to Sean Couturier for Team Canada while Louis Leblanc with 2G and 3A and looking about 10x better is slumming it on the 3rd line.
Haven’t been able to watch many WJ games but I saw Leblanc take a horrible offensive zone penalty while they were on a powerplay late in the 3rd..tie game. Looked just like Pleky. lol
True, BUT not when said young player has been playing solid hockey. WHich Eller has been doing. He has been one of the better forwards each and ever night for the last few weeks.
HOW ARE WE LETTING THE MOVE AROUND ALL THEY WANT IN FRONT OF THE NET?
Maybe we need to put in Auld, and suit up Price so he can show the team what would be a good defensive play and try to stop 2 players from walking all around in front if the net.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Pathetic goaltending. Flopped on his knees on the left post – stick not on the ice. Slid across his crease on his knees. Got up for a second or so then back to his knees. It was while trying to slide back across his crease again on his knees that they slid it past him. Yanks his a$$ until he stops this crap.
FIRE JM FIRE JM Tampa was given a PS for a touch on the Hand and Gionra was cork screwed on a break away and not even a penalty are you kidding. What did JM do he behind the bench with his finger up up his ass. Come on now down 3-2 we need a coach that will stand up for his players .
Maybe notes to remember how to tell PK about NHL defence? Maybe he spotted something small before the obvious error that could matter?
I don’t love Martin’s coaching, and think Price is way over-used (without an adequate back-up), but the people jumping on them right now are looking very predictable and simplistic.
The D has to play better. You don’t have much chance on a guy coming in with speed and puck control like that – it’s the D’s job to hamper at least one of the two.
Nice coverage by Moen there. Let’s see. He can’t score into a soccer net from one foot away, so he’s supposed to be strong on defense? Terrible. How many times has Montreal allowed a goal in the last 30 seconds of a period this year? Another knife-fight for eighth place coming up.
Mental fatigue is wearing on Carey, they’ve played him too much and it’s backfiring with the team too expectant for him to bail them out of tough situations.
Three B2Bs this month, Carey does double duty and it’s a serious mistake by JM is all I will way.
The Habs are pissing points away when they pull S**t like that with 16 seconds left in the period. It gets too hard to keep mounting comebacks and wins.
They have a system that supports scoring goals. We have a system that supports controlling the puck, based on the assumption that controlling the puck will eventually lead to scoring. Maybe the premise is flawed.
It is time to call Roy we need a coach no way the refs get away with this Shit with Roy. We need some passion and he will help Price. PG call Roy we need a coach.
I agree with the post below — Price is suffering from fatigue, we’ve played him too much. It’s the same thing that happened two playoff’s ago.
Moen has to sit for missing that check, for the 3rd and/or for the next game.
Weber and PK should never be together, not on the ice at the same time, not next to each other on the bus, not rooming together, etc. It should be simple: young guy should always be paired with a veteran guy.
We showed some character against Florida — this is a real test of what we are made of, if we can finally come back in the third.
In fact, the Habs are the only team in the league that has a winning percentage of .000 when trailing after the 1st or the 2nd. The Cardiac Kids these guys ain’t.
To not get a scoring chance out of that 3 on 1 was unacceptable. It seemed like he hit the mark he wanted with a great shot earlier, but Pavelec made a better save. At this point, I’d be happy with the modest goal of Cammalleri stitching even 40 good minutes together one of the games (soon). For the better part of the season, he’s been outplayed by Gomez, which is pathetic.
Habs have a big problem in their heads. They’re not confident in themselves because of all the losing, and when the slightest thing goes wrong, they start to panic. Whenever the other team is in their end in the last minute, you can see the wheels turning, like, oh no, we can’t give up another last minute goal. Then they start throwing the puck away and missing passes and next thing you know, the fear comes true. Habs are playing with fear. They have to get beyond the fear if they’re going to win.
I dont want to insult you. I just want to make it clear that this comment makes it clear that you don’t understand what a butterfly goalie does. The entire style is based on being able to go anywhere and do anything from your knee (butterfly). Please take this into account when making posts and judging Price. I’m not saying he’s playing well tonight, but I can’t help but comment on this cause it’s just so out of touch. If you want to understand how butterfly goalies aren’t helpless on their knees then look it up on youtube or on google.
all last year we had trouble scoring…in the playoffs if not for camm and gion scoring way above their scoring pace we would have had the same problem and it did manifest itself vs the flyers…beginning of this year many of our wins were close games where we scored the key goal…in the slump portion of the season we could not score the key goals…right now this is the team we have…we will go on a winning run but will also go back to a losing streak…when you score 2-3 at best every night but play great d and have solid special teams and goaltending you are in most games but without scoring a winning streak can turn into a losing streak very easily…it is on very few occasions that our offense can bail out the team when the d , special teams or goaltending has a bad night…when the majority of your games are one goal or tied games because you cannot score the odds are that over the long run you will be around 500…so unless there is improvement the best we can hope for is to make the playoffs and get the key goals in the playoff series…this is why it make very little difference who we play in the first round as just as easily we can win in the playoffs we can exit very fast…
Agree with you overall, but I’d still rather face any team than Philly. Against Washington and Pittsburgh last year, we played tight defence and provided blanket coverage of their scoring stars. The Flyers are much more balanced offensively; they have no superstars but a bunch of guys who are dangerous all the time. So they’re impossible to shut down. That, with their size and toughness, makes them the worst match-up for us. Besides, it would suck to lose to them three times in a row.
But all this is hypothetical. For the reasons you give, we’re going to have a tough time making the playoffs; in fact, unless Gauthier makes a move to bolster our offence, I think we’re more likely to just miss them than stumble into eighth place. It’s clear Price is playing too many games. He is not as sharp as he was, so we need to score roughly one more goal per game to have a chance of winning. Or the team needs to place more confidence in Alex Auld and give him more starts, which is what I would do.
It feels over because these guys play so many games like this. Either the talent was overestimated and they overachieved before Christmas or they are just plain not that good.
Obviously last years deficiencies were camouflaged by a hot goalie in the playoffs. The team just does not have any push back when they get behind or the experience the slightest bit of adversity.
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.
We will, without warning, ban those who do not abide by this simple rule, so as to maximize the enjoyment of readers and participants of both sexes and all ages.
Wow good one. No really, that was a good one.
I have owned you left and right in every hockey discussion we have. ANd this is your “burn”. HaHa. Pathetic. Too funny that you have not been able to make one hockey argument to debunk anything I have said.
Hockey For Dummies pal! Invest!!
I like Eller better at center as well.
In terms of his development, I would rather him playing center full time. That’s why we got him, right?
If true, it is stupid. I understand a skill player, DD is entering the lineup, but the team has had trouble scoring and AK is a pure goal scorer. Let him play for Christ’s sake. Sitting him is going to do nothing in term of “waking him up” etc etc. He is who he is. Some nights hes a beast and others he is MIA. But he is a threat and needs to be on the ice.
Should have been pyatt sitting IHMO.
you gotta be kidding me…. they better be working on a trade.
Looked pretty good in the first game of the year, subbing in for Cammy.
Eller is a natural born center. I really dislike him playing on the wing.
I smell a trade.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Odd.
Eller with Cammy and Pleks, AK sits according to Twitter.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Yep – Mike is a scout for the Wild. Maybe they want Benny back?
Desharnais in with Pouliot and Darche, Flying Frenchmen… more like two Speed-Walking ones with their clumsy friend Pouliot.
Who is sitting for DD to get in?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Agreed.
Little fella has hockey, PVR game which is fine by me. Hate afternoon games. Takes away from the family.
Habs WIn!!
They Call Me Shane
Just like everyone else, not a clue. But he is sure trying to put something together. Might take a little time, but I have a feeling.!!
I think you are right and Gagnon’s suggestion can’t really be seen as anything other.
Put Desharnais with Pouliot and Eller and see what he can do.
That is some sweet sugah.
Go habs go!
Exactly what I was thinking. It wouldn’t make sense to move Gomez and because it doesn’t make sense expect Martin to do it.
Pouliot and Pyatt for David Clarkson. “Boom!”, as Ari Gold would say
Perch Rapella
The line is
POULIOT-DEHARNAIS-DARCHE
The Frenchman…with one flying guy and one grinder…and a guy with his head in the clouds.
Why move Gomez down…he’s on fire right now
James Wis-Bang will get a great welcome at the Bell Center today. He just might be the tonic for the back end that we have been missing. He DONE good his first two games on the road, but playing in the Bell Center will be a different experience.
James the (Wis-Bang), Kid, just might stick!
