The Canadiens evened the score in their playoff series with the Ottawa Senators Friday night at the Bell Centre, despite some key players missing from their lineup.
The Habs were without Lars Eller, who suffered a concussion and facial and dental fractures in Thursday’s game when he was hit by Senators defenceman Eric Gryba, as well as Brian Gionta and Max Pacioretty, who are out with upper body injuries.
“Everybody thought we were going to be down about what happened last night and with the loss of important players,” coach Michel Therrien said after the Canadiens’ 3-1 victory.
“You need character for that. And again tonight, (the) team showed a lot of character,” Therrien said.