I like trolling too. However, my target is pike and especially in the fall when the water is changing and they tend to get a bit more active. I like to use a Daredevil spoon. The red and white for summer and the yellow with red diamonds in the fall. How about you?
***Subbang!!!***
AK for another minor leaguer who will probably be about 5’6″.
I have an idea that it will be a trade that no one considers…. I can’t think of a single deal on the market really with so many teams clawing for playoff spots and the draft lottery teams lacking appealing assets.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Because Boone swears by everything that Gagnon says. He is Mike’s guru of hockey.
Wasn’t a signing.
And it’d be silly to separate Gomez from that line.
There are tons of players who dominate the AHL and don’t do lickity spit once they get up here. Rob Schremp, Jasson Krog, etc…
Anyone have an idea what Pierre Gauthier’s next transaction might be?
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Leading point getter in the last dozen games. How many times did Habs score last dozen games… a dozen maybe? Gomez is still by far the worst signing since Laraque and even that is debatable.
Well that’s a bright idea, Gagnon. Demote a player who is our leading point producer over the past dozen games or so.
Why is that worth mentioning, Mr. Boone?
Gauthier legacy for the habs, is to make them the smallest team in the league, and then change their name from the Montreal Canadiens to the Montreal midgets!
you mean where the habs will never be.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Come on….Tampa’s a very good team and hey they got a real good coach.Did they not hand the Habs their asses in the last game ….
Cormier’s in the game? Keep your head up!
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Looking for a Habs win and a Team Canada JR’s win to day. Is that asking too much?
….Hab4life….
The Wiz had 3 surgeries to his right knee! That’s unsettling…
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
“It must be love!”
A request to those going to the game today.
GO CRAZY!
I want all ya’ll that are going to this game to take it up a notch today. The team needs it now more than ever. I want to hear a constant stream of Go Habs Go all game. Anything less is unacceptable.
GO HABS GO
Anybody want more turkey? Kids coming over and I just put another one in the oven.
This may Max out my turkey quota for the season, particularly now that Laps in gone
***Subbang!!!***
I actually think JM is doing a good job for the most part with eller.
sometimes they don’t need the seasoning in the AHL, but they need to learn the game in the NHL in spurts.
there are lots of great NHL players that were less than overwhelming in their debut season.
players like vinny lecav, joe thornton, the sedin twins, mike ribeiro.
they all toughed it out in the NHL for their first year, came back the next year as good players.
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
Some one said Habs vs Atlanta should be a close game ,ha!…. Atlanta is where we should be: Young ,Big,Tough, fast and talented…..
Max pacs-Desharnais -Eller
No one’s looking for a twenty four year old minor leaguer. He’d have to be lights out with the big team to garner any kind of return. Eller belongs in Hamilton, if only to get the ice time and hone his skills.
I do, I just haven’t been on HIO lately so I haven’t had the time to change it to “Pleks” jk
Gomez is a perennial slow starter, and I think his “injury” was more of a “take time off and reflect on yourself”
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
DD, Weber and a second might do it. I’d be game for the right player.
btw, you do realize Gomez has 13 points in his last 13 games. Pleks has 7 in the same stretch.
Yeah, they tend to overlook those little facts, don’t they?
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
we would have to give up a little bit more to get a 30/60 type
DD’s value isn’t great at all..small player with scoring potential..not a first round pick.
it’s worth a 3rd/4th rounder straight up tops
we would have to offer a 1st + desharnais to get a 30/60 back.
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
Or DD, plus someone for a 30/60 type.
would be a possibility…maybe desharnais and a bit more for a player with size and medium scoring potential like a 35-40 point player.
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
Pavelec – 43/45 Saves
Incredible.
Big Hal joins the rush.
Missed the first 2 periods (forgot about the afternoon time slot) Doesn’t sound like ‘les boys’ are into this game ,although the shot clock is tilted in their favour by a long shot, who else can PG trade ? & who’s available out there ? Habs really need that big forward.. it may be time to change Price for a big trade ,but what could you get for him ? or who ?
Any geuss on what the socre would be if the teams switched goalies?
The Canadiens are going to win this game!
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
Hate these kinds of games. All kinds of chances but can’t buy a goal, and a handful of mistakes are putting them behind.
I remember when Price played that way, The stinky devils scored 3 goals against Atlanta, If we can’t, well, thats embarrassing
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
THis is when I wish guys like AK turn it ON to win it.
Best not to make assumptions when you’ve missed 2 periods of the game. The Habs are playing fine, it’s Atlanta’s goalie that’s stolen the show.
That entire line is playing perimeter hockey. Pleks is a good example. He had a chance to tuck it in short side, maybe get a rebound that cammy or kost could bank in. Instead he goes for the wraparound, which goes nowhere and the thrashers clear it out.
The team needs to stop this perimeter shit.
If it wasn’t for bad luck they would have no luck. Their goalie is letting out big rebounds give the guys A for effort.
this Pavelec is something else!!
The exact same. With the way Montreal’s been playing the last month its very easy to goaltend against them, and very hard to goaltend FOR them.
BELIEEVEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GIO-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
About time!
1st step accomplished, now onto step 2.
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
YES!!!GIO!!! FROM THE WIZ!!!!!
The boys are playing their hearts out. Can’t fault their desire and energy today.
Go Habs Go!
Pathetic goal. It didn’t even burst through the back of the net and melt all the snow in its path outside.
Is there a guy who wants it more than Gionta? THAT is a captain.
And Pacioretty’s nards should get an assist on that one.
Wisniewski continues to make Pierre Gauthier look like a genius.
and as i click post Gionta listens!
trade Price, who do we have for a goalie then, that makes no sense
Gooooooaaal!!!! Gionta!!!!
Go Habs Go!
Nice reply. Still Pavelec is standing on his head and Price is looking mediocre.
I wish Cammalleri would get his nose dirty a bit, playing some quality perimeter hockey there.
OH MANNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!
Cammalleri or Gionta need to bag one when its needed most!
Furious action. Maybe they can tie this thing!
Can’t catch a f’en break.
Habs are not giving up, come on boys!!!
Well, it’s not for a lack of trying.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Talk about snakebit. Gomez-Gionta-Pacioretty almost as many shots as all the Thrashers combined.
Right you are! I typed 7 from force of habit.
Check out your puck drop time Mr. Boone in the above. I’m sure today’s game is an afternoon affair not a 7:10ish start time as you say.
Happy New Year to all.
The team had legs against Tampa. Remember we were cruising until those too many men on the ice penalties.
The was a vintage Guy Lafleur style goal. Holy crap. That was the goal of the season.
Spacek…
Spacek seriously,get your shit together.
Space Kadet
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Peashooters… everywhere!
They’re working hard. Atlanta’s getting away with a lot, of course.
Hey Boone:
How many missed/blocked shots since the start of December as compared to October or November?
Hilarious. Hainsey mugs DD and no call. Then they call a ticky-tack one on the Thrashers.
Alright, now we need a pp goal.
Benny competing hard in the corner, draws a penalty!
Is Pavalec really from Quebec or something?
So for evey 5 penalties Atlanta commits they get called for one good job Mr. ref
NICE!!!!
Oooooohhhh yeaaaaahhhhh
What a pass by The Wiz! Beauty of a goal
what a pass from Woz!
Wow!
Wow!
What a beaut!!!!!!
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
wow
That Pavelec sure has a hard time on the one on ones….
PLEKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
PLECKY!!! What a GREAT F’ING GOAL!!!!!
That was really impressive after seeing the replay. Worth every penny! The Wiz is looking like a steal of a deal.
- In Price We Trust
Wisneisque for Mayor!
Did the server hamsters get pasta last night to build their carb levels?
I’m very excited about getting the Wiz!
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
What’s the matter with Pavelek, can’t stop a simple 1 on 1
Pyatt is 100 percent more usefull than at least 2 players the most noticable being moen.
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“
Guy Lafleur.
P.S. The ” penalty ” on subban was pretty chincy to say the least. Its not an infraction worthy of penalty in an overtime period… and i use that word infraction loosely.
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“
Guy Lafleur.
DUSTIN BOYD.
TURNER ”SKATES IN MUD” STEVENSON.
Also i believe we need a dude like John Leclair like in his 50 goal prime type….ya i know we had him then traded him…lol..BUT we need that type a dude to stand there and pot them goals and goals goals and goals eF*****KKK dam it PG make it happen cap’n’ ggrrrr
dont worry we will, we own the b’s this year……they arent as good as every1 thinks and says they are.
….yep the leafs ….they should be nicknamed ”the wind” ….because they blow.
Agree!!! Thats one of the reasons he’s so inconsistent.
I think Dustin Boyd has to clear waivers first if we want to bring him up, it would suck to loose him especially since he’s going so well now.
Love hearing the Canadian National Anthem after a win. Two more times before the gold is won.
They would’ve won that game with Auld in nets.
Disagree. Pacioretty was covering, he just got beat. It was a non-dangerous two on two
Game should have ended in regulation time if the 6 million dollar man would have scored.
Cammalleri is costing this team by continuing to be in a funk. How many times is he going
to miss wide. A heart braking loss when you consider that the Habs took the game to Atlanta.
All it took was a weak goal, a bad D play, or wide shot to lose you 2 points. Props to the team
today. They played with heart and desire. Hopefully, this game will give the team added con-
fidence to turn around their season.
Go Habs Go!
Did you watch the replay, the puck bounced on edge just when he shot, his stick made contact with the bottom of the puck causing it to go high
I’d like to see someone in the Habs organization go apeshit on the refs publicly. Get fined but facking lay into them. At some point, you have to call the bullshiot publicly because not calling it is certainly not helping. How can all 4 of them have not see the high stick on Gionta when the puck was right there? It’s not like Gionta keeps faking….
haha, the Halakalites are so transparent.
-Price still sucks
-Send Eller to the AHL
This was a helluva game, exciting to watch and plenty of positives. Our team never gave up and everybody showed up. They can only get better and better.
Wiz and the other youngsters brought a lot of energy. Our captain was captainlike. Who calls a soft penalty like that in OT?Heartbreaker.
I know that Price is our #1 but there is no good reason why Auld couldn’t have started today, He earned it and it would have given Carey some much needed rest. Price will be fine, he obviously has the skills but he is being ridden into hte ground
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
it was a weak bullshit call, they let worse go on Atlanta in the third. Terrible inconsistent reffing
Once again, the Habs made an otherwise mediocre goalie look like a Hall of Famer. And, can this team finally win ONE game where it trailed going into the third period?!
” they would have won with Auld in nets”…….pure speculation
If you think Pavalec is a mediocre goalie, you don’t watch much hockey…
…NHL REFEREES call them…because they are idiots and think they are the stars of the show or something.EFF em all to hell they are all corrupt.
agreed, absolutely not mediocre
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
I watch a LOT of Hockey. Pavelec made the stops tonight, but he is hardly a great goalie……….
I watch a LOT of Hockey. Pavelec made the stops tonight, but he is hardly a great goalie……….
As an aside, LOVE the profile photo from Animal House………
As an aside, LOVE the profile photo from Animal House………
based on the numberof games they played recently they looked very good…we are still about 4-5 upgrades away from being serious contenders…darche, pouliot, moen, pyatt we can keep one of these players but 3 need to be upgraded…we need one more solid d and one more scorer..
I will. But pk is the forward on that play.
Auld earned it? Did you even watch that game? They won in spite of Auld, 2 horrid goals.
Don’t finish ahead of the Bruins in the Northeast and it’s Bubblefestapalooza for these guys!
You honestly believe that PG is doing a bad job?
From the look of things no one here’s really in the mood for this, but fools rush in…
Three out a possible four points earned, all points earned by coming back from deficits, opponents outshot by a 2-1 margin, looks like we’re turning the corner, and leaving the slump behind.
Stay positive my friends.
…. and how many other chances in the game and for that matter in the season has he failed to convert by shooting
high or wide? You can’t have probably your best scorer on the team continue to misfire. Streaky or not, he so far has
been a disappointment.
Go Habs Go!
So you revert to complaining about when and when I don’t post (which is not even accurate).
who do you suggest replaces G and G and what should they do ??
ManApart is sounding like a Tony.
Plain and simple it was a goaltending battle tonight and Price was not nearly as good as his counterpart. Thats it and thats all.
I watch every game, so its my opinion. He got us a win, and stopped a road losing streak, in my book he earned a 2nd start, if just to give Price a rest, whats wrong with that. Price wasn’t playing much better
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
On another note, the Swiss are not a push-over hockey nation. Props to them.
I don’t think the 41-year old geezer is the answer.
Go Habs Go!
Funny how you only show up after a loss to blow your horn and spew your tripe.
Go Habs Go!
I definitely thought about that. I agree. 3 of 4 coming from behind is huge.
They still need to play Auld more games. Price is looking gassed. I have a bad feeling about them playing him too often.
Great effort. It is frustrating losing to a team that the Habs have to prop up with revenue sharing.
Copied and pasted yet again
…..pure gut instinct
Go Habs Go!
Reverse jinx please?
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Whoa slow down there with the positivity gumper. Dont you know it hate only after a loss around here? You gotta blame someone. Try Price, you ll fit right in. haha
It’s not my fault, the truth isn’t what you would like to hear.
You answered your own question:
Question: How can anyone blame Price?
Answer: He let in a weak goal and didnt play at the top of his game.
Go Habs Go!
Well if that is what tony says, then he’s right. This management is responsible for the many holes and problems on this team. This is 7 years into their regime remember? if the team is still this bad, then there is no question they must go at once. If you can’t see that, then you’re part of the problem.
When was the last time we posted more than 40 shots in back to backs?
It’s not your fault that you never show up after the Habs win to share “the truth”? Weird. All the moreso considering that you freely admit that you didn’t even bother to watch the game. What a fantastically informed opinion.
Go Habs Go!
Winning nights lol!? Seriously, you’re wrong again, Check the Florida thread buddy, I was there.
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“
Guy Lafleur.
idk…but on a side note;when was the last time Cammaleri hit da net?Godddan^&*&^IT!Hit da net Mikey!!!
Thank goodness for the Wiz! We haven’t had a shot like his since Souray.
They’re similar players now that I think about it, except Wisniewski has more mobility (and obviously smaller). Haven’t had a d-man like him since Souray.
Finally a game perfect for international viewers. Game starts at 7 pm for a change. Good for me!
terrible game for people who are currently stuck at work!
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
Yeah, an 8pm start in Finland. Great stuff. Dangerous for the workday tomorrow if they happen to score more than 4 and the elbow loosens up the GlenLivet valve pouring down the throat, but we’re ready to live with those small odds.
Spacek being boo’ed a little?
- In Price We Trust
He’s by far the worst Hab tonight.
For two horrific giveaways that could have had ATL up 3-1? Why not.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Good period of hockey.
5 games in less than 7 days.
Pretty outrageous.
wait, you WANT someone to score goals for this team?
what will we have to complain about!?
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
Habs vs Atlanta should be a pretty even game.
Atl is +5 goal differential, the same as Montreal. (even if Alt has scored 25 more goals with 2 more games played)
The difference will be in D toughness.
Altanta has it- Habs don’t.
1st game back from a long road trip paired with an afternoon start = Habs loss by 2 goals.
Thank you, NHL schedulemaker.
So, when is Goatier going to trade for someone that can score?
@Boone:
Re: Don Cherry et al.
Don Cherry went beyond the wire to autograph weapons.
I’ve had interesting conversations here about how we should not villify Mr. Cherry.
Autographing a soldier’s rifle?
I’m sorry, but it’s stuff like this that makes me less than receptive to his discussion of Subban, and talk of Christmas.
Wow. Didn’t watch Cherry last night…. but come on. He should be autographing HOCKEY STICKS or something, maybe a used jockstrap. But guns ? seriously.
Good period, all considered:
- only one penalty, which we killed
- 12 of 18 on faceoffs
- PP goal
- 16 shots in the first, to only 5 against
When Gorges comes back, can we sit Spacek?
He seems like a nice guy and all, but he’s struggling.
Good thing that Pleks scored to tie the game up. If they had been trailing after the first period, my wife would have quoted their comeback record, declared the game over, and presented me with the Sunday list of chores.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Most nights, he is terrible, but better than Weber
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Souray => Streit => MAB => Wiz
Spacek is much better on the left side.
Peverly should be signed as UFA just so he can’t play against us anymore.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Spacek is like the faithful old warhorse who’s having a tough time dragging the wagon now.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Agree, just shows ya how little some people understand about the game
It’s days like this that I feel guilty about drafting Peverley for my fantasy team
What’s odd is before he left, Halak wasn’t good on the breakaways either, he was great in the shootouts and Price has had some dazzling SO stops as well but neither of these guys can seem to reliably handle a breakaway, weird.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
I thought Darche cost the first goal – let Peverley go.
Our D is having trouble making passes to each other in the offensive zone.
Right on I am glade other people are watching the game.
The difference between Subban and Spacek is that despite Spacek’s consistent giveaways – he’s an experienced enough defenseman to make the next best move and prevent a goal against. That’s why Spacek is +4 and Subban is -2.
Agreed.
So Im driving home to watch the game and listening on the radio en francais and hear that Desharnais steps on the ice, PK makes a mistake and Pewverely scores. One black mark against DD.
Just turned on the tv and learn that atleast we have tied the score.
Way to go.!!
The shooter always has an overwhelming advantage on a breakaway. The momentum of the game is with him and his vision is several steps ahead of the goalie’s. On a SO, both players are prepared so its more of an even-footing (in fact goalies have the edge because they have time to cover their angles).
Boone,
It’s not only the accuracy of the Wiz shot but the fact he doesn’t take forever to get it off!
Unlike other members of the blueline corps. AKA windmill Subban!

Peverly is getting close to earn the Rich F. Peverly status (if he hasn’t already)
Funny that.
Dumb play by Antropov. We’ll take it!
Brain fart.
Seriously, what happened to Price’s puck control? Is he bored in nets?
That happens at least 1-2 times a game lately, where Price is too lackadaisical passing it out
What a dumb play by Halpern — play right to the point man for ATL.
WTF was that?
Garbage!
Soft…
what? first sentence lost me.
Nah,spacek is just smart enough to jump into his teams bench instead of getting back hence giving the minus to someone else, lol j/k.
Could feel that coming…
and now Pleks for the win.
CHEERS!
Well, you certainly have your priorities straight my friend lol!
Finaly cashing in a rebound, thats 3 goals, woo hoo
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Okay, let’s not screw up at least until OT. Get the point.
Nobody beats the Wiz!
Note to self: Watch Seinfeld after the game. http://blog.oregonlive.com/blazers/2008/03/seinfeld-wiz.jpg
Well now I feel better…the captain comes through, new life in the Bell Centre
PK SUBBAN!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
and he did it without that massive windup
Dang. I think Price is having a hard time staying focused
can’t hold back anymore……SCAREY PRICE SUCKS!!!!!
Price is clearly becoming the victim of playing way too much hockey. Thanks Martin!
As bad as price was on that goal – and he was bad – what was gill thinking by not moving that puck?
Number 25 in 2010
Just got back from CHicago. Ate like a king, saw some Picasssos, caught some fish (long story).
What’d I miss? And where is Max?
Not a good goal..sheesh!
Hate to say it but what is wrong with Price?
He looks much more like the Price of last year than the one who stoned everyone in October and November.
Soft goals at the most inopportune times seem to be the order of the day.

Bogosian – at least buy Gionta dinner first!
He went too high lol!
Man, price needs to sit like 5 games in a row, to collect himself. This is garbage.
Formerly known as Camel_Larry.. ‘Sub-BAM! What a hit!’

The entire sequence that led to that goal started with Gill not hitting his job done.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Carey Price is playing lackadaisically as of late.
There we go.
*drinks a shot*
Geez dude. Relax. Price was weak on that goal. No excuses.
“arret de pavelec”
Subbang!
He finally one-timed it. Et le but!!
100% agreed Joey
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
Subbang!
Tipped, I think, but still, it was a well timed shot by PK for once.
Pacs got that one I think.
Good on Max Power for being right in front.
That’s what happens when you take a reasonable windup, PK.
***Subbang!!!***
I believe that his last goal was a one-timer, too. He’s also taken a couple of wrist shots over the past couple of games.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
You know what? True fans shouldn’t have to put up with your teenage crush on Carey. Try to learn some more about the game – and grow up.
Most of us support them. Some just can’t get thru life without a little hate and you have to admit that sometimes these guys can be easy targets with their play. Like that 3 on 1 they just fluffed and a comeback by the Trash that almost goes in off our ouwn player. Whew…frustrating.
***Subbang!!!***
HH, you are spot on. That was indeed a very weak goal to give up. Price needs to pick up his intensity level.
He looks like he is in a fog. At least the rest of the team is playing hard and battling in this game.
Go Habs Go!
Come on joey, you know that was a weak goal to give up. Has nothing to do with slagging Price.
Price has been awesome for this team, but even Price would admit that was a weak goal. You have
to call them as you see them.
Go Habs Go!
Man.. so glad to have Wiz. I’m sure a bunch of us here were quietly hoping we’d get him this past summer.
Finally!!!
Way to go Wiz……took a little off and nailed his man Ladd right in the foot, and then an accurate one-timer to take advantage of the space he’d created for himself.
The Montreal Americans keep on doing it.
Gionta (Wisniewski, Pacioretty)
If they keep up this pace it’s theirs. The momentum has swung.
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
Do you think the dudes over on Islanders Insideout are happy about Wiz’s productivity this week?
And do you think Wiz is thinking, hey, this place ain’t half bad??
Do you have to be legally blind to be a NHL official?
- In Price We Trust
Good cycle in the o-zone.
Yes! Keep the shots going. Shoot first ask questions later.
You know what’s sad? Our guy gets a stick in the face and 200,000 people know it should have been a penalty. meanwhile, seven of the nine Atlanta fans watching this think it was a piece of acting. Ah, the NHL….
What a finish to this game – would have been awesome if Cammy buried that 2-on-1.
Go Habs Go!
How the f*ck did Cammy miss that????????
- In Price We Trust
…… and now the crucial last minute of regulation time. No f.. ups please.
Go Habs Go!
Pretty awesome end of game here
Cammy?
Now how about we get a buzzer beater finally.
9 shots by Gio, 6 by Max Power, 5 by Hammer and Gomez each
Gotta love the effort there. COME ON BOYS, FINISH THIS THING!
I’ve never seen a team turn so many odd-man rushes into not so much as even a shot on goal.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Fearless prediction – RDS feed remains active for the OT, and the winner will be scored by Plekanec.
Go Habs Go!
Cammalleri is snake bit. What a golden opportunity to win the game . Damn!
Go Habs Go!
Best Habs games in 2011
.
Dose anyone on this site believe if a Hab player had high stick one of thier player there would not have been a plenalty called. this goes on and on and on what a joke.
Hey – we get to see the OT today. Hope it’s the same result.
Price has to be the best player right here and right now.
Puck went on edge
Come on Habs, lets take this in OT!
nice play by the Wiz
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
PK very casual in coming back, he should have been racing to be one of the Habs skating backwards.
Bad play.
Huge stop, but of course a penalty. Come on PK!
Go Habs Go!
That is lameassed!
Weak call!
lol, a call in overtime, where were you guys when gionta got a stick in the face when 2 minutes were left in the game? inconsistant bastards
what a bullshit call
What a TERRIBLE GOAL
Good goal, terrible sequence.
Price needs to get his head out of his rear end. That’s two weak goals. What are the shots 23-4?
ok i’m definitely giving price the blame for that one.
Insanely weak hooking call for an OT.
if it was the thrashers it would have been a quick whistle for sure..
soft goal by price
Great patience on that first sequence. Those are the ones that usually lead to a break down. Good job by Carey to hold it.
Go Habs Go!
Here’s a stat:
Pavelec 21/22
Price 9/11
The same penalty they just called wasn’t called earlier after Gionta’s breakaway.
and that’s not to mention about six other holds and hooks that the ref ignored.
price has to physical ability to handle the puck but his mistakes have been going on way too long…gill and spacek on d at the same time is a joke…
Sissy Spacek with the save!
Wow, that was close.
Junior B goaltending. This is what he did for so long – weak goal after weak goal. Be a man Jacques and treat him like you treat the others. Bring in Auld.
Didn’t Auld lose 3-0 against these guys???
Tha goal was pure luck. We STILL can’t clear the front of the goal.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Spacho! save of the game!
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
Spatch to the rescue.
price has to physical ability to handle the puck but his mistakes have been going on way too long…gill and spacek on d at the same time is a joke…
Spatch has had an interesting day
- In Price We Trust
Edge of the seat action!
Go Habs Go!
come on carey!!!
Damn. Thanks, refs.
Go Habs Go!
F!
Oh well. Penalties and spcial teams.
Can’t be positive about Carey.
But nonetheless, at least they played well and got back into the game and get at least that 1 point.
Weak goaltending cost us this one. He won some games for us early, but he’s struggling right now.
50 shots we can not score our team has had this issue for more then a few years you think this problem would have been taken care of by now …… nope.
Hey, at least it’s a point.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
He’s not the only one who is.
- In Price We Trust
Only a partial win for Halpern on the faceoff, turned into a loss. He pulled the puck back on the draw, but the Habs couldn’t pick it up.
Cédric Desjardins should start the next game to spell CP.
I’d put in Eller over Desharnais any day. Seriously. Send DD back to Hamilton before his trade value drops to nothing.
The refs in this league has been scewing this team is this coming from higher up. Are you kidding me calling that penalty after what happen to Gionta. Not to mention the hold on the face off to allow them to gain control of the puck what the hell is going on.
Garbage. 50 shots and yet they’re lucky to get one point. Atlanta hit 4 posts.
Why doesn’t JM call a timeout and reset his penalty kill???
Jacques Martin had one timeout left, with 2 mins left in the OT, he couldn’t call it to give Pleks and Gill a little breather?
Im one to not usually cry about officiating but that was BS, a weak call against us but no call on them in the last 2 minutes of the game, why do the refs look to always screw us
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Desharnais was good …what are you watching?
We beat ourselves today — Price not as sharp as he could be, Moen lost his check for the 3rd goal, Halpern gave up possession to lead to the 2nd goal, PK didn’t recover after pinching and took a call to lead to the PP OT goal.
IT’S OFFICIAL:
JM needs to go. Habs are 0-16 when trailing after 2. Is that the bench boss not doing his job motivating his team?????
Plus: His “System” does not work with this team. They have some skilled players up front that are not playing to their potential, and are not putting the puck in the net because of this system strategy. ie. one of the lower GF in the league.
I’d like to see Muller step up as head coach
Like I said. They are playing Price too much. He should be playing 70% of the games at most. Right now he’s at 90% and the wear and tear is showing. I can’t believe how poorly the Habs have been handling what is probably the top goal-tending prospect of his generation. Deplorable really.
Yep, let’s throw Price under the bus again, because he is the main issue with the team.
BS call on PK otherwise your right on, Price was not Pricean today. I know he’s the #1 but JM could have given Auld back to back and went to Price on Thursday, Give Carey some time off, I think he needs it
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”

Yeah, let’s whine whenever Price gets deservedly criticized.

….because dude,they are corrupt.I guarantee it.

They simply didn’t have the finish.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
EXCUSES ARE FOR LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EXCUSES ARE FOR LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“It must be love!”
It should be the other way around… Send Eller down and fast before he becomes the worst move by PG ever….

didnt u watch the game u tool?dontcha watch any other habs games?Do u not see a trend?Oh i forgot u were blind.Tell me why they called a penalty on pk subban in ot and nothing on the thrashers in the 3rd when clearly the refs coulda made numerous calls?Hmmm??tell me ya loser douche.
he’s a mediocre goalie.
he overachieved for 2 months, and now the REAL Price is showing up, the 1 from last year and the year before and the year before.
habs will go nowhere with him in the nets.
why?
because it’s mental with him.
he’s a head case.
he just doesn’t have the intensity over an 82 game schedule!
So when Price stones the opposition, he’s the best player on the ice, but when Pavelec faces 50 shots and makes 47 saves, the Habs “simply didn’t finish?”
Haha, ok there.
STHU and your CAPS LOCK is ON …..get them specs checked cuz clearly you can’t see the screen nor the tv screen when watching the game.
Yawn….

…its too bad they dont got a cure for that blue and white disease habguy…..go back to leaf land and tell your fairy tales over there.
That is Very True
Your man halak has worse stats playing in front of a team and a defense that is much much better than ours. Plus he scored on himself

My point is, if our goalies have to be walls day in and day out, there are much more pressing issues with the team. Putting all the blame on him is the easy way out.
Loser are people that are to stupid to know when they are being screwed. The real loser here are the fans that pay those prices to watch refs decide a hockey game.
do you have a stutter
Well, when you blow odd-man rushes and don’t even get a shot on goal out of them, you’re certainly not making his job more difficult.
He played a great game, but if the Habs could have converted even one of those chances, we’d be talking about a win.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
True dat!
I thought they’d get favourable officiating now that Max is gone.
go crawl back in your hole troll
The one where he was completely and utterly outmatched physically.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Hey, if it can happen in the NBA…
Your post is a load of crap.
Price is an elite goaltender, albeit a young one.
He’s been over played. That’s all.
No goaltender should play 82 regular season games. He should play somewhere around between 50 and 60 games. He’s being mis-handled, again!!
i know ….and i bet you anything but i aint no proof, lol, that refs in this league, the nhl, have hidden agendas.
(Sob) I love you, Carey.
Good for PK. See what a quick release will do for ya?
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Definitely hit the shaft of MaxPac’s stick.
The peeps love PK. but JM gets no love.
Pavelec 26/28
Price 10/12
We get it. You’re not a fan.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
give it up
PK did that respectfully.
PK scores to tie the game and JM puts Moen/Pyatt and Halpern on the ice to take the faceoff.
Bizarre no?
Not when you score at the end of a shift. It’s not a popularity contest ya know.
***Subbang!!!***
Re: Price…. This is a TEAM game, Gill actually apologized to Price during the tv timeout for not properly clearing the puck.
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
PK and Wiz should be on the PP together
Does PK not know how to take a wristshot?
- In Price We Trust
Seriously, our forwards cannot score a goal.
To be fair, they don’t practice 3 on 1 often enough
***Subbang!!!***
theres the price we know and love
How could they blow that 3 on 1??? And then almost give one up, good save Carey.
I miss the days when Atlanta let Don Waddell run the team.
There ya go Pricey. Wakey wakey. Nice alertness there.
I guess I am the only one who sees this team leaving Price out to dry. Not taking men in front of the net. And we blame Price for soft goals. So typical, he wins the December Molson Cup and people bash him for that. The only other player deserving of it is Gomez with his 13 points in 13 games.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
hey….. the Commodore 64 server is running pretty smoothly for this game. Nice!
Does weber ever get the puck around the first checker? I have not been overly impressed with him on the pp or the pinch.
Commodore 64. NICE
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Stopped feeding the hamsters the no-name stuff. Giggitty!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
And we think Price doesn’t read this stuff here. Someone tweeted your comment to him and he reacted immediately. Way to go!
***Subbang!!!***
He’s too young to do a Brodeur like this.
ahhhhh comoooonnnn
He’s an inside look at their new dual core server. Some issues still.
How does that idiot ref miss that hook? What a joke.
Does anyone notice a difference on how their defence are making it difficult for our forwards, even on the breakaway?
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
we can’t finish lately
A lack of lifters has ruined many a road hockey breakaway too. Jeez, they’re playing tense.
Pouliot – Desharnais – Darche, the PDD line, or as I like to call it the P-Diddy line.
FFS don’t allow one now!
are we trying to allow a last minute goal
Moen lost his check, that simple.
Sit him for Eller.
AGAIN! Late period game killer
again? seriously?
I F’ING knew it!!! Damit all to HELL!
Someone remind these guys that a period is 20 minutes in length, not 19 minutes and some seconds.
Go Habs Go!
Here we go again!
end of period BS!
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:

Price hung out to dry again.
Damnit
guess so.
unbelievable, it happened again
Moen … Brutal

Young Jeezy. Boone is hipper than he looks. ROC
Boone has Shazam on his iPhone. But I am hipper than Hickey.
What a joke.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Haven’t been able to watch many WJ games but I saw Leblanc take a horrible offensive zone penalty while they were on a powerplay late in the 3rd..tie game. Looked just like Pleky. lol
Anyone got an online feed?
any suggestions for a live feed for todays game?? thanks
atdhe.net is always good

Eller scratched for DD? That’s pure bs in my opinion. What is Pyatt doing that deserves a spot over Eller?
It is a complete crock! Eller has been playing very solid hockey lately and for more of the last few weeks. To me this is a slap in the face of Eller.
There’s is nothing wrong with a young player like Eller sitting every now and then.
Sound Hound is a better app for that, IMO.
Again ?? 15 seconds left in the period ? Sick in a bad way.
How many more buzzer beaters must we endure?

3 goals on 19 shots. 3 goals that should’ve been stopped. Are you going to tell us to “chill out” again, Carey?
“Chill out”, that was an easy tap in, Price had no chance, try watching what’s going on
Carrey Price is not very good when he’s not busy
Ahh Price..I know the last one wasn’t all his fault but I feel like everytime they take a shot its gunna go in. Confidence = gone.
Are you a goalie?
Cross crease tap in, no chance.
Anyone else having audio problems with RDS? Keeps cutting in and out every 2 seconds.
EDIT: Cuts out on RDSHD, but fine with RDS.
This is good for a laugh. Would you like him to be more like Michel Therrien? Remember what happened when he yelled and screamed like a buffoon?
Go Habs Go!
200 feet from your own net, why?
Here we go with stupid penalty crap
Waddya know, Habs on the pk again.
What a brutal turnover by Spacek!
Spacek forget what team his on for a second?
- In Price We Trust
Nice pass spacek,lol
Maybe notes to remember how to tell PK about NHL defence? Maybe he spotted something small before the obvious error that could matter?
I don’t love Martin’s coaching, and think Price is way over-used (without an adequate back-up), but the people jumping on them right now are looking very predictable and simplistic.
can someone send me a live feed for the game?
Terrible.
Price needs to play better.
Oh PK, play your position.
***Subbang!!!***
Subban with the big hit, puck in the net, JM pulls out his pen & starts to write. Sigh.
Come on Skillzy use that reach and just poke the puck off Peverly’s stick when he tries to cut in.

“Start the season with a clean equipment bag and a freah bucket of febreze!”-CharlieHodgeFan
Subban was awful? What about Price?
Nice hit subby. But when you don’t pick your spots a little wiser thats what happens. You leave your D partner and goalie hung out to dry.
Peverly made it look easy.
Mistakes are costing us big time.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
The D has to play better. You don’t have much chance on a guy coming in with speed and puck control like that – it’s the D’s job to hamper at least one of the two.
He is SO a rookie. A good rookie, but a rookie nonetheless.
***Subbang!!!***
Darche floated on his coverage on that as well.
I think that Subban’s got bighititis.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Auld would’ve stopped it.
Great shift by AK46.
Another goalpost!
Our peashooter offense is getting on my LAST nerves. Score a damn goal on all these squandered opportunities FFS
Or that other guy. What was his name? You know….
***Subbang!!!***
So they’re going to do everything but hit the back of the net and in the process make Pavelec look like a Vezina winner
- In Price We Trust
Execution has been a huge problem in this slump. So many missed nets, bad passes, and whiffed shots.
Reminds me of Komisarek in his first years with the team.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Can you even think of a better waiver pick up then peverly?
Nice coverage by Moen there. Let’s see. He can’t score into a soccer net from one foot away, so he’s supposed to be strong on defense? Terrible. How many times has Montreal allowed a goal in the last 30 seconds of a period this year? Another knife-fight for eighth place coming up.
What weak coverage by Moen on that Ladd goal. He’s been terrible all season long in every aspect of the game. Why has he yet to be scratched?
Time to see what this team is really made of. Let’s see if they can handle this.
Mental fatigue is wearing on Carey, they’ve played him too much and it’s backfiring with the team too expectant for him to bail them out of tough situations.
Three B2Bs this month, Carey does double duty and it’s a serious mistake by JM is all I will way.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Are there stats for goals scored with less than 1min. to play?
The Habs are pissing points away when they pull S**t like that with 16 seconds left in the period. It gets too hard to keep mounting comebacks and wins.
Okay, but be prepared for the answer, either way.
Come on PG we need a coach .
The Habs are 0-15 when trailing after the 2nd period.
Leading the league in missing open nets as well.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
There are and we do not fare too well in that department.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Okay. That means we’re due?
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
yes, I believe that particular stat is called ‘goals scored with less that 1 min. to play’, actually.
Formerly known as Camel_Larry.. ‘Sub-BAM! What a hit!’

Time to put an end to this 0-fer when trailing business. Still a very winnable game.
GO HABS GO!!!!!
I’ve never seen a fanbase so willing to eat its children.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
PG you don’t have to fire JM give him a job selling popcorn.
They’re the most tender.
Better hope and pray that Price has the All-Star break off! He is mentally fatigued!
His fundamentals are so poor at the moment!
His puck handling and positional play which was so good in the first 2 months is shot to hell!
He is back to dropping too early and is giving up short side goals in bunches.
I agree with whoever said that Goatier was seriously remiss in not getting the quality backup for Price that Auld certainly is not!
With the end of period issues this team has PK and Subban? What can JM be thinking!
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:
1st star: Henri Richard
2nd Star: Doug Harvey
3rd Star: Jacques Plante
Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
Pathetic isn’t it, like a bunch of spoiled children
I guy in the crease or close is not Moen’s man (winger) D-man or centre should have that coverage
That it is. They can do this!
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Pavelec is the story in this match. He is simply on his game. That late goal is going to test this team’s mettle
and resolve in the 3rd period. Certainly they can come back and win, but they simply can’t afford not to bury
their chances or make costly D plays, especially against this team which seems to take advantage of our mis-
takes. The Habs must continue to push the play and attack their net and hope that our speed and skill comes
through for us.
Go Habs Go!
Also will say this, whatever is bothering Cammalleri, he needs to get over it. He is missing way, way too often for a sniper.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Lets see a show of hands how many on here was excited to see JM hired as coach from the get go.
Need that trailing after two stat to change….today!
….Hab4life….
Mike Johnson just read your post on air
Luck for us those posts
Also, Spacek sucks donkey balls.
So true. The Internet has done wonders for dispelling the myth of Habs fans as the most intelligent in all of hockey.
Go Habs Go!
I feel a comeback!!
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
Cammi needs to get a step closer to the net and/or get the shot away a bit sooner.
….Hab4life….
Used to be a week by week thing. Then game by game. Now it’s period by period, faceoff by faceoff.
***Subbang!!!***
Man, HIO posters are tense….no posts in over 7 minutes
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
It seems he brings his best against us.
Price looking small lately.
That was an important post
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
We’ve hit a couple the other way, so it kind of evens out.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Sadly, I have to agree. 3 goals on 20 shots with another 3 goal posts.
Sounds like Halakian stats.
I thought it was .56 although he’s listed as wearing .57
I guess my point is normalcy dictates that you do not put your 4th line to take the face off after you score a goal.
No – but I played until I was thirty and a guy on his knees is helpless in net.
He could have been on his feet and not stopped that. He’s getting no help what so ever
I know, eh? I’m mean, it not like all of those stand-up goalies from years gone by ever got scored on.
Centre Hice: yeah, but was it legal?
Oh thats solid dude. What was your record in the NHL?…
If you want to understand how butterfly goalies aren’t helpless on their knees then look it up on youtube or on google.
cannot blame price but he has real problems when a forward comes in on him one on one…
Seems to be a problem for goalies, that. Breakaways too, they give goalies problems.
Well then, whose fault is it – the goaltending coach?
English feed anyone? The FSN feed on atdhe is dubbed over in French
I actually think it’s German or something
Martin has got to get better matchups in his own building.
Yeah, that Tim Thomas has a problem with it too, seems to let in every second breakaway…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Not to get on the Ref’s sake but that’s was interference on Moen. Call it.
No interference on moen?
I still feel like AK46 is the weakest link on his line. He’s played better since the scratch, but that line is still missing an element.
The refs have some bias or agenda oe something against this team come on .
Spacek not having a good game.
Absolutely.
when are we going to start getting some breaks
Another no call and JM still has his finger up his ass. PG call Roy.
Habs have a chance to win this game. The pp has been a factor today, if they keep skating hard and win the one-on-one battles, another pp?
Nice save, Wiz.
How about calling up White???
on that two on one, did anyone else just think to themselves, “its over” ? lol
all last year we had trouble scoring…in the playoffs if not for camm and gion scoring way above their scoring pace we would have had the same problem and it did manifest itself vs the flyers…beginning of this year many of our wins were close games where we scored the key goal…in the slump portion of the season we could not score the key goals…right now this is the team we have…we will go on a winning run but will also go back to a losing streak…when you score 2-3 at best every night but play great d and have solid special teams and goaltending you are in most games but without scoring a winning streak can turn into a losing streak very easily…it is on very few occasions that our offense can bail out the team when the d , special teams or goaltending has a bad night…when the majority of your games are one goal or tied games because you cannot score the odds are that over the long run you will be around 500…so unless there is improvement the best we can hope for is to make the playoffs and get the key goals in the playoff series…this is why it make very little difference who we play in the first round as just as easily we can win in the playoffs we can exit very fast…
Moen is having a tough afternoon. Hardly noticeable at all.
How does Moen keep getting ice time? His play is soft and he’s too slow….
DD is looking like a Locke.
Does DD remind anyone of the little brother who was allowed to play with the big boys?
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:
1st star: Henri Richard
2nd Star: Doug Harvey
3rd Star: Jacques Plante
Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
Just listening to French CBC Radio and Richard Garneau seemed to be saying that Desharnais would be playing…hadn’t seen this and still don’t.
7:10ish in Paris, 1:10ish in Montreal, where the game is played
